Wow, I don’t even know how to start off this Write-Up. First, I guess, we all got a surprise last night when the 8-Knockout Tag Team match that was announced was mysteriously changed into this hot mess of a match with rules that were more confusing than a episode of Lost. If you want an in-depth explanation of what went down, please go and listen to the Post Raw and Impact Show or just watch this video of Christy explaining what’s going to happen with the Knockouts tonight.
So there you have it. The Beautiful People kick off the live Impact after Christy explains the rules and what’s at stake. Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne are looking adorable with their pink outfits and tag titles, but Lacey is missing in action interestingly enough. Velvet starts off by saying that the Knockouts continue to revolutionize this business and tonight the Beautiful People will own three of the four lock boxes. She claims they’re going to get the spider and squash it like they should have done ages ago. Then she says they’re going to get the open contract so they can dominate whoever they want, and last but not least, they’ll get the TNA Knockout Championship, which is apparently the highest honor for women in wrestling today. Madison takes her turn speaking next. She agrees with “Vel Vel” and says tonight the Beautiful People will get it all; everything they deserve and everything they are owed. While she’s talking, Lacey von Erich walks out of the bathroom wearing nothing but a smile and a fuzzy white towel. She takes front and center and says no one will ever forget the night they saw Lacey von Erich strutting around in her bra and panties.
LVE: “Tonight, everybody wins.”
Oh boy.
With the Knockouts basically spread through out the entire show, it’s awhile before we get another segment, but when we do, it’s Christy Hemme standing with Team Tara. Team Tara is comprised of soon-to-be former champ, Tara, Angelina Love, ODB, and Hamada.
Skip ahead to 3:50
Tara is the first to speak and she goes off on a tangent about how tonight’s match is an absolute joke and how it’s ridiculous that TNA is using her just to get ratings. She understands the stakes and what could happen tonight, and she promises she is going to go out there tonight and pin someone’s ass.
Preach.
Angelina looks at Tara and reminds her that there is really nothing fair about wrestling and that sometimes life’s a bitch. They all have to deal with it. Angelina very confidently says that with the Knockout Title on the line tonight, she is going to be the one leaving with it and Tara doesn’t seem to impressed with that statement. Tara gets all huffy and basically tells Angelina that if she does win the title, it’ll be a cheap victory, and Angelina would have stolen it. She adds that if Angelina wants to role that way, then she’s game, and stalks off. Angelina gets huffy as well and she walks off leaving Hamada and ODB to just stand there.
Leave it to ODB to provide the most interesting promo of the night. She says “screw the knocked up title” which makes me giggle, and then says if she wins the open contract she’s going after AJ’s booty, and I can’t say I blame her. I love that little Georgia boy! After ODB exits to stage left, Christy turns to Hamada who says something in Japanese, and that little Knockout segment is now done.
After some more sweaty man action, it’s finally time for the match. After a shot of the Beautiful People backstage groping one another, Tara’s music hits and she starts to walk to the ring. She’s followed by Angelina, ODB, and Hamada. The Beautiful People and Daffney come out next and in a fun twist, all four actually coordinate their entrances to go together. That was pretty cool. Since there’s not really time for shenanigans tonight, the bell rings as soon as all eight women are in the ring. The rules state that once a Knockout is pinned and the one who was pinned, as well as the woman who pinned her, are both eliminated from the match. Madison and Angelina start us off.
They two former friends lock up and start to jostle back and forth for position. Angelina takes control and makes the tag to Tara. Madison gets the upper-hand on Tara and does some really unique and pornographic move on the poor girl. She seems very pleased with her effort and steps on Tara’s stomach as she heads for the ropes. Tara gets to her feet and meets Madison, scoops her up and positions her for the Widow’s Peak, and gets the pinfall. Tara and Madison are both out of the match now, with Tara earning the first key of the night.
Daffney charges in and pulls Angelina into the ring. She’s stomping away on the Canadian as TNA goes to commercial break. Super. When the show returns we’re missing two Knockouts. Apparently Daffney pinned Hamada during the break which shouldn’t shock anyone. Velvet has ODB down on the mat and is working her over. Angelina and Lacey are cheering on their partners from the outside, and ODB starts to throw her weight around and bully Velvet Sky. The popular ODB has the crowd going and Velvet is in pretty bad shape at this point. She’s giving up far to much size and strength to the bigger, stronger competitor. ODB attempts to pin Velvet, but the crafty Miss Sky manages to kick out after the two. ODB keeps the momentum going by attempting to slam Velvet to the mat, but Velvet wiggles out of the failed move and hits ODB with her own version of the DDT. Velvet goes for the pin and gets the three count, winning herself the third key of the night.
