Today’s Impact Write-Up is brought to you with a heavy heart and a rather somber approach. Last night, my precious kitty, Tygrr, succumbed to the afterlife after a very brave fight. She wasn’t but six weeks, but I was attached, and sadly she’s no longer with me. As sad as I am about her passing, it’s a relief to not have to watch her suffer any longer. This Write-Up is dedicated to my little baby and like the great Freddy Mercury once sang, “The show must go on.”
It did go on last night and in a big way, no pun intended of course. TNA saw the debut of a new Knockout; one who’s hiring was rather controversial in the first place. Rosie Lottalove made her first televised appearance against the number one contender to the Knockouts Championship, Roxxi. I’m pretty sure none of us looked at this match on paper (or computer screen) and expected an instant classic. Personally, I can’t believe someone who brutally injured another Knockout got a job but it is what it is (still my favorite saying). Rosie was the first woman to make her way to the ring and good lord. Words don’t even begin to do her outfit justice so I’m not even going to try. She’s certainly got a sparkling personality. I love the way she was announced too.
Instead of focusing on Rosie’s ring entrance, TNA showed their class by highlighting Rosie’s tryout match against Daffney. You can bet that alone is going to make my “Ugly” section because a lot of rude things are coming to mind right now. Maybe I’ll calm down before I get to the ranting part of this column. Nonetheless, the video package gives Taz the opportunity to put Rosie over by saying Daffney is now on the injured reserved list and that’s why we haven’t seen her in quite some time.
Question: Taz, why haven’t we seen ODB and Hamada in “quite some time”?
If you ever read the Write-Up out loud and like a promo, you should totally do a cheeky little grin after questioning Taz. I’m just sayin’. After TNA concludes their exploitation of Daffney’s misfortune, we’re treated to a shot of Rosie’s backside while she enters the ring in Beautiful People fashion. Taz makes the usual fat jokes, which are stupid and predictable but he’s a man so we let it slide, and the camera pans around the crowd. People seem slightly horrified/shocked/intrigued by this new girl. With Rosie’s introduction finally finished, Roxxi’s generic theme song hits and she makes her way to the ring. She’s in the disgusting brown outfit again which is more distracting to me than Rosie’s ridiculous blue eyeshadow and bright red lipstick. Roxxi does her thing and once the bell rings, a chant for the popular Knockout begins. The “Roxxi” chant eventually breaks into something else, which I can’t really distinguish, and both women begin to circle one another.
Roxxi is the first one to try and control the match. She grabs Rosie in a headlock but this basically does nothing. Roxxi ends up against the ropes but when she tries to fly at Rosie, she’s the one who ends up on the ground. Roxxi gets back up but Rosie just slaps her down again. It’s kind of sad, really. Rosie follows that up by body slamming Roxxi down and she’s hurting. Rosie whips Roxxi into the corner and begins playing to the crowd. She flips her hair, slaps her butt, and gets ready to run at Roxxi. I’m sure Roxxi sees her life flash before her eyes and that gives her all the motivation she needs to move the heck out of the way. Rosie slams into the turnbuckle back first and Roxxi begins hitting her opponent in the face. Roxxi is still unable to knock Rosie off her vertical base so Roxxi tries for a dropkick. That’s a big epic fail as well, but at least the giant is stumbling around now.
Roxxi goes to bounce off the ropes but out of nowhere, Madison Rayne pops up, and nails Roxxi in the back with the Knockouts Championship belt. She starts screaming at Rosie to “get her” but Rosie looks a bit befuddled. She starts screaming at Madison Rayne, clearly confused as to what’s going on, but finally she turns around and goes to kill Roxxi… Daffney style. Roxxi is pretty savvy and she quickly rolls Rosie into a small package. The one… two… three is counted and Roxxi has pulled off the win. Madison climbs into the ring and looks like a small child next to Rosie might I add. But size doesn’t matter to the champion and she begins berating Rosie for not utilizing the opportunity to win that Madison handed her on a silver platter. Madison is reading Rosie the riot act and starts slamming her finger into Rosie’s chest. Finally the new girl has had enough and she picks up Madison and lays her out with a choke slam.
