Last week’s Raw gave me a sense that the Divas Championship feud was on the decline, quality-wise, but I was hopeful that it was a one-week thing and the WWE would again devote the same attention to the feud that they had for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, it looks like they’re headed in that same southward direction, as this week we were given the type of match that completely exposes the lack of creavity on the part of the WWE booking staff: the mixed tag team match. And not only that, it was a mixed tag team match in which the parings made little sense: Eve teamed with Santino to take on the dynamic duo of… Maryse and William Regal? Did I miss a week of buildup that would connect these four people together? No? Okay, I’ll just go with it:

Before the match can begin, Santino tries to butter up Vladamir Kozlov, even putting up Eve for barter. She’s not into the idea. Anyways, with the bargaining over, Maryse and Eve start out the match, Maryse getting the first blow when she knees Eve in the stomach. She whip Eve into the ropes, but Eve turns the tables, rolling over Maryse’s back and hitting a dropkick. This is enough for Maryse, apparently, and she tags in William Regal. This brings Eve out and Santino in.

The men wrestle for a bit until Regal locks Santino into a crossface maneuver. Eve come in and breaks the hold in a move that’s uncharacteristic, but interesting. Babyfaces are often so one-dimensional, so it’s nice to see her break the rules a bit. Maryse, playing the vengeful babyface in this scenario, comes in and attacks Eve, and the two tussle. The referee is distracted by this, allowing Kozlov to come in, swerve Regal, and chokeslam him. Maryse, for some reason, leaves with him, and Eve and Santino get the win.

The whole match seems tossed together at the last minute, from the booking to the pairing of two seemingly unrelated feuds. It shortchanges the Divas Championship feud when Maryse and Eve are used to merely put over Kozlov’s turn. Not only did this match combine two feuds in a haphazard way, but it demotes the Divas to the level of these lower-card wrestlers, and the importance of their feud diminishes. They barely even wrestled! It’s as if they hit a few requisite moves and were then promptly ushered out. It certainly exposes the fact that the bookers have no idea what to do with this feud. I think, if this is the type of creativity they have left for this feud, then they should just cut it short. There’s nothing for the fans to get behind, and any fire these two have between each other has fizzled out in the course of two weeks. Let’s move on to something else, because once the steam runs out of a feud this quickly and suddenly, there’s little hope to regain it. It will be tough to get the fans back into it, so they better start working up a contingency plan. Time for a new challenger for Eve, perhaps? Dare I suggest that Maryse be pushed to the background?

But, while one feud runs off the tracks, another is just leaving the station. Last week, Tamina made her debut as part of a 3-on-3 attack by her and the Uso brothers on the Hart Dynasty and Natalya. This week, they formally introduced themselves to the audience:

The men introduce themselves as Jay and Jimmy Uso and tell us that they’re “not your typical Samoans”. Whatever that insinuates is anybody’s guess, but the most interesting part of the promo was when Tamina took the mic. She says that they respect the Hart Dynasty, but are not happy that their family does not receive the same respect. Tamina laments that her father, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, didn’t get the respect he deserved. She says that they were created to dominate.

The Harts run down to the ring, and the brawl begins. Tamina and Natalya eventually separate on the outside, but after Tamina helps the Usos turn the tide, Natalya tries to avenge this, and is met with a sick clothesline from Tamina. The three hit the Harts with frogsplashes like they did last week, with Tamina getting a ridiculous amount of height on hers. They get the last laugh, once again.

I think the promo could have been written a lot better, the Usos and Tamina showed a lot of potential. Tamina certainly has personality, but her jitters were visible. Maybe in the coming weeks, they can get more comfortable and carve out their character better, because even after that promo, I’m not really sure who they are. They’re upset that the Harts have a legacy that their family doesn’t, and I’m sure that’s a fien starting point, but this feud needs more substance to really run on all cylinders. Tamina and Natalya are already beating the crap out of each other, so I’m sure they’ll have some nice confrontations on the outside of the ring in the near future.

