TNA crowned new Knockouts Tag Team Champions tonight in the wake of Awesome Kong’s departure from the company. In storyline, Taz and Mike Tenay announced that Kong and partner Hamada had been ‘stripped’ of the belts after failing to defend them in the past 30 days. In actuality, the move is due to Kong coming to terms with TNA over her release.
The new tag team champions, The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky) defeated Saritaylor and the team of Tara and Angelina Love in a triple threat tag team match to win the belts.

The belts are now where they belonged in the first place!!! on tbps waist!!!
Called it. Farewell Kong, you will be forever missed. A true performer, a real wrestler.
Congrats TBP’s you guys deserve the title team titles, Madison and Velvet Sky have great Chemistry with each other. are always fun to watch
I know Kong and Hamada never really got a chance to shine but Yay! Finally non-boring champs. :D Hopefully these belts will start to mean something..
Ladies and gentlemen, the TNA Knockouts Division IS OFFICIALLY DEAD!
The Knockouts Division is dead? Really? LMAO.
Yeah, okay. So the crowd was into the match. And the Divas Division is SOOOO alive, right?
Congradulations to TBP.
<3
I see a feud with Taylor & Sarita.
somebody needs to calm down ^^
i’m pleased for them. as i mentioned in the feedback post, the beautiful people are pretty much a knockouts staple. hopefully with them having the belts, we not only get to see madison at full potential, but more focus on the tag division itself.
it does feel weird them being champs without love, but it’s much better suited with lacey on the sidelines than madison.
daffney is the only current knockout not to hold gold now.. unless you include lacey.
OMG FINALLY Madison rayne gets some gold around her waist, she looked awesome with that belt on her shoulder, velvet not so much lol. Madison winning the title totally ties Jillian winning the divas title as my favorite diva/knockout moments. Now Gail needs to win the divas title and everything will be perfect
Daffney looked amazing tonight, I’m glad her storyline with Tara was tied together with the beautiful people winning the titles
lol if the knockouts division is dead, then the WWE womens division has been a fossil for years. people need to calm down
Holler!
“I see a feud with Taylor & Sarita.”
The problem with that is that we already did that, and people were already getting bored with it in the end. So repeating it all over again might not be a good idea. I think the most practical solution is to find a tagteam partner for Angelina (other than Tara), so she can feud for the titles, and Tara can focus on Daffney.
Yeah. I see Angelina continuing to feud with the Beauties with or without the titles. I’m expecting either a new knockout to sign with them (Roxxi?) or have Angelina pick up one of the other unused girls on the roster.

While I’m not 100% in agreement, I can understand where you’re coming from. We’ll just have to see where all this goes. :)
I feel like the K.O. is increasingly giving us sub par matches (atleast from what we expect from ‘em) as time goes on. Disappointed at the way they decided to explain the reason for the title match. I feel like the Divas match was better than what the KO gave us tonight…and thats really bad considering 3 of the divas that wrestled are models turned “wrestlers” .
Daffney looked great and I hope she gets a crack at the championship atleast once. I don’t know what they should do next to save the women’s tag division. it would be awesome if they could try and bring LCO out of retirement and reignite the whole division.
Mojodoom, quite honestly, I have to disagree. The Divas match was ridiculous. It was thrown together, and the Knockouts match has been increasingly GOOD to me, as it seemed. Everyone’s getting used to their places, and it seemed to flow really well. The divas matches are pissbreak botchfests nowadays.

Unfortunately the knockout matches have become the same nowadays. It has become rare to see a knockout match go over 3 minutes and the quality from 2007-2008 has been long gone. I do consider the knockout matches to be better than the RAW matches, but the smackdown/superstars matches have catched up to the knockouts (not always, but regularly). At least we have Wrestlicious now!
With the way things are situated I wouldn’t be surprised to see Daffney win the title off Tara during the next PPV. Then Tara and Angelina can feud with TBP for the tag titles.
If Daffney doesn’t win it, then she can tag with Hamada against TBP.
The tag team champions should be Angelina and Velvet. No offense to Madison Rayne, she deserves it from a talent perspective, but Angelina/Velvet were the first/best tag team in the knockouts division.
I wouldn’t want to see Angelina partner with anyone but Velvet. I know it would be a direct contradiction to the current storyline but the original Beautiful People are the best Beautiful People.

That’s how divas matches are always been described by some people even during the “Golden Ages” believe it or not. Quite honestly I think its unfair, just us how people will always for whatever reason would rank a terrible KO match to any diva match. I just rewatched both and I stand by my initial opinion. Just to be clear though both were underwhelming.
Underwhelming is right. I miss the good old days, uh, you know, two or three months back? New management has openly been shoveling the Knockouts more and more under the rug from the minute they arrived and it’s sad to see the once proud division reduced to pecking at scraps.
But at least Lacey finally has some gold, I suppose.
Even the SEGMENT from last week was well over 6 minutes. I’m not saying that TNA management can’t improve, but it’s not like they’re ignoring the girls. The Beautiful People’s match with Tara was TEN minutes. I don’t see where you guys are getting these guesstimated numbers from. <3
I am not a fan of her, but I’d be dang if Madison doesn’t have great chemistry with Lacey. The match was what it was. You had TBP doing very basic, classic heel-ish things. Sarita and Taylor being spot monkeys. And Tara and Angelina trying to be the “middle man” between the other teams’ style.
I would love it if they handled the belts Freebird style. Where you never know who is going to defend the title. Is going to be Lacey and Madison? Madison and Velvet or even Lacey and Velvet. I don’t think there has every been a group of women to do that belt gimmick.
As Long As Lacey dosent ever b come any kind of champion im fine with it
Lacey von erich is NOT a champion, Madison and Velvet are. The team was Madison and Velvet, lacey was not even in the match, she was at ringside like always. I doubt this ‘freebird’ rule will even take place because lacey doesn’t wrestler. How will she defend the title if she only spends a few seconds in the match doing a few kicks and punches, it would be her partner doing all the work. Madison and Velvet only said Lacey was champion backstage to make her feel better, they didn’t mean it
wikipedia needs to stop writing false info
Finally! :D im so happy for TBP! and we know their gonna be great champs because their so entertaining! would be interesting if Angelina took the title from Tara now :)
btw has Roxxi been fully released? :/
“I doubt this ‘freebird’ rule will even take place because lacey doesn’t wrestler. ”
I just said I hoped. The Beautiful People have become much more a trio. Which I like. It isn’t just about ONE person, but all three of them are important. And they prolly don’t want Lacey to wrestle because heaven forbid that iMPACT! Zone would show a little respect to wrestlers they don’t like.
The worst team (in wrestling, not characters) won. Wow. I’m already missing Kong a lot. I truly dislike TBP. Even though they do very cool promos, most of the times they represent to me, everything that I don’t like in women’s wrestling even though that is not their fault.
we all saw this happening from the start…not a fan of ecw but to be honest..tbp r interesting to watch and they will sure add something to the title’s value
hamada and kong team was too random to survive anyway
BTW, the stupid thing in this “stripped of the titles because its been over 30 days” its a rather stupid excuse for the real motives, because according to Wikipedia they had defended the titles against TBP 21 days before this.
