You can only make one first impression, they say. And this past Monday on Raw, Sarona Snuka aka FCW’s Tamina, made her first impression but did Superfly’s baby girl make a lasting impression?
Snuka, who debuted with the Uso brothers, took to the top turnbuckle and came splashing down on Diva Dirt‘s favourite Hart.

If we consider that most new girls get introduced as an audience plants (Serena recently) or someone doing another job (Dawn Marie being McMahon’s paralegal), this debut was quite special. It’s really rare for a girl to debut and go straight into a wrestling role. It’s even rarer that the debut was an ambush of another diva. Our own Miss Astara did it, and had all the complication that came after it not happen, then I’m sure we’d be talking about it more. Granted, Nattie ironically enough made her own debut ambushing I think Michelle McCool (someone correct me if I’m wrong) too. Not as remembered but still good nonetheless.
My only complaint is that if this clip is going to be played for years to come, I’m going to notice the lack of care from the announcers.
WOW, look at that still picture. Sarona took the force of the big splash on her arms and wrist, which could of easily caused her to break her arms, her wrists, or even both.
Juicy, you are correct! Nattie jumped the guardrail and helped Victoria attack Michelle McCool and Cherry.
Super Fly!
I have mixed feelings about this.
They brought up these 3 b’cos Carlito got fired & the colons were meant to get a push for the tag belts, so i feel that they just decided to bring up any team.
Sarona did make an impression on me. Ive seen her in a match from a FCW house show and her skills are like Michelle, she can give it, but she werent that good at selling her oppenents moves.
If she gets put in a feud with Natalya, then Natalya will get the best out of her, i mean look at the match that eve had last year, that was eve’s best match.
Another heel raw diva, its a face we need but i just hope that sarona brings it.
& She’s not your average looking Diva
great debut for a diva. i especially liked how, not only she got to do actual wrestling moves, but her slam on natalya was highlighted pretty well by the camera peoples. out of the three “newbies” she seemed to be the focus.. for now, at least :)
It was an “OH SH!T” moment that was treated like a complete afterthought by the announcers, and the production team for that matter. King and Cole barely said a word while it was happening, and once it was over that was it. To my recollection there was no replay or any further discussion about it. No speculation as to whom these individuals might be that just laid out the tag team champions and their manager.
I’m sure there will be follow-up next week on RAW, but the announcers really dropped the ball on what should have been treated like a huge moment. I know that Matt Striker annoys a lot of people, but put him on RAW and at least he’ll feign surprise and give you a reaction in that spot
I voted -Yes- she did impress me. Obviously, she’s not of the cookie cutter mold Divas we’re used to seeing. She reminds of of Billie The Blue Bear of Million Dollar Baby which in turn, reminds me of Jazz.
Her debut impressed me. She has this intense look about her. I hope her in ring skills match the attitude she displays. I can’t wait to see more of her. Now I have something to look forward to for RAW. ((For now :P))
I am thrilled at this new development. For one thing, they are bringing us new blood. We are all tired of seeing the same faces, week in and out in these random ass tag matches. Finally someone new has stepped up to the plate in big way and has us wanting more. Secondly, NATALYA IS GOING TO HAVE A FEUD!!! Sure, there has been alot of talk about Sarona being green in the ring, but Natalya can make even the worst of wrestlers *coughMariacough* look half way decent. I was deeply dissapointed in Lawler and Cole. I truly dislike Matt Striker, but at least he makes an effort and pretends to care, no matter how small something may seem. Anyway, I cant wait to see how things turn out.
@TNAFan80 Doesn’t she need to land that way? She can’t splash Natalya, that would burst her implants.
i’d love to hear the reasons why she didn’t impress the people who voted no..
i think her debute was great, she did more on Natalya then then the guys did to eachother, and she even got close ups, and a plus she wasn’t the one that almost fell of the turnbuckle :P
I’m looking forward to see Serona VS Natalya soon
*off the turnbuckle*
Lovee How WWE Dont Caree Howw She Looks, Nice Move From Themm, All They Have To Do Is Releasee The Princesses And There Division Couldd Maybee Be Better Than The KO’s Division.