Rosie walks up the ramp where Jeremy Borash is waiting for her. He wants to know what’s going on and why she laid out the TNA Knockouts Champion. Rosie is pissed and says that the Beautiful People like to walk out there and talk about how they’re going to rid TNA of one ugly person at a time. Rosie says that she’s big, she’s bad, and she’s certainly beautiful. As if her words weren’t enough, she has to jiggle her boobs as well which gets a reaction from the crowd that I’m sure she was going for. She declares that she’s going to take out every single one of the Beautiful People because she’s a whole lot of Rosie.
And then she kisses Jeremy Borash. That was certainly special.
Switching gears to the Weekly Chelsea Watch, Chelsea accompanied Abyss to the ring this week as he took place in the most random tag team match ever.
skip ahead to 1:26
Abyss and “The Freak” Rob Terry teamed up to take on Orlando Jordan and Desmond Wolfe. At one point during the match, Orlando Jordan was tossed out of the ring and onto the floor, where he started to notice Chelsea. I’m sure we’ll agree that Chelsea isn’t Jordan’s type but he checks her out anyway and starts to touch her. Chelsea fires back with a nice looking slap and Desmond asserts himself into the equation demanding to know why Jordan decided to touch his woman. He then turns to Chelsea and questions why she decided to slap his partner. Then Desmond just gets confused and can’t figure who Orlando is actually interested in; him or Chelsea. It was kind of funny and Abyss and Terry end up winning.
The Good: Well the match itself wasn’t horrible. We didn’t really see enough of Rosie’s in-ring skills to judge her tonight. I don’t expect her to be technical or anything because she is a bigger girl. Bigger wrestlers have the size advantage and they can get away with simple moves such as suplexes, splashes, ect. Roxxi did well with what she had to work with. She bumped very well for Rosie and I don’t think the roll-up hurt this match at all. I find it hard to believe that Rosie couldn’t kick out, but how else would Roxxi get the pin? I don’t know how else they could have worked the match and I’m alright with what went down. It could have been better, but it could have been trainwreck. Honestly, I was expecting the latter so I was surprised.
Rosie was really good on the mic and like Kristin said on her show a few weeks ago, Rosie has a lot of charisma. I agree with that and Rosie definitely played her character well. Her little interview with Borash at the end was fun and the kiss at the end was great. I loved Taz saying the JB finally got lucky. I wouldn’t mind seeing more Rosie/JB interaction. It would certainly be different and kind of comical. I’m all for humor and TNA needs to inject some more life into it’s programming. If Lacey can get turned on by a midget, then Rosie can chase JB. Maybe she can take his virginity? Ha!
I enjoyed Madison’s interference as well. She did what a heel champ should do. She tried to screw her opponent over and mess with her head, but it backfired. I love that Madison is trying to act like the Queen Bee now and she looked great reading Rosie the riot act. Why wouldn’t the champ get in the new girl’s face? To Madison, Rosie is at the bottom of the TNA Knockout pecking order. She’s had one match, lost it despite the win being handed to her, and lets be honest. Madison probably doesn’t see Rosie as someone worthy of her time. But wasn’t it great to see Rosie correct Madison real quick? That modified chokeslam looked devastating and I have a feeling Rosie is going to be pushed pretty heavily. Getting one up on the champion the night of your debut is a pretty good intro into the company if you want my opinion.
The Bad: The Chelsea angle continues to be bad but at least it was injected with a little humor tonight. I’m glad Desmond stood up for Chelsea this week, but then he scolded her. It was funny to me because he was so confused at what was going on. I feel bad that he had to team with Orlando Jordan. So lets just leave it at that.
