Last night’s episode of WWE Superstars saw The Bella Twins return to action from yet another hiatus, and I don’t know about you but it looks as though they’ve improved from the last time we saw them. Perhaps their mom, dubbed the ‘Bella Mom’, who is in attendance proved to be a lucky charm? The Bellas took on the veteran team of Jillian and Katie Lea in tag team action. Watch below:
Before the match, we see Katie Lea cutting a rare promo in her cute British accent before being cut off by Jillian who breaks into a rendition of Britney Spears’ ’3′. She, of course, is interrupted by the Bellas’ entrance and we have ourselves a match.
Bella #1 starts things out with Katie Lea. The two lock up before Katie slams Bella to the canvas and goes for a quick pin but to no avail. Katie hits a scoop slam and goes for an elbow drop but the twin moves out of the way. The twin then applies an armlock on Katie and hits a beautiful arm drag running up the turnbuckles. She then tags out to Bella #2 who hits a sunset flip on Katie.
Katie begins taking control of Bella #2 with a knee to the stomach and throws her into the corner however the twin counters with a jumping snapmare. Katie kicks out of a near fall and takes control again, shoving the Bella into her corner and tagging out to Jillian. Jillian throws the twin against the ropes but she counters with a kick to Jillian’s face and throws her into the corner for a well executed monkey flip, meanwhile tagging back out to Bella #1. The Bellas hit a double clothesline but Jillian kicks out of a pin fall.
Jillian begins fighting back with forearms, throwing Bella #1 into the corner, Jillian runs at her but eats an elbow. Bella sits up on the top turnbuckle as Katie Lea comes at her and gets a boot for her troubles. The twin then climbs onto Jillian’s shoulders, presumably for a victory roll, but instead Jillian slams her down onto the canvas which looked like it hurt. The Bella on the outside screams ‘Nikki’, so we finally learn some minutes later that Bella #1 is Nikki and Brie is on the outside. Shouldn’t it be the announcers’ job to identify them for the viewer? Is that too much to ask?
Jillian goes for a cover and gets a two count on Nikki. Jillian then hits a front-first hair toss on Nikki and tags out to Lea. Katie kicks Nikki in the midsection as Jillian props her up and then hits a backbreaker on the twin and another near fall. Katie applies an octopus stretch but Nikki begins fighting back before being knocked right back down.
Jillian tags in and hits a submission on Nikki and tries to subdue her as she tries to crawl to her corner. Eventually, Nikki makes it and tags in the fresh Brie who hits the ring with authority with two very crisp dropkicks followed be a clothesline and overhead neckbreaker. Katie Lea tries to interfere but as the referee keeps her out, in comes Nikki and the two hit a double bulldog on Jillian. Brie goes for a pin but Katie Lea breaks up the count by grabbing Brie by the hair. She tries to throw Brie against the ropes but Brie reverses, on the outside Nikki trips up Katie and Brie dropkicks her out of the ring.
In the ring meanwhile, Jillian now back on her feet goes for the face buster but Brie blocks it and Jillian lands on her ass. Brie goes for a unique roll up and picks up the victory for the twins.
This was a surprisingly good match with the Bella Twins showing some flare in the ring. Their moves were well executed and looked crisp and clean particularly that armdrag by Nikki running up the turnbuckles and the dropkicks by Brie. The dropkicks in particular, seem so simple but are often hit sloppily by other girls yet Brie’s were very well done. Both twins did a great job and have seemingly improved. Good match.

Its nice to see some improvement from The Bella Twins, If only they would be used more often in Matches instead of guest host skits. But the match was very enjoyable. :)
I enjoyed the match, I love the fact that the Bella Twins are imprving on the in-ring skills. :)
That corner armdrag isn’t anything new. Nikki was doing them in her first couple of matches.
I don’t know why people are so surprised the Bellas did so good. They aren’t bad when it comes to executing and they know how to do a dropkick the right way. Better yet, the hot tag actually comes across as a hot tag.
Good match.
