Former Knockouts Champion, ODB posted the following on her Facebook page after seeing last night’s episode of Impact:
Just watched from my DVR the Knockouts match. Wow, WTF is happening to our division?
While it seems that ODB is commenting on the direction of the division under the current regime, I will let you make of that what you will. We have seen instances in the past when girls have seemingly spoken out but then ammended their statement to something more politically correct once it hits the newswire.
For what it is worth, if she is indeed [for now anyway] referring to what I think she is, then I say: “Good question, ODB.” The Knockouts division is a shadow of it’s former self at the moment and with each passing week it seems like they are trying to pull stunts with the Knockouts for ratings. Last week, the Lock Box Showdown debacle and then going into this week, they have been teasing a ‘Leather & Lace’ match, presumably to get horny old men to tune in, only to scrap that match on the show.
We have heard from a few different sources that there has been some unhappiness amongst the Knockouts of late, and now some have even posted the odd message on Twitter or Facebook — first Taylor Wilde, now ODB. This division was once the pinnacle of Impact and didn’t need any change, it was already a ratings draw, and now it’s just being moulded into the Divas division with a little more wrestling.
Thanks to Gavin Harvey for his help.

go ODB! she is putting her neck on the line expressing such an opinion, but if no one speaks out, nothing will ever change, these woman need to speak to Dixie about these crappy changes, if all of them do it, it’s more likely to change, you cant fire them all, the ratings would drop a lot
tna has female wrestlers not models/playboy girls so they should wrestle,i thought thats why victoria aka tara went their to wrestle she should speak up for the knockouts since i dont think they’d release her….
ODB’s right / the lock box sucked / even if title changes are shady- let them happen in the ring
ODB, you said it right there – BAAAAM!
Some people in that iMPACT! response post were complaining about the “creditability” of the Knockouts.. I hope those same people don’t use selective memory in agreeing with her. ODB’s last matches where she was actually a part of them were trainwrecks.
Nice to hear a voice defending the integrity of the knockout division, but I also remember a Sky-Love vs ODB -Deaner match at Hard justice 2009 which was hardly the pinnacle of the division…
The current problems with the division didn’t appear all of a sudden.
your welcome diva dirt allways glad to help the best site in womans wrestling
i feel for odb as well she was once a big player on the knockouts division but after her loss and her inplants getting hurt shes been in the shadows
tna was once the place every woman wrestler wanted to be now its boring :|
i think odb needs to remind herself of her time with cody deaner. that, for me, was a lot more damaging than a 3-on-1 beatdown that happened last night.
the beautiful people have always been rating whores. they grab the viewers. it’s just annoying how they’re now using them JUST to grab the viewers.
Sounds like she’s about as happy with the current state of things as we are. Can’t say I blame her.
I don’t think anyone is happy with the current state of the knockouts division. I just can’t believe that in a short time that this could happen. Look at how the division was last year at this time. It is a complete opposite from now. As least she is being honest with how she feels…
the division was sucking way before the lock box fail.
You can blame worthless Dixie Carter for this. As the boss of TNA she is completely blind to the way this new era is being run. So sad. She is a pathetic excuse for a boss by letting Bischoff and Hogan run things. And what good has the old fart Hogan brought to TNA? NOTHING! The whole of TNA is a joke at this point. Stupid and overbooked. So it’s not just the Knockouts. Impact’s ratings a dying on Monday and it still can’t draw a good attendance for any of its shows. Hogan is of the past, deal with it.
How can Dixie look any of these fellow WOMEN in the eyes and say everything’s cool? She expressed in the past what a fan of the Knockouts she is. What a two-face bitch. She will learn the hard way when TNA really hits the rocks because of her mismanagement and weakness to the ‘big names’ of wrestling. For shame, Ms Carter.
You know, the Knockouts division was arguably the most successful thing to ever come out of TNA, based on coverage and ratings. It’s just senseless to be making such sweeping changes to what for much of the last couple of years was the only thing working out for them.
maybe if dixie gets her head out of her ass and stop tweeting she will get the knockouts back to the way they used to be 2 match a night and bring back odb, sarita, taylor wilde, hamada,.
It is truly sad to see the state that the Knockouts division is in currently.
I’d like to hope that it will change and go back to focusing on good, hard-hitting, competitive matches. However, with this Hogan/Bischoff thing, TNA has seemed to go downhill in every division.
When I first happened upon TNA last year I saw the difference from Divas to Knockouts. TNA respected their women far more then WWE. Does this make me a TNA fan? Not by any means. But I remember a time when Divas had longer matches and more air time. Remember the days of the Divas in Playboy? They had long segments to reveal their covers. Not since the Days of Trish and Lita has Women’s Wrestling been what it should be. Now they are just eye candy and sometimes the most Diva or Knockout action we see is when they are standing outside the ring. Give these women the respect they deserve!
