WrestleMania isn’t just the grandest stage of them all for wrestling — it’s also the one time of year when Superstars and Divas put that extra mile into creating show-stopping ring attire. WrestleMania for ring attire is like the red carpet at the Oscars, this is the one outfit that you must get right because it will be etched in the annals in history forever! So, being the style hounds that we are, we’ve delved into the history books to bring you some of the best and worst looks from WrestleManias past!
The Best
Beth Phoenix, WrestleMania 25
Just last year, the Glamazon certainly looked dramatic in all the right ways for the Miss WrestleMania battle royal in her silver Glamasuit complete with a cape. This had a Roman gladiator feel to it that fits perfectly with Beth. Too bad that given the nature of the awful match she wore it in, we barely got to see Beth’s outfit on the show but it was definitely a striking look for Beth. Perhaps she could get away with wearing it two years in a row tomorrow night? After all, no one really got a good look at it last year and it seems like such a waste! I mean, we’d be pissed. However, Beth can seek comfort in the fact that we consider it to be Glam Slam-ingly breathtaking.
Chyna, WrestleMania 17
Not to sound offensive but Chyna was never really known for her femininity during her time with WWE. Often seen in black and built like one of the guys, Chyna’s venture into the women’s division in 2001 saw a more feminine side to the 9th Wonder of the World. For WrestleMania 17, Chyna ditched the black and went with a captivating purple ensemble and even accesorized! Not dissimilar to Beth’s headband above, Chyna sported some funky headgear too and even a choker around her neck. This was not the hard-faced, braid-wearing Diva we had met several years prior. Chyna looked great and had a picture perfect moment that night when she added another accessory to her outfit — the Women’s Championship.

Melina, WrestleMania 24
One Diva who has always known the grandeur of a WrestleMania outfit is Melina. She made her debut at WrestleMania 23 in an outfit that WWE.com considered one of the best ring attires in ‘Mania history. We agree — to an extent. Her hoodie was a nice touch. But one year later, this was an outfit that made her prior one look like roadkill left to rot! This striking electric blue and black combo immediately catches your eye. The shade of blue used is perfection — it’s bright, it’s piercing and it’s unforgettable. The detailing on the top is also intricate and beautiful. Then there’s the feathers. What better way to make a dramatic, memorable entrance than that?
Trish Stratus, WrestleMania 20
Not a ring attire per se but I remember loving this look at WrestleMania 20 when I saw Trish come out. In fact, I still do. The sleek and stylish Stratus wore the hell out of that cropped jacket but it was the bottom half that I particularly loved. Trish made combat pants look sexy as she tucked them into a pair of sexier high heeled boots that I still love to this day. Stratus looked kind of tomboy-ish but with her own twist that made it look like a sexy, Stratusfying outfit.
Trish Stratus, WrestleMania 21
Making the list twice because she’s just that nice, Trish Stratus. The Diva defended her Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 21 against Christy Hemme and her outfit at the event was a little unorthodox but I loved it. Consider it to be a wrestling version of a suit as Trish had the hat, the suspenders and looked extremely dapper at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood in 2005. I really liked Trish’s vision here and I think it came together great and she pulled it off. This was a super cute outfit from Trish, perhaps only second to the one above.
The Worst
Ashley, WrestleMania 23
Considering the controversy surrounding Ashley in her final months with WWE [Ashleygate], there are many jokes that could be made looking back at her outfit at WrestleMania 23. We won’t make them… but they could be made. Passing off lingerie, and trashy lingerie at that, as wrestling attire made Ashley stick out like a sore thumb at ‘Mania 23 — for all the wrong reasons. Her corset and fishnets were about as classy as sex in public. Then again, her outfit a year later at WrestleMania 24 was no better. Oh, that Ashley. How she even got on a ‘Mania card let alone two is beyond us.
Maria, WrestleMania 25
Had Maria known this would be her last WrestleMania… well, actually, I don’t think she’d have gone for something better. Just like the rest of Maria’s wardrobe through the years, this piece of ring attire was bewildering, perplexing and a hot mess to the nth degree. No doubt this was another home-made creation from Ms Kanellis — combing her love of animal print with tassles and far too much overaccessorizing.
Rosa Mendes, WrestleMania 25
Another offender from last year’s pack of ‘Mania Divas was the usually stylish Rosa Mendes. Thankfully she’s given up the gaudy metallic ring attire since then but there’s no unthinking this one. Looking like Bella Twin #3, Rosa’s pleated skirt only fed my anger for wrestling in skirts that much more. There was far too much of one colour here, especially in a fugly metallic colour too — it’s enough to nauseate you.
Tori, WrestleMania 15
Perhaps the biggest ‘WTF?!’ in not only WrestleMania history, but Divas history, is Tori’s body suit at WrestleMania 15. I’m not quite sure what Tori was going for here — something ‘out there’ and at one with nature, perhaps? How that turned into this fugly concoction is beyond me and frankly seeing this again after all these years gives me second hand embarassment. Oh Tori…