Have to say, I’m a bit shocked. That was an amazingly well-executed match. If the Bellas can repeat that performance or even improve on it, the WWE might actually have the first viable womens tag-team since the JBA (that’s Jumping Bomb Angels for you youngsters). Kudos Bellas!!
the bellas did good but I still don’t like them, they have no purpose in the womens division. IDK why but I like the way Jillian sells moves, I think she’s good at it(she’s had practice over the years). Someone like Katie lea should be in TNA, she would make a great top heel and TNA would love her since she was from WWE lol
i hope jillian gets traded to smackdown this year, she has nothing left to do on Raw
why are you guys surprised ? the bellas have always been good at doing moves lol they just don’t get the time to shine. that was a nice promo too loved it !
I don’t know why everyone’s so shocked, the Bellas have always been good at hitting their moves. I just want to see them step it up now.
This match was a very good outing, and I agree about th dropkick thing. None of the new girls know how to hit a decent looking dropkick, but the Bellas can. I’ve always found Nikki to be better than Brie in the ring, but this match proved that they’re equals.
Overall, a nice treat of a match.
The Bellas have never been as bad as most seem to think, it’s quite shocking to me how many people think they are bad wrestlers when they pretty much turn out good performances every time they are in the ring. They are the best eye candy wrestlers the WWE has, they just don’t know how to package them because there are two of them and without Women’s tag titles, their simple minds can’t fathom how to get these girls really going. I guarantee that if Kelly or Eve could wrestle like them they’d already have the Diva’s title on ‘em.
RKOyou….
The Bellas Have A Purpose In The WWE, they have improved time come. they trained in FCW for a year or so. they sell there moves great, they try there best not to botch. there eye candy which WWE love’s which makes them perfect for the WWE its not like maryse who has no potential to being a wrestler but just a preppy french barbie doll, at least they try in the ring. and i dont think katie is ready for TNA yet she still needs better moves in the ring her finisher is way beyond awful. she isnt at the Hamada,Taylor,Sarita level yet but maybe in 2 years she would be ready.
true the bella twins arent bad in the ring but the main reason people think they stink at wrestling is because of there slutty ways they act to every guest host but there the kind of divas who do impresive moves there not at the high flying level yet like hamada, sarita and taylor but there getting there same with kellykelly.
The Bellas were always fun to watch, I’m not a big fan but I never placed them in the same category as Eve and Rosa, they’re even better than K2 and Maryse inside the ring, they can put up an interesting match.
Jillian = LOVE! I’m so biased when it comes to Jillian, she’s just adorable.
“why are you guys surprised ? the bellas have always been good at doing moves”
The Bellas always sucked, their basic moves like dropkicks and clotheslines didnt look convincing (even seriously injured someone), they didnt sell, and rarely executed moves other than the basic stuff that you learn in your first few weeks in training.
But i have to admit, their last 2 matches were very good. I watched this match several times to see any big mistakes but couldnt really find any, even their dropkicks looked good this time. So by some miracle they suddenly became better than Rosa, Kelly and Eve, maybe even Alicia. I dont know what changed though, maybe they trained more? One thing i didnt like was, one of the Bellas on the outside pulled Jillian’s leg. That kind of stuff should be restricted to heels.
They also looked strong in this match. Usually they are dominated the entire match. So i hope they continue to grow like they did in their last 2 matches. But lets not forget that they had Katie/Jillian to make them look good. If it was a match against Rosa/Alicia like in the past it would probably be terrible again ;-)
Mikas- One of the Bellas pulled Katies leg, not Jillians
i agree rodneyclint, since they’re 2 of them, it’s really hard to give them any kind of push because all WWE has are female singles titles and without tag titles, theirs really nothing for them but being the arm candy to the guest hosts. It’s really a shame because they’re really good and have surpassed kelly, Eve, maria, Rosa and maybe even Alicia
I’m not one of those people who bashes a woman wrestler that hasn’t come from the indies like some do. If you’re good in the ring, then I will applaud you and even though I’m not a fan of the bellas, they did really good in this match
I love the bella twins! They are awesome wrestlers!!! I hope jillian and katie gets some win tho.