A match probably isn’t too far off either, but I hope they build up that heat before letting them wrestle each other. Tamina, if reports are to be believed, is a bit green in the ring, but if anyone can get a good match out of her, it’s Natalya. She’s in capable hands, and this could prove to be a feud that has everything the Maryse and Eve feud does not: intensity, excitement, and the sense of freshness. This has a lot of places and directions to go, and I’m excited to see it develop. Maryse and Eve’s feud has proved that the tide can turn, good or bad, in the blink of an eye, so here’s hoping Tamina and Natalya can keep the fire going for as long as possible. Building up to a big in-ring confrontation would help achieve that.

To round off the Divas action tonight, Alicia Fox proved to be more than a mere shadow to Zach Ryder tonight in his quest to discover who guest host Ashton Kutcher appointed to carry out a hit on him, much like in Ashton’s new movie “Killers” (IN THEATERS THIS FRIDAY~~~!!). This was in response to Ryder dissing Kutcher on Twitter, which I guess to Ashton is the equivalent of taking a dump in his front lawn. Throughout the night, Ryder worried himself sick, and he and Alicia ended up in the ring, pleading with Ashton to tell him who this mystery “assassin” is:

After Ashton pulls a few fake-outs, Alicia takes the mic, telling Ashton that she is sick of this joke. She drops the mic, and Ryder goes to pick it up. Once he’s bent over, Alicia whips out the scissors kick, taking him out and revealing herself to be Ashton’s hit-woman. She celebrates and dances a bit, leaving the ring triumphantly.

It was a cool little twist and a nice moment for Alicia, but I’m sure, like all things Alicia, that this will have much impact going forward. The WWE likes to tease pushes for her, but them yank them away. Next week, she’ll probably be back on the bench in the Divas division. Personally, I think she’s a fitting replacement for Maryse in the stalling Divas Championship feud. This would be a nice little device to propel her into that feud, but I know I’m thinking too far into it. Alicia deserves the push, but in all likelihood, it will be quite a while before she gets it, if she ever does.

So, tonight’s show kind of mirrors last week’s; the in-ring action disappointed, but the non-wrestling fare was highly entertaining. Natalya and Tamina have a interesting thing brewing, and Alicia got all “You got Punked!” on Zach Ryder while being in cahoots with Ashton Kutcher, but Maryse and Eve were relegated to lower-card fare, putting over a Kozlov swerve instead of building on their own feud. The motivations of the WWE’s bookers seem to be mixed. I like some of the things they’re putting out, but to let the Divas Championship feud fizzle out like they have, it’s clear that their heads aren’t on straight. Unless they can somehow reignite the fire (once again) in this feud, I think it’s time to put it to bed.

  1. Good review Erin. Your right about Creative, they seem sort of stuck on the Eve/Maryse feud. Where do they go after tonight? Next week is a Supershow, so LayCool will be involved I’m sure. They should pull the plug and let Jillian Hall make her way into the Title picture. Seriously, I know nobody cares about her anymore. And its far fetched to think she’s going to be given some sort of push….but I just feel its now or never. Now or she gets released soon. I don’t want to see her go without atleast one proper reign as Champion. Otherwise, its goodbye WWE and hello TNA.

  2. I think we would probably be saying the samething for Alicia good bye WWE and hello TNA. If it wouldn’t for Zack Ryder she would have gotten release I read it on another website. Now since her and Zack seem to be over and she kind of messed up during that segment and didn’t really got any pops(so didn’t Zack Ryder but the blame would be on her and not him). I’m just so nervous for Alicia right now.

I didn’t really see the point of that mixed tag team match they just did it to turn that guy a face. The Uso brothers are ghetto but they segment was really great.