It all comes down to Angelina and Lacey for the final spot and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who is going to win this one. Lacey kicks ODB out for the ring and goes right for Angelina, who ducks the other blonde’s clothesline attempt. She knocks von Erich to the ground and starts beating on her, causing Lacey to curl up in a fetal position to try and fend off the attack. A pumped up Angelina Love motions to the crowd who are solidly behind her and throws Lacey into the turnbuckle face first. Lacey then finds herself whipped to the opposite set of turnbuckles and Angelina charges her. Lacey manages to get her foot up, and Angelina eats it and falls on her back. Von Erich climbs to the second rope and goes for her moonsault into an elbow drop, but misses because Love has rolled out of the way. Taz pokes at Lacey which I find stupid, but back to the action in the ring. Angelina takes advantage of Lacey’s mistake and hits her with “Lights Out.” It’s indeed lights out for Lacey as Angelina collects the final key. We’re treated to a shot of the lock boxes and their prizes backstage with a promise of the Knockouts opening them later on tonight.
And TNA wasn’t kidding when they said the boxes would be open later on that night. In a surprising turn of events, the Knockouts were given the opportunity to close the show.
Skip ahead to 1:45
Jeremy Borash (playing the role of Ryan Seacrest) was the master of ceremonies so to speak and he did a lot of teasing before we even got down to business. To make a long segment short, Velvet got to open her box first and she recieved the open contract for a match of her choice. Tara went second and was gifted with her spider, Poison, which was bittersweet because it signaled the end of her Knockout Champion title reign. Angelina and Daffney were last and they opened their boxes simultaneously. Angelina got the championship. Daffney got the right to strip. Angelina was thrilled. Daffney, not so much. She was forced to go to the ring and reluctantly did her thing which was kind of funny and kind of not. Lacey put a quick end to it by running out, attacking Daffney with the ugly stick, and giving the males in the crowd what they wanted. Realization sunk in for Tara that she was no longer the champion and she started beating the crap out of Angelina. Velvet got upset that Lacey upstaged her so she cashed in her contract for a Leather and Lace match next week against Angelina. After that, the show finally came to an end.
The Good: Well, despite all the bull, the Knockouts were basically the entire show. I appreciate the fact TNA woke up and realized that their girls equal ratings, but the way they went about it was all wrong. The wrestling wasn’t bad, and everyone looked adorable. So I guess that’s a good thing, right? ODB’s promo and Velvet screaming at Lacey not to upstage her were my two favorite parts of tonight’s broadcast. I hope this whole Lacey upstaging Velvet is not a one time thing because it could very well lead to a great storyline between all of the girls involved in the Beautiful People. Personally, I would love to see Velvet and Madison turn on LVE and tell the world their feud with Angelina has been nothing more than a hoax and that Lacey being with the group was nothing more than a joke. It would be nice to see Lacey work as a face because I get the feeling the fans would likely back her because she is pretty and she does try. With the Angelina the champion now, the Beautiful People could be one golden stable and I would love to see the Knockout lockerroom led by Tara come together and try to decimate the powerful BP.
The Bad: There wasn’t a lot that was bad about tonight’s broadcast. We had our usual commercial break in the middle of the match, and the returns of Hamada and ODB were handled poorly. Hamada may very well be the best wrestler on the TNA roster, but those who want her to be a champion are in for major disappointment. The Knockouts are being turned into a better version for the Divas by TNA and Hamada is likely to be the Jillian or Katie Lea of TNA. It sucks and it’s unfortunate but like Angelina Love said, there is nothing fair about the wrestling business. We should all know this by now.
