Diva Dirt begins a new tradition during WrestleMania weekend this year — the Alternative WrestleMania Match. Given WWE’s subpar treatment of the Divas around this time, we decided to take matters into our own hands and give women’s wrestling fans a WrestleMania worthy match of our own.

The Alternative ‘Mania Match, each year, will spotlight the very best in independent women’s wrestling. There is a world out there beyond the Divas and the Knockouts and with this free stream, we hope to introduce fans to the amazing women’s wrestling that is out there just waiting to be seen!

This year’s Alternative Match comes from ChickFight, in conjunction with Pro Wrestling Revolution, and is between Cheerleader Melissa aka Alissa Flash and MsChif. Watch below:

For comments from Melissa & MsChif on this match, follow the cut:

Commenting to Diva Dirt, Melissa says of this match: “One of my most brutal matches with MsChif. I just remember how insane that day was… including the fans. But definitely one of my most memorable matches.”

Speaking to Diva Dirt, current SHIMMER Champion, MsChif said: “Melissa is definitely one of the most talented women in wrestling. I know every time I get in the ring with her it’s going to be something great. This match for PWR was one of those examples. I look forward to every match with Melissa because I know we’ll both put everything we have into it. Every time we wrestle, we’ll both come out bruised and sore and yet never regret a thing we did. This match was certainly no exception. It was among the top matches of our most grueling.

It’s awesome to hear that Diva Dirt would choose this match as their first to showcase as an Alternative ‘Mania Match. It’s a type of match you’ll unfortunately never have the opportunity to see on TV, let alone ‘Mania. So hopefully the fans of women’s wrestling will pick up on Diva Dirt’s alternative ‘Mania matches and log in to some great times!”

  1. I love clickwrestle!!! they have a ton of womens matches for very very cheap!!! and they are great ones..love melissa vs rain or it is raisa saiid vs rain..lol

  2. Well, I will say that their in ring and ringside work was very, very good. Two very tough women with a varitey of moves and tons of charisma. But I didn’t like when they went buckwild all over that gym, it was too crazy to follow. In all fairness, I never have liked it when the WWE did things all over the arenas either. I really like Melissa, she’s a pretty girl who is not afraid to get dirty. Mischif on the other hand, is like another version of Daffney to me and I’ve never been too keen on the really psychotic, weird character. I loved Victoria because she was just a little crazy. All in all I give this a 4.5/5 with the only downfall being all the crazy hardcore stuff that took place in the bleachers, ramp, etc.

ps: Melissa looks a lot like one of the Bellas, so I say the WWE should bring her in as their sister and let her go crazy on some Divas hehe

  3. i would have to say that…
    this sucks! :D

really i dont know what is the big deal about this.. all the moveset looks planned, and you only get locks, leg locks, arm locks, head locks, the chairs slams look like didnt hurt, soo..

    blaaaaaaah

  4. ^ Yeah who needs a thirty minute match with America’s finest female talent when we can have a fifty second one on Raw? Seriously my jaw hit the floor once the match went past the three minute mark and if it hadn’t by then, it certainly did when I realised that they took more time wrestling rather than making their way to the ring.

  5. WOW! Diva Dirt is amazing! This match was so awesome and i am so happy to see an actual match! If the match would’ve been 10 minutes i know it would’ve still been great. All together the whole match was good, I liked how they got hardcore, but it did get a little crazy.

@rodneyclint I knew Melissa looked like one of the Divas but i kinda blanked out and i was like ??? but she does look like the Bellas. If WWE used her right (LOL) they could initially bring her in as an older Bella?

  6. The Bellas, despite improvement, aren’t being used for one major fact- there’s two of them! The fans can’t tell the difference and I doubt half the time the officials can, so how can either girl get pushed when it’s a singles title? Unless they do freebird etc. But WWE isn’t that bright when it comes to pushing less over talents- especially Divas. Adding Melissa would be great, but as a Bella making three? That kills her career and there’s. Terrible idea.

  7. Looking Glass hit the nail on the head. Good match with two of the best non-joshi wrestlers out there.

This is what real women’s wrestling looks like but some people wouldn’t recognize it.
When I watch independent wrestling and then major promotions I am struck by how little the later has to do with wrestling nowadays. “Instant gratification” is what people are about these days but I’m left unsatisfied. That sounded bad (lol) but…:P There’s not enough time to be completely entertained or time to admire the fullness of a wrestler’s skill if they are in ultra-short matches with some distracting element (too many people in the ring at once).

    Thanks very much, Diva Dirt!

