As witnessed just moments ago at TNA’s Slammiversary pay per view, Roxxi is done with the company after losing an impromptu ‘Title vs Career’ match against Madison Rayne. However, it seems there is a bigger story behind this shock departure.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer writes:
I had heard earlier that there was a ton of backstage heat over a last minute angle change that involved Roxxi, so apparently she showed up and found out she was done with the company. Roxxi was in tears when it was over, but they cut away so fast to show a video for the next match that it didn’t really mean anything on the show.
We often scold TNA for their shitty booking but that is beyond shitty — totally tactless. Poor Roxxi.

Ebmich: Seriously? I’m getting from your comments that she either deserved this or she shouldn’t have been surprised at this. Either way, you’re wrong. She wanted to work for them. She healed up from her ankle injury and came back to work for them.
Today she gets told abruptly that’s no longer needed, just hours away from a match. As far as we know, no reason given, no excuses, just “you’re done.” You don’t think that’s unethical? They may not have to give notices but there’s such a thing as decency & doing things the right way. Dropping a bombshell like this hours before a PPV live match is NOT the right way.
And how do YOU know that a lot of people DIDN’T buy the PPV just to see her? Or tune in JUST to see her? You don’t know crap about how much she drew. It may be infront of a pretty consistent audience but Roxxi was VERY over with the crowd all the time. She hadn’t faded away – she was in a high profile feud for the belt, she had a win over Rayne a few weeks ago and a title shot tonight. You call that fading away?
Bottom line, she didn’t deserve this treatment. She’s a human being for God’s sake and there are better ways of handling something like this. They wanted to get rid of her, there were other, better, more decent ways of doing it. And shame on you if you can’t see that.
She was brought back on a pay-per-appearance deal, primarily to fill in the gap that the Tara/Daffney/Angelina left. So we knew that she would be gone again sooner or later, but i dont think anyone could’ve forseen that she would leave this soon already, Roxxi included.
But in this stage i’m no longer surprised. I kinda gave up on TNA halfway 2009 and unless Scott d’Amore & Dutch Mantell return with the creative freedom to completely rebuild the knockout division from scratch i dont see anything change in the future. People who still have hope that things will get better should watch some old WCW footage on what Bischoff did to the women’s division there. He even publicly mentioned he doesnt care about women’s wrestling in the past.
TNA has never been the same promotion since Gail Kim walked on them, and they never will be. The faster Dixie Cater, Hulk Hogan and all those failures get put out of business the better I am going to like it. TNA Wrestling … what a joke, and unfortunately NO ONE is laughing.

And I’m not really as outraged since I don’t watch TNA that often, but this kind of thing doesn’t surprise me. People assume to know what’s going on backstage, with creative and executives and such, so if we take what we *think* we know about Bischoff, Hogan, McMahon, etc… we shouldn’t be surprised when something like this (no matter how heinous it is and how indignant people get) happens. Well, I won’t lump everybody together–I’m not surprised.
Ok people moan about how bad wwe treats their divas but atleast they have a stable roster. This is horrible what is happening to the Knockouts backstage. Roxxi getting told she is to leave, Awesome Kong being insulted by Bubba and there was Tara’s pay issue.
Im not sure if anyone noticed but when Madison was on the mic Roxxi looked like she was about to breakdown and cry :(
WTF thats so shitty i feel sorry for her.