  3. I hope that the Divas actually get a match, since most of the WWE Universe doesn’t care about the Divas match. Since they make a piss break during their matches, but if they do vote it will probably be a Swimsuit Match. Just guessing! 12 Diva Swimsuit Tag Match, anyone? :(

  4. I’m still interested in the Maryse/Eve feud, if only because I’m anxiously awaiting the match that Maryse wins and becomes a three time Diva’s champion. I guess I haven’t been paying attention to Raw over the past few weeks because I had no idea that Santino and Regal were feuding and that Koslov was even active on the show. Wow. We need more backstage altercations and sneak attacks and promos from both Eve and Maryse to get the fire going again.

I said last week that I wasn’t really impressed with the Usos and Tamina, but wow did they prove me wrong this week. They all looked good and they were pretty impressive in the ring. That clothesline from Tamina was sick! I loved it, really looking forward to some matches between her and Natalya because I’m guessing they’ll be good and a lot different from what we’re used to on Raw. Natalya deserves a feud like this and I’m glad she is getting it.

  5. The E seems high on Alicia..I wouldn’t worry for her just yet. They seem to like her one way or the other, she’s been getting a lot of attention recently. I don’t know wether we should believe those reports or not, they’re not always accurate.

I don’t understand what goes through the brains of WWE’s Creative. I mean really..

A.Fox is obviously more capable than Maryse in the ring and can draw decent heat as well. Why not stick her in a Title feud? Really, there’s no good reason not to. These writers get paid good money, vacation and everything-to not do their jobs right. Pay me half of what they’re making and ill give you something good to watch. We’re not trying to figure out time travel here.

  6. Alicia Fox to Smackdown Possibly!?

  7. it was a great night concerning the alicia and natalya/tamina stuff, but at the same time they’ve pretty much destroyed two budding stories (gail/evan and alicia/zack, as well as dropping the bal oin maryse/eve) in the space of two weeks.

i do hope alicia isn’t a face now, unless she somehow gets traded to smackdown. and i agree, just like gail kim, it’s as if some people backstage like her but others don’t, as they both seem to get semi-pushes but then have them yanked away. it’s really cruel, ‘cos for instance, the jillian fans never have that slither of hope to begin with.

  8. Last night was a good RAW, except for the randomness they suddenly put Eve and Maryse in. I like the fact that Alicia betrayed Ryder. Also like this Hart Dynasty/Usos feud, because we might actually see Miss Natalya wrestle.

  9. Forgot to say: They should move some Diva from RAW to SD! Urgently.

  10. Great write up Erin (:

I agree with you about the tag team match. To me, it was just weird. And it served no purpose whatsoever. And for Maryse to go to the back with Koslav made even less sense. So I don’t know what is going to happen with their feud. I feel like creative has no idea what to even do next, which is sad. Maybe things can turn around next week…

I loved the promo with Tamina. She was shakey. But I am sure I would be to my first time talking in front of an audience like that. i am sure over time, she will get better. And that clothesline she did to Natayla was amazing.

I loved Alicia last night. But I wonder if they are even going to push her. I was getting into her little feud with Gail. But I guess they dropped that? So I am not sure what is going to happen next.

  11. well the match sucked, yet again Santino eats into the Divas time, at least Maryse had a hot new attire, i love the corset

    both segments were good
i didn’t expect Alicia, but as soon as he dropped the mic i had a feeling she would do her finisher, I’m just wondering if that was a face turn for Alicia?

Tamina has been made to look real powerful, tripping the dynasty, taking down Natalya twice

and it’s nice she got to talk on the debut, her partners reminded me of cryme tyme… in sweater vests *shudders*

  12. I like the Uso’s, Tamina has a lot of potential on the mic. She wasn’t good, but she could be if she keeps working on it. Loved Foxxy tonight! Although, the less said about the match, the better. :P

  13. I have been having a hard time getting behind the Eve/Maryse feud. With Maryses lack of in-ring skill and Eves lack of charisma, the Divas Championship seems kinda wasted on these two. In my opinion, anyway. I enjoyed Alicia turning on Zach. The crowd was kind of dead, but I think that it was because the segment was so boring. She got a nice little pop when she started dancing around. I hope that this doesnt mean that she is turning face. The E creative team seem to have no idea what to do with a Diva that turns face. Alicia is comfortable as a heel, and she would only grow if she got more time on the mic and a decent storyline. Also, Tamina impressed me. Even though she was a little shaky on the mic she sounded far more sincere than the twins. The guys were trying a little too hard to sound ghetto, while Tamina tried her best to sound genuin. And that attack was really cool. Cant wait to see where it goes.