The Ugly: Tonight in general was an ugly night for wrestling. The Knockout Championship was downgraded to a cheap tool used for ratings and in my opinion, the belt lost some of it’s prestige tonight. For the past several months, this belt has been passed from girl to girl, and tonight someone won it because they stuck a key in the right box. That’s a terrible way to win a title. It sucks for Tara because she got the short end of the stick yet again and it sucks for Daffney because TNA basically told us they don’t consider her championship material. I have no idea what goes on in TNA creative meetings but this whole complicated storyline nonsense is basically what killed WCW and they’re going to end up killing TNA. The Knockouts used to be the shining light of the company but now they’re basically side show acts. Yes they got a lot of attention, but there are better ways to go about it. Telling someone to strip or be fired violates so many laws it’s unreal and before someone decides to comment that it’s only kayfabe, you need to realize that there has to be at least some realism in your storylines. You can’t make someone strip under the stipulation that they will be fired. It’s just not ethical and I don’t give a crap that this is just wrestling. The so-called “creative geniuses” who run the company can at least try and think with their brains and not their anatomy when it comes to the Knockouts.
TNA is the most frustrating show on television to me. They have so much talent but it’s going to waste on dumb storylines and degrading angles. Next week we get to watch what’s sure to be a thrilling Leather and Lace match featuring Velvet and Angelina. I don’t even know if this is going to be for the title or not. All Velvet wanted to do was show up Lacey and get her hands on Angelina. She didn’t even bother to make it a championship match. Thank goodness Impact is getting taped tonight so we will get some answers to our questions. I’m not sure if I want answers. I shudder to think of what’s going to happen to Daffney and Tara now. Weeks and weeks of great, dramatic build-up have potentially gone down the drain. Tara has spider back and no title, so there is no reason for her to interact with Daffney anymore. After this match with Velvet, Angelina is more than likely going to end up in a feud with Tara and that’s something we’ve already seen a million times over.
I can’t really justify giving TNA the benefit of the doubt anymore. They’re going to keep disappointing me so I have no choice but to lower my expectations. TNA is going down the trashy route, in more ways than one, and the girls on that roster deserve better than that. I don’t care that they may have gone for humor with Daffney being forced to strip. I don’t care that they tried to make things exciting. All they did was alienate the purist in me and a lot of others. Just let these girls wrestle. Let them cut promos. Don’t force us to watch uncomfortable segments and deal with confusing storylines that make little, if any, sense. TNA you are better than this. Start proving it. You wanted to be competition for the WWE. Instead, all you’re doing is becoming a laughing stock and dragging your gorgeous, talented Knockouts down with you.

Is Ayako Hamada is the best wrestler in the TNA roster? I think the only ones that there could be a debate about are Nigel, AJ, Alex Shelley, Kendrick, and Joe, and most of them never get to show it.
i loved this idea i mean i love tara she’s a great wrestler but when she has the title she becomes boring… i have an idea that angelina will defeat velvet then they become friends or velvet wins with help of beautiful people and becomes the first knockout to hold both championships at once….but i hope angelina becomes heel…(fingers crossed) and the way tara attacked angelina…i think she is turning heel
then we can have a heel vs heel fued i love those types of fueds :D
Strip tease, contract, spider, knockout title, boxes & leather & lace. I have nothing else to say.
also i hope they have tara vs angelina that was one of my favorite fueds of the knockouts….cant w8 till next week :D
I feel bad that you had to rewatch this Cryssi, as it was awful. Great column, especially with what you were given, and I agree on everything. It’s great they got so much time, but if all the time is related to all these twists and turns that make no sense, it’s basically like giving me a 10 second divas match where at least challenger pins champion. It’s short but makes sense. Daffney will probably do nothing from here on out, and Hamada is probably as good as gone from TNA soon. I mean really, Wilde Luchas, ODB, and Hamada basically are fired if TNA only pays per appearance like I’ve heard and they make one appearance every so often. Just a mess in general to whoever thought this entire thing through.

I don’t know how we went from an awesome Knockouts match last week to the belt being won by unlocking a box. Sad times.
when it was announced a day or two ago that this week’s match was going to be a multi-tag, all i saw was comments of it being the same old, same old. we got something new and definitely something different this week.
Could just be because I’m the odd one here (and I don’t mind that), but I think the Knockouts parts on Impact were awesome (even though the thought of Daffney stripping grossed me out so bad, I turned to Raw for a few seconds). Maybe TNA has a plan for what they did. And if not, then I’ll join in the TNA ranting. Plus, the KO’s closed the show for the first time in I think a year or so. Not bad.
Then again, maybe I’m just happy that Angelina is champion again.
