Former WWE Diva and TNA Knockout, Shelly Martinez wants a return to her former Impact Zone stomping grounds. Martinez, who competed in TNA as Salinas from late 2007 through late 2008 posted the following message on her MySpace:
I was talking to my friend today and he asked me if I would go back to TNA. I told him I would LOVE to. Now that I have laid the ground work for other goals TNA won’t take away from my schedule. My friend said, ” I would love to see you back, do they know?” “Yes” I replied :) He then suggested I post our convo on my myspace, facebook and site. “I am sure your fans would let TNA know what they want” is what he said when we finished our talk. So as per my friends advise here I am :) We shall we what happens next…..
With the company recently losing a slew of Knockouts, three in as many months [though one is still up in the air], could Martinez slot back into the division? No doubt that she has a great, unique look that would be a welcome asset to any roster.
What do you think? Would you like to see Shelly back in TNA?

I think I would like to see Shelly back. I have actually been a fan of hers for a while, and she has a lot of personality and a great look. If her wrestling isn’t that great (haven’t seen her in a long time), I think she would make a great manager or some other type of personality.
Definitely! I think she is a KO that is a great worker and fan fav. Plus, I think she is like a Roxxi or ODB in which she is unique and wouldn’t compete/interfere with the others.
I like her, and I’d like to see her back. But, to be honest this seems kind of pathetic. I don’t think Traci needs to be replaced she didn’t add anything to the division anyway. But, they will need someone to fill the shoes of Kong. I think Sara Del Rey is the right woman for the job. Also, the fanboy in me really would like to see Chyna back in any company, though I know that’ll never happen.
I never cared for her but I’d like to see a LAX reunion so IDK.
Yeah sure a few Knockouts are gone but I look at that as a good thing. Trish Status once said in an interview that she thinks the Divas are slacking because there’s just too many to keep up with and I think the same goes for the Knockouts, If they hire replacements for Alissa Flash/Kong/Traci especially if they’re unknown (like Shelly) then their ship is just going to continue to sink. IMO anyway..

Well, I think the knockouts are getting a little sparse and they need new talent. But, I think one or two new girls would work. I don’t see Shelly as being one of them. Like I already said I think Sara Del Rey would be perfect! As for the second, I think they are going to want someone similar to Flash, strong and technically sound.
If they bring her back. Then i really fear for the likes of Hamada & Sarita.
I really like Shelly as a character but she can’t wrestle for shit.
Getting rid of 3 women who can wrestle and bringing in more & more that can’t. will spell the end of a great women’s diivsion.
I like her when she was in OVW with Beth, I also liked her Gothic Vampire persona in ECW. But she is Ashley bad in the ring.

she can’t even wrestler, if TNA did hire her back she would just be a jobber like she was before. TNA needs to hire new knockouts from the indies and I have a whole list of woman i want TNA to hire

They HAD Melissa, who fits the same categorie in size/skills/promos as SDR, and is even better looking. Yet they failed to use her properly in 2 years. If they failed with Melissa, then why would they be interested in SDR? Do you really want to see SDR turn into a jobber for Angelina, Tara and ODB?
Shelly Martinez would be a good fit for them. Shelly might not be the best wrestler, but her skills are decent enough. And she has the looks, which appearently is very important to become a knockout nowadays.
@Mikas: I really like what you wrote, I feel the same way. Especially about her wrestling ability. TNA as well as WWE have woman that aren’t very good in the ring. TNA just happens to have more woman that can wrestle. She can hold and sell a match. Therefor I think Shelly is good to go.

Am I the only one who thinks that they don’t need any more knockouts?
They only have one show per week, and its getting difficult for them to use all knockouts they have. Besides, even if I like Shelly, I don’t think she would have an important place in the division, unless they need a new jobber or another tagteam, because the knockouts tag title doesn’t have competition besides Saritaylor and TBP, especially now that Kong is apparently gone.
Shelly is one of those people who I wish could, at the very least, wrestle like Angelina Love. She has that distinctive look and she really added something different to the diversity of Knockouts. Every time she steps in the ring, however, she always seems apprehensive with her moves–like that cross body she did to Jaqueline or that hurricanrana she did in one of her indie matches with Mercedez Martinez. Maybe if she can just make them more believable, she would be a lot better. I can tell that she really likes to wrestle but maybe to afraid to get hurt or hurt others. But maybe that’s just me.
Anyway, I wouldn’t mind seeing her again. But even though I like her, I wouldn’t want her endangering the possible TV time of women like Sarita. Again, the sudden change in the treatment of the Knockouts is frustrating me considering how talented their roster is.
