It’s the night of Slammiversary and all through the world, wrestling fans  are waiting, shaking in anticipation. It’s the biggest night for TNA, their anniversary. The granddaddy of them all for the little Orlando company that has kept on chugging for the past eight years. When most ragtime, no name, mediocre companies would have folded, TNA has truly stood the test of time. That speaks volume about their resiliency and their efforts to make their company better…

My God. I sound like a TNA supporter.

Let me start over. Tonight was TNA’s version of Summerslam (since it’s not Wrestlemania apparently), Slammiversary. How the company has managed to survive this long is beyond me, but nonetheless, it’s made it this long and they decided to oblige us Knockout fans with an absolutely scorching hot contest for the Knockouts Championship featuring Madison Rayne, the champ, against the babyface challenger, Roxxi. I would love to sit here and act all excited for the match, but I’m really not. TNA did absolutely nothing to build up this match and this past Thursday on Impact the title match wasn’t even mentioned. The lack of hype for this Knockouts title match has left a lot of fans frigid, including yours truly, and put an immense amount of unfair pressure on Madison and Roxxi to perform. Whether or not they can live up to those expectations remained to be seen. Personally, I didn’t have high hopes. Did you?

As it turns out, I was absolutely right to not have high hopes. What happened tonight was an absolute travesty. It was a miscarriage of justice. It was the biggest crime committed since OJ Simpson walked away a free man thanks to Kim Kardashian’s father (… and some other old guys). Roxxi, as far as we know, is now gone from TNA and it’s total bullshit if you want my honest opinion. I’ve never in my life been more disgusted with a single television program in my entire life. I find it completely laughable that Eric Bischoff went on record this week saying the Knockouts division was a staple of the company. It’s not an absolute farce and I’m ready to give up on it. There’s really nothing else I can say. For those of you who spared yourselves from watching, I commend you. Lets just get on with it.

Roxxi is out first and thank God she is in a new outfit tonight. It’s not that pretty and it’s certainly not that flashy, but it’s not a gross brown color. It’s a nice red ensemble etched with a bit of gold. As Roxxi comes to the ring, the feed cuts to a highlight of Roxxi beating Madison a few weeks ago in a non-title match, which is basically how she earned this chance tonight. After that, Madison walks out solo and she’s dressed in this little pink skirt and a black top. It’s interesting to me that she’s alone, and I respect that. It makes me wonder if the Beautiful People will end up getting involved towards the end. The champ gets into the ring and does her usual thing, while Roxxi stands back and watches, focused on her match and highly unimpressed by Madison’s sexy antics. Madison is looking so confident, totally ready for this match and she hands the title over to the referee who sports a nifty bow-tie. Cool.

Mike Tenay wonders aloud if Roxxi can take the final step tonight and secure her first TNA championship and shockingly, Madison has summoned a ring servant to hand her a microphone. Nice twist. She tells everyone to chill out for a second and that gets her some fantastic heat. Madison claims that she has something important to say and she really wants everyone to listen. Of course, no one wants to listen to her, but that doesn’t really deter the champ from speaking her mind. She turns her focus directly on Roxxi and asks the challenger to explain why the Beautiful People, as a faction, have basically dominated the Knockouts division for the past two years while Roxxi’s TNA tenure has been shaky, to say the least. She reminds everyone that Roxxi has been in and out of TNA several times and while this goes on, the crowd is just eating Madison alive. Madison is annoyed at the disrespect but she starts to bitch that this time Roxxi was basically handed a Knockouts title shot and to be fair, she’s got a point.

The crowd doesn’t agree and they continue to go nuts on Madison. She responds in perfect heel fashion and screams at everyone to shut up. No one listens to her and finally Madison tunes them out and moves on. She complains that tonight she is putting everything on the line and that it’s unfair Roxxi isn’t putting anything up. Madison says she has everything to lose and nothing to gain, whereas Roxxi has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Roxxi looks perplexed by this but things become clear when Madison challenges Roxxi to put her career on the line. Madison taunts the shit out of Roxxi and demands that she give her an answer right now. She even bucks up and gets in Roxxi’s face. Roxxi finally caves but before she can get all the words out, Madison slams her in the head with the microphone and goes for the quick pin. Roxxi kicks out but she’s bleeding profusely thanks to that vicious shot.

