Having listened to the Awesome Kong interview here at Diva Dirt and read a recent radio recap from her, one thing is perfectly clear to me: Awesome Kong wants to work for World Wrestling Entertainment. She’s not outright campaigning for it, but if you listen to her, you can tell she’s interested. The question is, does WWE have the same interest? I have no idea. The thing is, they definitely should and I’ll be happy to tell you why.

By signing Awesome Kong, WWE would be breaking the mold of what they believe a WWE Diva should be. Look at the women they have under employment. More than half of them had little or no wrestling experience before they were signed by the company. Awesome Kong is not like that. Kong started wrestling eight years ago, she had a lot of success working in Japan and then made a name for herself in 2007 with TNA. Anybody that saw her work with Gail Kim in TNA could see immediately how much talent she had. I had never seen her before that feud and it took my breath away. They told an amazing story by simply having Kong dominate due to her size while Kim came back with her athleticism. A lot of people took notice of her after that feud and it turned out they were a ratings draws too. Kong was unlike anything we’ve seen in American women’s wrestling.

The majority of the WWE Divas are also thin. We all know how shallow the WWE writing team can be if they feel somebody isn’t thin enough. They call them fat. They insult. They act like a bunch of eight year old kids on the playground. Awesome Kong is not thin. She’s a physical force standing in at 5’11″ and 270 pounds. When she walks into a room, you notice her.

How do you bring her in? Easy. As a heel monster. On either brand. The easiest story to tell in professional wrestling will always be the bigger wrestler versus the smaller wrestler. The backstory doesn’t even matter. Let the picture do the talking. Big person = mean, small person = heroic. Easy. Done. A five year old kid can understand just as well as a seventy-five year old senior could. Let’s look at the easy way to bring her in on both Raw and SmackDown.

Kong on Raw: The Eve/Maryse feud continues for another month or two. Eve continues to get the better of Maryse, retaining the title every time they face off and frustrating Maryse to the point where she loses her mind. You can have Maryse cut promos (I know that letting a Diva talk for more than 10 seconds is rare for WWE – work with me here) talking about how she has found a new friend to help her. She can make references to this person for weeks. We can think it’s a guy. We can think it’s another girl that looks more like her. Then you cue up some intimidating music and who appears? Awesome Kong. She beats down Eve, Maryse wins her belt and suddenly you’ve got a new force in WWE. Along with Eve, who still has a long way to go before I call her a good worker, you’ve got Melina and Gail Kim on the Raw babyface side. Melina should be back in a couple of months. She can work fairly well. I think she’d be fine as an underdog babyface. In Kim’s case, she’s got incredible chemistry with Kong. Obviously WWE won’t acknowledge their past battles in TNA, but smart fans know. As for Maryse, she could have her own bodyguard in Kong. When the time is right, one of them turns babyface and you’ve got a feud there.

Kong on SmackDown: I think it would work way better on SmackDown. Beth Phoenix is the current Women’s champion with the bubbly Barbie twins Kelly and Tiffany filling out the roster. Beth’s main foes are Michelle, Layla and Vickie Guerrero as the consultant. What they could do is (similar to what I proposed on Raw) have Phoenix continually beat Michelle. Put Beth over as this unbeatable monster. That sets the stage for Kong. You can run a backstage segment with Vickie talking to Teddy Long about signing a new Diva unlike anybody we’ve ever seen before. Teddy asks who? Vickie pulls out a photo, shows it to Long and his eyes bug out. We never see it at home as a viewer, but we learn a couple weeks later that the person is Awesome Kong. Fast forward to either the Fatal Four Way PPV on June 20 or the Money in the Bank PPV on July 18 with the idea that Beth’s going to defend the title against a mystery opponent that Vickie has just signed. Phoenix is in the ring waiting when Kong shows up. She walks into the ring, stares down Phoenix and that visual alone puts over how big Kong is. She’s taller, she’s wider and she’s more of an intimidating presence than Phoenix. They work a match for a few minutes with Kong dominating until Beth is able to counter. She goes for the Glam Slam. Can’t do it. Shocking. No woman has ever been able to block the Glam Slam simply by being too big. Kong counters, pins and wins the Women’s Title. Then, if they want to make it really cheap, have Vickie announce that Kong has to defend the title against Michelle right now. She lays down, Michelle covers, wins the belt and Vickie pays Kong in cash for getting the belt off Beth. Months down the road, they can turn Kong babyface if they want. An easy story to tell.