  8. Very good match Thank you so much for posting it and thank all you guy for the great work you do.

  9. Wow great match with Melissa and MsChif, thanks Diva-Dirt!

  10. I BET IF TNA LOOKED AT THIS, THEY MUST BE THINKING: “MAN, DID WE F***ED UP, BAD?” THEY WENT BEYOND DROPPING THE BALL WITH MELLISA! SHE, ALONG WITH MSCHIF, ARE WITH OUT OF DOUBT TWO OF THE GREATEST FEMALE WRESTLERS IN THE WORLD. AND IT IS REALLY SAD THAT TNA AND WWE, CAN’T SEE IT FOR THEMSELVES.

THANKS DIVA DIRT FOR THE CLIP! YA’LL MADE MY MANIA DAY!

  11. I’m sure TNA was aware of Melissa’s work before they got her Bdawg, otherwise, well, they wouldn’t have signed her.

Anyways, I really only skimmed over the match but between at the chairs, fights in the stands, bodyslams on the gym floor, and duking it out outside, that was really entertaining. I’ll watch it later today in full (I’ve got 20 more hours after all haha). Thanks DD!

  12. I liked the match but the ending kinda killed it for me. I wish MsChif would have finished it off with the Code Red on the stage. That would have been exciting :). Haha, why were there so many little kids there? I don’t think this was a very “kid-friendly” environment. Between them fighting in the stands & then out in the grass kinda gave it a street fight feel rather than falls count anywhere but other than that, nice selection DD! :D

  13. Melissa is so freaking amazing I love her so much. I didn’t know who was MsChif I just found out about her couple weeks ago on youtube. She’s amazing in the ring and her moves are great. And she does Melina California Dream so much better. I saw a match with MsChif vs. Daizee Haze wow that was so freaking amazing.

I wonder would Melissa go to ROH I really hope so.

  14. Thank you so much divadirt for doing this! I think it was a great idea and I enjoyed the match!

  15. I really liked this match. With the lenth of it i was going to watch in 2 parts but I was so into it I couldn’t turn it off. I’m not really a folloer of indy wrestling so I had no idea Melissa used the Vertabreaker(I know it’s not the real name) as her finisher. I have never seen a woman do the move before. This is my first time ever seeing MsChif and I like her. I like her whole look and I like the moves she does. I am a fan of submission moves so that didn’t bother me one bit. I’m closer than ever to buying some Shimmer stuff. Now on to the bad which isn’t much. I was so annoyed by the little kids in attendance. Their voices bugged me to no end. It was just so annoying. Was that the worst ref ever or what? I thought a falls count anywhere match meant falls count anywhere. I’m so glad Melissa gave it to him at the end cause he really deserved it.

  16. gmosoto LOL you just made me laugh.

  17. Right GMOSOTO. Who’d want to see two talented women with developed characters obviously working hard for their craft and selling moves to the best of their ability when they can see Maryse flip her hair? I’m with you… WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? ;)

  18. Great match! A lot of talked about match also. I remember the youtube discussions when clips from this match made it to youtube.
But personally i think their matches in SHIMMER (vol.4 and vol.6) were better, both in wrestling and production quality (the kids in this PWR match were kinda annoying sometimes).

  19. gmosoto wrote: “this sucks!”

With that comment you not only showed you aren’t a fan of women’s wrestling, but also showed you don’t know anything about wrestling in general. Sure, this match wasn’t perfect, but it’s still better than any diva/knockout matches we’ve seen the past few years (if you ignore the annoying kids and the bad production quality).

You are a big Maryse fan, right? I remember you putting the words “Maryse” and “5 stars” in the same sentence once. So you complain that this match had too many locks, leg locks, arm locks and head locks…you know…wrestling moves in a wrestling match. Yet it’s perfectly ok for you if Maryse only uses ONE move in a match? If Mschif and Melissa would die their hair blonde and ad some hairflips to the match, this match would get your approval?

  20. Stunning, Melissa is also VERY hot. What does WWE see in half of the Diva’s?
    TNA F’d up BIG TIME.
TNA doesn’t need TBP, get rid of them and hire some good wrestlers, TNA would be amazing if they still had Melissa, Ms.Chif, Kong, Gail Kim and Roxxi..

  21. Great match, thanks for posting.

  22. This is titled the Alternative Wrestlemania Match, i would go as far to say that this match is probably better than what Cena vs Batista will do. Flawless match, some nice bumps and the story that was told was great too! I really wish TNA didnt get rid of Melissa. She should have been their main heel. Maybe she’ll be back one day

  23. @ Resi… I totally agree with you about this being better than Cena/Batista, lol.

