Welcome to the third annual edition of our Diva Draft feature here at Diva Dirt! If you haven’t been with us over the last couple of years, the premise is simple — each year, I make six predictions/suggestions over six consecutive days in the lead up to the WWE Draft which this year falls on Monday, April 26th. In previous years, I have successfully managed to predict some of the movies; in 2008, I predicted both draft picks and in 2009, four of my six predictions came true with a fifth later being realised in the Diva Trade of October 2009. So, let’s hope this year will be just as fruitful. Check back for all six of my picks over the coming week!
The current reigning Women’s Champion, Michelle McCool has spent her entire career as part of the SmackDown part and has been a big hand in helping develop the now extremely strong women’s division on the blue brand. As one of the pioneering Divas of said women’s division, Michelle has spent most of the past two years feuding with the likes of Victoria, Natalya, Maryse, Maria, Melina, Mickie James and currently Beth Phoenix. Michelle is a woman that is on top of her game and putting her on Raw could be just what Michelle needs to truly make her mark in WWE history.
Already, she has made history as the first ever Divas Champion, the first woman to hold both belts yadda yadda yadda, but she’s never been on Raw where some of the most historic Divas like Trish Stratus and Lita left their mark. Michelle is one of those few talents that has accomplished so much on her native brand that you need to shift her over to the [so called] ‘A show’ at some point, ala Rey Mysterio. This is the show that WWE considers the home of its big Superstars and Divas and it seems as though Michelle is ready to make the move.
As a viewer, Michelle’s presence on Raw could be a big plus. In my opinion, she is one of the most consistent workers on the Divas roster, turning in great matches — particularly on pay per view — which like Raw, are live. Her presence on Raw could help us get out of the rut of having inexperienced Divas in two minute matches for fear of them messing up a move live on television.
Whether or not she brings her Women’s Championship with her is another question, though I would suggest it’s too soon since last year’s title switch to now switch them back. I’d have McCool drop the belt to Beth Phoenix at Sunday’s Extreme Rules before moving over to Raw where she could begin challenging Eve Torres for the Divas Championship. We know she has great chemistry with Maryse also which should create an interesting dynamic — perhaps you could have all three Divas feuding for the belt. And the allure of revisiting the Michelle-Melina feud upon the latter’s return in the summer is just too hard to resist.
It seems like it is Michelle’s time to make the move to Raw and see how the other half live. But will she bring her Team Lay-Cool partner with her? Will Layla be one of my other five picks? Find out soon!

I can really see this move happening. Michelle will likely drop the title on sunday and end up on Raw. Not sure whether thats a good idea considering she may end up with 2 minute matches and gimmick matches all the time which would be a complete waste of talent. On the other hand putting her on the A show should help her get more heat off the crowd. Fingers crossed Layla moves too, they cant split LayCool this early.
i think maryse, jillian and katie are going to SD
and Michelle and Natalya are going to RAW
McCool will only be moving to Raw when Undertaker does the same. I won’t hold my breath.
Besides, McCool sucks without Layla – she’s so vanilla and is possibly the most unsexy diva on the roster.
as far Team Laycool means, remember that was team Mccool-Fox first, then was layla.. so if michelle moves to Raw she would do just fine with Alicia
You know this could either be a good thing or a bad thing. WWE seems to be EXTREMELY high on Michelle McCool so with a move to RAW maybe they could give more help to the RAW divas division and help it flourish like Smackdown has the past few years. It seems lately all the big feuds in the divas division involves Michelle so it seems creative cares enough to give her good feuds and matches. Although I do think she is a blue branded girl and maybe stay that way. Like Torrie Wilson who clearly was best on Smackdown and her move to RAW wasn’t very successful. But with Michelle on RAW it will give her the opportunity to grow even more popular in the WWE. Whatever brand she goes on I’m sure she’ll be well treated.
I am not sure how I would feel about Michelle McCool being traded to raw. I am just afraid that she will be put in gimmick and one minute matches. But who knows maybe things will change after the draft. I can always be optimistic…But I do have a feeling that Michelle will loose the title to beth this Sunday and she will be traded on Monday. I can just see that happening.
Honestly Michelle shouldve been drafted to Raw a long time ago. I don’t think she will be leaving smackdown anytime soon this is one draft pick I’m 100% sure about.

