It’s okay to look — SmackDown has returned to form! Hurrah! After an iffy week with not much going on last week, this week’s show was infinitely better with the blonde babyfaces proving the Divas moniker to be true — they were smart, they were sexy and oh yes, they were powerful! You’d expect little else from the Glamazon Beth Phoenix… but Tiffany? Tiffany?! I was not expecting anything out of the former ECW GM upon reading the spoilers for this week but Tiffany girl, consider my eyes opened. Tiff Tiff shocked the hell out of me with her rather great in-ring debut on SmackDown — perhaps one of the better ones in recent years from the model-types.
This week’s action kicked off with Tiffany backstage with Teddy Long. Vickie Guerrero comes in and tries to put Tiffany in her place but Teddy tells Vickie that Tiff’s here to be a Diva in the women’s division, not a GM. Going all the way back to Tiffany’s first night as GM on ECW, I thought her acting was more convincing here — she’s improved. Still though, and this is probably the same for most of the Divas, she isn’t great.
Next we have Tiffany making her in-ring debut against Michelle McCool as ordered by Guerrero.
McCool makes her entrance first with Vickie now joining the Simply Flawless team and awkwardly taking part in their entrance. Next out is the newest Diva, Tiffany and for a second I had to wonder if I was watching the right show. She seriously looked like something fresh out of Wrestlicious. With that ring attire and music she comes across as a cliched character on TakeDown. It’s hard to take the girl seriously when she looks like that, I really hope she finds a decent ring attire with some pants or shorts soon.
As Tiffany approaches the ring, some nice expressions from Michelle with her looking bored and uninterested in the new Diva. McCool, taking Tiffany lightly, mocks her skirt [thank you!] and tries to intimidate the former ECW GM by shoving her down to the canvas. Tiffany jumps straight back up but McCool again mocks the Diva by taking a time up for some press ups. Tiffany runs at McCool surprising her with her feistiness and throws a few jibes of her own at the Women’s Champ. Michelle walks into a nicely executed atomic drop by Tiffany followed by two impactful clotheslines. Already, I’m impressed. Frankly, I was expecting a flimsy kind of Kelly-esque moveset from Tiffany with less than believable clotheslines but Tiffany’s clotheslines connected and they connected hard. She looked powerful and dominant which is great when you need to choreograph and sell your moves. Perhaps her background in power lifting helps? Tiffany then goes for a low dropkick on Michelle, kind of jumping in the air to execute it. Hmm, it looked a little odd but again, it connected and looked believable which is already the antithesis of some of the ‘model’ girls we see on Raw. Tiffany then kicks Michelle through the ropes and then somewhat surprisingly, jumps right out of the ring herself and goes after the champ some more! Gotta love that aggression.
Tiffany runs at Michelle, striking her hard across the back and then hits her head on the side of the apron not once but twice. She then hits her with a few forearms and then an elbow. Tiff then throws Michelle into the barricade with force. Tiffany grabs McCool by the arm and tries to throw her back into the ring but the champ holds onto the barricade. Then we see Vickie run at Tiffany, knocking her to the ground with Tiffany’s head smacking against the floor. Ouch! Tiffany struggles and props herself up against the barricade in pole position for Michelle McCool’s vicious knee strike that we’ve seen in the past on the likes of Eve and Melina. Just like Vickie’s takedown, this looked incredibly powerful and looked as though it hurt. Great selling by both Divas.
McCool rolls Tiffany into the ring for more punishment but as she begins choking her out in the corner with her foot, out runs the Glamazon Beth Phoenix. Phoenix throws Layla into McCool and hits them both with a double clothesline. Michelle rolls out of the ring and then Beth then throws Layla out of it and into Michelle on the outside. This leaves her alone in the ring with Guerrero. The crowd was incredibly, incredibly hot for Beth as a smirk comes over her face. Vickie tries to make a dash for it but the Glamazon grabs her by the arm and drags her back into the ring. She lets go of Vickie’s arm, teasing that she’s not going to hurt her as the crowd chants, “Do it!” Beth’s facial expression changes from smiley to anger and she hits Vickie with a clothesline! The clothesline could have been executed better but nonetheless, it doesn’t matter as the desired effect was obtained — the crowd was hot to see Vickie get her just desserts and it gave Beth an incredible crowd support because of it. Beth then goes to pick up Vickie for a Glam Slam but McCool and Layla interrupt and Vickie flees the ring. Beth helps Tiffany up and raises her arm as the two impressive blondes get the upper hand to end the segment.
