WWE has released a new video package entitled ‘History of WWE Divas’ to celebrate Women’s History Month. The clip, which features voiceover from Mickie James, packages the past few decades into just over a minute which may seem a little short, but it is a pretty cool video. Overall, it’s a really nice touch by WWE, kudos to them.

Theirs really no point in a divas DVD since almost EVERY past diva match is on youtube lol.
The video was nice but i hated that they didn’t show Victoria(Tara) but since she’s in TNA, I guess thats the reason

But I am confused about a couple things:
If Mickie James is in such hot water why was she picked to be the voice over? And why was she the last Diva shown?
And did anyone else notice they included Medusa?
But not Maria and not Victoria?
Just seemed a little confusing to me. Is all.

Also to those who say ‘Victoria wasn’t shown!’ well thats a lie. I’m pretty sure I saw someone at 0:40 in the video greatly resemblinb Victoria’s ring attire… that say anything to you? xP lol

Anyone surprised how they showed Alundra Blayze and Chyna? I mean these two women were stars, but they left the WWE on such bad terms (Blayze showing up in WCW and throwing the belt in the can and Chyna’s problems with the McMahon’s).
But all in all, I am glad that they did this and showed clips of so many memorable women, past and present.
Umm i dont really know to much about the waaaay back in the day divas but who was the the one with the green hair?? i was liking that submission move.
and i noticed that a few divas where missing like STACY,TORRIE,JACQUELINE,IVORY,LUNA,and MOLLY. but its a 1 minute video so they cant all be in there..i guess.
p.s. Yea thats real nice show MELINA getting beat up 2 times in a row..lol
I’m glad they included Bull Nakano in that video. A true legend. A little too short but they managed to show all the ladies that made a mark and left a lasting legacy and todays new generation…
@paparazzi808: that’s Bull Nakano, one of the best wrestlers and joshi superstar (legend) ever. to this day I maintain that she is the best one ever to hold the womens championship. she brought prestige and international recognition to the wwf womens championship.
I was quite surprised at Torrie and Stacey’s absences from the reel, seeing as they were two of the most bankable Divas in terms of eye candy etc. I’m glad Jacqueline and Ivory were featured, albeit both getting beaten up, but still. I don’t think Mickie’s in hot water, she had the whole ‘Piggie James’ thing, but I think following that storyline, nothing more has come of it, Mickie got a title from it and lost it and there’s been no weight mentioned since, unlike Maria, she hasn’t even been criticised for her choice to go into music. Plus, Mickie is the top Diva in WWE, people would be more interested in that than if it was Rosa and Tiffany spouting on.
Its a shame Tori, Luna and Molly never featured also, but I was glad to see Chyna, Jazz and Sable. I don’t see why everyone’s so surprised, everyone knows at the moment McMahon seems to be forgiving everyone left, right and center with Bret Hart and Wendi Richter and with the possibility Chyna might be in the HoF, this might just be another teaser towards it. Also, bad blood or not, if she wasn’t featured than many people would pick up upon it-she was such a force of her time, a real standout Diva in terms of the fact she was like nothing we’ve seen before, missing her out would just be an insult to the fans.
Alundra was a bit more of a surprise just for the fact that what she did was on a whole other level to Chyna. Mind you, like I said, Vince seems to be forgiving these days. I find it strange Mae Young was never there, though she never actually had her hey day in WWE like Moolah did, which begs the question, why is she in the HoF to begin with?

Even guys as Randy Savage appear in Classics and stuff, so it would be stupid to erase Divas from the DVD because of that. The only guy, as far as I remember, that was totally erased was Chris Benoit for the reasons we all know (which I actually disagree. His personal life…and dead…shouldn’t be mixed with what he did in Wrestling).
Thats wierd i was expecting to see alot of Trish Stratus in this vid. not just saying that just because im a big fan of hers but because since they praise her the most.
cool video i really hope they show this tonight on Raw it will be cool to show the wwe universe how cool the wwe divas are and strong there are good video wwe even though its 1 min still i am happy they took the time out to do it…..
Nice video, although wish it had been a little longer and included more faces like the Glamour Girls and Jumping Bomb Angels. But I guess I should be thankful that we’re getting anything. LOL
Very nice video. I’m glad they included Madusa and Bull Nakano. For women’s wrestling in the 90′s, it didn’t get much better than those two. They included more wrestlers than non, which was a better perk. Even Wendi Richter, Jazz, Victoria and Katie Lea were in that fast montage at the end.
Victoria wasn’t there…Chyna was there holding the IC title and then there was Layla, but no Victoria. Mind you are they likely to credit her with her actively being in TNA?
Well I guess Mickie’s fans can relax for now. WWE can’t be all that angry with her if they are letting her speak on behalf of the divas. It seems like her job is secure, although it would be very ironic if she got released this month, and this video was still playing on WWE.com. Stranger things have happened.
I can’t see them ever doing a DVD dedicated to the divas. I honestly don’t think there would be a big enough of a market for it. I know they have a huge following on sites like this, but the average fan isn’t going to pay for WWE women matches. You might make money off of a Trish set though. I’d say Lita too, but her refusal to work with WWE on anything means they would probaly never make something like that.
As an avid lita fan, I feel very good that she was recognized by WWE as one of the best wwe divas.

Sable’s powerbomb to Marc Mero was EPIC, love seeing the WWE acknowledge the Diva’s. I expected Trish all over this but it was a pleasant suprise seeing Melina and Mickie take center stage. I think Melina is really the best all round female the WWE has ever had, she really has it all.
WWE is currently working on a new DVD set for the Divas. The set will feature segments and matches from WWE Divas of the past and present. The only former WWE Diva confirmed for the project so far is Trish Stratus.