I love Natalya and I could picture a fabulous feud happening. That would be 3 diva feuds for Raw tho, idk if they could handle that. Haha.
Oh shyt! That’s right! This is 3 women feuds that can possibly happen this coming week. That’s exciting for me personally as a diva fan. As much as I don’t like certain feuds, I guess its better to have something than nothing at all.
I don’t like Maryse’es wrestling, I’ve said that enough, but I do enjoy her persona outside the ring. She’s a good heel I can’t deny. Eve is hot and she’s coming along, I just hope she does better and tries to standout more. She needs to get better fast or lose the Title.
I’m becoming a big fan of Alicia Fox, she’s good at what she’s been doing so far. She has that rag-doll effect when she sells a move, which I think is a good thing, Lita and Trish were good at that too. Anyway, A.Fox is one sassy gal haha.. Ofcourse I love Gail Kim. I think their feud is going to end soon after the 4Way match, if it happens. Or….A.Fox can win the title and have Gail Kim chase her for it. That would be great! But where does this leave Jill Hall? We need to see her somewhere before she gets the pinkslip.
I’m also very happy to see Natalya do something more than a, “Let’s go get em” character. With Tamina’s arrival, as JR used to say, “Business is about to pick up!” And I can’t wait. This could be Hardy Boyz and Lita vs. T&A and Trish Stratus inspired. I hope it is. Id love to see Tamina throw Natalya off a ladder and through a table.
You’d have to be high in order to say no.
@TNAFan80, the forearm is the second strongest bone in the entire body, you’re supposed to land on it. Knees/legs are more fragile and therefore more dangerous. :)
I think Sarona made a good debut, but it’s the follow-up that really matters, so we’ll see.
First of all Sarona Snuka didn’t just attack anybody. She jumped some who’s back ground is Wrestling itself. And one time doesn’t quite get herself an automatic spot on the WWE roster.Yes she may have some size on her being a few inches taller then Beth and weighting close to a decent poundage. But that’s all.And yes i know and watched Jimmy “SuperFly” Snuka .Just a daughter who’s trying to get in.Man he was always great to watch him in the ring. And she’s gonna have to have some charisma in the ring .Not just moves .And like The Miz got to have that “It factor.
TNAFan80 wrote: “WOW, look at that still picture. Sarona took the force of the big splash on her arms and wrist, which could of easily caused her to break her arms, her wrists, or even both.”
She didnt land on her arms, the rest of her body caught the initial impact, that picture is somewhat misleading.
Personally I loved her debut! Like Kaledrina said, it was a great debut for a diva. I like her look as well.
I voted no because WWE didn’t do enough to make me care. Three wrestlers rushed the ring and attacked the Unified Tag Team Champions and their manager and neither Michael Cole or Jerry Lawler even cared to follow the storyline with their announcing. The niece and the nephew of the RAW General Manager are attacked and the announcers can‘t even spend a few minutes talking about what just happened, speculated why it happened, speculated who it was?
I don’t know what this girl is like in the ring, honestly, but giving Nattie something to do is always a plus. I might actually just check out WWE once in awhile to see what happens.
I thought it was a great debut and because it gives more hope to seeing Natalya in the ring I’m happy.
Hell Yes, Sarona will give us a New ‘Glamazon’ in the Making, I have seen some of her matches in WXW and she is Awesome on the Mic & In The Ring. Looking how they attacked the Hart Dynasty from out of no where was cool, but in all honesty I wish Umaga could have been a part of this Fued. (RIP Umaga) It Would have been good to have a Veteran in the Business be able to coach and aid the Three in their development in WWE. Sarona is an Awesome Talent and can produce Awesome Promo’s I Just Hope that they can get into a fued with the Hart Dynasty and we actuallt see Nattie and Sarona WRESTLE!! We All Want that Fued to Take Place and we hope that WWE CAN DELIVER!!!