    Now…

Please allow me to apologize on behalf of the Diva Dirt team for showcasing two female athletes who can actually wrestle and put together an amazing match. How dare us post a match in which women work together to tell a story and use *gasp* actual wrestling holds to tell a story. Shame on us for showing women wrestling fans that girls can get down, dirty, and hardcore. And shame on us for having people like you on the site who don’t appreciate just how brilliant women’s wrestling can be when it’s handled by a company who appreciates it and lets their girls go all out and have fun.

If you truly think this match sucks, then you aren’t a wrestling fan, period.

  24. what a great match, thank you DivaDirt! i think it was definitely mania worthy.

omg that suplex on the chairs looked really painful ouch, and the part where Malissa swung mischief around by her legs and into all the chairs was awesome

i love when Alissa did her finisher on the ref XD i forgot what it’s called lol

  25. Quote of the year: “Why are you so concerned with the ring….AHHHHHHHHHH….What kind of stupid ref are you?!”

It was the best women’s match I’ve ever seen, and I’m really happy with the ending because a match that epic didn’t need a clean win at the end. The ref was annoying that he wouldn’t count despite it being Falls Count Anywhere O_O and I loved Melissa finally giving him a verta-breaker. I can’t say enough about the epicness of this match, because i’d be here all day, but it just makes me wonder how a company can have Cheerleader Melissa signed to a contract and treat her like nothing, as if she was just average or decent in the ring. She’s a beast in ring that deserved to get a proper push on mainstream TV, but TNA’s loss is the world of independent wrestling’s gain. I wasn’t the biggest MsChif fan, don’t know why, but I never connected with her…until this match. She was awesome in this match and I am now a big follower of her.

This is definitely a Wrestlemania worthy match, although I don’t know if that’s a big compliment considering Wrestlemania has played home to the likes of Miss Wrestlemania and countless Lumberjill fiascos, but nevertheless, it was a brutal match that I never got bored watching. Major props to Diva-Dirt because I knew the awesomeness of Melissa, but without this, I’d have never seen the awesomeness that is MsChif.

  26. lol i’ve seen this match like 10 times already in the past, this match is like 2 years old, but it’s still good

  27. some of you have short memories because Melissa said she left TNA on good terms and would love to work with them again in the future. As far as Mischef goes, she’s said many times in the past that she would NEVER work for either TNA or WWE, her day time job is working at labs discovering cures for diseases and she loves it, wrestling is just part time for her because she thinks it’s fun

  28. this was an amazing match and an amazing idea!!!! thank you so much diva dirt, clickwrestle and melissa and mschif! i really hope you bring it back next year this was such a briliant idea especially since the divas will prob suck tonite.

and between gmosoto and rkoyou i dont know whos the bigger dumb dumb. @rkoyou who cares? way to brag. and @gmosoto lol screw you. why are you even on this site? go and watch kelly vs maryse on repeat.

  29. the ref doesnt know what hes doing they sed over the speakers remember this is a falls count anywhere match then when melissa and MsChif are trying to pin out side hes like in the ring

the match is great but thanks diva dirt

  30. Thank you so much diva dirt for doing this ;) This match was so amazing. MsChif and Melissa are two of the best female wrestlers out there right now in my opinion. I think I would die of shock of the WWE ever put on a diva match like this ;) I doubt it will happen. But I can always hope :)

  31. WHOA! What an aweosme match! thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much Diva-Dirt! Now we won’t be subjected to the crap that is WWE!

  32. I felt very weird/Uncofortable watching this match. Is probably because I am so used to the Divas that I can’t just imagine anything beyond that. Haha I couldn’t concetrate in it as much. They went outside and went crazy, I just wish they spent more time in the ring and showing what they can do (Which is great skills)…Other than going outside and show how extreme/ agressive they can be. Thanks for opening and introducing the door to another female wrestling than the one most people are used to…this made me want to see more. It was great overall, But I like matches with more Flow and Phase.

  33. When I heard it was Melissa and MsChif I knew it was going to be great, and I was right. TNA was fucked up for letting Melissa go. I can tell both girls were getting very pissed off at the ref lol. Didn’t like the ending though. Thanks for posting Melanie.