  14. Erin great write up, you hit the mark with all of your assessment of each segment. What the Uso’s were insinuating is the fact that historically Samoan wrestlers have been saddled for better or worse with gimmicks that portray them as unintelligent, brutal savages and the Uso’s are a new breed of Samoan that steer away from this imagery. They’re street wise, smart, dominant and destructive, methodical, let’s hope they and Tamina can keep it going.

@xxChristinaxx personally i’m tired of the word “ghetto” so carelessly thrown about when it comes to describing a wrestling character that has an urban slant or streetwise edge to them, as a black person I find it demeaning to minimize a character in such a way. For the record I was never a fan of Cryme Tyme although they were made to be a parody of a true ghetto lifestyle and mentality. I for one was not amused and saw them as par for the course when it comes to WWE’s treatment of wrestlers that come from diverse ethnic backgrounds and cultures.

the only things good about the mixed tag match to me were Eve’s back roll and thing ring work by Santino and Regal. I’m in total agreement with Erin in that Eve needs a new feud or the writers need to re work the current proceedings to make us care, maybe adding another Diva would give this program something for the fans to get excited about.

As for the final segment, saw it coming from a mile away, but it was fun, effective and really gave Alicia a stellar moment to shine, I hope WWE takes notice of what she was able to do last night and really invests more time in her, she’s a special talent.

  15. Great Write Up Erin!
I tried to understand like why did Maryse leave with Kosloaf…..wierd….ne ways movin on there is nothing to say abt that match….

ALICIA FOX nd her lovely legs…..Hmmmm mmmmm Iove alicia fox not onlydoes she deserve a push but she deserves the divas championship as well….I just hope wwe sees that…this just goes to show that wwe has to push maryse b cuz clearly this fued wont end ne time soon

  16. Saying someone is ghetto is not neccesarilly a racial slur. As a black person, I know the difference. By saying that they are trying too hard to sound ghetto, I mean that it doesnt sound like they really talk like that. That may or may not be the case, I dont know. There is nothing wrong with using that sort of slang. I was just stating my opinion based on an observation.

  17. Love this article…esp the title. Spot on!

  18. “i agree, just like gail kim, it’s as if some people backstage like her but others don’t”

I don’t think you can blame Gail’s lack of push on backstage stuff. Gail has been VERY lackluster since she came back last year.

    Few things:
    - Anyone else think Maryse should keep the jacket thing-y on as part of her attire? I think it looks great haha
    - Someone please tell Eve to quit trying to do dropkicks
    - Maybe Kozlov will be Maryse’s new bodyguard or something
    - I really hope Tamina’s voice isn’t really that screechy and those were nerves last night
    - That whole Wild Samoans Jr. promo was pretty bad. The delivery was bad. The content was bad.
    - I guess I don’t see what is so great about Alicia. Her walk to the right last night seemed so forced. Her mannerisms seemed so forced. Everything. lol
    - And can Alicia get a move that would result in her landing on her butt? It just looks really sloppy whenever she does her only move, you know

And, Andre, “ghetto” wasn’t originally used for black people..

  19. RedhotVixen i understand what you’re saying, but for me personally when the word ghetto gets thrown around so much, I find it troubling and upsetting, As most people tend to equate a ghetto mentality with urban culture or lifestyle, when there’s a distinct difference between the two, I’m not saying that was Christina’s intention or yours. I can tell the difference like you can. I simply get uneasy with the term being used, much like in the same vein as the usage of the N word. To me there’s little difference between that and using ghetto as a descriptor.