Wouldn’t those angles be more interesting than the usual fare we get, especially from Raw? I think so. These aren’t stories you can tell with just any woman. You need somebody big like Kong, but also talented like Kong. That’s the key word: talented.

We’ve also heard public comments from very well respected wrestling legends Steve Austin and Jim Ross both endorsing Kong as being somebody WWE should hire. Listen to them, WWE. When Ross was in charge of WWE’s talent relations department (that basically means he was the company’s General Manager) from the late 1990s until 2005 he helped build the most successful roster that the company ever had. There are few people in American wrestling that can judge talent better than Jim Ross. If he’s going out of his way to put somebody over like that, you really should listen to him. As for Austin, he said this on Twitter: “If WWE has any brains they will hire you immediately…GOOD LUCK!!!” That whole “if WWE has any brains” is a big if, but let’s hope they do. After all, he is the “greatest superstar in the history of WWE” according to Vince McMahon. His opinion should matter. Stone Cold’s right. Awesome Kong would be great for WWE.

The addition of Kong would make everybody else better. She knows how to work. Her offense is believable, she sells moves well and when she puts people over, it makes you take notice because she’s the favorite in every match she’s in. There’s no other female they could hire that could elicit that response. Beth Phoenix has lost enough that fans barely believe that she is the “most dominant diva in WWE history” as they like to say. Kong could be that monster, which brings up another point. Doesn’t Vince love wrestlers that are monsters? Look at the men he pushes. The big guys always get the shot before the little guys. Why? Because people take notice of big guys. In Kong’s case, trust me, people would take notice.

The problem is this. Vince doesn’t think of the women as draws. He thinks they’re interchangeable. That’s why Maria and Mickie got fired even though they were clearly the most popular divas in the company. (It’s that plus WWE wasn’t going to be making money off their music aspirations although they’ll tell you of their “diva attitude” being the reason.) Look at the “blonde” spot on the roster. First there was Sable who was more of a model than wrestler, then there was Torrie who was more of a model than wrestler (what’s her record in bikini contests?), now there is Kelly and Tiffany, both of whom got hired through modeling agencies. In many ways he might be right. They are interchangeable. They all did the same thing where they smiled, had no personality and wrestled once in a while. That’s the problem, though. Yes, men want to see beautiful women in wrestling. We also want to see talent.

Why does WWE really need Awesome Kong? Because their group of female performers are as poor as they’ve been in the past decade since they started caring about the women again as workers back in 2001. It’s largely because their hiring practices are poor. Instead of scouring the indy circuit, they’d rather hire models in their early 20s that have a pretty smile. It’s that thinking that leads to no progress in a division that should have changed at least a little bit in a decade. You want progress? Sign Awesome Kong.

The ball is in your court, WWE. Awesome Kong wants to work for you. The solution is simple. Sign Awesome Kong.

  1. I really hope hope hope they do… Might actually make me interested… To bad they released mickie, I would have loved to see mickie vs awsome kong

  2. A good read, it shares a lot of the same opinions I have. I mean wrestling should be about wrestling, not the photo shoots I do get why it helps to have more ‘Diva’ looks, but still I think it should be mixed and that’s what made the Knockouts successful at first. However at the same time it frustrates me to see how the article disregards Kelly Kelly and Tiffany (Tiffany especially) just because how they were chosen,