The Ugly: I’m still pretty furious that TNA decided to show Rosie injuring Daffney. It was just a tacky thing to do and it still baffles me that they hired Rosie after that. I know that’s unfair of me to say and yes, I am a Daffney fan. Maybe I’m not the best person to write about that. I guess I’m just confused that TNA felt like they needed to hire someone else when ODB and Hamada are sitting there doing nothing. We’ve only recently gotten a chance to see Taylor Wilde and Sarita again. If Rosie comes in and gets a push like I’m expecting her too, then chances of seeing other Knockouts are slim to none.
I don’t have anything personal against Rosie. I like that TNA is going outside the box and hiring people who aren’t skinny, blonde models. She seems to be someone who is good at comedy and I really do look forward to seeing her as the weeks progress. Only time will tell on how she fits into the picture, but I’ll make the prediction that after Slammiversary, we’ll be seeing Rosie getting pushed as the number one contender and Beautiful People fighter should Madison retain the championship, which I feel is a lock.
Overall, this wasn’t a totally horrible show. I stopped expecting TNA to do brilliant things. They seem content with dabbling in mediocrity so while they do that, they’ll continue to get mediocre reviews. Until next time my friends.

Isn’t Hamada, next to Sarita, the most expensive Knockout to use? And ODB learned the hard way why you don’t blab your negative feelings about your company to the internet. lol
Like I said in the other post, I think Rosie did fine for what she did. You can tell her character is about having fun and loving who you are… And she doesn’t look like a conventional female wrestler to say the least. Which I think really helps her character. Her wrestling style is gonna make a lot of people think she is bad because she doesn’t use flippy flips or unneeded high spots.
However, I don’t think the segment went over well. Why did they have Roxxi face her? Bland vs brand new doesn’t go over well. It would’ve been better if one of the Beautiful People, prolly Velvet, faced her and made fun of her weight.. Only to squashed at the end. haha I am telling you, I want to see Lacey and Rosie team up. I think they would be awesome. haha
God, Injuries happen. I wish people will lay off of Betsy because of this. People with way more years of experience do this. If I had to start a list on people who have the blame on some injuries I wouldn’t get out of my computer for several hours. Besides you can’t be sure that Betsy is the only culprit. What if Daffney wasn’t at the right position? What if Daffney wasn’t 100% and that make this condition worst?
I’m also a fan of Daffney, but I disagree in blaming Betsy like this. And even if the blame was only hers, people should get over it anyways. Daffney isn’t mad and Daffney is the only one who has the right to be mad.
It’s only my opinion and I stand by it.
Well, I am glad they are giving people who just want the tv exposure a chance to wrestle. Rosie looks like she wants to make the best of her opportunity. Heck, she looks like she lost a little weight since that Daff match.
Isn’t next week suppose to be Rosie and Roxxi vs the Beautiful People? That should be a fun match.
lol desmond wolf-”i don’t know if he likes you, or if he likes me, but you shouldn’t be slappin him”
i think Rosie made a good debute, her mic skill was good and i think her character seems like one fans could get behind easily, they need to tone down the outfit tho to avoid wardrobe malfunctions.
showing daffney’s injury was a dumb move and did her no favors, she’s meant to be a face and they tell the crowd one of the popular KO’s was put out of action by her. it’s probably the reason she didn’t seem to get any fan reaction till she chokslammed madison (it wasn’t much but as she approached JB i heard some rosie chants)
where did madison come from, she just seemed to pop out of no where,
I’m so sorry to hear about your cat, Cryssi. I’m allergic to cats myself but i still love ‘em either way lol, let’s pray she is at peace now :)
Moving to the show, I think they could’ve toned down Rosie’s outfit more, I can already hear the fat jokes circulating which is realy dissapointing. :(
Wild Snorlax chants!!! lmfao I love the TNA crowd sometimes, this would be one of those times. xP
i do think it’s realy unfair to pre-judge somebody based on a single incident. as i said back when she was hired by tna, daffney herself recently tore angelina’s bicep – does that mean she should get fired by tna? of course not. hell, beth phoenix went as far as injuring herself recently, does that mean she’s rubbish? no. and of course there’s the recent undertaker injuries.. if daffney doesn’t hold a grudge, why should a fan?