From start to finish, I thought this was a fantastic Divas segment and I really, really enjoyed the work from Tiffany and Beth Phoenix. I never knew Tiffany had this in her but she came out and proved why she deserves to be a WWE Diva and in all honesty, I think her in-ring debut was far better than the likes of Eve who is getting a push right now on Raw. She had great ring presence and her moves actually looked like they were impactful. Most of the time with the newer girls it seems there’s more emphasis on how they look doing the moves — they try to be sexy and stuff and aren’t as concerned with how the move looked. It has to look realistic, it has to look like it hurts and I think Tiffany has that down. I do think she could become more crisp and more fluid in the way she hits her moves i.e. that low dropkick and the forearms on the outside but for the most part, she was really impressive. I really did expect a ton of flashy moves like Eve or Kelly but she didn’t go that route and went with the basics and did them well — something that’s taken for granted. Her aggression and fire in the ring is again, something that can’t be taught — she didn’t look like she was just going through the motions, she looked as though she was in the heat of the moment and fighting for her life. Great intensity. I didn’t know what to expect from Tiffany but I was really impressed and if she continues like this in the coming weeks, I can see her lasting. My only gripe as mentioned earlier is her choice of ring attire. If she changes that, I think it’ll do her the world of good in being taken more seriously as a competitor. But for now, I’m impressed and I look forward to seeing more.
As for the Glamazon, it’s like she was reborn on SmackDown. I guess she’s now a full-on babyface and what a first night. After playing the stoic Glamazon for so long, it was great to see that fire just burst out of her in the ring tonight and the crowd just loved it. What an amazing reaction for her and I can only hope she manages to sustain it in the coming weeks — I do think being involved with Vickie helped her but if she can keep that going post-Vickie, then great. There’s so much momentum coming out of this week with Beth that it’d be so, so hard to get it wrong and I can only hope that they book Michelle vs Beth for the title at ‘Mania coming out of this. The reaction to Beth taking out Simply Flawless was huge and they’d be fools not to book it for ‘Mania just based on the momentum gained this week.
Great stuff this week. I’m already loving Beth as a babyface, she looked lik she’d been given a new lease on life and just tore the house down. And Tiffany, well what a night for her too. Two thumbs up!

So pleasantly surprised by Tiffany. I knew she was adequate in the ring, but she surpassed my expectations here. She looked very strong in this match. Her clotheslines were great, her forearms were great, her elbow was great. I liked the trash talking beforehand too. Its nice to see a baby face who isn’t so cutesy in the ring. Even little things like her facials throughout the match were good. She just looked pissed off, where I’ve noticed other girls like Eve and Kelly Kelly kind of wear this expression like they’re concentrating not to mess up and it just makes you anxious for a botch, lol. Very impressive all around. Now, lets do something about that entrance music and ring attire! :D
Also, I’m loving Beth for the first time in, well…ever. This was a great week for the blue brand Divas.
10/10! Excellent stuff but I hope Vickie’s wrestling is limited and well prepared for WM whether she is managing or in a match!
I loved it. I was so hoping Vickie would get the Glam Slam. I everyone did their job well this week and it was nice to see Vickie get physical. Beth’s face turn looks like it going to be pretty good. It was nice to see Tiffany wrestle too.