  34. I have seen this match before. This is a really good match to get the fans “educated” on what a good ladies match can be. Diva Dirt picked a great match for their alternative wrestemania match. Unfortunately, the WWE & TNA have no clue how to promote a women’s division. And TNA had Melissa, and still screwed it up! I would wonder what Wendi Richter thinks of this match, compared to the junk on TV. Shimmer has the best women’s wrestling going today. Pro Wrestling Revolution got two of the world’s best ladies together, and look what they produce. If you really want to see what a great match can be, then watch Melissa & Ms. Chif, and don’t waste your time watching the junk that is on television. Mc Cool, Maryse & many others could learn a lot by watching Ms. Chif & Melissa.

  35. All I can say is… wow.
    This was great!!!
Although the referee was pretty much a noob.
He annoyed me as soon as MsChif screamed at him.
Then he wouldn’t count the pin. “The ring the ring”
And also another thing that annoyed me was all the whistling in the beginning.
I would understand whistling if it was Maryse and Kelly up there.
But come on, these 2 are there to wrestle, not to look like prostitutes.
Like I said, I looooved this match! Amazing <3

  36. Thank you for the opportunity to watch a real women’s wrestling match. I was hoping for MsChif to spray some Green Mist on the referee. It’s like he doesn’t understand the concept of being a referee. And what’s with the shirt? He couldn’t spring for some spray paint to add the stripes?

Obviously Melissa and MsChif expected a falls count anywhere match, and if the ref did not want the action on the outside, he should have forced the women back into the ring with the 10-20 count out. Melissa and MsChif are both winners. One for shutting up that ref and the other for retaining.

  37. This was such a great way to get more fans into indie women’s wrestling. Thanks Diva Dirt! Its so great to have a site that respects women’s wrestling and is welcoming to female fans as well.

The “vertebreaker” was originally called the “Kudo Driver” after Megumi Kudo, the Japanese female wrestler who invented it (aka a back to back double underhook piledriver).

Spoiler alert: What was with the idiot referee? Did no one tell him what “Fall Count Anywhere” means? i was so glad to see Melissa smash his head in at the end.

  38. “What was with the idiot referee? Did no one tell him what “Fall Count Anywhere” means?”

It wasnt just the referee, the woman announcing through the speaker was clueless as well i think. At one moment she said “5 minutes to go” when the match wasnt even halfway. It almost looked like it was supposed to be a regular 15-minute match but that Melischif “spontaniously” decided to make it falls count anywhere ;-) Naturally that most likely wasnt the case, but thats how it felt. Anyone ever heard something about this whole referee thing?

  39. mikas:
    you’re right i’m not a fan of women’s wrestling, i’m a fan of wrestling in general…
and yes i like maryse a lot, but no only for her wrestling (wich is very poor), i like her character ..And about the 5 stars.. was a freakin video!! ..
And about melissa and mschif turning blonde.. ?.. if you are trying to say that i would like them just because they’re blond … no i would not.. in fact.. i already like melissa and i’ve seen a long of matches of her, matches that actually make me say woow :O .. And yes i a match you use locks.. locks are like a big thing you know .. but no when you use 40 types of lock in 10 minutes!.. and then you spin all over the ring for other 3 minutes..
And yes the kids and the bad production are like IUG to me..

  40. Cryssi:

I knew that somebody would say that.. and is not like that.. i’ve never degrede the work here on DD..
There is a lot of things that i love about the site, and the notes, and everything..
this match is not my taste.. thats all..
And if you think that i’m offending DD on any way.. well i’m not

  41. Great Match. You would never see this @wrestlemania. No championship diva match @ Mania. Poor marketing. Good job Melanie & Staff.

  42. Thank you SO MUCH DD!!! You can never go wrong with a match featuring Melissa vs MsChif, their feud is epic. Hopefully this will motivate people who’re only used to seeing the WWE’s women’s division (and TNA’s) to go out and support Indy women’s wrestling. there’s so much to choose from, SHIMMER, ChickFight, ROH. And between ClickWrestle and youtube, there’s no reason anymore that folks can remain ignorant to the talent thats out there beyond the two major companies.

    This is real women’s wrestling. Thank you for providing an alternative that is/was guaranteed to be more interesting, entertaining and all-round awesome than what we’ll get at Mania. Don’t get me wrong, I love the WWE’s women wrestlers, but they’ll never get the time and opportunity to show what they can do. Not when we have Cenuh/Batista for the umpteenth time to see. >.<;;

  43. What’s the deal with the Ref!! (Did ya hear??!!) ‘Falls Count ANYWHERE!’ Thats means YOU, get on your knees and count to three. Melissa OWNS Ref, HaHa, MsChif FTW!