At the end of the day, the wrestlers weren’t born wrestlers, they were probably estate agents and police officers or receptionists before they began in the indies, so some of these girls were models? Alicia, Tiffany, Savannah have all been impressive and the indy line is gonna end somewhere, nowhere else other than Shimmer and WWE are bringing in new girls. I just think some of the article has some of the narrow minded, book cover judged opinions and disregards some of the talent of these girls. Do they match up to Kong? No. But then I still don’t think they should be made out to be ‘lucky to be there’. I don’t think Tiffany’s there to be the next Sable or Torrie Wilson and to a degree nor is Kelly. Torrie spent half her WWE career doing the bikini contests, both of these girls have been training. I don’t see why it is these days more and more people complain about the Divas when back in 2004, SmackDown Divas were just used for rare matches and contests (Nidia, Sable, Miss Jackie, Torrie)

On the other hand, I do agree with the reasons why Kong should be hired. She’d be a great addition and I think at the end of the day, she could pull off breaking the mould moreso than anyone else.

  3. Amazing read. Great storylines that I’d love to see. WWE make this happen.

  4. Good article John. Awsome Kong would help bring women wrestling back to the WWE. Along with Awsome, they should consider Sara Del Rey who is an excellent wrestler. They have had many matches together (New York this weekend). Sara is the only one I have seen pick up Awsome and flip her. Good luck with your campaign.

  5. Tbh, I don’t really think WWE “needs”. They could survive perfectly find without her if they just keep using their divas in an effective way. We’ve already seen how well their divas can pull a segment, or match off when given a decent amount of time and good booking. Awesome Kong would be a good asset, but I don’t think they need her. I think there’s a lot of hype about Awesome Kong joining, which is unnecessary.

She isn’t even a fan of the product and always trashed WWE when she was in TNA.

  6. ^^ she just said that she possibly could be interested O.o &ndd
WWE Does need her look at the division right now its pure BULLSHIT!
Those storylines are amazing and awesome. with everyone saying kong should join WWE maybe wwe could see it and change there “Diva Look Rule”

  7. this article is great. i think looking glass is right about the divas who was models. i think women wrestlers have been models since the age of dawn. all divas basically was. attitude era and to now. indy girls are models too. so you can say hey i hate this girl because she use to be a model. when most female wrestlers are models. if fans take time like i do and do back check on women wrestler you would see. like mickie james. she was an exotic dancer and waitress. yeah guys mickie was a stripper. melina model. victoria/ tara model. jacquline model. hell even natalya did some modeling. but anyway kong would be a great add to the divas division.

but some more knockouts are looking to sign with wwe. taylor wilde and sarita contracts are terminating. never mind taylors tweet. she is really leaving. and wwe has been calling them. but taylor was unhappy with tna and is leaving as soon as her contract is up. now for sarita idk. but wwe has talked to them. i think they are said to be joining after the contracts are done. and idk if tna has a no compete in their contracts. but i want to see sarita and taylor. taylor could easily replace mickie. she is like mickie’s freakin blonde twin sister. and sarita i could see her as the next lita.
another thing is that the knockouts feel tara is making the knockouts locker room like the divas locker room. idk what they mean. i just read. i don’t quite follow. but i think tara will go to wwe again. maybe. but she maybe too old for them. but i hope she does return. but thats all i heard. lol diva-dirt i think i beat you to a post. lol i should be on the team. :)

  8. I wonder how many people proclaiming the Divas are important actually know the history of their use? The WWE has never had much interest in creating a GROUP of women, but one or two they market as THE WWE Divas. Wendi Richter, Sable, Lita, and Trish were all the prime divas in their time and in the long run, the Jaquelines or Ivories of the world were just there to support them. That has always been the business model for the women in the WWE and it has always worked for what the WWE wanted it to be.

Besides, Kong would have to deal with major things on both sides.

Raw is branded as the number 1. There will always be more stuff going on at Raw. There will always be more important stuff going on at right. Like it or not, if there isn’t a diva that is truly a star (ie has merchandise, put buns in the seats, etc.), then the divas just aren’t going to get time. It looks like they realize the potential Maryse and Eve has as stars.