Have to agree with everythng and trust me ths match will happen at WM 26 when wwe include Vickie the match and segment is going to get major heat so I thnk this match will happen! Also TIFFANY minus the ring attire she did amazing I was very suprised and really can get a fell for this girl! Plan on next week it being Tiffany and Beth vs Simply flawless or Simply flawless bs Beth in a handicap match with Mickie making her triumphint return and saving Beth from the gang up!! Anyone of these two will do!!! Also Beth turning face amazing she needs to get tht push as the face o smackdown great night for womens wrestling great way not to dissapoint Smackdown my
favorite wrestling how all around by fare!!!
Wow I really can’t remember the last time a diva segment got such a reaction from the crowd. The inclusion of Vickie in the Divas division has been great for getting some attention of the fans. Beth really works well as a face, which a few weeks back I wasn’t so sure of whether it would work. Tiffany had one of the best debuts in recent memory, and Laycool were great as always. Smackdown is back on form and after this reaction, Michelle vs Beth has to happen at Mania, just hopefully no lumberjills surrounding it.
I thought that was an amazing segment! The crowd was super into it and a story was told. Reminded me of the good old days. Beth being a face is so awesome!!! I truly believe that she will become incredibly over with the crowd. And tiffany, I was so impressed! From the clotheslines, which were amazing, and the aggression was great! I love that she’s super hot, yet she still is kind of a powerhouse diva…it was refreshing not to see a babyface do a hurricarana or a backflip for once. It seems like she is really stepping it up for TV
im really loving this laycool vickie thing, glad to see Tiffany get some in ring time too. way to step it up smackdown writers, thanks for the actual storyline developments!
wow Tiffany really made a good debute, she seems to have carried on her training wile in ECW, i was worried she had been lazy wile playing GM but clearly not,
and I’m so happy to see Beth turn face :D
she;s so charismatic she reminds me of another blond Diva who went on to win the title 7 times :P
This was very good. And Tiffany, hmm, would it be premature to say she may be O2W, one to watch? And as for Beth, she has turned the corner. But if only shw could give the glam slam to that loud mouth Guerrero!
This made me like Tiffany even more xD. And no she have to keep the skirts lol.
“Tiffany went with the basics and did them well — something that’s taken for granted. Her aggression and fire in the ring is again, something that can’t be taught — she didn’t look like she was just going through the motions, she looked as though she was in the heat of the moment and fighting for her life.”
Yay Tiffany. And dead on right Melanie! When I watch Eve & Kelly it’s like watching figure skating, I’m just happy if they don’t fall (sorry-botch). Tiffany seems to get the story telling aspect from the start. I liked it all, the return of Michelle’s “vicious knee strike”, simply chubby Vickie, and baby face Beth. Beth Vs Michelle at WM, right… no bunch of models walk to the ring deal… please WWE bookers, and push Nattie & Katie…
I love this site, this hasn’t even aired in Atlanta yet- home of WM 27 (should I even go, what if the divas match is vickie vs santina with a mae young run in?)
they should do vickie v beth v michelle and beth kills michelle then glamslams vickie onto michelle and then layla grabs beth and cause vickie is on michelle vickie becums womens champ then vickie can have a short fued with beth and beth wins the title xd that wud be so hoot
Tiffany did really well loved the agression I hope she keeps it up.
Nd of course who could forget the glamazon , now as an offical face nd the next Womens Champion! SD was great this week . I hope we see Beth vs Natalya or a MIchelle & Natalya vs Beth & Mickie soon Crossing my fingers
I totally agree with the issue with Tiffany’s ring attire. It was horrid. I think the skirt is alright, it’s just the fact that it was paired with a gross pink thing.
I really love tiffany! She can be a powerhouse diva if she wanted to. I got no problem on tiffanys in-ring gear! I think shes hot in that outfit and as long as she kicks ass i dont have any problem about that outfit! lol! Finally beth turned face again and she will dominate the Sd divas divison more! It was really genius for SD to put vickie g. in the divas division to put more crowd into it. Laycool was doing their best too here. So overall great nigh by the Sd divas. I hope raw tae their divas seriously too!!!
Tiffany did decent imo but the good part was for sure Beth helping her out.