Go to hell Bishoff & Vince Russo, enuf said. -____-
“Go to hell Bishoff & Vince Russo, enuf said. -____-”
out of interest, what would you have rather seen happen?
I am disgusted at the way the title changed hands, I mean it’s so degrading and makes their title seem less valuble. Alot of people bash the WWE but atleast WWE wouldn’t let their title change hands this way.
I really hope Tara turns all phsyco heel like in WWE becuase without a doubt that was when she was in her prime. Phsyco Victoria = great.
I don’t see what was so confusing about all this other than the match itself, they should have just had 4 singles matches to determine the winner, instead they opted for the tag match, probably because of time. However I feel the confusion was helped with the annoucer always saying who got the key and who was eliminated. I liked the idea, thought it was fun and creative and not as bad as you all make it seem. It sure beats wrestling in dresses. The leather and lace match fits the TBP and Angelina will without a doubt be looking to take her anger out on Velvet once and for all. The only thing I’m worried about is where exactly Tara, Daffney, and Hamada are going to end up..
Not this thats for sure. xD But if you want me to pretend to book the knockouts night for monday … I would have had Dr. Steve get involved with the fued of Tara & Daffney by having Tara start to lose it back stage, he can walk up behind her, he’s saying he’s lost control over Daffney and wants to help both of them, maybe bringing their past from WWE back into it just to see how they know each other. She doesn’t believe him and storms off ready for ‘her match against… Madison Rayne, why not? ;P
All BP there ringside to help Madison, Tara goes vicious on her through the entire match but towards the end, Velvet & Lacey attack Tara and she fights them off, but then comes in Daffney with her trademark toolbox and tries to hit tara and shes like AAAAAH and starts pounding on Daffney, but TBP appear again and pound on Tara. But when it’s all bad Angelina appears and helps fight them off, and Daffney makes a break for it. Love helps up Tara but she only gets pushed back as Tara gives chase to Daffney again.
I might also have Steve appear backstage again and Tara’s screaming at him about Daffney and he’s all like ‘I don’t know, I tried to catch her but she was cunning and all that’ but he smirks then and Daffney pops up and attacks Tara and her and Steve just taunt Tara or whatever. … Aaaaand finish. =P
I though the match and segment was pretty good. I enjoyed the knockouts match! and also I though it was funny Lacey running around. For a moment, I thought Velvet was going to tell Lacey “your out of beautiful people”. But overall it was pretty good.
^^^^
That was to Kaledrina btw. xP My other comemnt.
After finally seeing the Velvet/Lacey altercation at the end, I wouldn’t really look into it. I think Velvet was just saying that since Lacey turned up the heat, she was going to do the same by challenging Angelina to the leather and lace match so she wouldn’t be upstaged by Lacey, not warning Lacey or anything. I did lmao at Tara and Angelina getting shots in on her as she ran out of the ring though.
Guess I am the only who liked the stipulation of the match. Sure, the “prizes” were stupid, but YOU ARE WATCHING TNA! Geez. This is the same company that pushes ex-WWE jobbers as a big deal and think it is a good idea.
Actually, no. I don’t think the prizes were stupid.. More like who they went to. Daff should’ve been the one to get the belt since she was.. I dunno, chasing the belt and feuding with Tara? Angelina doing the striptease and Lacey come out would’ve added some heat to another “well, it seemed like a no brainer..” feud TNA likes to mess up. Tara could’ve still got her spider and Velvet could’ve still got her contract.
And I don’t wouldn’t read into Velvet’s words to Lacey anyway. Velvet knows Lacey is such a f’n idiot, that she wouldn’t want to do anything to screw over the group on purpose. And Lacey was funny. She saved the end of the segment. haha
It was 50/50 for me tonight. I liked some of it, hated some of it.
Great column.
Last nights Impact was…eventful, to say the least.
Welp, I’ll give reviewing it a shot.
Velvet winning the contract was unexpected, in my opinion. I fully expected her to be the one to strip, but what we got instead was much, much better in my opinion. I like the idea of Lacey being alienated from the BP group to a degree. I wouldn’t want it to be like a full-blown feud between Lacey and Velvet, but if TNA did go down that route, this is what I’d do:
Have Velvet and Lacey continuously try and upstage one another until Velvet can’t take it anymore and just beats the crap out of Lacey. It’ll lead to a big one on one match where Velvet and Lacey then turn on Madison by beating the crap out of her. They steal the tag titles and Madison sides with Angelina for a two-on-two feud. This could be a very interesting twist, and it could revitalize this feud without a doubt.