  20. I know I’m in the minority, but the Alicia/Zack segment drove me up the wall…Am I supposed to believe that the ‘hit’ Zack Ryder was worrying about was one move? Even if I did believe that, he didn’t sell it at all. The only thing that segment accomplished was breaking up Zack and Alicia, which is fine with me. Alicia bothers me to no end (bad weave, bad actress, walks like Vince, etc…)

  21. Ebmich, I’m very aware of that fact and where the term ghetto originated. Just saying that in America in the world we live in today, the word ghetto is most often used when talking about people who live in an urban enviroment. More often than not the people being called ghetto are black and i find it a little upsetting is all.

  22. @Andre – I dont 100% agree, but I see where you are comming from. Agree to disagree? =)

  23. @The_Eric Alicia bothers you? :(

She’s not so bad. Wrestlers are usually not meant to be amazing actors. They’re supposed to exaggerate their movements so even the people in the cheap seats can see what’s going on.

  24. Oh but of course RedHotVixen and i respect your point of view even though we aren’t in total agreement, I’m just a bit more sensitive to racial stereotyping in the media, based on my experiences in life, although i’m hardly the so called militant and angry black man.

Oh God, I just had a horrible Nation of Domination flashback!, lmao!!!!

  25. Oh and that “hit” that Ashton but on Zack, it was more of a “You Got Punked” sort of deal. I was just thinking, its possible that next week Alicia and Ryder might make up. She could tell him it was just a joke and whatnot. I don’t want Alicia alone and without any direction. We know what happens to the divas that are stuck in that position. Just ask Katie Lea.

  26. the Uso’s/Hart segment was good i think the main issue with the Uso’s part of the promo though was the writing of it, it didnt have any fluidity to it at all where as Tamina’s part worked alot better plus i really liked her on the mic. It kinda looks like the Uso’s are about to become tag champs this just kinda reminds me of the way MNM debuted. i would love to see Eve v Maryse v Natalya v Tamina at fatal 4-way so that Natalya can win the belt and maybe her and Tamina can fued over it for a while giving the whole uso/hart feud a whole other dimension you kno

  27. I don’t want to see Natalya and Tamina feuding over the Title just yet. Tamina is already being booked to look “dominant.” She and Natalya are doing okay to start things off. Having them fight over the title so soon might be going into overkill.

I don’t mind Maryse. Its her wrestling that sucks. And Eve tries atleast, but her dropkicks aren’t hitting their mark everytime. She also has no character. Id rather see Gail, Jillian, or A. Fox as Champion. Only because they usually are given nothing to do.

  28. “I know I’m in the minority, but the Alicia/Zack segment drove me up the wall”

I was in the high speed lane. haha

“More often than not the people being called ghetto are black and i find it a little upsetting is all”

    But they are Samoans?

The main problem with that Uso’s promo is that it really didn’t do anything but be a bad promo. The twins (can someone give me some names? haha) came across like they didn’t know what the heck they were talking about. They didn’t come across as eloquent or articulate. However, they did come across as if were doing an interview for some hip hop media outlet.. Which kinda conflicts with the famed wrestling demographic (aka Southern, Mid-western areas). And I guess I was hearing another Tamina talk. She sounded screechy and scared. I really hope it was nerves because if it wasn’t, I don’t want to hear her talk again.

  29. i dont know where r they goin to with eve/maryse thingy but i think putting a diva with a male superstar is worthy sometimes…maryse needs to team with randy it will be great…and for the uso brothers…they seemes to be happy with crowd reactions it was funny to watch that but it will be something if used corectly and liek erin said we need some build before we see nattie and tamina fight

  30. I’m about tired of the Eve/Maryse feud too. They need a better heel to put her against. As it is, Tamina, who is a relative newcomer, got a better and genuine heel reaction than Maryse, who has been doing her shtick for months.