i actually really like tori’s outfit, but only due to it being so memorable. chyna’s conjures up great memories, too. her and ivory’s feud will always be high up there for me.
beth looks great, but i’m not too keen on how superhero-y she does look. i guess it does go hand in hand with her gimmick, though.
I really liked all of Trish’s outfits tbh. I loved her silver one from WM19 & her WM21 attire. Beth looked beautiful but dominant last year.
Tori was like the Maria of her time, only better at wrestling, she never got the best pick of the wardrobe, but at least unlike Maria she wasn’t responsible for desgining half of them. I actually liked most of the WM outfits last year, just because they were new, I mean we waited a year for the costume staff to finally change their costumes, so anything was a blessing- plus the outfits were a lot more glam than usual.
I really like Rosa there and in her skirts, I don’t see what the big feminist fuss is with a woman wearing a skirt in the ring, I mean it’s like getting angry at men for wearing shorts, its just something different! The woman have to tell their own characters personality, especially Divas like Rosa who aren’t given segment time to do it, Rosa’s one of the best looking Divas imo, the outfit just shows it. The other thing is, the skirts they were now go over the top of the underwear, like Tiffany’s did, it’s not like you can see everything underneath like you could when Mickie wore them.
I didn’t really like the Trish one, the second of hers I did, it’s a little Serena Mancini, but still I really loved it when I saw her come out in it, and even with the first I can see from looking at it what she did when she wore it. Chyna’s just evokes memories of her injury, but I loved hers and Ivory’s feud, it was probably the best of its time, it’s just a shame she’s mentioned so little (same with Ivory) compared to Trish and Lita.
I don’t like the Melina one, it’s not my favourite of hers there, she does look good in about anything, but I just hate the colour of that one- my favourite Melina outfit in general would’ve been that feathered one she wore on her debut, it was just so weird but suited her personality so well.
As for Ashley? It was fitting with everything she wore, I must be the only one unaware of Ashleygate, but still it’s blah…
what about mickies WM 22 attire and Trishs 18, 19, and 22 attire, those were also nice
I think Trish has the best track record for picking awesome ring attires just for WM and the best part of it is, she never wears those outfits again after mania, making her WM moments more special. One of my small pet peeves is when a diva wears the outfit she wore at mania continiously after event ie mickies outfit last year, she wore that thing like every week following

Sorry Ashley haters, but I liked her outfits and her style. Sure a lot of things she did/has done are questionable, and she wasn’t a good wrestler, but she had a punk rock style about her that I liked. Sure Lita rocked the punk style a bit better but that didn’t stop me from liking Ashley’s.
I’ve never liked Maria’s outfits, since she started designing them herself. To much feathers…ugh. And hated the bodysuit Tori had.
Oooh, I liked this post. Trish is notoriously known for a number of things, and picking the best Mania’ outfits is one of them. Am I the only one that noticed how uber-sexy she looked RIGHT AFTER turning on Jericho?! Like, really. When she came in I was like, “Meh”, but when she slapped the crap out of him TWICE I was like, “Oooooh, yum”.
Melina looked gorgeous last year, but doesn’t she always? Beth’s outfit was lovely, and I wish she would’ve worn it more. I still hope she doesn’t wear it tomorrow again, though.
Chyna’s outfit looked nice, but that whole peacock, nature boy thing should’ve been added in.
More “bests” include, well, all of Trish’s previous outfits, especially the Wrestlemania 19 one, should be there. Mickie’s WM 22 should be there. And finallly Sable’s, Molly’s, and Victoria’s outfits should be there.

I always liked Ashley too, I loved her punkyness, it was like a feminine version of Lita in a non copied fashion.
Ashley is punky in real life, it wasn’t an act or anything.
I think Beth’s is just vile, Melina’s is ok, but she’s had the same old attire for ages, it’s ok just how many years now..

Rosa = Not THAT bad, yeah it was odd but how many pictures did Diva Dirt actually go through, because she is always rated so low, she isn’t even that bad, she’s very good looking nowadays and yet she always gets picked on, at least she hasn’t wrestled in a while!