SD, on the other hand, has something more powerful than a legit right hand from the Big Show in pro wrestling: Politics. Like it or not, the only reason Michelle’s push has lasted this long is because of them. NO ONE gets pushed for 3 years, not get a damn reaction, and stays pushed. Or if I am wrong, find me someone the WWE has pushed so dang hard and hasn’t gotten and reaction and still got pushed. I highly doubt that Kong will be able to fight that unless she really fought Michelle.. And would prolly get fired for it.

  9. Thanks to Mel for posting it and for the feedback so far. I’ll try to respond to it directly tomorrow.

The hardest part about writing the fantasy booking was not being able to use my favorite Mickie because I think she’d be the best opponent to Kong in terms of the big performer/little performer.

  10. I liked the Smackdown one up until Michelle became champion.
I can not stand another Simply Flawless womens championchip reign.
I also liked the Raw one.

  11. Id love to see Awesome Kong vs. Gail Kim again. Also would love to see Melina square off against her. Even towards the final year for Lita and Trish it seemed as though Cena and DX were hogging the whole show. So I don’t know how willing they are to push Kong in a brand(RAW)dominated by Cena and now the Guest Host crap. Let’s hope Flavor Flave takes the Bella Twins with him lol.

I had written a post on how Kong can break down those barriers that Chyna and Lita did back in the day. She can help steer the division to a brighter future if they use her right.

  12. I don’t think, no I hope kong doesn’t go to WWE. There womens division is a JOKE!!! And if kong were to go to wwe I’d lose alot of respect for her because she’d probably be doing it for money and to increase her name value. But whatever most of the people that comment on this site are divas fans and not womens wrestling fans (minus a few)and will probably agree with this article (good read btw)…. Although I would love to see Kong vs Melina….

  13. If they bring her in they should make her fued with Melina due to how could their ring experience would be, Kong doing those backbreakers she done to Christy and Melina would still be able to do BOTH finishers and signitures against Kong.

  14. Good read.
I’d like to see her on Smackdown, Just a little differently to how you would…

I’d like to see Beth (C) vs Michelle on Smackdown one week, with Beth retaining, Lay-Cool attack, Beth fights back and she’s getting the upper hand – Kong hits the ring, She awesome bomb’s Phoenix, Simply Flawless try to be her buddy – Kong ain’t having it and Implant Buster’s Michelle and Accordion Rack’s Layla.
Over the next few weeks she defeats Kelly, Tiffany & Layla in squash matches to put her over, the next week Beth defeats Rosa Mendes before her match with Kong at the next PPV.
At the ppv, Kong goes crazy and get’s DQ’d allowing Phoenix to retain, Before eventually getting the Championship off of Beth pretty soon there after.

Sounds SCHWWWWWWWWWEEEET to me :) <3

  15. There’s one major problem with this article. Kong doesn’t match what the WWE’s vision of what they want to be perceived as. They’re all about look and selling you a fantasy not wrestling. They don’t care if a person can wrestle or not, they’ll hide the wrestler’s flaws as long as they have the “look.”

Kong is a great wrestler, but there’s nothing for her to do in the WWE if they did hire her. All she’d have is 1 minute squash matches only to job to Michelle McCool in WWE’s continuing attempts to make her the next Trish Stratus, which always fail. Kong also wouldn’t be allowed to wrestle against the men, because their content is PG along with being afraid Linda McMahon’s political opponent with use Kong in attack ads claiming Linda approves man on woman violence. Kong may out weigh most male wrestlers, but all ignorant to wrestling voters will remember is “Linda McMahon condones man or woman violence.”

  16. @LaceyVonErich, again why do they “need” her. I see the difference between “needing” her and her being a great asset but i still stand by my opinion that they don’t need her. They barely use Gail Kim. The WWE would be fine just focusing on the Divas they have with building up good story lines, and feuds. They already have Divas who’re capable of putting on good feuds when given enough time and good booking.