I think that it was cool that they came out of nowhere but I didn’t like how they were perched up on the ropes for what seems like an infinity before they splashed down. Other than that, it was fine. Sarona was looking good. I’ll have to get a better look at the guys to see if either is drool-worthy.
“i’d love to hear the reasons why she didn’t impress the people who voted no..”
i voted no,. not necessarily her fault but watching it, it just failed to impress me the slightest. for one one of the guys fell of the turnbuckle, they apparently tried to make us think one scoop slam could keep the tag team champs and there manager down for 30 seconds!? and the commenting was shit, oh and she did not execute the frog splash correctly. but i guess you could explain why it was so great?
“neither Michael Cole or Jerry Lawler even cared to follow the storyline with their announcing. The niece and the nephew of the RAW General Manager are attacked and the announcers can‘t even spend a few minutes talking about what just happened, speculated why it happened, speculated who it was?”
This may be a guess…but I assume that WWE was trying to keep a secret on who they were from the viewers…even though it was a poorly executed/kept one… especially to some of us who use the internet….Let us not forget that WWE changed their demographic and most of the viewers are children…ones who may not even use the internet unlike us vet watchers who can simply just google…and of course watch FCW sometimes.
I have to agree with kggraham about the unimpressive slight turnbuckle botch one of the Usos had…not really a good idea to botch a move on your first exposure on Television…the critics of wrestling are brutal….especially the ones on Pro Wrestling Torch and The Wrestler (the magazine) where they immediately labeled them as sloppy….
as for the scoop slam…obviously most of the moves in the WWE are…Scripted…wrestlers don’t execute their own moves and/or do their own thing in the ring unlike in TNA or any other place…in WWE…I dunno who tells them…creative possibly…someone tells the wrestler to do this or that or anything else….not really the Uso’s and Sarona’s fault…its the simple fact that they are told to do the scoop slam…I assume they had a better attack in mind…but because they are new they have no say in it -shrugs-
all and all I don’t think anything was wrong in their debut….aside from the botch and scripted scoop slam…it was quite wonderful seeing new faces that will rival the hart dynasty or any other tag team out there…I thought it was slightly surprising…even though the writers didn’t really give into much work on this…i don’t blame the Samoan trio…they deserved more…but like all newcomers they get the lazy write up :\…oh well…maybe better treatment will happen next week :D
my two cents
Guess If You Have Facebook Join Bring Jillian Hall To Smackdown……….
I can’t honestly say if I was impressed or not because I feel like there wasn’t enough done to make a judgement, but it is nice to see someone out of the ordinary standard that the WWE has upheld when it comes to divas. I look forward to seeing more from her though/
I think the people who voted ‘no’ are those are mark for the FCW girls…
Seriously, if it was someone like Naomi Knight or whoever, they would be like OMG yay she finally came up yay she’s amazing!
That shot of Sarona doing that kind of move with the risk of really getting hurt, that show’s she’s sloppy and that’s something she can not afford in the wwe. They came out and acted like cause of who Sarona’s father is and Uso’s parents are if I am not mistaken .What other stuff has their family done like what the Hart family ‘s father did to make most of the top talent in the WWe.Yes they may want respect but how about them actually facing the Hart Dynasty in a series of TAg matches with no belt on the line and see how they work in the ring. And let Natayla have some work in the ringwith Sarona and see just what kind of worker in the ring she is.Not all of SuperFly’s work was off the top rope.Alot of his work was actually done inside the squared circle which Superfly was very good at .I am a big fan Of Jimmy “SuperFly ” Snuka . But his daughter doesn’t impress me one bit.She and the Uso’s have a long way to go .Yes these matches made it look like they can’t be touch and they’re not very far away from those titles but they’ve got ot earn them. And see if they can get any fans by the work they do in the ring.
im glad to see natalya in ring action but i feel like these 2 girls should actually go for the divas championship rather than being managers cause right know from the looks of it smackdown is trash and so is raw