I think Michelle should stay on SM. If Michelle loose her title than maybe she would go to RAW, but if she keep the women’s title than Eve would go back to SM. But Vince is so high on Eve she would probably stay on RAW.
But I really hope that Michelle stay on SM.

This is one pick I strongly agree with, although there is still a lot of scope for Michelle on Smackdown, including being given the time to fued with Layla on Smackdown, something I doubt we’d see on RAW. Still I think she’ll lose her title at Extreme Rules, or possibly even on draft night.
My idea for that would be for Eve to win a Diva Battle Royal and get Michelle drafted to RAW; she then complains she’s no longer with Layla or Vickie, so then Teddy Long says if she defends her title against Beth, she’ll go back to Smackdown, if not she loses the title and Beth gets a pick. Beth would then win, drafting Gail or Maryse to Smackdown. I’d love it to happen, but at the same time, I like Michelle where she is. In my eyes, it’s a Win/Win situation wherever Michelle goes.
I think moving Michelle to Raw could only mean good things.. But they probably won’t because of the Undertaker situation, I read that he wants to take a break so I guess there’s still a possibility. But then again didn’t he just return? Maybe he already took his break.. Idk, maybe he’ll get drafted to Raw too who knows..
Anyhow I hope that Tiffany, Michelle & Layla go to Raw and Gail, Jillian & Rosa go to SmackDown. :D
Wow, really good job with that graphic Melanie and co. I almost thought the Draft had happened and somehow I’d been living under a rock or some time warp had happened.
If this prediction does occur and I’m not going to make a judgment call because I really see no point anymore (pessimism has sunk it), it would also aid in putting an end to LayCool. Assuming of course that you guys are predicting they wind up on different shows.
if Michelle loses the title at extreme rules i could see her going to Raw, but at the same time i think she may stay on SD after all she is kinda the center of the Divas there
i was going to do a prediction thing but the Raw Divas division is such a hot mess i couldn’t decide who i would want to go to Smackdown, but i hope Katie moves to SD
I have Michelle moving to raw in my perdictions as well :)
I think Michelle is the only diva that casual wrestling fans will care about moving and as wwe raw usally shows at least one diva trade on the show im perdicting it will be her.
I actually think she will still have the title by monday and im also perdicting that eve will be traded to smackdown.
Id be happy with Michelle on raw but that is only if Layla is with her and if my other perdictions come true, I dont really want to see her fighting Mickie or Beth anymore so i guess it depends who would be joining her on raw.
I think Michelle to Raw would be a perfect move! She is already great in the ring , what more is it then to see her wrestle live….Michelle could probably bring some Fire to the Raw divas lord knows they need it…
Michelle is by far going to RAW without the belt which she will lose by beth anyway it still didnt happen but congrats Beth P. For Becominqq 3 Time Womens Championn ;] *LOL i cant wait to say tht this sundayy*
I’m thinking Michelle, Layla and Natalya to Raw. Katie, Gail and Kelly to Smackdown.
if she does move, i’d like to see her leave layla behind. michelle isn’t that great without layla but i feel as if layla is being held back by being with michelle.
and if she doesn’t move, or does but with her title, i’ll fully expect her to be feuding with a returning melina.

Hm i just remembered if Michelle leaves layla behind she will team up with Alicia Fox Once Again , Hope not because alicia and layla have better things to do on achieving to make something of themselves in WWE not just the diva who managed McCool.
Do i really see this move happining possibly do i want it to happen HELL NO, sorry but if Michelle does get moved to Raw her wrestling like the other divas before her will take a back seat to this guest host gimmick. Just because Michelle will possibly be moved over there doesn’t mean they(the writers) are going to change the name of the game and make the diva segments last 5-10 minutes like they have on Smackdown with McCool. I don’t want to see McCool moved because it will basically just limit her on her wrestling skills. Sadly though i see McCool moving to Raw, As well as Natalya with her Hart Dynasty crew and then in a shocker i see Kelly Kelly moving to Smackdown in the biggest shock yet….

I don’t mind if she stays on SD or is traded to RAW, as long as she doesn’t get another title shot. She is really boring as a champion.
I would like to see Layla get drafted to RAW to feud with Eve for the divas title. Those two had a good feud going when Eve was on SD.
I see a lot of people think that Jillian will move to smackdown, i did orginally think she would…well i hope she would but as long as raw keeps having quest hosts Jillian will stay on Raw and continue to just be used as a comedian for there segments.
I just cant see raw letting her go as she is an entertainer.
Katie Lea on the other hand may be able to get away to smackdown. I definitly think one of the two main jobbers will move to smackdown.
Either Beth, Mickie, Natalya and Layla should be traded to Raw or McCool traded to ECW.