It’s not like the Divas they have are completely incapable of putting on a good match with the right booking. Which is why to sad they “need” her is a bit much, IMO.

  17. Kong in WWE could definately work, but only if WWE is willing to make a few adjustments to their division. As the things are right now, i dont think she would fit in, nor do i want to watch her in such an environment. But if they revamp the division and focus it on Beth, Natalya, Kong and Melina, that would change things. But i dont think that’s going to happen.

Juan wrote: “I don’t think, no I hope kong doesn’t go to WWE. There womens division is a JOKE!!! And if kong were to go to wwe I’d lose alot of respect for her”

The Knockout division has been a joke since mid 2009 as well, to some extend even worse than wwe. So if you didnt mind her working there, then it’s kinda silly to suddenly loose respect for her if she moves to WWE. The only advantage of the knockout division is that their knockouts are allowed to work indy shows, which the WWE unfortunately doesnt allow.

  18. I’ve never seen Kong wrestle myself. And I doubt that I ever will. But what has become apparent to me is the fact that WWE needs Kong which they don’t.TNA is an altogether different show then WWE’s RAW an SmackDown.WWE is put on a good show. And I’ve looked at TNA a couple of times and noticed the crowds they don’t have. How do you get around that by putting on the best wrestling show you can.But how does WWE get the crowds by Enteraining the audicience with the Best of the sport .Gail Kim I understand came from TNA and back to Raw but doesn’t cut it as top Diva like Maryse.Melina ,and since EVE is getting a push well Gail had her chance.
Now as far as SmackDown I don’t know what it is as far as Beth is but you all want some how to see Beth taken down in the ring why I don’t know.Maybe seeing Beth destroyed makes you happy. How about trying to see Michelle trying to big boot Kong and Kong would just stand they’re an laugh at Michelle before Power bombing her.Remember this is a show about putting on the best show in the ring and some have got it and some ain’t.And you keep asking If WWE would change how it handles or the kind of matches the Diva’s have.Don’t look at Vnce look at his Daughter
Stephanie she’s head of creative not Vince. And remember she used to be Diva in wwe.Quit trying to want something else and enjoy what you have.If not change the channel and watch something different.Vickie had really no say in when Beth got her title match and On Extreme Rules that was up to wwe creative.Beth won that’s just the way it is.I just highly doubt you’ll ever see Kong in the WWE.

  19. If WWE is willing to take Kong seriously at all tymes and dont ruin her chracater after a period of time then im all for it.

They can easily bring her in as a monster have her dominate everyone , then PLOP she starts loosing they start calling her names , you will see her getting pinned by Kelly kelly’s K2.. if they screwed Lita , Mickie , Victoria & Maria. Then can damn sure do it to Kong. I just really hope Kong looks back at WWE’s history of Divas they couldhave done so much with and think abt it. Kong will b a 2 time womens champion then jobb the rest of her carrer. Some of you guys should know better then to hype kong to wwe just think…

  20. Rain (Peyton Banks) could be a nice addition to SD! and what about Victoria returning to SD as a heel.

  21. it´s very “nice” what was written but if that would happen,it would hurt too much,if not A LOT,Beth´s career
Kong taking off the belt from Beth, and then?what would happen to Beth´s character?it seens that there´s some kind of hysteria in seeing Beth being laid down by an heel and monstrous Kong…..IF Kong makes to the WWE why don´t make her an face and start beating McCool?

  22. To those that say it’ll never happen you’re missing the point a little. I’m saying it SHOULD happen. I’m saying WWE SHOULD change the way they book their women and hire their women. I’m not saying they will, but if they want to have a better booked women’s division then they should seriously do something different for a change. And Kong, because of her look & talent, would bring about that change.

In response to redsoul, Beth can make the comeback to get the belt. You need to build sympathy for her at first by having her lose the belt in a cheap way. For the first time in Beth’s career, she could be the underdog and it would make for a good story to see her get back to the top by overcoming the monster Kong.

