erin, do you know how long it is on for? i’m pondering whether to stay up or not..
According to my programming guide, 30 mins.
okay, thank you. watching the stream now.
The online stream is 22:35 minutes (thats with the commercials cut out).
it’s not a live stream, just a streaming video. but i’m watching. :)
and like i thoughht, very very painful to watch..it is a glow remake…:( just my opinion…
i give it three more eps I rather watch wcw women’s wrestling give me stacy vs major guns anyday
“HEY APPLE!! HEY APPLE!!” (my annoying orange imitation…lol) you are aware they only HAVE 3 EPISODES..lol
2 matches.
match #1 – Toni the Top vs Maui
Length: 1 minute, this was terrible, it was basicly Toni the Top executing her finisher.
match #2 – Felony/Maria Toro/Bandita – Charlotte/Candy/Tyler
Length: 10 minutes
The beginning was “oke” (Bandita vs Candy kisses), think “kelly kelly” vs “rosa” quality. THis lasted about 2 minutes. After that Rain, Mercedes and Lorelei took over and the wrestling suddenly improved a lot. This match was very good and had a lot of storytelling.
A lot of the show was a waste of time, but the 2nd match was worth watching it, much better than what we are used from the divas and knockouts. But they really need to avoid 1 minute matches like match #1, we already have RAW and Impact for that.
the girls on this show are as experienced as eve torres…
I don’t know that I want to watch next week. . .
hmm.. it was definitely interesting.
once you get over the questionable match editing as well as the overuse of “shakycam” and lower your expectations a little, it’s not too bad.
felony/rain was definitely the stand out for me. no surprises there, though, really.
Well lets see. Between the horrible jokes and segments, i can tell this is a show seeking an audience of young men not (women’s) wrestling fans. I do however find the horribly fake punches and under/over-rehearsed matches to be balanced by random outbursts of good moves. If i didn’t know any better i would think that they are making fun of WWE, although the matches are longer…lol.
It was definitely GLOW Part 2, which I didn’t mind since I consider GLOW a camp classic. I think they’re hurt by the 30 minute time limit though, as they seemed to be trying to squeeze in too much. But I will say that the main event was better than a lot of what WWE and TNA has been throwing out, although it was painfully obvious who the seasoned workers were. Definitely looking forward to more. After all, any promotion that can put the likes of Rain, Mercedes Martinez, and Lacey on my television on a regular basis can’t be bad.
Just watched it, the sketches were meh but thankfully they last a few seconds, so it’s not as bad as I thought. First match seemed like it was out of the WWE itself, lasting a whole five seconds, with some awful selling by Maui who seemed to react about half an hour after being struck. Toni, on the other hand isn’t too bad, her gimmick doesn’t seem as horrible given its similiar to Serena Mancini and she works up and good reaction – although it does look like the producers have gone round handing out free merchandise and paying the audience to overreact at every instance, having a heart attack at every taunt made. I hope Candi Kisses is set for more, I know Lizzy Valentine, but have never seen her work before, though her TNA feedback wasn’t painting a great picture, but still I’d rather see less of the Jillian routine with added minions. The main event came as a shock, it was a women’s wrestling match that lasted more than three minutes! Some of the moves just felt repetitive, in particular by Cousin Cassie and Charlotte. Bandita was an alright performer, she’s not too memorable, whereas it looks like Maria Torro and Felony are being set up as the two major heels. I must say Felony/Rain really stood out in the match, its obvious that Cassie hasn’t had as much experience and she managed to deal with that and Cassie herself didn’t do anything terrible. I must say the match surprised me, I thought as soon as Texas got the tag, the faces would win, so I was really pleased with the last minute swerve.
However one thing I already despise about the show is the commentator, who sounds like they picked some letcherous old geriatric out of his rocking chair, prompted in front of the Playboy channel and set him up on the commentary booth, where he just refers to them as their characateur and makes his sleezy comments. This might just be me being picky, because I know its not suppose to be solid wrestling entertainment, but I would’ve expected more of a set up or introduction given it was the first show. Where was JV? Where was Jimmy Hart (out of skits I mean) and our beloved host Leyla Milani has already vanished.
Those are just my views.
That show sure was interesting. Are these women all trained wrestlers? I really hope the answer is no lol
Guys, this isnt supposed to be a wrestling show!! lol….Its Action/Comedy.