Roxxi starts bossing Madison around and takes her down with a double elbow. She goes for a pin but it’s unsuccessful. Roxxi is really covered with blood and it’s so gross. I’m like cringing but Roxxi continues to fight on and climbs on the top rope. Madison does take her down and Roxxi’s face slams into the mat. Blood flies everywhere and Madison once again takes control. She goes for a cover, but only receives a two count because Roxxi isn’t about to give up that easily. Always the popular one, Roxxi has the crowd solidly behind her. They’re chanting her name but Madison continues to overshadow Roxxi. Roxxi is finally able to get some offense in and she slams Madison’s head into the mat. She follows it up by attempting to whip Madison across the ring, into the ropes, but Madison reverses it and they start to exchange arm holds. Roxxi ends up hitting a sweet looking enziguri and she begins to bounce Madison around like a beach ball. She ends up getting the champ down and hits a pretty good impact maneuver. She goes for a pinfall, but Madison fights out of it which sucks for Roxxi. I thought she had the victory! Both women begin to exchange holds again but this is very brief. Roxxi uses her size advantage and scoops Madison up. She nails her with the Voodoo Drop but the momentum sends Madison flying out of the ring. Roxxi isn’t able to capitalize and Madison is allowed to regain her composure on the outside of the ring. Roxxi finally goes to get her and tosses Madison back into the ring. She goes to follow her in, but Madison is coherent enough to kick Roxxi in the face. Roxxi is woozy now and stumbles around, and Madison hits her finisher.

1… 2… 3! Roxxi gets pinned and now her career is apparently over.

Are you freaking kidding me?!

Madison celebrates in the ring as the fans seem shocked by what has transpired. I’m shocked as well. The Roxxi chants begin and Roxxi is led up the ramp. Madison is screaming at Roxxi to get the hell out of the building because she made a deal. This is absolutely horrific. The scene fades out with an image of Madison Rayne checking her hair and make-up in the belt and Roxxi walking dejectedly up the ramp.

Wow. Where do I even begin? Normally this is where I go through the good, the bad, and the ugly, but ohmygod. What’s good about this?!

After taking a moment to collect my bearings I reckon I can say Madison’s promo was good. This is by far the best she’s ever been on the microphone and the amount of heat she was getting was absolutely insane. I feel as if Madison really believed in the words she was saying. It was an amazing acting job by her and you can tell that she’s getting more and more comfortable in her role as the company’s top heel. She exuded confidence and her voice was firm and clear. Tonight, Madison was a woman who knew exactly what she wanted and what she had to do to get it. She played on Roxxi’s sweetness and basically manipulated her into putting her career on the line. Once Madison got what she wanted, she busted Roxxi right in the head with the microphone. The shot was absolutely sick. I still have no clue why this happened or what TNA was thinking by doing this, but I guess Madison fans can take away the fact she’s gotten an even bigger rub. She’s now the TNA Career Killer.

(This whole gimmick is going to end up being the TNA Ratings Killer if they keep it up. That’s just my personal opinion.)

The match itself was good after I got over the initial shock of that grotesque microphone shot Roxxi took. I’ve never really seen a woman bleed quite that much. Why would Roxxi bleed for this company when they basically used her and tossed her out? I realize that Angelina is their top face but why did Roxxi have to be such a victim tonight? As brief and dramatic as the match was, it had some nice moments. Both women showcased some great skills and transitional holds, and they have chemistry together. I honestly thought tonight was going to be a stepping stone for more to come between these two. I guess with Angelina getting cleared to return, and Rosie being on the roster that there wasn’t room for Roxxi and that’s just awful. It’s just a shame that their little match is going to be overshadowed by this controversy but rightfully so. We know TNA is biased towards the Beautiful People and Angelina Love, but they just reached an entirely new low tonight. Roxxi is a woman who has done everything she can for TNA and then some. She came in as a Voodoo Queen. She had her head literally scalped for this company. She’s come back to them time and time again to help out in a pinch, and they continue to treat her like shit. It’s unfortunate and it’s certainly unfair, and I can’t believe this has happened to her in such a shady fashion.