Tara getting her spider was utter stupidity, because now it lowers the chance of Daffney vs Tara continuing.
Angelina as champ and Daffney having to strip solidified the idiocy that TNA holds in its creative department.
One of these two should have happened:
1. Daffney has the title and Angelina has to strip. This could then continue both feuds. Angelina would be attacked by TBP and Daffney/Tara would continue to feud over the title.
It would’ve been a breath of fresh air for the Tara-Daffney feud, because then and angle could’ve been started where Tara says Daffney always has something that belongs to her.
or
2. Tara has to strip, Angelina gets Poison, and Daffney gets the title. Why? Plain and simple: A three-way feud.
Angelina and Daffney would both have something Tara wants, so Tara despises both of them. I would have Tara lash out at both, refusing to strip and attacking both. TBP could then get involved trying to attack all the three, and stripping all three down in the process only to have Lacey then strip in a more…..erm, prestigous way?
Basically, TBP would upstage them all, and this could then transition into an EXTREMELY contreversial six woman tag match next week featuring the six women. During said contreversial match Velvet would cash in her contracted match in a winner takes all two on two match against Angelina and Daffney.
Now THAT’s creative ;)
Thoughts, opinions?
All in all, a very crazy Impact.
I hope Tara turns a psycho heel again and regains the knockout title. She’s the only reason why I watch TNA.
Hamada IS BY FAR the best TNA Knockout ability wise.
And she is IN MY OPINION top 3 in the whole company, men or women.
Hamada is like Gail Kim in WWE in a way, never get to show their charisma as they never talk.. But their moves do all the talking when they’re kicking ass.
TNA rating: 0.86
Quarterly hours arent available yet, but the overrun (the striptease part) got 0.97 which (probably) is the highest rated segment of the show.
Sex sells…
Tara has been tweeting about her hand that was injured during the first blood match taped two weeks ago. She said her hand was swollen to the size of a softball, couldn’t do her boxing training because of her it and that it had to heal the right way. I’m thinking that when she hit Daffney with the toolbox, she probably fractured it. She was favoring it a few seconds after the hit, and that’s why the box flew out of her hand the way it did.
There could have been, believe or not, a ladder match scheduled for Lockdown for the title and Poison. But with the injury, she can’t do more than sell moves and deliver a window’s peak. Thus, I’m thinking that this is why they did the lockbox thing.
But sometimes there is good in the bad. Tara gets Poison back, and by Angelina ‘acquiring’ the belt, this intensifies her feud with Velvet. Depending on Tara’s hand it might be a three-way at Lockdown, or she’ll face the winner.
As a Big Knockouts Fan myself i am Dissapointed on what they were doing this week. They Should of Put the Knockouts tag team Championships in the boxes containing the Spider and The Strip Tease. Anyways i hope Lacey Turns on Velv and Madison
LOL I PMSL at the end, when Lacey was leaving the ring and Tara attacked her and the Angelina did…
But Hamada should have won the title IMO, or AT LEAST the contract because she could have gone for the X Division Title or Global.
The WHOLE point is that we want SOMETHING NEW and we got it. But we want something new as in new champion etc, not nre stupid match.
It was a perfect way for Hamada to get that contract tonight, shame on you TNA.
Overruns always score high ratings as people are flipping through channels to see what’s on. Raw’s overrun always scores big.
Well I’ll be honest I was fine with the match I figured it would be somewhat entertaining and when I saw the winners everything just seemed so in place for me. See what I figured would happen was Velvet would get the Strip Tease and just do her thing, Tara would get her championship and not lose it in such a lame manner, Angelina would get the contract and would face Velvet to finally get some revenge, and Daffney would get the spider to further feud with Tara. I would have been fine with that no matter how obvious it seemed but to be thrown this curve ball (which usually would be a good thing) totally sucked. The least I could have asked for was for Tara to keep the title no matter who got what and what went where as long as the championship didn’t change hands in such a degrading manner I would have been satisfied but TNA couldn’t even respect that. COMPLETE LET DOWN!
i think this match is the beginning of the end of lacey in tbp because when lacey started stripping and velvet started saying your stealing my limelight i honestly taught she was kicking out lacey out the tbp.we all know angelina needs tbp to survive and giving her the ko title is just the way to do id say tara interferes in the match attacks velvet and angelina and then its a triple threat at lockdown and angelina turns heel her and velvet kick tara ass and she retains and lacey turns face and in a few years she probs be 7 time knockout champions she my faverite keep on improving
tna last nite was good
some good ideas above on how things could’ve happened. i think the match and the stipulations itself, if they ever revisit it, has great potential. maybe if there wasn’t already an active feud in tara/daffney, it would’ve been received better?