Bella Twins have never sucked they just have been given crappy opponents when they are on the main shows and not Superstars. Once WWE gets rid of Maryse (Even though I love her), Kelly, and Rosa they will be fine. Eve is still not good but she’s improving more than Kelly Kelly has and Kelly Kelly has had more ring time than her. Tiffany definitely has some potential from what I saw on Smackdown. Even though Jillian is hideous and annoying she can hang with the top wrestling divas like Mickie, Melina, Natalya, Beth, Gail, and Katie. Alicia Fox needs her old hair back and different ring attire then I will take her seriously.
“Bella Twins have never sucked they just have been given crappy opponents”
The majority of their matches were against Victoria, Natalya, Katie Lea, and Jillian. Are those crappy opponents?
The Bellas shocked me there. Crisply done execution of moves by them and a pretty decent match to boot.
I agree, the Bella’s had a really strong showing. I like how when they do their moves, they don’t like stiff or awkward. The fact that they can get a crowd behind them, shows that they have a personality and they can be entertaining without doing a “Rana” or a “Somersault Flip”.
I mean as much as I love Kelly. Her match this past RAW was hard to watch. She has the looks and personality but that catfight with the punches just look awkward and stiff to me. Eve, I love the improvement but she looks stiff in her closelines. I mean, I feel like when i’m watching Eve or Kelly, I’m watching their moves on repeat. They never do anything new or exciting, especially Kelly.
I like though that they have these matches on Superstars, they’re able to have a nice crisp promo and a well match to top it off. I wouldn’t want to see this on RAW because they would make sure it’s a cluster and 1 minute.
i think the match was good, i liked the pin at the end it was one that your like “what is she doing”" wile watching XD
I’m surprised by the Bella Twins cause I never thought they were that good. I shouldn’t say they because I always thought Nikki was pretty good. There last few outing have been pretty good and it shows that they are improving in the ring. I think if the WWE really wants to showcase them they really need to be split up during the draft. Just because they are twins it doesn’t mean they have to be on the same show. I really would like to see Nikki hold the Diva’s Championship one day.
I agree that for the Bellas to progress on either brand they’re going to have to be split up. You can possibly build storylines around whether or not they can survive on their own. Now of course this would be quite a ways off, and a bit a wishful thinking, but it would be cool to see them progress to the level of ultimately facing one another.
And it doesn’t have to be the over-done sibling vs. sibling feud ala Owen vs. Bret, & Jeff vs. Matt. I think a match for the Diva’s title ( let’s say Nikki wins it one day), between them but both as faces could really be hyped up and get a big crowd reaction. Think a poor man’s version of Rey Mysterio vs. Evan Bourne
i never find the bella twin interesting at all.. not even the fact that they’re twin, they brought nothing, the switcharo is just too predictable . their wrestling skill is ok, (nikki is better than brie but really that isnt saying much.) it feels nothing behind it either, i dont see passion/fire when they wrestler, they just do it because they know it… i feel like i wanna yawn all the time whenever i see them inside the ring.
just my 2cent.
this was a good match but im hoping the writers let the bellas show more skill in the ring they can wrestle & use katie or let her go they never seem to know what to do with her..
kelly, eve & maryse need to be used backstage the bellas can go whiole the others cant..
jillian we all love u i mean ur hilarious but the only problem i have wit her is her implants & lip implants if she got them smaller maybe she’d look better….
Seems as though the point I was going to make has already been touched upon, but I’ll re-inforce it. The twins are holding each other back, and they will never be pushed unless they are split up. If they were split up and they only got together in cross brand ‘special’ matches, then their twin switching would be somewhat fresh again. i hope one of them is drafted to Smackdown! in the Supplemental Draft. Good match though, a rookie Diva not doing a 1 foot dropkick, Wow!
i use to hate the bellas! but honestly they are more exciting to watch than kelly kelly maryse and eve. I like how they have unique moves and get a decent crowd reaction throughout the whole match
I’m shocked too to be honest. Oh and the Bella Twins mom is super pretty. And I love the comments made by King about their mom. “You know I saw her earlier and I said great job.” I know that usually he’s the one who started the puppies thing but every once in a while he says some other things entertaining. Anyway I’m almost Team Bella Twins now. Haha.
now i really know that more than 100 girls in WWE sure better than Maryse – WWE beloved Divas Champion
Good match, really…Glad to see them wrestle once in a while! xD
