Returning TNA Knockout, Roxxi whose comeback aired last week on Impact, is shooting to the top of the Knockouts roster with a Knockouts Championship match against Madison Rayne at the Slammiversary pay per view on June 13th.

The match was announced last night on Impact and comes after Roxxi defeated Rayne in a non-title match in her return match.

Surely, the fastest turnaround from debut [kinda] to title shot, no? The move certainly raises some eyebrows considering the fact that TNA has girls like Sarita, Taylor Wilde and Hamada on its books — all of whom were overlooked for this position. Rather, TNA went outside the company and brought back Roxxi. However, there’s no denying the Hardcore Knockout is mighty popular at the Impact Zone and has a strong work rate; her match with Hamada at December’s New Year’s Knockout Eve speaks for itself.

What do you say? Much too soon or deserved?

  1. it’s a bit soon, but then again Tara’s title shot was very soon as well
and technically Roxxi has been there longer then a lot of the Knockouts
I’m a bit undecided on the situation

  2. ^ i agree, but if it wasn’t roxxi it would’ve been odb, so i’m pretty pleased with this outcome. i think it’s too soon for madison to drop it, especially to somebody who she’s barely feuded with, so i’d rather her go over on roxxi than if it was somebody else, such as sarita or taylor.

  3. Kinda soon and even though I like Roxxi I think she’s kinda rusty because of her injury. There were other good options.

  4. I am a little torn about it as well. Are we even sure if Roxxi coming back to TNA is permanant? I love Roxxi but I feel like Harmada, Sarita or Taylor should have been given this oppurtunity. Roxxi came back and was given this shot, but the three of the other knockouts have been almost stuck in limbo. And in a way it doesn’t seem fair. But regardless, I am happy it is Roxxi and not ODB.

  5. I don’t think it’s too soon. Tara left and the only other babyface the writers had invested any time in whatsoever for the last 6 months was out with an injury. They needed someone credible who could get over quickly as a babyface. Angelina & Daffney weren’t cleared to wrestle and Sarita, Taylor & Hamada have all been buried. And since ODB is in the doghouse with management, who else were they going to go with?

Roxxi’s always been really popular and, unlike ODB, she should be able to carry Madison to a decent match. If it was a choice between Roxxi & ODB for this spot, they definitely made the right call. No offense to ODB, but her vs. the Beautiful People really isn’t something I want to watch. They need at least one woman in the ring who can work a good match.

Besides, anyone who says Roxxi doesn’t deserve this push can bite me. That woman has been jerked around by this company more times than I can count over the last 3 years. She let them shave her head and got nothing for it, she got her title push cut short so Christy Hemme could get one instead, she got released due to BS backstage politics, she was brought back only to break her ankle in a match and then get released AGAIN while she was on the shelf. She deserves a little something for all the crap they’ve put her through.

  6. I’ve heard it’s mainly for budget reasons. Sarita and Hamada cost too much (well, they don’t really, but TNA don’t like spending money on their division) and Roxxi is making as much as a Macdonald worker if the rumours are true.

  7. I feel like if she doesn’t get a SHOT to get the title now (not even talking winning it), she’s not going to get it later.

I think she deserves it though. Her work is consistent, you can tell she loves what she does, and she takes crazy pumps! Truly commendable and of need of a reward.

  8. Roxxi definitely deserves this shot, she has worked hard to get it!

-suebenden8 Those other three Knockouts don’t deserve it, they have all already held titles & Roxxi has not held a title on TNA so she deserves it more!!

  9. Gina22,

LOL at “Roxxi is making as much as a Macdonald worker”.

I feel sorry for the knockouts. But I do think Roxxi deserves it,
but to bad she would only be in TNA f
    or couple more weeks.

  10. I hope TNA doesn’t release Hamada, Taylor Wilde, or Sarita for their 15 to 20 roster cuts because of thier budget cuts. Because if they did it would be a kick in the but for how they’re treating them lately.

  11. Work rate wise Roxxi definately deserves a title shot. Storyline wise absolutely not. TNA can’t decide whether or not to keep Roxxi or not. Roxxi has been the Yo-Yo of TNA. Bring her in, let her deliver some great matches, give her a title shot, she does the job, ok we don’t need you anymore. We’ll call you when we think we need you. Madison Rayne vs Roxxi at Slammiversary should be a great match if TNA Creative gives these ladies enough time to put on a PPV Quality Match. 10 – 15 minutes would definately give each lady a chance to showcase their full in-ring skills and satisfy the fans in the Impact Zone, plus the PPV fans that pay $34.95 or $39.95 for the show. The Drawback to all of this like always is NO STORYLINE/CHARACTER BUILD-UP!!!!! Roxxi should’ve returned and defeated the other Knockout’s to Earn a title shot. When she injured herself in the match vs Hamada back in Dec ’09 she was written off TNA T.V. by being attacked by Lacey Von Erich with the Ugly Stick aka Nightstick. The logical return would’ve been a backstage interview with Roxxi and Roxxi wanting revenge on LVE for “kayfabe” injuring her and saying once she takes out Lacey she’ll be zeroing in on the TNA Knockout’s Championship. As usual TNA Creative can’t remember and capitalize on a ready made storyline feud Roxxi vs Lacey Von Erich and countinue to build Roxxi as the next worthy challenger for the Knockout’s Title. If Roxxi is booked to defeat Madison Rayne at the PPV for the Knockout’s Title then I guess she’s officially back on TNA’s payroll ? If she jobs to Madison Rayne she’s gone for another 6 months to a year ? Either way the Knockout’s Division continues on the Pathway to Skankville. Thank You Eric Bishoff, Hulk Hogan, and Vince Russo for your Mindless, Perversion, Destruction of a once Watchable, Enjoyable, and Profitable part of TNA the Knockout’s Division. A Triple Thank You to Dixie Carter for allowing these guys aka “Cancer” to do this.

  12. @DarkJoker
calm down, the KO division is not dead YET, they cannot take sarita or taylor because we need them for the tag team titles, considering its the only other KO tag team. and hamada cant fead for the belt because she has not been on TV for ‘no reason’ whereas roxxi played an injury last time she was there. every time a great match gets booked(madison vs roxxi) theres still something to complain about. sorry we cant have a dream match at every ppv!

  13. I think it’s deserved. The Impact Zone loves her and Roxxi has more than proven herself. It’s just too bad that I think there’s no way in Hell they’ll let her win. LOL

  14. Deserved.
Anyone remember the amount of title shots she got in her 4 year run in TNA?
    2 maybe?

  15. ^ yep, two exactly. once against kong back when the division was focused around her destruction and there was also the taylor vs kong vs roxxi match when wilde was champion i think it was at the bound for glory directly after gail left.

if anything, i think it’s great tna are back to having regular title matches, we’ve been bitching the past few months about how little prestige both of the ko divisions have concerning the belts. madison going over roxxi will just add to the prestige and that’s good.

  16. Deserved, I think. If they weren’t going to push Sarita, Taylor or Hamada, then at least they’re pushing someone like Roxxi who’s popular with the crowd, works hard and has a good skill set.

  17. They are gonna push people who are popular, so there’s no point in complaining.

  18. Well, she did beat the champ non-title without any shenanigans. However, that last match was dull. Shouldn’t you like wanna put interesting match ups on a PPV?