See this is why I prefer TNA…. How many times have we been like wow wouldn’t it be awesome if the DIVAS had a Money in The Bank Match…. A Royal Rumble… A Championship Scramble….. WELL TNA did just that by making the Knockout do a slight variation on the annual Feast or Fired match….
The problem here was the prizes:
1) It should’ve been a title shot and not the title, (& maybe a tag one too)
2) It should have had a more intense bad prize like a Kayfabe 60 day suspension, a mandatory vallet job for a bad wrestler,
3) Poison should have came with a stipulation (& TARA shouldnt have got her back)
4) the striptease angle needed more resistance….
Furthermore I would like to see more angles involving the heat of pretty faces vs. “real” wrestlers… if their storyline kinda matched what we all think is goin on it could be huge….
^ true. it’s like total equality with how the knockouts are treated just like the tna men with the odd weird gimmick match.
Like myself and Cryssi kinda discussed today, the Russoriffic-ness was rampant. In all honesty, you gotta remember, Angie Love never lost the belt, BUT to randomly strip Tara like that, was really stupid. At this point, the WWE has shown that they know how to use their divas in a very classy way and slightly more effective than TNA…then again…it is one week. Let’s wait till next week to really see the “impact.”
i have mixed opinions on tonight, i liked the match (excluding a pin occurring in the middle of the commercial break) and i really like that the knockouts got so much time, BUT i dont like what went down tonight, they threw the “no Divas here” tag line out the window tonight
poor Daffney was screwed, she looked really annoyed tonight she probably realized her push just ended, i don’t even see why they did this at this point in time, they were in the middle of a feud! I’m kinda thinking they will never give her the title :(
i never like when someone is being pushed then gets thrown aside.
i thought the title switch was because Tara had hurt her hand and was going to be off, but clearly not
i think it would have been better to have Tara lose it to Daffney, then have Angelina take it,
as much as i love Angelina, she didn’t deserved the title yet
i hope they start getting to the end of the Velvet sky vs Angelina feud it has been so underwhelming lately, it started off well with the return but then it just faded out, and considering a lot of people wanted to see Velvet vs Angelina since the first started the beautiful people it shouldn’t have happened that way
hmm.i usually agree with every word Diva Dirt but i felt a lil differently this time. ill take what you said into consideration and i am a big fan of your articles! since i started watching the divas and knockouts in november 2009 and discovered diva dirt we never went to any other wrestling div/knockout site ever! :)
I really liked the Knockouts tonight, actually. They were on throughout the entire night, and I think they made them seem really important, which they are.
As far as the championship changing hands that way, I think people are taking this too seriously. Nobody complains about men in WWE essentially getting the same thing with Money in the Bank.
And, yes Lacey stripped or whatever, but Angelina and Tara beat her ass, and it was overshadowed by the brawl between Tara and Angelina to me.
Leather and Lace sounds a but stupid, but I’m not going to judge it until I see it.
meh…it was an ok show to me….i didn’t like how they had to resort to Lacey giving a strip tease…ugh…this is the future of the Knockouts….if there WILL be a future for them that is…
as for this comment:
“But Hamada should have won the title IMO, or AT LEAST the contract because she could have gone for the X Division Title or Global.”
It would be impossible for Hamada to get the X Division or Global title since TNA has to abide to Spike TV’s Bulls**t “No Touching/Hurting Women” rule…despite the fact that some of the girls in TNA can actually take bumps…even a hit from a man
Listen, most of you all are pretty misguided. Irregardless of what most of your realize or think, by trying to be all “attitude-era,” The Knockouts will be dumbed down. I can guarantee you, as butthurt as most of us are over the WWE’s Divas Division being “misused,” they’re at least being shown in a classy way. TNA officials had to warn people at the tapings that the show wouldn’t be family friendly, driving away what is arguably the most necessary fan base in your young children. What the hell is the idea with the whole Leather and Lace match? Is that a way you want to showcase your women’s wrestling talent? We have Wrestlelicious for that. Why dumb down your ratings gold-mine just to get back a bunch of fans who thought ECW was good wrestling?