If she does get drafted I bet big money she will win the Divas Title in a matter of a few months, making her a 2 time Divas Champion! If Michelle was to get drafted and leave Layla behind I don’t know if that will be a good thing. Now I’m a big fan of Layla and I’d love to see her venture out on her own and compete for a championship but sadly I see her becoming nothing more than a jobber. I hope I’m wrong though.
Oh Yeah! I love Michelle and i think she needs to change! Raw could be great for her career :D
The Diva Draft 2010 .I do see this Women’s Title match at a very convenient time especially when you don’t know who’s going to move.First off I can see Michelle dropping the Title to Beth at Extreme Rules.Then with the Draft right around the corner Michelle can move to Raw and possibly move Maryse to SmackDown where she can work with in matches with Beth.I don’t see Michelle taking the title off of Eve just that quick.Layla has proven to be very good in matches against Beth an Mickie.Remember with Mickie being off for that leg problem Beth took the top spot and Mickie has seemed to enjoy working with Beth.Those two on SD can really get SmackDown some really enjoyable Diva matches.As for Natayla she’s doing very good now as a face Diva since Hart Dynasty has moved up themselves to a face tag-team.Mickie I think along with Beth will stay right there.They’ve got some other Diva’s that need to move around and do some serious wrestling which SD provides.Beth herself has worked so hard to get to where she is .Even to the point of a great jobber on Raw .Now that she is a Dominate face Diva she can really enjoy being a crowd favorite and she seems to like being able to work the crowd .As for Vickie I don’t know maybe she can move to Raw and create some havoc there.
Melanie, my sentiments exactly. Michelle NEEDS this move. She’s developed herself as a credible wrestler, her character has been getting an amazing stroke from Layla & Vickie. She just cannot connect with the fans properly. I think this has alot to do with her being on SD! her entire career. She needs to branch out & reach a larger fanbase & RAW could really help her get acquainted with another audience.
Not sure where that leaves Maryse though. I don’t want her to move to SD! but i don’t want her buried beneath McCool. Sorry, but that would be an injustice act. Layla should go/stay wherever Michelle is because she gives McCool the color that she lacks. So I guess I see Lay-Cool & possibly Mickie moving to RAW & Rosa, Gail & Katie moving to SD! (Insert random tangant) – poor Tiffany was on sucha roll & getting so much exposure when Mickie was gone, now she hasn’t been heard from in weeks :(. So sad.