“I want to see Lacey and Rosie team up. I think they would be awesome. haha”
i really like that. at the same time, she seems really versatile in possible tag line-us. i can see her also fitting in well with odb or roxxi as a partner, even daffney. but yeah.. if lacey felt bad for puppet, surely she’ll eventuall feel bad for rosie (if they do go the route of “bullying” her)
i think it was an okay week. good debut, shame about the match length, but the introduction of rosie and the continuation with the roxxi/madison thing is more important, i guess.
so sorry about tygrr, lfe’s not fair
Kaledrina summed up the injury-thing perfectly. Accidents happen. And I don’t think
showing Daffney’s injury was tacky at all, they do it ALL the time in wrestling. It immediately gives Rosie some validity as a wrestler, and I’m sure Daffney isn’t at home watching with a box of tissues crying that they decided to show it. They know that it wasn’t THAT serious in the end (isn’t Daffney already cleared to return?) so I see no problem at all with them showing it. Heck, when Candice was injured they replayed the injury about 10 times, and that was still when she had potentially could have broken her neck. I didn’t even think that was tacky, because it shows the seriousness of wrestling; people get injured all the time, it’s a risky business.
Also, Orlando Jordan is bisexual, so why wouldn’t Chelsea be his type? Not into brunnette’s?
Firstly, Cryssi, condolences for your loss. I am sure Tygrr brought alot of joy into your life. I know all about growing attatched to pets. They are living, breathing, beautiful creatures that love us no matter how much we mess up in life. My thoughts are with you. As for Impact, I have to say that for the first time in a long time, TNA was actually fun. Like I said in Snap Judgement, I really love this Rosies character. The match in itself was meh, but there was alot going on around it to enjoy.
Good Job Cryssi
But If I here one more smack about Daffney’s Injury, I’m going to rip my eyes out.
Good review. I’m on the verge of quitting on TNA. They’re starting to suck big time, and the Divas seem to be rising! That’s nuts!! Well, Rosie caught my attention, which is good. And I like her fluidity in the ring, hell! I just like HER! Hehe. I liked Impact somewhat, but they continue to disappoint. :/
Wow, Rosie is probably bigger than Kong, but it’s nice to see that someone as big as her can be dominated & beaten by Roxxi, because Kong vs Knockout opponent matches were kinda predictable, Kong dominates then Knockout hits roll up!!
”The Ugly: I’m still pretty furious that TNA decided to show Rosie injuring Roxxi”. Sorry, hate to be a nerd but you made a mistake, it should be Daffney, again, srry.
You’re right. I’ll go and fix that. I don’t always catch my typos after proof reading. Thanks for pointing it out or else I never would have seen it.
Aww…I’m so sorry to hear about your cat Cryssi!
First of all, I’m kinda loving Rosie! Her personality won me over last night, and this is comming from a huge Daffney fan! The blue eyeshadow is a bit too Mimi for the Drew Carey show for me, but her post match promo actually made me yell “work it bitch!” at my computer screen, lol.
On the other hand, shame on TNA for showing Daffney’s injury. Injuries and accidents can happen, but it insults/exploits both women to show that on TV. Daffney could have been seriously injured and certainly experienced one of the scariest moments of her career that night. I’m sure it was also difficult for Rosie to know that she may have accidentally and unintentionally injured her opponent. It was a pretty classless move on the part of TNA, if you ask me.
First of all I am sorry to hear about your kitty, Tygrr. But the only thing is why is it okay to be making fat jokes to Rosie Lattalove even if Tazz is a man, you shouldn’t let it slide. And I know that Rosie isn’t at the bottom of the Knockouts because she has already passed Ms. Chestmister (I don’t know how to spell her name, Brooke Adams) and Chelsea but she’s right under Christy Hemme until she wins a couple of matches.