I thought the idea was kinda cool.
I gave this a thumbs down. I wouldn’t have, if only the Title hadn’t been on the line in such a ridiculous contest. I must say, this is the worst Female Championship title change since Harvey Wippleman won the Women’s Championship back in 2000, and to be brutally honest, I would’ve much rather watched the Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal again!
Hey Bowman :D
@Cryssi – Sounded like Hamada said “Again, I don’t understand what (she) means” and she said she getting ready/is ready to go out to win.
That TBP interview w/Christy Hemme seemed like a Wrestlicious segment to me for some reason. lol And what’s the big deal about seeing them in their bra and panties when they come out wearing practically/basically that on a weekly basis? And who does Victor–Tara’s makeup? She’s prettier than that.
@RadicalRhys297 – I.WOULD.LOVE to see Dr. Stevie involved in all this – they’ve got gold there if they but knew it – there’s so much they could do there and it’d serve the purpose of bring out the crazy in VicTara and making a fued with Daffney be especially heated, given how close Daffney was to Dr. Stevie. That they’re not showing him or following up their connection makes me worry that next they’ll be saying he was released. Haven’t we already seen Tara vs Angelina done?!
The good: many Knockout segments, the “game” or whatever it is also had potential but the prizes were a little “eh”
The bad: the overt and at times ridiculous/unnecessary sexuality, the further devaluation of the Knockouts title, the cluster…crap of the overall plot.
Tara dresses like TBP more all the time, or at least like Angelina Love – the revealing clothes, the big hair, the heavy makeup. Very trannyish; she’s a beautiful woman so it’s not necessary.
That look of disgust on Daffney’s face may very well have been genuine. It’s actually a good thing Hamada wasn’t caught up in that mess. Actually the Daffney striptease made me think of her match against Miss Hancock when the latter lost because she took off her own dress. lol I’m glad she didn’t have to go all the way through it. I lol’d at Tara/Angelina fighting during LVE’s striptease and then they attacked her.
TNA is so much of a fail, they couldn’t even spell special right on the little bar that ran across the screen to advertise the post-show on TNAWrestling.com lol. Watching this fully through, the segment was completely pathetic.
Uhh…isn’t Jeremy Borash wrong when he told Tara she has never done a strip tease in her career…If I’m not mistaken she has participated in bikini contests in the E….and those kinda sorta count as a “Strip Tease”
by the look on Hamada’s face it looked like she said “i have no idea what’s going on”
no idea what she actually said but that’s how she looked to me
You were not very specific in your poll of thumbs up and down. I gave it a thumbs up, because regardless of the poor use of the TNA Knockouts, they were the centerpiece of the program from beginning to end. Sure Daffney (my personal favorite) had to do this “strip tease;” not necessarily seeing as it was ambushed. The real shame goes to Lacey Von Erich who is dragging her family’s reputation down with her air headed stupidity.
I agree that the TNA Knockouts’ Title went down a couple of notches of prestige in that nonsensical lock box. It should not have been included, and neither should Tara’s spider. Keep the feud alive between Daffney and Tara, I say. But now the feud turns towards Love and Tara. But if TNA were ever smart, they would include Daffney in a Triangle Feud. Because despite Daffney’s matches with Tara, there was an underline tension between Love and Tara. So regardless of this episode of Impact, TNA writers were heading in this direction one way or another. Consider this the Jeff Hardy – Triple-H feud of late 2008, before Edge returned from his hiatus and turned this into a Triangle Feud. And remember, Jeff’s accident in the stair well created much controversy by reliving the horrors of Eddie Guerrero’s death (Much like the controversy that this strip tease has ignited with everyone). But Jeff Hardy came out on top of that feud when no one else thought possible. If Daffney could get herself in that feud, then there is no better way for her to skyrocket as a formidable wrestler than taking out two Knockout Champions.
And the other reason why I scored this episode a thumbs up is because of that awesome ladder match between Mr. Anderson and Kurt Angle (PPV Match Material).