Since 2008, I thought Michelle would fit in on the “Flag Ship” show, Raw! She could possibly help the Raw Divas Division get better!
Honestly, I really don’t want to see her feud with Melina again. Their feud over the summer last year lasted long enough for me.
I think Layla should stick with McCool for a bit longer, the feud between the two at the end of their union could be phenomenal, with Layla turning into a confident face, knowing all of McCool’s moves and predicting her actions. I think it would be the perfect way to push Layla to the top. :D
Yea @ THETommyTommy, wishful thinking but this is the WWE we’re talking about.
Here are my picks…
Mickie James back to Raw – I think Mickie’s done all she can do, she’s got a very stale gimmick which means she can only do a limited amount without it wearing thing quickly. She’ll be sent back to Raw because at least there she can be stale and popular on a bigger scale and generally go back to being the number one face, despite the fact she just seems to bounce off titles these days with very little character investment.
Michelle McCool to Raw – It’s a change of scenery and with SD’s succes, I think the writers think it’s more down to the title and not the talent there and will draft Michelle over to make her the top heel there, something their missing out on. She works well with Melina, Maryse and Micke, three of WWE most valued Divas so they’ll boot her over to help rebuild the division. However, I think she might just go without the title given the fact it seems weird for Beth to hold a Divas title, unlike Michelle who’s had it before.
Natalya to Raw- They’ll do the same when she was drafted to ECW, she’s been appearing there in recent week and I reckon they’ll build her as a top face if Michelle’s on there and Mickie gets stale. This will be a draft just to confirm her position there.
Layla to Raw- I have a feeling they want to keep LayCool on having built them up alongside Vickie, this will be more like pushing the boat across the river on it’s own, then again SD can’t draft too many Divas across given they only have a few anyway. Layla’s a possibility, just so she can be the sidekick with attitude, but can lose to help build a heel vs. face storyline as the accomplice.
Rosa Mendes to SD – I’m hoping Zack Ryder and her go to SD for both their sake, I can imagine her carrying out a similiar role to Natalya and only being in matches when it’s to do with Zack. Both of them are young and frsh and their airtime on ECW gave them a good leg to stand on, unfortunately Raw’s overflushed roster spoilt it. I can imagine Zack taking on all these guys and even Rosa doing things in storylines when needed.
Maryse – Raw’s done wonders for her, but I preferred her on SD and with Michelle gone as top SD heel, they might as well switch Maryse back over. I can imagine her feuding easily with Beth Phoenix straight off who I think will win the Women’s title.
Jillian Hall – She needs it! I hope she gets a gimmick change whilst she’s at it, she could be so easily a top heel given the chance, but at the same time a lackey to Maryse or whoever.. Katie Lea could easily fit this role too.
Alicia Fox- She’s not done a lot since that short Divas title feud with Melina, she gets more stuff to do with the guest hosts than she does in the ring and her character is only being given off in her ring entrance, SD could give her airtime and build her up. I preferred Alicia on SD anyway.
Gail Kim – Another one who needs to be here, with Mickie gone, there needs to be a secondary face and Tiffany’s not ready yet – enter Gail Kim. Gail always came off better on SD and I think she needs to go back there to balance the odds, so SD doesn’t become what the Raw Diva division has been this far.
I think this unlike last year gives a fair balance of good workers and green girls on either side so we have.
Raw: Eve Torres (Champion) The Bella Twins, Mickie James, Michelle McCool, Layla, Katie Lea Burchill, Melina and Natalya
SD: Beth Phoenix (Champion) Maryse, Serena, Alicia Fox, Tiffany, Gail Kim and Jillian Hall
I think moving Michelle to Raw will be very beneficial for The show & Michelle, The fact that Michelle has been on SD for her entire career makes it almost necessary for her to move to Raw, This would also be a very fresh direction for Michelle since its on the “A – Show’, The Raw wouldn’t have to worry about her botching that much & it might make the division there seem important to them again.
Oh and Rosa of course for SD lol

I truly feel this is the best way to split the Divas in the WWE. On the draft, they could announce McCool to RAW (Layla in supplemental) or just LayCool to RAW. For SD!, they could announce Maryse (since Melina is MIA). On SD!, you’ve got 6 faces and 3 heels, but when you think about it, Bellas don’t have to wrestle all that much which leaves 4 faces and 3 heels. Or, the Bellas turn heel, becoming Maryse’s lackeys (Post Raw Show) or Gail Kim turns heel to balance the equation.
The main players on RAW are Eve (Divas Champ), McCool, Mickie, to let Eve shine on RAW, without too many overpowering faces, hence the reason to draft Melina to SD!. I think Mickie would work better on RAW since Beth will probably be champ and she has already had her shot, so anyone else can step up to challenge Beth. I know the roster’s might seem lop-sided to SD! in terms of technical prowess but unless something changes, RAW will always be about the T & A, so it won’t hurt them, whereas on SD!, we have a plethora of amazing encounters and feuds that haven’t even been touched yet.

I Doubt She’s going…and believe it or not… Michelle is the Trish of Smackdown! Trish never moved from RAW in the Draft… she made appearances but never changed!!!!

I definelty see this happening, and Natalya is obviously moving to raw as a face so the hart dynasty can feud with showmiz, and I was thinking Mickie could move to raw, and if that’s going to happen, that means 5 top faces, so either way I see Gail or even melina moving to sd
I think moving to Raw is the best thing for Michelle. While I am not her biggest fan I will admit she has always remained constant. She has pulled out great matches with Mickie & Melina. She has an upcoming match with Beth at Extreme Rules and I think her move to Raw could be a good thing. If she goes there as Champion, she could really help out a load of the younger girls there that are not so good like The Bellas, Kelly, Maryse, Eve. She could also have a great feid with Gail. I think she has done about everything on Smackdown and I think it is her time to move to Raw and see how she does on Live TV. Unlike Eve & Maryse, who was thrown into Live TV when they wern’t ready, I think Michelle has no problem with Live TV and I think it is the best and most obvious move.
