Five time Women’s Champion, Mickie James has pushed back the release of her debut album ‘Strangers & Angels’ which was due for release next week. In a new blog, Mickie told fans that the album will now be released in mid-May.
She writes: “I have come to the decision to push back the release of my album “Strangers & Angels” to mid May. After WrestleMania, after the Draft, after the tours… . main focus now, as it should be, is to get myself 150% for WrestleMania first and foremost.”
Mickie, who was treated for staph infection earlier this month also discusses the extent of her injuries which threatens to take her out of the WrestleMania mix:
Then, this is the second time in 2 months that I have ever been sent home from the road, both for the same reason. A Staph Infection, but not just any, as I found out in the hospital it’s MRSA. The first was from the most recent Mexico Tour where I was sent to Tampa to be treated. Then it came back worse than before this last time during the live event Loop in Texas where I was sent home. Then immediately admitted to the hospital in Richmond. To all the WWE universe who came to any of the shows or have watched in the last few weeks to see me. I am truly sorry and please know that I wanted to be there more than anything. Both times I tried to fight it, I fought with the doctors. I fought with my boss.. to just let me work through it, “its just an infection.. No big deal… I’ve worked through worse with a smile on my face” but thankfully for me, they wouldn’t hear of it! I cant express how truly grateful I am that they didn’t listen to me.
I didn’t realize the severity of the infection and how bad it was. When i was admitted into the hospital I went straight into surgery to get the infection out of my body. They also told me I wouldn’t make it to Wrestlemania. I told them they were wrong.. Watch me! When I woke up i was devastated… My leg was in an immobilizer, my knee was sliced open with tubes coming from it t help drain it. As the days passed in the hospital I found out more and more about the infection, about how bad mine truly was. The nurses also explained to me what could have happened if it had gone a little longer untreated. The infection had already gotten into my bloodstream and I was extremely ill.. A few more day meant I could have lost my leg.. Even my life… So I really want to take this moment to say thank you to them all from the bottom of my heart… To our Doctors, the Dr.’s who treated me, and my Boss(who always has to deal with my stubborn ways..haha)! It is because of you that I am getting better everyday, That I am able to write this, that I have my leg, that I have my life, I love you, God Bless You!

OMG ! Mickie ! Im so glad they got the infection out….
Im glad that Mickie shows she really cares abt her job nd her fans but Her health comes first . So Mickie your #1 Fan is here and waiting for you 2 come back take your time…
i hope she does fully recover soon, but i’d rather her not come back just to steal the show at wrestlemania. the smackdown diva scene has been shaping up pretty nicely these last few weeks. i wouldn’t be too against them sending mickie back to raw at the trade. somewhere they need a crowd reaction during the matches as well as more than a tiny handful of divas who can actually wrestle well.
Threatening your life (by being stubborn just to show how much you love what you do) is far from professional… and definitely not pretty wise. I’m glad she okay, but and athlete should be careful about their health. One mistake can ruin the dream.

mffl413 lol, i hate when that happens. Anyway, I really had no clue that it was that bad, i’m not really a fan of hers but i hate hearing that. But, I’m glad its out and she’s gonna be ok. It must suck knowing that what you work so hard for and the pay per view everyone dreams about going to, you can’t compete in.
omg i didn’t realize this was so dangerous i hadn’t heard of this thing until Mickie got it treated I’m still not really sure what it is or how you get it, I’m just glad she got it treated in time.
sure she doesn’t get to go to mania this year, but she won against Trish at mania that’s a huge achievement
Might be the end of her WWE run maybe her career, Staph is a NASTY thing and a wrestling ring is a breeding ground.
If…..she comes back, she is in “Creative has nothing for you black hole territory”.
Beth will be # 1 face on Smackdown with Tiffany, and if Eve is getting the monster push on Raw they cant draft her back, she’ll steal Eve’s pop, plus they just did Mickie/Maryse.
Last year when the company went on the post-WM European Tour……”future endeavors” were wished, she could quietly be let go then. She’s had a lot of heat this year from the office.
She’s not going to be in any physical condition to work WM, so figure its Beth/Vicki in a LumberJill 1 minute squash………biggest POP of the night when Vicki eats a GlamSlam.
i hope when she come back crazy mickie james return go postal on beth and one night on smacktown she come down to the ring call beth out and tell here she has a gift 4 here and it tiff in side the box like she did ashley lol
I didnt read the whole blog but she should be careful not to come back early just because of wrestlemania otherwise she could do some serious ‘permanent’ damage!
and it’s not like we desperately need her back anytime soon, michelle and beth are basically carrying the women’s division right now and their doing a good job of it!