Personally, I liked it. We saw a whole bunch of different stuff than we
see on wrestling TV. Its not all about the wrestling! lol…Get the point right!
Its only been 1 episode and you’ll think is a waste of time, there is more
episodes to come! But I agree with Jamal, what hurts them is the 30 minute
time slot, so they squeezed in alot of things. But hey were still gonna see more
characters to come so just take a break from criticizing the WWE Divas and just
enjoy this show, thats the point there trying to make.
Sorry just to add another point, I hate the way both Cousin Cassie and Maui sold being punched in the stomach, then two minutes later propped themselves up straight to either complain to the referee or talk trash. Do one or the other, or at least wait more than a nano second to sell the move before you dash off onto the next move in the routine.
you know, comparing it to tna or wwe, it’s quite the nice little break. just don’t go into watching it expecting a technical masterpiece and you’ll be fine. the gimmicks are great, if a little too cartoony, and as jamal says there is the odd burst of good wrestling here and there. 30 minutes does feel short, i agree, but at the same time an hour would feel too long for me?
now, i best go get that “you dropkicked me right from the start” song outta my head ;)
i don’t think i have ever heard so many terrible cliches and jokes in my life. the only worth while part of that… that… not wrestling show was when “texas” got in the ring with “felony.” honestly i do not seeing this show going on at all.
God Art, so we’re not allowed opinions? It’s the first show, the most important one, because its whether or not to bother with the rest of it. Yes, we heard from Lorelai Lee (numerous times) its NOT a wrestling show…it’s an ‘action’ show, but surely how can it be action? Is there guns and car chases? No it’s wrestling action, therefore you have to take into account the wrestling itself. Its the same with any product, if it features wrestling, you have to at least have a good degree of wrestling output in order for people to judge it positively. Otherwise they should just turn it into a pure sketch show.
What I’m trying to say is I understand you saying we can’t just judge it on a TNA/WWE level, but at the same time it’s WRESTLE-licious, if there’s wrestling involved, people are going to look at that and with jokes that bad, their mistakes aren’t exactly going to be brushed under the carpet due to its audience being in hysterics.
is Mercedes Martinez Maria Toro?
“Sorry just to add another point, I hate the way both Cousin Cassie and Maui sold being punched in the stomach,”
Well, those are the models that were turned into wrestlers, so you cant have too high expectations from them. Basicly the only 4 women with experience were Felony (Rain), Maira Toro (Mercerdes), Tyler Texas (Lorelei Lei) and Charlotte (Amber O’Neal), and it was very clear that Rain, Mercedes and Lorelei had to carry the match. Amber surprisingly didnt do much, she was in for like 30 seconds total?
I dont know much about Toni the Top (Nikki Tsugranes), but based on the finisher she used i assume she has experience, because i doubt they let a model use a move like that. But she didnt really show much other than her finisher.
lol the only one i dont like is Lizzy Valentines character
I know, what you mean Looking Glass. I just think you’ll are heavily criticizing it. :/
“I just think you’ll are heavily criticizing it. :/”
People mostly criticize the sketches, there wasnt really any “structure” to the show. I doubt many people will critize the 2nd wrestling match, simply because it was much better (and MUCH longer) than what WWE/TNA show us every week. But they really need to work on some structure on the show, this was just a chain of random events.
lol i found it great they know that its for fun lol its funnier when ur blazed up
I think Toni shows potential, she has enough character to disguise a possible lack of experience, but like you said I think she does have some ability lying back there, because that isn’t exactly a rookie finisher.
Everyone’s been praising Cousin Cassie, a character I disliked right from the promo, she wasn’t awful, but another thing that annoyed me (sorry guys) and I know it’s scripted and I’m just nagging but Cassie and Tyler saw Maria attack Charlotte and Felony get the pin, they were about two steps away and didn’t even attempt to make the save!?- I just think when that happens, even on WWE and co. it loses realism.
It was good to see Daizee Haze/Marly Sebastian for all two seconds, I’m hoping she’ll get into the ring soon as well as Draculetta…
Correct me if I’m wrong but Draculetta will be Daffney to begin with and then change? Or are they two different characters?
