TNA has removed the ‘First Blood Match’ stipulation to this Sunday’s Knockouts Championship match between Daffney and Tara.
Earlier today, the company’s website uploaded a graphic which had the match labelled as such despite the stipulation not being mentioned on last night’s episode of Impact. It looks as though the stipulation has been dropped as the graphic has once again been changed with it now a seemingly a singles match for the belt.
Frankly, I much prefer this. I don’t think a stipulation match, as cool as it would be, is the best way to kick off a feud. Hopefully this will be the first in a series of matches between Daffney and Tara for the belt and I personally feel that the first match should always be a straight singles match and then you can go into stipulations in a rematch.

Mel I see where you are coming from on this. Besides a first blood match would be perhaps what Daffney wanted. But as you said, if there is to be a feud this type of match wouldn’t start it…END IT perhaps.
great news. i still wouldn’t like daffney to win the belt, though. not yet anyway. if they put enough care and attention into this feud, it could span another month or two. a lockdown finish (with a new champion) would be cool. and then maybe hamada could reappear and start a program with dafrfney. that match they had when hamada debuted was brilliant.
I see what you mean. Look at how they vlew the whole Tara/Kong feud by putting them in a cage in their first (and perhaps only) single’s match.
In any case I hope the feud continues and Daffney gets a title run eventually. With Kong nearly gone and a huge void for the top heel role, I think Daffney would be a strong replacement.
I’m glad they removed that stipulation as well. There was no point to it, it was totally random.
I would like to see a first blood stipulation added to the Mr. Anderson vs Kurt Angle match though.
I expect Tara to retain, but in a way that allows this feud to continue. Maybe a surprise roll up followed by Daffney delivering a savage beating, maybe drawing blood. THEN you go to the first blood match.
Good, i rather have a regular match. Gimmick matches should be saved for special occasions, and only when it makes sense for the storyline.
I’m kind of glad, I’m not mad on first blood matches i think it’s kinda unnecessary, so I’m glad, i think when this feud is ending it should be done with a tables match or a ladder match

Perhaps they may have uploaded the wrong graphic? I think we will get a First Blood match from the two eventually, but what I think they’re going to do is have a Singles match between Tara and Daffney first, which is good. I’m hoping Tara goes over Daffney clean and we get a little more build up into some kind of storyline (I mean we get it, Daffney is crazy but aside from attacking Tara and ‘snapping’ in all of her matches, there really hasn’t been any sort of storyline development so hoping they go a little deeper with this.) A ‘First-Blood’ match later down the road would be definately be interesting!
I JUST HOPE they dont do a WWE and have tara and daffney constantly wrestling every week, like they do in WWE…or at least it seems that way..same girls..same results..lol
I’m really glad they changed the match into a regular one. First Blood might seems to be really good and brutal but this would be way to early. They’re at the beginning so a normal singles match is the best way to start.
This is a good move on TNA’s part provided that (a.) they didn’t just remove the stipulation because it’s a women’s match and (b.) they plan to prolong this feud. I think that a first blood match is too big a step for such a premature feud.
And, as much as I love Daffney, (and I do LIKE her more than Tara) I don’t think that it’s the right time for her to be champion yet. I know that TNA likes to be “unpredictable” but the timing would be a bit off considering that these two need to build up a good climax first. They need to get the fans behind them with Tara being shown as a formidable champion and Daffney being shown as a relentless challenger.
Also, if they do decide to end it with a stipulation match, I wouldn’t mind since that gives more room for a fan to perceive the strength of Tara who won’t be getting much after losing the title. I would just love it if TNA could find a way to keep every one of their knockouts alive because they do have a very VERY talented roster.
As much as I would love to see my first ever First Blood Female’s match, I prefer they continue the feud and use it as an End, not a Beggining.
This should have at least been a no DQ match. Daffney doesn’t care about win/loss records, just hurting people. Allowing Tara to use weapons would even things up.