  31. Ebmich, again i’m aware of Uso’s heritage not disputing that, so try not to misunderstand me. The point for me is that even though the aren’t black, the whole ghetto mentality, or gimmick implications, don’t sit well with me. So whenever i hear the term being used whether the people it’s in reference to are black or not is irrelevant, The word produces a strong and negative reaction in me.

And you just highlighted why i feel so strongly about this: They didn’t come across as eloquent or articulate. However, they did come across as if were doing an interview for some hip hop media outlet.

Whenever you say someone is ghetto or hood or if they maybe speak a bit of slang, not the overuse of it. people assume that you’re not intelligent and that you’re a part of the hip hop scene, which i also have issues with but that’s another story altogether.

  32. @Ebmich- I want to know what do you mean by saying Gail has been lackluster since she came back? What do you mean exactly? And I don’t want to spark a debate honestly, I just care to know your two cents on that one.

Ill agree she hasent been perfect in the ring since she returned, but who has? Even the top guys screw up on a regular basis. I feel Gail Kim is beautiful, talented and more capable than say..someone like Maryse. Now, I realize Maryse has got a good character and is able to generate heat, however, that’s only because she’s had a lot of time invested in her. Compared to other divas anyway.

I personally feel that Gail Kim would be a better heel as opposed to playing the one size fits all, vanilla babyface character they tend to give to most divas. She could possibly be a better heel than Maryse and even Michelle McCool. I recall her getting some major heat when facing Lita and Stratus. Ofcourse, one could argue it was largely due to the overness of both of those divas. Though I’ll just give her the benefit of the doubt, for now atleast.

  33. damnnnn this hart dynasty/uso fued has been pretty bad ass so far..best thing going on raw right now, giving me a reason to watch.

SICK clothesline from Tamina!!! I see these 6 people giving us some good stuff out of this fued.

  34. Say what you want about the Divas title fead, but a lot of the divas were used last night and with purpose. Even Superstars we get to see another Divas match.

  35. If you look back at most of the Samoans in WWE history…Wild Samoan and the Head shrinkers for example, they are all dumb crazy samoans……in my opinion, thats what they ment when they were just saying they aren’t your typical samoans.

  36. @MachoMadness-I think so too. Most samoan characters in WWE have savage-like qualities attached to them. Sounds like an oxymoron for a wrestling show(aren’t most wrestlers savage like? haha)I know, but take a look at Rikishi as a heel. He was partnered with that other crazy guy, Haku. Was he samoan as well? I don’t know, I just really hated that guy. Umaga was the most recent one from what I remember. Anyway, they all displayed unruly, animal like behavior. Like they had no self control almost.

Umaga for instance, reminded me of Bane from the Batman and Robin movie. They tell him to destroy someone, and off he goes like an animal to attack and destroy. I realize Festus had that type of character as well, but it seems to follow the Samoans in particular.

  37. I personally feel that the Usos did pretty well. They had a purpose and whether or not they came across as “ghetto”, i think they achieved it. They generated a lot of heat for their characters, which is more than i can say for many heels. They weren’t eloquant by any means but they got people to hate them. I’m curious to see where this fued goes.

I thought the Eve/Maryse angle was one of the best parts of the night. But that was b/c Santino is such a loveable character. They were definitely overshadowed by their partners last night. Finally Alicia is getting her moment to shine. It’s great to see her come out of the background.

  38. Stop complaining about everything..

What is the big deal with Alicia?? sure i like her but she is not that cool,
the most important thing she has done for me is the feud with mickie
besides that i think Jillian, Gail and Maryse are more Champ material..
everytime Alicia is in the ring she is flying all over the place like looking like a freakin giraffe with those skinny legs trying to stand up every moment..

And stop makeing little drafts over nowhere; Gail is not going to SD, neither Alicia or anyone else.. the draft was like 2 months ago.. we should WAIT LONGER..