I was like OMG she is going to Glam Slam that b*tch Vickie!
Too bad would have beene epic!
wow. i mean wow. tiffany kicked ass. thats what i like pretty divas who can get down just as good as the more tougher divas. thats why i liked candice, trish and torrie. tiffany reminded me of that. i see her doing better on sd!. i hope she’s stays there too after the draft. because smackdown is my favorite out of all wwe shows. and i would just watch it to see her like i use to when torrie was there. congrates tiffany you are my new favorite. can we say future champion. after she changes her attire of course. the theme can, stay i love the song.
Its good to note Tiffany is back in FCW to do some more training:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JBloAazsQU
really enjoyed this segment: Good work Smackdown!!!
Tiffany was really good, finally a diva i care about on smackdown
what a night…SD! is the land of the divas indeed
mccool acted better than ever..vickie just like eddie..knows how to make the crowd react the way she wants
and tif…what a debut if she keep it like that i think she will be my current favorite diva i never felt interested in a diva like this since torrie left
and finaly beth…this woman is amazing i love seeing her face but to be honest i liked her neutral role more…i think it was going to be awesome i she hit tif with her glam-slam but i know its meaning less in the current storyline cause they need a pure face challenger
a great night for all divas fans :D
wow! i was not expecting that from tiffany. very nice debut. i’ve seen some of her fcw matches and they were just ok, she showed alot more in this match. i gotta say though, that her ring attire needs to go, it looked horrible. overall a very nice segment from the sd divas. i’m hoping they get rewarded for all their hard work recently with a decent spot at wm.
I thought Tiffany was kinda crappy when she was actually in the ring wrestling, tbh. It got better once she started shoving McCool around outside, but as far as the in-ring stuff went? Um…Well, we’ll see in future when she has a proper match, but she reminds me of a more awkward early version of Christy Hemme.
Vickie is doing wonders for the women’s division. Seriously.
Beth’s part was great. First interesting women’s angle since Melina’s turn two years ago. I see a lot of similarities between the two, actually. Both were top female heels for the best part of four years, both took a break from the main scene for about half a year, and then re-entered and eventually turned. Let’s hope Beth doesn’t get injured at the worst possible time, a la Melina 2008.
damn I think I have a new favorite diva Maryse is out and Tiffany’s in with this match and that ecw spear. I knew I liked her for some reason skirt and all. This girl has a bright future forget Eve we won’t see Tiffany hurting someone with a school girl.
LOVED this, omg. How amazing was Tiffany??
I knew she could get down and dirty judging from her ECW catfight with Rosa, but this was just brilliant. I love this girl, I always have, and that segment just got me so pumped up for what’s to come for the Smackdown divas. Michelle McCool just answered a tweet about who her favorite male superstar to watch is and she picked Randy Orton. I can totally see some similarities in the two. Michelle’s in-your-face trash talk is so great and that woman has truly blossomed into one of the best divas the WWE has. Love her or hate, McCool can damn sure get the job done.
And Beth… LOVE IT.
God. I just marked out, didn’t I? lmfao
It’s way to early to be saying “omg shes better than so n so” PLUS Tiffany is bound to look ‘Decent’, It’s Smackdown…TAPED. They can edit whatever goes wrong.
I was about to bitch about Vickie being added to the Diva mix as just another attempt to get some heat on the Michelle mega-push …. But boy, did this work well. Excellent segment.
I thought it was a good first effort by Tiffany. Not perfect, but lots of energy and she didn’t look lost. She knew what she wanted to do. I’m not Michelle’s biggest fan, but she was very good here as the cocky heel and the high knee was impressive. One of her better outings as of late.
The Beth face turn was expected, especially after Mickie’s surgery. But it was done very well. And that clothesline looked as good as it could on a non wrestler like Vickie.
A great starting point to the Michelle-Beth feud. Let’s see where it goes.