For all this to happen they would have to change their philosophy in how they book the divas. At least a little bit. Will they? Probably not. And that’s the problem. Nothing changes.

  23. Obviously they don’t NEED Kong however, they could benefit from her character if they decide to hire her. As previously mentioned, she will help usher a new era for the WWE Womens Division. That is what we want to really see. Sure they can do plenty of things with the girls they have now..but that wouldn’t be enough to help move along the division into a better direction.

I remember as a fan how boring it was back in 99. The women wouldn’t do shit with a couple of exceptions. It was frustrating to watch them compete in all these gimmick matches. Then in 2000 Lita was introduced. She started performing these exciting moves that people didn’t realize a girl could do. Slowly but surely things started to change. Lita and Trish were a highlight in the show, Ivory was paired with RTC, Jacqueline was partnered with the APA and the division was taken somewhat seriously. The Womens Championship was defended in a main event with The Rock as referee, that was awesome. The matches were more about wrestling and less about evening gowns. Though I didn’t like Lita’s wrestling after she returned, I can’t deny the impact she made. She changed things for the better and helped the division get back on its feet. Then ofcourse, Trish Stratus helped it along after that.

The division needs a climate change, Awesome Kong can bring that to the WWE.

  24. Amazing guest blog. I totally agree with you and WWE would be dumb not to hire her. When Beth appeared, everybody wondered if she would be the Next Chyna and even though a lot of people still compare these two, there’s no woman who is so dominant in WWE since Laurer. And when I say dominant, I’m not talking about the women’s division. I’m talking about women’s and men’s division. I’m a big fan of Beth, but while Chyna faced without fear, the Undertaker, I can’t imagine Beth doing that. It wouldn’t be brave, it would be stupidity.
However Kong has the Chyna potential. She’s a woman who I can easily see has a Intercontinental or USA champion. And that’s how WWE would benefit with her hiring.
Not only she would be great for the Divas division, but she could also bring to WWE a girl power we don’t see for ages.

  25. Damn good column John and both stoylines sound awesome

  26. Great blog John & you’re spot on johnreport and what better way to start raising the profile and standard of the divas than getting Kong on board.

  27. The indies and Japan are where Kong shines the most and can do what she can really do. If they continue as they have been with the Divas then she will likely be paid but wasted.

Not trying to be negative but WWE’s disappointed me just way too many times by now to the point where I am just jaded and thinking it not to be a good idea. Not saying at all they couldn’t/wouldn’t hire her but how would they use her? They waste(d) so much great talent left and right that it’s just too dang disappointing. The way that they treat people who don’t bow down to them is too disgusting. Unless WWE makes a definite change with regard to their women then I’ma stick to my guns on this one. This is not in response to the article itself, just my opinion. And understand me on this: that is NOT to say that they couldn’t use her well. Only my hopes aren’t exactly floating in the sky right now. But like Donnie mentioned, maybe Kong could usher in another Golden Age of WWE women’s wrestling. If only they actually cared about women’s wrestling in the first place – I would freakin’ LOVE to see people like Kong, Sara Del Rey, MisChif, etc. in WWE (at least female wrestlers on their level if not the people themselves, given their situations).

@Robert – Please don’t limit yourself in what you watch as a fan of women’s wrestling. Kong put on some great matches with some of the best female wrestlers in the world that are, needless to say, worth watching. :)

  28. ^ Oh, and that’s not to say that you do (maybe you don’t – but just in case). Kong could wrestle men quite easily.

  29. Excellent read. I hear that WWE was in fact interested in Kong some time ago, but she turned them down. I do think it is possible, though. There are quite a few women that dont exactly fit the infamous Diva Image: Serena, Natalya, Beth. There is one thing that matters to WWE more than image: Money. Kia has said herself that if she were to be hired, there would be lots of money to be made and she is right. Besides, Kong and WWE has been hot news for a few weeks now. If they were smart, they would strike while the iron is hot.

