Three time Knockouts Champion, ODB has just posted on her Twitter page that she has quit TNA Wrestling. She writes:

thanks tna fans for all the support but tna and odb have parted ways.it was a decision I made.bamm bitches

Yet another blow to a division that has been on a downward spiral of late. Looking at the division of late and the company’s treatment of the Knockouts, it’s not hard to see why ODB wanted out.

  1. Wow. TNA is going downhill, fast.

  2. Whatever happened to that really sweet KO division? Because of all the backassery going on, I’m happy to see ODB split and really, they weren’t using her anyways. But TNA was pretty much the best place to watch mainstream women’s wrestling so it feels a little bit like lose/lose here. ODB was just here in Milwaukee so maybe there’s hope that she’ll show up in SHIMMER?

  3. I saw this coming when she didn’t appear in any television match in a month, oh well there goes another knockout. Odb will be missed

  4. Another big reason for TNA to bring in Mickie, Maria & Katie Lea

  5. No surprise here. Good luck to her. It’s probably in her interest to get on with her life and not be tied to a promotion that hardly ever uses her anymore.

Not sure bringing in more ex-WWE talent is the answer. They have and have had talent. It’s just wasted. Maria doesn’t offer anything they don’t already possess. They’ll probably use Mickie to bury their own people further. Katie Lea? That just could work. Which is one reason she won’t be signed and will be squandered if she is.

  6. She was a 3 Time KO’s Champion.
At least she accomplished a lot.
She now has that title above her name, and them videos and pictures on the internet.
So she will be successful whatever she does in Wrestling.

  7. I remember the first time ODB came to TNA with all the new knockouts. It felt right. Already, I could tell that something was wrong with the bookings and all that with the sudden fatal fourways, Kong being sold as someone COMPLETELY unstoppable, etc… but still, seeing them together and seeing what they could do in the ring, I was hopeful.

I know that a lot of people find ODB unappetizing or maybe her gimmick has gone stale… but I actually think that she’s not that bad. And she was one of those people who made the division interesting.

She is a solid and unique presence in the ring. You rarely find anyone like her in the mainstream. She’s very very good at selling moves. She pulls off her moves very well (though her strikes are not that impressive.) She’s OK.

    I will miss her.

  8. You know, at first I wasn’t a fan of her (in the time of her feud with Tara) but then when she was forgotten by the company I realised how important she was. Her character was funny, hilarious, Anti-Diva and she has more talent than any of the current champions.

She was wise on making this decision. Why should she be stuck on a company that doesn’t use her to her fuel potential? Besides, she only wrestled once a month (or less). That doesn’t give her a lot of payment at all. She’ll probably will make more money now in the indies because she will be free to book herself whenever she wants, without having to miss chances just because she doesn’t know if TNA will book her or not soon.

The Knockouts Division is like having a horrible disease that makes you’re organs die slowly one by one until you finally die. That’s whats happening. Very soon there will be only valets and occasional wrestling matches.

  9. And people say WWE treat their women bad! xD
TNA has really gone downhill i dont even watch it anymore, Sarita and Hamada will leave soon and it will literally just be TBP vs Angelina Love every week!

  10. @V1AHHHH – Please explain how Maria could save the ko division? xD

  11. @xflygurlx16; well she herself won’t, but well known names always help. with mainstream success from Celebrity Apprentice, King of the Cage & her WWE past, she could contribute a little bit. However the bulk of what I meant was Mickie & Katie Lea to help salvage whats left of the dwindling division

  12. Btw, ODB worked in OVW with quite a few WWE names, including the Miz. She has the connections for at least a WWE try out.

  13. Another GREAT knockout leaves TNA. What is going on? I hope Angelina, Sarita & Hamada get out of there too and come over to WWE… Kong, Victoria/Tara and ODB too join too please. Hire the two script-writers (the ones who wrote & pushed all the good knockout storylines) who also recently left TNA too, and we have the recipe for success!!! Vince? Its time to remove the wool from your eyes and realise the potential (for making money at least). Its staring you in the face!!!!!!

  14. I forgot Daffney…. I think she should swap too!!!! :)

  15. “Not sure bringing in more ex-WWE talent is the answer.” – 100% co-sign. In fact, I do not think it is the answer at all. I really liked ODB a lot; her gimmick was continually entertaining for me and I agree that she was an anti-Diva and still had many fans, male and female. There are not a lot of female wrestlers who could both work the ring and amuse me like ODB, and at the present moment I can’t think of anyone else. Where can they go? It would make me sick to see them all in WWE where they don’t care about female wrestlers either (iMo). I wish that there was someone out there waiting in the wings who can finally create a promotion that can let women AND cruiser-weights shine and can just focus on giving us good characters who are wrestlers first and gimmicks second, or that ROH could have a definite women’s division instead of just working with Shimmer. I don’t know. \(>.<)/