I agree with pretty much everything in the post, except for one thing…Chelseas slap was fucking weak…I know she’s not a wrestler, but even models know how to slap people…
on a side note, i’m not a huge fan of the abyss/chelsea angle…in my opinion, an angle like that has only pulled off effectively once…The Brian Pillman/Marlena/Goldust angle was amazing…And it was amazing because Goldust was always trying to get Marlena back…Why am I supposed to care about Desmond losing Chelsea if Desmond is just going to stand there and let Abyss have her? And, what exactly are Chelseas ‘services’ (aside from the ability to stand upright)?
Once again, good review of the show. I wouldn’t make a big issue over the injury though, on the blame game that is. Injuries happen as previously pointed out. I like her character(Rosie), she certainly made a statement. I don’t want to see her in a thong though. I think she’s quite cute and refreshing to watch. She’s no Awesome Kong, but she’s got her own magnetic qualities. Roxxi needs some new ring attire btw, it seems as though she’s going for a “Diva” look or something.
Sorry guys, gotta agree with Cryssi on this one. I am just not impressed with Rosie, her gimmick is awful and just as annoying as odb, who I also don’t like. Wasn’t impressed at all with her match against Roxxi. She is just a waste of airtime, the only reason why Tna hired her is because she’s cheap and you know it. She lives in Florida and went to the Team 3D school. It’s also the same reason why Roxxi is getting pushed. Don’t get wrong, I think she is a decent wrestler, but in reality if she had Sarita’s or Hamada’s paycheck, Tna would use her as little as possible or even just release her.
The show wasn’t awful, but it was pretty bad. I just don’t like the style of anything in TNA, there always seems to be too much going on, I guess that’d because there is so much talent for one brand.
Onto the Knockouts though, the segment was too short and left Roxxi looking cheap in order to give Rosie the best loss possible. To me, they should have waited to debut her as so far, Roxxi is a challenger to the belt with a roll-up win to her name, a win over an extremely weak and poorly booked champion (who was left looking really weak again this week) and she has been has had no mic time (if she had some, I haven’t seen it.) She has no personality at all right now, they need to make her do something drastic for TBP to really despise her.
Sorry about your cat aswell Cryssi, such a cool name for it aswell!
I loved this segment! Rosie is one of my favorite knockouts at the moment. Sure she injured Daffney but she’s a fresh new face on television. Sometimes we need some fresh meat. Perhaps Rosie and Lacey will end up a tag team. That’d be fun. :D
I hope I’m Dead Wrong on the following: I have a gut feeling that TNA Creative will team up Rosie LottaLove and Angelina Love dub them as The Love Machine to go against The Beautiful People for the Knockout’s Tag Team Titles. Again I don’t want to see the above mentioned storyline to ever come into fruition but knowing the Crack-Headed, Stupid, Booking Style of TNA Creative (Vince Russo) I could definately see this happening.
This Angle would work better if it had a Tommy Dreamer/Raven slant and if Rosie was a childhood friend of let’s say Madison or Velvet that they tormented in Grade School
and she never forgot it…and let’s just say “Payback is a Bitch”
TNA entrance themes are so generic, Rosie’s theme doesn’t fit with her character at all, it’s just generic rock entrance theme number 156
two words! bertha faye!
where is maryse to teach this girl how to do a hair flip from 2:14 to 2:16
I can’t believe it but I agree with embich’s statements in this. And I also agree with Ana_Nattie_Rules and Kaledrina. I like Rosie’s moxie. That girl came out there KNOWING she was looking good and she worked it! (No, no, no to the blue eyeshadow, though – For some reason, with that makeup she makes me think of Peg from Married With Children. :P ) I also think that it was good that they showed that she “injured” Daffney rather than acting like nothing happened or making up something (Awesome Kong/Hamada/tag titles), which people commonly complain about. It also helps to establish a basis for a possible fued with Daffney (who I hope does not become a face), should they decide to go that route. Daffney’s my girl, but I’d love to see them go at it. .