Next week main event is Paige Webb vs Autumn Frost
I will watch again of course because it is a female wrestling promotion but I hope to see some of the more experienced women next time.
just admit it..it’s GLOW II…LOL and w/the same jokes. and saying it is a comedy/action show…that is a stretch, i wont even compare it to WWE or TNA. not worth the trouble…
WTH did I just watch? I know, I *Know* it’s supposed to be a second GLOW with sketches and blah blah….but it’s too damn cheesy. It’s horridly sexist. (pink ring ropes? Why didn’t they just put lace around the ring instead of an apron?) The characters are what they are, but the jailer accompanying “Felony” is a bit too much. The prison character in WOW didn’t have a cop escorting her places. And the ‘commentator’ is an abomination. Sounds like they went through a list of sex offenders and hired one. The first match wasn’t. Toni seems like she’s decent, or could be. Felony and Tyler saved the second match. I couldn’t remember who was who in terms of who’s a model and who’s an actual wrestler.
I don’t know if I’ll watch another episode. It feels so degrading..if the women involved can handle it, then more power to them but I’d rather watch a SHIMMER DVD or matches on youtube.
Jennifer, I remember saying something similiar when it was announced, saying how its stereoptyped characters and its presentation was a step back in women’s wrestling which should be getting more diverse and professional, rather than the outtakes of the Jerry Springet show. However, i know some people are going on saying I’m ‘hating’ on it, but it was BETTER than I expected, namely due to the fact that as bad as the jokes were, they weren’t dragged out for too long.
Paige vs Autumn, thats Serena Deeb vs Jennifer Blake, you can’t go wrong with a main event like that, so i’ll definately watch that ;-)

Yeah yeah, we know already. Every single post you made on diva-dirt in the past 2 weeks were anti-Wrestlicious. You also have some more constructive things to say?
Don’t like the show, then just dont watch it. And dont want your time on the IWC complaining about it.
It wasnt that bad. Its for sure GLOW for the next generation. First match was just like a Divas match haha. Main event was better. Who is Bandita? Shes very easy on the eyes.
Looking Glass, I don’t think you’re hating on it at all. I agree with a lot of what you said. I’m glad the jokes weren’t dragged out too long either, if they’re kept short like that then it’s tolerable. But they better get themselves a serious commentator team because # 1, that guy is terrible. Even if he wasn’t making horrid statements, he’d still suck at commentating in general. and # 2, you need a pair to keep a ‘flow’ going, it sounds bad with just one saying something, then silence, then something, etc.
If it is Blake v Serena next week I’ll definately tune in. I just don’t know about it overall though. =/
AUTUMN FROST vs. PAIGE WEBB !!! Cant wait.
this show looks horrible.
Good lord… that wasn’t even so-bad-it’s-funny. It was just BAD.
Somewhere in Berwyn Illinois, Dave Prazak is crying.
“Somewhere in Berwyn, Illinois, Dave Prazak is crying.”
Dave has already said that he realizes what Wrestlicious was meant to be, and that the women are going to do it because it’s good money, easy money. He also has said that if you can get him JV Money’s contact info, he’ll turn him into a new supporter for SHIMMER.
I liked it.. I think if you can put up with the Raw divas then you can put up with anything and the wrestling on this show was much better than the Raw divas in my opinion..
“if you can put up with the Raw divas then you can put up with anything”
I agree. I can’t believe some people think it’s ok to watch oil wrestling or strippoker on TNA, or a pillow fight/bullriding on RAW, and then those same people complain about Wrestlicious. At least this show doesn’t pretend to be “the best wrestling show on tv”.
mikas: At least this show doesn’t pretend to be “the best wrestling show on tv”.
agreed, it’s supposed to be over the top cheesy, camp fun with the emphasis more on the gimmicky characters than the wrestling itself. it’s sad that not everybody realises that and are expecting some sort of shimmer rip-off.
and yeah, wrestling wise, it wasn’t much different than what we usually get from the raw divas.
“if you can put up with the Raw divas then you can put up with anything”
Seriously, the main event alone is better than anything I’ve seen from Maryse or the Bellas.
Yeah I agree with you 4 ^^^^^^
But I don’t see how Maryse and Kelly put on someee of the WOORST matches ever and people just say decent match but then the match between Toni and Maui was decent to me and people say it was horrible…like have you been watching these Bullriding Contest and Pillow Fights that WWE have been putting on like the Gimmick show doesn’t even have Gimmick matches like this and as someone else said they don’t even claim to be “The best wrestling on T.v.” like WWE supposedly is and Wrestlicious’ matches are looking pretty good.