Chyna’s Wrestlemania moment at Wrestlemania 17 was truely one to remember. Her most famous Wrestlemania match, and sadly her last.

I loved all of MELINA’S WM outfits especially 24 i thought TRISH’S WM 22 was a good one to. i didn’t like TORRIE WILSON’S outfit last year it kinda looked like she came from the gym got her hair done and went to the ring lol but i liked MOLLY’S i took me back to her mighty molly days. and ASHLEY’S outfit just looked like she woke up that same morning and said ” oh shoot i gotta go to the mall and get me something to wear tonight” smh.
Candice and Torrie at WM22 was probably the best 2 divas have ever looked IMO. Although it wasn’t ring attire.
Trish always had something special for WM. Her WM 22 ad 19 attires were my favorites.
Melina’s WM24 attire would be next. She looked so hot that night.

Agree with Chyna and the two Trish’s; they were great outfits.
Beth and Melina’s were just regular outfits really; not bad but not outstanding. Rosa’s was pretty basic as well so wasn’t the worst.
Couldn’t DISAGREE more about Tori’s being a bad outfit. While it wasn’t the most stylish thing (you’re not gonna walk out to the shops in it are you?) it COMPLETELY fitted the environment and the era in general (when outfits could still be a bit out there). Looking back it looks weird, but in a few years people will probably think that the girls now are dressed like dominatrix’s, drag queens or hookers (Project Runway 2007 already did!). It was a very unique look, it was sexy and memorable. I remember seeing that Wrestlemania back in the day and thinking how awesome she looked. I suppose if I saw it for the first time now I wouldn’t like it but knowing the time period I still think it looks awesome.
I can’t disagree on any choices, but I really liked Lita’s Wrestlemania 21 attire, even if she just managed. Trish’s WM22 would’ve made my worst list as I hated it, along with Miss Jackie’s WM20. those feather armbands were weird lol
Michelle McCool at WM 25 was good pretty good as well and I agree with the Melina choice.
Meh Ashley’s WM 23 attire was a little too tacky for me, I mean if you’re gonna wear a corset/skirt at least pick one that isn’t made out of plastic or whatever the hell it was made of. I did like her WM 24 attire though, she looked great in pink and black.
Never cared for Trish’s outfits, they were always so boring to me. As for Maria’s I enjoyed hers the last two WM’s she was apart of, it was definitely some thing different. And I’m glad to see Rosa has finally ditched the ruffles.
For the worst I would’ve picked the Bella’s or Sunny’s. Particularly Sunny’s, nothing good to say there.
Trish’s wrasstlemania 19 + 20 outfits were PERFECTION.
I always loved that outfit on Chyna! She looked amazing in it and very beautiful. And Beth’s ring attire is awesome – one of the best and it suits her perfectly! I’ve never liked Melina’s ring attire but I love the way she does her hair (now, not when she was with MNM). Rosa’s outfit suits her. Trish’s Wrestlemania 21 one was one of my favorites of hers (though I was never wild about her attires) but my favorite of all of that belt she wore with the LED readout – I want one of those so much! Maybe it wasn’t at a WrestleMania (can’t remember) but it was cool.
JJ, good point about how we’ll look back on what they were wearing now. And Project Runway was right – they do dress like hookers/porn stars. lol The truth is the truth!
I hated Beth’s outfit at WM25, I didn’t think it was nice at all.
Chyna’s WM17 outfit was good, and she also looked the spitting image of Cher lol
Trish’s look at WM20 was awesome, it was different but she rocked it.
Trish’s also looked good in the silver outfit that she wore at WM19.
Worst ones gotta be between Tori and Ashley, they’re just…*facepalm* lol

I agree with these, except for Tori’s. I loved that outfit, IMO she was going for a ‘tiger’ feel. Later in RAW mag, there was a piece which featured her in a studio doing body paint photos. One of the pics was where she’d been painted like her WM bodysuit, same design and colors. It was a gorgeous photo, and shoot overall. But since I like tigers, I loved her WM outfit.
I disagree with the pick for Beth’s best. I much preferred her Mania 24 gear. The blue was perfect on her and Melina. Loved Lita’s WM22 gear.
Hated most of Trish’s mania outfits except for WM20/WM22. WM 19 was cameltoe galore lol.
I’m not the one to follow fashion rules so I love Maria’s outfit.

Also is it me or do people have their heads up trish’s rear? Sorry dd and fans, people need to remember more then then this past decade. Miss Elizabeth had some of the best outfits even changing a few times during one of the wm’s and looking great in all of them.