    The Maryse/Eve Feud..
1st of all, the reason for Eve to have the is because a title reign of 4 months would be so boring, so WWE gave the title to Eve, so Maryse can seek the title, and then when she becomes 3 TIMES DIVAS CHAMP.. tiiiiiin tiiiin ruaaaa (melina’s theme)
melina is coming back and then WWE would have the feud that was planned since JANUARY!..

as for Tamina; she is there to make a balance with Natalya; They both are more Vallet-3rd Team Member; SO THEY ARE NOT ANYWAY NEAR TO GET THE TITLE..

SD; WWE ALREADY SAID THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW DIVA
    NEW DIVA
NEW.. lets see.. new; having no previous example or precedent or parallel
so IS NOT A RAW DIVA.. ok?
is a new diva they are going to sign..

  39. “The Maryse/Eve Feud..
1st of all, the reason for Eve to have the is because a title reign of 4 months would be so boring, so WWE gave the title to Eve, so Maryse can seek the title, and then when she becomes 3 TIMES DIVAS CHAMP.. tiiiiiin tiiiin ruaaaa (melina’s theme)
melina is coming back and then WWE would have the feud that was planned since JANUARY!..”

I think those are good points. The Eve-Maryse angle started almost three months ago and is still going. It would have been impossible for them to feud that long without Maryse losing the title. I also expect Maryse to regain the title around the time Melina gets the okay to return.

  40. What a match that mixed tag match was. We had latina and an italian vs. a french woman and a brit with a russian at ringside. i found that interesting. But as for the actual match…it was a’ight. It wasn’t all that.

  41. @ gmosoto- Who was complaining? The comment section is meant for people to voice their opinions. You can agree or disagree with them, but there is no need to be like that.

  42. @Gmosoto- A little less caffeine buddy. Aren’t we here to trade thoughts and exchange ideas? Is that not also the purpose of this site? The draft happened months ago but since when does that mean anything in WWE? They’ve got plenty of superstars making “special appearances” on opposite shows ..its constant, so a diva trade wouldn’t be too far fetched really.

Also so what if Alicia bounces all over the ring? Its more than I can say for Maryse’es flopping around like a fish after taking one move. Alicia can atleast get through a match. Did you happen to see Over The Limit? Sad excuse for a match..

  43. @gmosoto, and you did the same exact thing.

    Maryse looked hot last night.
    Eve botch more than anybody.

If Alicia does get release, I would be so pissed
at WWE. Alicia is a great wrestler, seller, and she
    have chemistry.

I think she did great last night. The crowd was dead
because the “the hit” played out for so long and the fact
that Ryder guy is bad. I hope they have Alicia and Edge back
together they was somewhat together last night.

Uso’s brothers are not ghetto but they are kind of
thuggish. But they are so great so I dont care

  44. I agree, but disagree with one thing — The mix tag team match.

I missed the days where the divas would feud and the superstars would feud and then they’d bring the two feuds together in a mix tag match. It makes sense to do that. Like back in the day when Lita was feuding with Trish and The Rock with Triple H and they had a mix tag match one night to bring them together. I love seeing two people who aren’t on teams to team up for one night. That they did right.

What they did wrong was use that as means to turn Kozlov to a face. That match was completely pointless because the divas were in the right for a few seconds. While I commend them for forming a mix tag team with four people who aren’t on tag teams, I hate how they did it. Pointless. Even the Santino talk before was stupid. I love Santino, I’d have his babies even..but that was beyond the definition of ‘stupid’. Next time you want to form a mix tag match, bring have it R-Truth and Eve vs Maryse and whomever R -Truth is feuding with. That would make more sense. That way we could get an actual match out of it and it’s a fresh way to handle their feud.