  30. Well thought out article, I forgot to say!

  31. “In response to redsoul, Beth can make the comeback to get the belt. You need to build sympathy for her at first by having her lose the belt in a cheap way. For the first time in Beth’s career, she could be the underdog and it would make for a good story to see her get back to the top by overcoming the monster Kong. ”

if Beth can´t(that´s what i think) Glam Slam Kong, how the hell can she fightback a wrestler like Kong?even because the WWE isn´t to keen in letting her Divas having some moves, and Beth hasn´t been allowed to variate a lot her move set.so…all of the sudden Beth would make aerial moves and submission ones(because power moves wouldn´t work) just to defeat Kong?
the main problem it´s HOW the WWE treats the Divas.it´s a lot better to take care of what we already have in “our house” before we bring someone from outside.having a wrestler like Natalya only as a manager, keeping Serena just standfing there, giving untalented wrestlers undeserved ring time, releasing talented Divas….shall i go on?
    jeez…..

  32. I would like to see this, but they would need to restructure the division for me to be happy with it.

Personally I would have Beth, Michelle, Layla, Maryse, Gail, Natalya, Serena mostly on the same show (SD). Have the bimb.. i mean models Bellas, Eve, Kelly, Tiffany etc etc on Raw mostly as valets and guest host moments with perhaps the odd 5 minute match.

Then on SD I would have a serious division which gets at least 1 match per show, about 15-20 minutes dedicated to DIVA’s.

In this case, I would LOVE to see Awesome Kong. Otherwise, I don’t think the division is good enough for someone of her talent, although she could have a Chyna enforcer role for someone like Cody or Ted I guess.

  33. Also Kong is a draw. In the way people pay money to see Andre, Yokozuna, Khali.. Kong has that draw factor about her. It is silly for WWE not to sign her if they can. She could be the most dominant DIVA of all. Lots of WWE fans, especially children, will not have seen her and will be shocked when they do! I was :-)

  34. I would enjoy Kong in the WWE as a monster heel.
Also, it wouldn’t seem convincing if Kong has to job because we know what she can do and because of her size. It would piss people off if she had to job.
Also, if she did join it could steer the division in a direction that we definetly need right now.

  35. Great blog! I 100% agree with everything in it, and I love the creativeness in it! :P

  36. Gail hasnt been given a real oush or storyline. She was just thrown in that tournament to lose to Maryse. If WWE actually gave her segments and a reaosn for fans to care, they would flock to her in a heartbeat. At last week’s superstars, she even got chants, and thats without any kind of storyline to show her personality, just her talent. It would be the same with Kong. You can’t ignore how amazing she is and if WWE is serious about Eve, it would make sense for her to somehow overcome Kong and make herself legitament, but only after getting her bitt handed to her for a couple months :)

  37. “if WWE is serious about Eve, it would make sense for her to somehow overcome Kong and make herself legitament, but only after getting her bitt handed to her for a couple months”

I think this makes a good point (putting aside the indignation of the idea of a Diva Search winner triumphing over one of the most famous female wrestlers in the world – and I’m not against Diva Search winners per se because I think they CAN become great wrestlers too and everyone has to start somewhere). Like I’ve always said, I believe that Eve has the potential to b/c a good wrestler if she works hard at it (and maybe gets off RAW…). Having her beat Kong AFTER getting beat for a long time would be a great way to get her over. I see some fire in Eve that I would love to see a lot more of. She’s at a good starting point, now she needs to develop her skills in order for it to even be remotely believable.

Kong in WWE being allowed to show what she can do can force management and the Divas to elevate their game to compensate (those who are not that strong/good now) because suspension of disbelief can only go so far and if we see Maryse DDT Kong when the likes of MsChif and Death Ray have had a hard time against her it’s gonna be really stupid (though, unfortunately, there are too few women’s wrestling fans amongst the WWE universe who would know what she can do). In any case, if done right the whole division could rise.

I also agree with the idea of putting all the female wrestlers on one show and the Divas on RAW. I agree with your other sentiments, BrittnayD.