Something I HATE is when people jump on whatever they desperately can to ridicule and make themselves feel better. I’m sure the IWC is ripe with such comments about “Rosie” but I don’t feel the same. She’s really pretty. The match wasn’t anything special but I liked the overall segment. I have yet to see anything particularly impressive about Rosie’s in-ring skills, though, including other videos of her I’ve seen as Betsey.
Usually I don’t find Madison Rayne attractive but she was looking really pretty here, if superfluous in her presence.
She’s definitely a good addition to the roster. I think she could’ve done better. She looked a bit awkward in the ring especially during the earlier parts of the match when she repeatedly crashed against Roxxi. I think it wasn’t as convincing making it unbelievable as to why Roxxi would fall down instead of staggering backwards. Either way, she’s not that bad–certainly better than the debut matches of other knockouts.
On a less important note, I really think she looks beautiful.
I love that TNA employs “big girls” like Kong, Moose, and Rosie. Rosie definitely stands out in more ways than one, and I think she can become a crowd favorite in due time. Her character stands for a great message. Plus I think she’s a very beautiful curvy girl, and it’s just not something that you see in women’s wrestling.
But yes, where IS ODB and Hamada?
“o me, they should have waited to debut her as so far, Roxxi is a challenger to the belt with a roll-up win to her name, a win over an extremely weak and poorly booked champion (who was left looking really weak again this week) and she has been has had no mic time (if she had some, I haven’t seen it.)”
- Rosie is a big girl. Roxxi threw all kinds of blows at her and didn’t knock her down. So, why not a quick roll up? Roxxi had acting skills, I am sure she would’ve acted happy just to get out there in a non-flatten state. There was a time when the actual look of a wrestler was important..
- Madison beating Tara fair and square didn’t count? I thought Madison was suppose to get some mythical rub off of that.
- She got mic time last week. If you haven’t seen it, thank considered yourself lucky.
I loved this write-up Cryssi, it’s so true that what’s going on here, TNA introducing more to the litter when they can barely look out for their own as it is. As much as I hate the whole thing behind Rosie’s gimmick (TNA trying to get a cheap laugh by parading a fuller framed woman in lingerie) I do like the way Rosie herself comes across, she seems like she’s proud of who she is and not just a walking skit character like it seems TNA have tried to write her down as. She did look awkward in the match, plus she does the compulsory powerhouse giant moves, rather than show much skill but the thing is we’ve seen before the best Knockouts and Divas aren’t always that wrestle the best *cough* Maryse *cough* I like the fact that they managed to put Rosie and Roxxi over in the match too, going with Roxxi winning rather than Rosie. I’d tell costume to tone down on the make-up a bit and also to give Roxxi a new outfit once in a while, but apart from that it was reasonably good. I feel the feud with Roxxi and Madison is a bit quiet though, but I think that’s more to do with the fact Roxxi and Rosie haven’t interracted anywhere but the ring, it’d been good and less random to have put Madison on commentary so she could show she has some charisma and strength behind her, as well as up her status in TBP and keep things going with Roxxi.
I Think The Match Was Really Slow I Mean When Rosie Went To Hit Her In The Bottom Turnbuckle Roxxie Moved To Fast And It Looked Sloppy…..But The Chokeslam To Madison Was Really Good And Well Played…..
I Must Say Though Im Loving Rosie Personality She Has Excellent Mic Skills….
Cant Wait To See More Of Her :D
Rewatching it again muted, the match actually plays a lot better for me but I hope to see more from her in the future. I love Rosie’s swagger. JB’s what-just-happened face was so funny. Get it, Rosie! :P
My favourite part of the night was Desmond Wolfe’s confusion. ‘I don’t know if it’s YOU or ME he’s interested in…’ Classic. All I know is now whenever Rosie comes to the ring, I’m gonna wanna sing Mika ‘Big Girl You Are Beautiful’
I wish wrestling peeps would stop making openly gay (or bisexual) characters the type to make other wrestlers feel uncomfortable around them. I’m glad that they’re included but I’m sick of seeing the same thing over and over again (Billy and Chuck, Rico, now him) they all did the same thing.