I LOVE IT.
that was the best match that i’ve seen in weeks and tiffany oh god that girl know what she got and know how to use it her moves and her agility she is impressive, and really like her theme song is pretty good and beth attack after michelle’s DQ that was awesome finally in weeks and shows the fans can see a decent match.
NOW IM SURE THAT THE BEST OPTION FOR WM26 IS A INTER-BRAND DIVA TAG MATCH THAT WOULD BE AWESOME AND AFTER ALL OF THIS DRAMA AND CHAMPIONSHIPS GREED.
All the girls involved did a great job. I couldn’t help but laugh at Vickie’s running chop thing she did to Tiffany.
Beth was fantasic and the fire she showed proves she can make it work as a baby face.
I get your point about Tiffany Melanie. It was her first big match on Smackdown, she didn’t do anything too risky and everything she did do looked great. She played it safe and it worked. I kinda like her better than Kelly already, she seems to actually have a personality, unlike some model type divas.
Also I know Michelle isn’t the most popular Diva in the WWE, but fair play to her. To be honest she is almost perfect in the ring as I rarely see her botch and her matches are always interesting no matter who they are with. I’m not a huge fan but I know talent when I see it. Well done McCool.
Tiffany looked okay, although she didn’t really have to do much, so it’s too soon to tell how good she will be. It was surprised that she practically squashed Michelle.
The Beth part worked really well. Hopefully, she’s able to maintain that kind of reaction. It’s unreal, though, how Vickie’s heat has done absolutely nothing for McCool in terms of getting reactions, yet it helped Beth get over huge, at least for one night.
Tiffany was wearing her miss wrestlemania attire.
omg i loved the match!n i loved vickie little push 2 tiffany haha.
ps i rly love tiffanys skirts!! they r very hot haha
I Love this whole exchange b/w the divas and Vickie…take notes RAW writers/Divas!
@ Lee – That was a different outfit.
I did not know that little sweet TIFFANY had a bad girl side..BUT IM LUVIN IT!.
p.s. Beth looked like a big sister who just saw her lilttle sister beat up the bully at recess lol.
Basics? Haven’t you guys been knocking Eve that she doesn’t have mat work? Isn’t that the basics you’ve been talking about about?
Anyways, loved the fire under Tiffany. Is it weird that I’m already wondering what it’d be like if she had an evil persona to her? She looked ok, not awesome, but still ok..for all we know she could have a green week next week. And sweet, a loveable Beth Phoenix!
Tiffany really surprised me tonight. I thought that the she looked great, and I’d love to see her in a longer match. Then again, this is the WWE.
Beth Phoenix was awesome as always. I’m really hoping that they don’t turn the Mania match into a Divas tag team match, however.
I find it amusing that Man-voice McCool is still unable to garner a fan reaction to save her life. Also, she needs to eat a sandwich (or 30).
I hope we don’t get too lovable a Glamazon. I’m rooting for the bad-ass face.
I’m seeing a Smackdown house show on Saturday, but they only advertised “Divas.” I’d love a Tiffany-Beth vs. Simply Flawless tag match.
whoa… bit surprise with tiffany aggression especially outside the ring! and beth phoenix debut a strong face! wowers… super fierce, really powerful! love her face reaction through out!! and she looks really gorgeous with those long curly hair she have..! michelle did great taunting.. the power of management, layla and vickie gave michelle the third dimension she needed.
Awesome SD!, I just loved it. Interesting to see Beth face when Mickie isn’t around, I’m guessing they’ll tease her old tendencies when Mickie returns. I love the tease of the Glam Slam at the end, and hopefully Vickie can take a Glam Slam better than she can sell a clothesline lol.
SD! provided outside interaction once again and the use of the barricade was great. Tiffany did well with all the outside stuff and her feisty attitude was good, it covered up her actual wrestling flaws, but I’m sure she’ll improve now she’s in FCW.