More often than not, us fans get wrapped up in the characters the wrestlers play on television. We hate them. We love them. But sometimes we forget that they’re people. Roxxi is a human being who is trying to make a living doing something she has a passion for. I honestly feel so sorry for her at the moment. This is the type of thing that can make a person question their career choices and rethink their way of living. Roxxi is a really talented individual, with a lot to give wrestling. TNA had no business jerking her around the way they did tonight. I think TNA showed their true colors tonight and this could very well be the final nail in the coffin of the Knockouts division. Those of you who sit there every week and beg for Sarita, Hamada, ODB, and Taylor Wilde to get pushes, just stop. Their push will probably end up in having their career ended by Madison Rayne and none of us want to see that.

The backlash of this is going to be intense and I encourage all of you to feel the way you want to feel. Just keep in mind that none of this is Madison’s fault. Don’t blame her, crucify her, or bash her. She’s just playing a character; like Roxxi. Madison doesn’t write the script, and she certainly doesn’t go around telling management who to hire and fire. (As far as we know, but come on.) I don’t think it’s fair to Madison that she gets some of the blame for this and believe me, there will be people who start to blame her. She’s just a young woman enjoying the push of a lifetime and if I were her, I would absolutely eat it up too. Is it believable that she’s a ‘career killer?’ Absolutely not, but what can we do?

A part of me feels bad that this review is so negative. What else am I supposed to do, though? This has turned into nothing more than a rant and I hate that. I’ve said it so many times in the past that TNA used to be the home of the most amazing womens wrestling on television. But now? Now it’s just depressing to watch. I wish Roxxi all the best, I really do. How can you not sympathize with her? Everyone has to do what they can to make a living, even if it means going back to the company that has screwed you over before.

I don’t know where TNA can go from here with their Knockouts. If I had to guess, then I would assume Angelina is going to come back and immediately challenge for the belt. If not Angelina, then Rosie. TNA seems pretty pleased with both of those women at the moment. I can’t say that I’m looking forward to either potential feud. We’ve seen Angelina and TBP before, and I’m not sold on Rosie at all. That said, I certainly don’t want to see anyone else challenge for the championship because they’ll likely end up in the unemployment line by the time their four week push is up.

Oh TNA. What have you done?

Match Rating: 2**/5*****

Oh, as far as the WCW goes, Chelsea did exactly what I predicted she would do and that was turn on Desmond Wolfe and help Abyss win the Monster’s Ball match. It wasn’t a full turn, but it was enough to signal the end of Desmond and Chelsea, and yes, that makes me sad too.

  1. Bottom line: FUCK TNA!

  2. Great write up Cryssi, though I think I need to see this match to believe it.

Like I said, TNA think they’re being clever with the whole female Randy Orton gimmick, but it’ll just get stale quickly if they keep doing these lame ‘Title vs. Job’ matches, but then gimmick matches are usually the only way TNA can ‘break boundaries’, let’s not forget the Lock Box challenge afterall, which was essentially a worse version of Feast or Fired. It was good they made a comparison of TBP dominating and Roxxi having a shaky career, though if anyone else could respond, they might add that TBP have only dominated thanks to hundereds of thousands of sexually frustrated men from the ages of 18-45 out there.

Also, isn’t Bound for Glory the TNA equivalent to Wrestlemania? Whilst any normal person would think Slammiversary was, I just think they see it as secondary to BFG, if this is suppose to be the WM of TNA, then the build-up is really bad.

  3. Very well written Cryssi, I feel for Roxxi so much and I share your frustration at TNA. I really hope people don’t blame Madison as she is just doing her job, You know what is really sad, Madison is one of my favourite wrestlers and TNA is making it so difficult for me to enjoy her push. I feel so bad for these girls TNA are treating like dirt. Girls who helped build the divison, ODB and Taylor. (as they are the only ones left except for Angelina and Velvet) TNA you had it all, a great and loyal fanbase who respected your women’s division but now, the knouckouts are behind the diva’s and have been for a while.