But seriously, GREAT match, I’ve been following this feud for years and I NEVER get tired of their matches. It all started with Shimmer but I love ChickFight as well. Thanks for the Alternative Diva-Dirt.

  44. This is a good match but not the best showing from both. This is not exactly the kind of match that would wow everyone. Like those who are not familiar with both talents reputation or the indie scene in general. If you put this on live TV it’s gonna get chewed out and spat on (unless it’s the far too easy to pls TNA fans, sorry ;) ). especially the first 10 minutes. It’s like watching a Charlie Haas or a WWE Paul Burchill match. Both guys are supremely talented but doesnt seem to have any entertaining bones in their body. I’m not saying Melissa or MisChif are boring, because they far from it and have proven in their Shimmer bouts that they are capable to entertain. It’s just this match is..well tedious. If they actually engaged you the first few minutes of that match you would watch it in its entirety instead of skipping and trying to find the more entertaining paced part of that match. We’re all fans of womens wrestling here, and yet most of us judging by some of the comments did that. Imagine what the majority of wrestling fans who don’t care about womens wrestling would react. It’s just the nature of the pro wrestling NOW. That’s the reality and you can’t spin it any other way. So don’t hate.

  45. great match. melissa pretty much killed mischif. if she didnt kill the ref she’s probably the new champion by then.

  46. This match had something for everyone. If you didn’t like it, I seriously question if you’re a fan of women’s wrestling or just the watered down stuff we get from the WWE. Chain wrestling (because yes, that is what wrestling is, locks, holds, reversals, etc.), submissions, hardcore aggression…the production is the only thing that you could legit complain about. These women are two of the best, period.

Ignore the nay-sayers DD, this is the real deal you’ve given us and my heartfelt thanks for the superb match. Again I urge anyone who’s never seen Melissa or MsChif (or any Indy women’s wrestling) to search youtube and ClickWrestle. Your mind will be blown. Don’t settle for what the WWE and even TNA gives us – the talent is out there, putting on matches that esp the ‘E would never allow on it’s stage.

Why? Because it would show that a ton of women can outwrestle the top males in the company. Cena, Batista, Triple H – they couldn’t do HALF of the moves MsChif, Melissa, Daizee Haze, Portia Perez can. Hell if you gave Gail Kim, Beth, Natalya, Michelle the proper time and leeway, they would show their wrestling talent far exceeds the men’s. But that’ll never happen.

  47. Seriously people, the match wasn’t that great to where EVERYONE has to like it and if they don’t then there is no possible way they are women’s wrestling fans. The match was slow paced and took a while to really find it’s legs. Then when it does get going, they run all over this gym with children screaming and even though the annoucer calls it a ‘Falls Count Anywhere’ match, the referee won’t count unless the girls are in the ring. There was some great work here and some good spots, but this match is not the best women’s match ever by far so if it doesn’t wow everyone, it’s okay. For anyone to have an account on Diva Dirt must mean they are women’s wrestling fans, so lay off the people who aren’t creaming their pants.

  48. I know I will get bashed for this like anyone else who feels the way I do but I don’t care what people think. I didn’t really found the match to be not that great at all.

It was way too long. Sure 3 minutes is way too short but on the same hand 25 minutes is way too long. If made into a 12-15 minute match I think I would have liked it a lot better. I know it was a falls count anywhere match but damn was that stipulation annoying. WTF was the ref doing not counting? Was he slow or something? Besides a few suplexes outside and some chair action they didn’t do anything impressive and like I said about half of the match could have been condensed.. I guess the only reason it was so long was because all of the people were there only for women’s wrestling so the match had to be a half hour.. And the ending was so dumb. A DQ for attacking the ref? Really? . . Any match that ends like that get severly docked in my book.

On the positive side I did like some of the submissions, some of the outside work, and some of the in ring action but overall it was too long and not spectacular at all.

  49. The fact is, this is something the Diva Dirt team is providing for people who aren’t intrigued by the minimal build provided for tonight’s Diva-fest. If this match isn’t your thing, by all means, watch the tag match tonight, just don’t crap on this along the way. This wasn’t something they had to do, so don’t act like you’re owed something better. In the words of Maryse, it just makes you look like a “disrespectful loser!” ;)

  50. I think the critism was about the match and not about DD at all. I dont know why some of you have to be all snippy. Just because some of us didn’t think it was that great doesn’t mean we dont appreciate “real” womens wrestling. Is it hard to just give a comment on the match and not on other peoples opinion about that same match?