Could this lead to a Six Diva Tag at Mania? Mickie, Tiffany and Beth vs Vickie, Layla and Michelle? or just a tag match taking out Tiffany and having Vickie be a manager? I guess that is the direction they’re heading, then RAW can have some big clusterf*ck like usual, I’d rather SD! weren’t dragged into that.
a great great week for smackdown. i loved everything about this segment. even tiffanys outfit! i cannot wait to see more of tiffany in the ring and i can’t wait to see the long awaited Phoenix-McCool showdown!
Really enjoyed this week’s Smackdown.
Bar – or should I say, burn… – her ring attire, Tiffany was damn good. I guess how powerlifting makes her more of a brawler than a ‘high-flyer’ like girls like Kelly. I hope we get to see more from her.
After reading the spoilers, I kind of expected it to be a one-sided match, but I expected it to be all Michelle, with Tiffany just getting in a couple of moves. I was impressed, though.
Next week – Tiffany & Beth vs Michelle & Layla, please WWE :) ? X
Of course it was crappy. The marks that run the site though lets be honest are desperate for any younger diva to show anything because they can’t stand how popular Kelly is. Noticie at least a few cheapshots from them in this thread.
KK is the best packaged diva of this generation. Just like Liz in her day, Sable in her day, Trish in her day. The constant hating on her isn’t going to change that. The fans have spoken and her popularity isn’t an accident. She is highly likeable, commands attention, and is flashy. And be being durable she has been on TV a ton wrestleing which builds familiarity with the fans.
KK has been wrestling on live tv since she was 20 years old. And became a star in the process. Often having to have singles matches with people like Maryse, Alicia, Jillian. Her last superstars matches agaisnt Beth and Gail are two of the longer diva matches of the year. Shes wrestled more on TV than Eve, Tiffany, Serena, Savannah combined.
Tiffany has one short taped match where she dosent do much and its way oversold.

nachos — I love how the moment we say something unfavourable towards your favourite Diva, we’re ‘marks’. Judging by your long comment hailing Kelly as if she’s the second coming, it’s you who’s the mark…
are you kidding me nachos?
Tiffany will be 10x better than Kelly in the future.
@ nachos – Yeah, well Tiffany displayed something last night that I’ve never seen from Kelly Kelly, and that is passion. She legitimately looked like she was trying to kick some ass, whereas girls like Kelly Kelly fluff absolutely everything and look like they are merely performing a dance routine. Take a look at Trish Stratus vs. Stephanie McMahon. There wasn’t much wrestling, but it was a damn good match. Why? Passion and storytelling.
Furthermore, Kelly Kelly’s popularity isn’t because of her wrestling ability (or lack thereof). Simply put, it’s because many think that she’s hot (and a face). That’s why her ass gets put on 7-Eleven cups.
The best packaged Diva of this generation? Give me a break.
I do agree with nachos in the sense that I think a lot of the Kelly hate spawns from the fact that she’s pretty, popular and blonde, tbh. And to say she’s not passionate is kinda ridiculous…she’s not a hellcat like Melina, but look at how far she’s come as a wrestler and performer. She’s miles and miles ahead of the likes of Eve, who is popular on this site. Alicia Fox too. Those two are incredibly awkward in the ring, whereas Kelly Kelly just goes for it and looks natural doing it. Sure, she has a limited moveset, but so do most WWE wrestlers, and at least she doesn’t attempt moves that she looks horrible doing like certain other divas do.
Well i haven’t been this impressed with a diva match/segment in a long time! Tiffany was great! im glad there’s another baby face that doesn’t make me cringe lol
lay-cool were great as always :D and Beth got a great reaction from the crowd! it’s nice to see wwe fans gettin behind the divas! goodluck to Tiffany!
I agree with seasons-of-love, people need to back off kelly kelly the fact is she has improved in the ring and you can tell by watching her that she’s working her ass off!
@nachos did you really just compare miss clothesline clothsline dropkick dropkick Tilt-a-whirl spinning headscissors takedown to Sable, Miss Elizabeth and Trish.
I loved last nights segment. Vickie running away was hilarious and I was so glad to see Beth get involved. I was very impressed with Tiffany.