  4. Madison Rayne’s promo was great, the match was good, but no one will look past that because of what happened tonight.

What TNA did was freaking unbelievable. They don’t have that many knockouts as it is. So what do they do? They fire one of knockouts that has been there from the beginning. It is disgusting. I don’t care what people say about how Roxxi should have known what was going to happen. And all of that. She had to make a living somewhere. She didn’t know TNA was going to pretty much spit in her face.

I have said this once and I will say this again, Hogan and Bishoff are destroying what was once a wonderful knockouts division. And Dixie shouldn’t let two assholes ruin her company. Because lets face it, nothing good has come from the Hogan/Bishoff era. Okay I am done ranting. Bye.

  5. “Those of you who sit there every week and beg for Sarita, Hamada, ODB, and Taylor Wilde to get pushes, just stop. Their push will probably end up in having their career ended by Madison Rayne and none of us want to see that.”

i’m really worried about these women now. hamada and sarita’s contracts are set to expire soon (apparently) and with odb calling herself a diva this past weekend i wouldn’t be surprised to see her forced to retire soon either..

  6. Your right, it is Bound for Glory. Several people have pointed that out to me but I can’t be fucked to fix it. Anniversary shows are just as important – @LookingGlass

  7. Great aritcle Cryssi, although Tna’s Wrestemania is Bound for Glory, not Slammiversary. I can totally feel your anger watching this show because this is exactly how I felt. You have Roxxi bleed for no reason. That was truly not needed at all. It is really sad to see what the knockout division has become. It is just the Beautiful People all the time. Seriously, I understand they are a draw and are popular, but do they really have to give them all the titles. They can still put them on tv and not hold any belts. Madison is a decent wrestler, but Velvet and Lacey are lackluster imo, and like Maryse, they should all just be valets to get people who aren’t over with the crowd over since all three have charisma to help them out.

  8. They’re fucked up by now. They’re trapped in a pile of shit and they have no idea how to get out of there. Sorry for the french, but their womens division is screwed unless they act fast, their men division isn’t that good as well. TNA started like a different federation, something fresh and new, now it’s a cheap copy of WWE, the Knockouts being sluttier Divas.

  9. Oh and to make Roxxi bleed is just plain disgusting, urggh ok rant over, poor Roxxi please don’t go back to TNA you are too good for them girl.

  10. i gotta give credit to roxxi. if it’s true that she only found out an hour or two before the match.. damn, if that was me i’d be torn between screwing up their plans by refusing to wrestle and demanding a nice chunk of money to go out there and get embarrassed.

  11. Roxxi get to the ppv and
    they told her that you’re
fired just like that. tna doesn’t
have any class they’re just tacky
    including Carter. They probably
would never do that to a male talent
but they can easily do it to a woman.

But the knockouts get paid $100-400 dollars,
so are we really suprise this happen to Roxxi?
This is so disrepectful to Roxxi, she did a lot
for tna and they treat her like a pierce of shit.

-ODB is next, she would get fired soon.

    Now they only have
    -Angelina
    -TBP(3)
    -Hamada
    -Taylor
    -Sarita
    and the new girl.

Yep. The knockouts division is dying.
    They still have Sarita,Hamada,Taylor, and
Angelina would can put on great matches
but they only care about TBP.

I won’t say the knockouts division is dead
    yet but its getting there.

Madison vs. Roxxi: The match were pretty good. Madison
    did great on the mic.

  12. X-division is the only reason
why I watch tna right now.

  13. Cryssi is definitely ahead of the curve on this. You can tell that the momentum will, if it already hasn’t mainstream backstage, be turning against the Bischoff regime. It almost seems to have demoralized Hogan too already, the ruthlessness, sycophantic behavior and cutthroat bottom-line actions of Bischoff have another unfortunate victim: the Knockouts. Can you believe Velvet Sky and LVE weren’t even coming in? At all? I know they aren’t going to wrestle a five-star match, but aren’t they at least part of the aura of TBP? What happened with this whole title switch, title reign and “retirement feeding” of Madison Rayne?