Speaking of the Maryse/Eve Feud. I agree. It has become stale. I wonder who’s writing this because they’re doing a terrible job (and I’m not one to openly say that) Not that i could do better but, –oh? Is …that a light bulb over my head? I think it is: instead of carrying on week after week with Eve vs Maryse because they’re feuding, they do something different. They could have a triple threat match (how long has it been since we’ve seen this in a diva’s match) for the No. 1 contender for the title and someone other than Maryse wins (Gail, Jillian, Bella(s) anyone other than Maryse). Then they could stop that whole ‘hold the no. 1 contender’s spot for weeks til the PPV bit’ and have that person face off against Eve that following Monday (she’s only defended her title once since she got it? That ain’t cute) — this is a great, fresh way to continue the Eve/Maryse feud because Maryse could come out and interfere and either get that person DQ’d because she attacked Eve openly or fail to have Eve lose because she either accidentally hit the other person when going for Eve or she hit Eve but when the person went for a pi, Eve rolled them up in a schoolboy.

That way they can carry on the feud without have to have the same exact match each and every week. There is so much they could do with this feud but it’s like the person writing it isn’t even trying anymore.

I saw the jitters in Tamina’s speech. But I love this feud. I’m hoping for weeks of outside the ring brawling and 6-person tag matches before a 1 on 1 match later on. I love it when valets feud and argue/fight outside the ring. Those are exciting. But her tag team were over the top! I also love how they didn’t show that guy slip when they did the clip from last week.

And I have a slight — SLIGHT crush on David Hart…..I don’t know where it came from, but…it’s there….

  45. RangerDeon…summer love perhaps? I don’t know about that lol..

I like the idea of having a triple threat. It won’t be longer than 3 minutes anyway. They could have Nikki vs. Maryse vs. Gail Kim with Eve at commentary. Brie could be at ringside as well and at some point do the switch they’re known for. Maryse tried to cheat, Gail Kim takes her out and Brie gets her on the outside. Gail Kim pulled from behind with a surprise roll up by Nikki.

The following week they could have Maryse apologize to the Bellas and suggest they should work together against Eve. Because Eve is not “Championship material” and whatnot. Have them form an alliance to take out Eve.

So later that night its Eve vs. Nikki for the title with Maryse and Brie at ringside. Maryse becomes overzealous with her assistance causing a DQ for Nikki. Somehow they blame it on Eve and attack her. This brings out Gail Kim and Jillian Hall to even the odds.

Next week you’ve got a 6 woman tag match set up.

The next Monday this is followed by a divas battle royale to determine a new 1 contender for the ppv. Winner- Maryse with the help of the Bellas.

At the PPV- it will be Maryse vs. Eve in a no DQ match. The stipulation is really to have the Bellas help secure the win for Maryse.

  46. i thought you were a bit harsh on the tag match, santino/william got the crowd involed way more than they would have been if it was just eve/maryse.

alicia could’ve hit that sissors kick better but it was ok

  47. The Eve and Maryse mixed tag match was pretty bland yet Eve is alright Nothing to say much about Maryse, she shouldn’t even be a contender for the Divas title anymore. She has personality though but little to ZERO wrestling skills. I like her a lot when she wrestled in mid 2008 but now she’s whatever. Nice, shiny, ruby attire she wore by the way.

Alicia Fox looked like a hot mess last night and didnt sold the axe kick that well.

Aston Kucther as Raw Host ehhh not a fan of him but loved his Dude Where’s MY Car movie.

And Tamina IMPRESSED me when she gave NAttie a stiff clothsline. I hope to see great chemistry from these two. Finally Nattie is wrestling again :)

  48. oh may G-O-D i saw that with the red hat and the pale blue shirt at the new orleans raw house show. he got his signs torn up by maryse and wade barret and his hat thrown by edge. its a small world

  49. God… as hot as Ryder is, his promos are absolute SHIT. He would have completely failed if Alicia wasn’t a part of all this. And I pray to God that the Usos’ mic skills improve because Tamina pretty much saved them from looking like fools.

    Notice a pattern here?

PS, my jaw literally dropped when I saw that sick clothesline Tamina hit on Natalya. Same goes for Alicia scissorkicking the fuck out of Ryder.

  50. @Alex,

I think that man is CRAZY.
Every other show hes there. He