It’s definitely smelling of Bischoff, tried and true, doing what he knows best (giving away the best stuff for free, patronizing or ignoring the secondary divisions). Why should it be Rayne here, who I do like as far as an up-and-coming talent ? At the same time, why should she be the John Cena of TNA’s women wrestling? Why all the clean finishes for a heel? A heel in *The Beautiful People*, of all stables? This isn’t exactly a pin them clean and wipe your hands stable, it’s cheating, back-biting, cheesy skits and pomp and circumstance. Bischoff doesn’t care and it shows. Given the proven ratings success of previous incarnations of the TNA women’s division, it is downright criminal for this level of petulant, willful ignorance to continue from the bookers.

Just look at Bischoff’s tweets, I follow him on my own Twitter and break his balls when I can. He mentions more about Obama, wanting to fly home, and “heading out to tape a couple of shows,” passively and non-chalantly. He knows his contract terms, he committed highway robbery in sneaking himself in as part of the Hogan deal that TNA wanted so badly. Now they’re still pulilng a 1.0 with Hogan’s massive bills to pay and a Mother Brain (or lazy has-been version) in Bischoff running the show. What sweet medicine for Vince Russo-haters, at the same time, the real losers are those truly invested in TNA and those wanting change / balance in the U.S. wrestling landscape.

Where was that big shocker tonight? Bless Roxxi, sure, that’s still not it. I was expecting the comments about the show being huge to be true – in effect, that was their last true cry of wolf available.

Just as I called some time ago, the Hogan-centric angles, the Bischoff as heel/face nebulous hybrid of seeming senselessness, the casting couch hires, the bottom-line ruthlessness in interviews and from dirtsheets, it all continues to paint a bad picture. The Bischoff/Hogan era has unequivocably and undeniably failed, by any measure, and now the apples are starting to sour all over the place. Even the card tonight would’ve never needed anyone other than Russo/JB/Tenay/JJ and whatever they had before, it wasn’t ground-breaking, and while a fairly good card it was very predictable.

As for the Knockouts, what more need be said? They’re unfortunate victims in this promotion, as Bischoff and Hogan (cleverly) swooped in and sold TNA a bill of goods, while the actual production creatively has stymied the development of arguably TNA’s best arm, the Knockouts division. The Madison Rayne “Clean Pin, Laugh and Do My Nails” era will be not-so-fondly remembered some time in the future.

    You can bank on it.

  14. What a fucking joke. Why do TNA continue to bring Roxxi back time and time again only to treat her like garbage and throw her away? Why do I continue to follow this company when they constantly spit in my face with shit like this?

    Fuck TNA. Roxxi deserved better.

  15. Great write up. It sucks if what happend to Roxxi is true. Although I’ll lmao if she appears at the TNA tapings talking about a loophole or something as to why she is at TNA.

  16. well I feel for ROXXI and hope she dont go back there again but im not surprized whats happening to KO division when EB is 1 of the people in charge when he was in WWE he tried to do the same to the divas but was unsesceful due to LITA and TRISH as 1 of the greastest fueds and two of the greastest female wrestlers in history and they had help from VICTORIA, MOLLY HOLLY, and others im forgetting. so iagree i think ODB will be next, and HAMADA who would of thought WWE was doing better in the womens division[mostly SD!]

  17. Cryssi, you took the words right out of my mouth.
And the Knockouts Division isn’t dead
It’s just gasping for air and trying to breathe.

But what really made me mad was how they did it. If they had just signed Roxxi to a month-long contract just for this, then I could understand that. But they literally told the poor girl as soon as she came to the building “Hey, You’re done”. It’s sleezy, digusting and very un-professinal. When Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) was released for doing that stint where he choked Justin Roberts that WWE told him to do, I thought “Wow, that’s BS. No release could of been more stupid.” But TNA proved me wrong. There will always be a diffrence between WWE and TNA. While TNA has better wrestling, WWE doesn’t make BS decisions last minute like firing a wrestler that just signed a contract. It’s abosutely amazing to think that TNA once had their Knockouts main-event like Gail Kim vs Awesome Kong. They had 8 minute tag team matches, steel cage matches and hardcore matches. But now we’re afraid that when a in-frequently used Knockout gets pushed, they will be packing up their bags to set sail to the Indies.

God TNA. I don’t even want to watch Impact anymore.

  18. Thanks for the great write-up!

  19. This is the reason why I stopped watching TNA. They act like they care about the division, but it’s all a farce. Once they started hiring a bunch of washed up and bitter old men to run the company, TNA went straight into the gutter.

  20. I hate what this company has become. I used to want them to succeed but now I just want them gone. We still love you Roxxi!

  21. It wouldn’t happen, but it would be beyond cool if wrestling companies would start feeding misinformation to be spread over the internet just so smarks could think they know what’s going on, only to reveal it as untrue by not following through with the rumors. Sometimes things are untrue, but hardly (or not at all) because of this reason. I’m not delusional because I would not give the big two such credit, but WWE/TNA as they are now have put such a bad taste in my mouth I might stop watching for a few years again. To me, one is not better than the other – they both suck. I haven’t watched Sheamus in a looong time and that’s saying something as to how irritated I am with the way things are right now. I could watch all the indy stuff I want (and I do) but there’s wrestlers in the major promotions I’d like to see. If this is true about Roxxi then it’s no way to run a business. The Bischoff quote is even more contradictory/confusing now. Where is all this going? They’ve gotten rid of great wrestling talent after great talent – to what end? Smh

  22. I knew Eric Biscoff was lying when he said the Knockouts was the center of TNA. Many years ago he stated that he disliked how WWE made Lita and Trish the stars of the show and that women have no place in wrestling. And I personally think that he got Dixie into agreeing with him. If they truly don’t care about/dislike the Knockouts, they might as well deacitivate the damn division instead of screwing them one by one.

This is purely misogynistic behavior at its finest. I find this 10x worse than what WWE does to its Divas. It’s better to be a long-tern, well-paid jobber than a poorly paid, good worker who ends up getting fired all of a sudden with no explanation.

There are many questions to be asked. Why Roxxi? Does TNA have a hidden agenda when it comes to Knockouts? How involved was Eric, Dixie, and Hogan in this? Isn’t there something fishy about Madison Rayne ending people’s careers?

Not only is TNA looking like WCW, it’s looking like WWE’s early days. TNA has already set up a legitimate screwjob (Kurt Angle’s doesn’t count cuz it was kayfabe), and now most of us are waiting for them to ditch the KOs, just like WWE in 1990 and 1995 (however, the circumstances in ’95 was pretty bad, as most people know). In the end, all three of those major promotions have a MAJOR lack of respect towards women.

This is a huge wake-up call to women’s wrestlers out there. If any major promotion screws (not necessarily screwjob) their employees in any way, shape, or form, then it’s a sign that one should stay away from them. WWE did it many, many times with Divas, WCW never had respect for women, and now look what TNA has done.

It’s no wonder why so many women wrestlers refuse to go mainstream. They know what will happen if they join WWE or TNA. This is why I fear for Divas who came from the indies because who knows what shenanigans WWE will put them in (ex. Jillian). And of course we all know what MsChif has to say about these things…

All I can say right now is that may Roxxi can stay strong and get justice (if possible) and that the next promotion she goes to gives her the love and respect she deserves.

  23. yes everyone, a horrible tragedy happened today, when i tune in to a tna ppv i expect to see all of the beautiful people, Madison was of course her goddess self, but it’s so unsatisfying not see Lacey and Velvet- what are you all talking about? roxxi fired- oh my bad-wrong tragedy

callie- not your typical perv or somoan

  24. One thing that’s clear, though, thru all the smoke and mirrors, all the condescension and patronizing.. the real answer is that it’s coming from the top down.

    Bischoff.

If EB wanted this to go over, it would. He’s nobody’s fool and certainly capable of doing good work or at least above-average when he tries. If you follow his stuff now, what he’s saying, where his mindset is, it’s definitely not with the women. I can imagine the political hellstorm going on backstage when they’re at 1.0 and Dutch Mantell/Jim Cornette had TNA at 1.3 with Knockouts going even stupidly higher. It’s certainly an interesting case.

Like I said, bill of goods.

And yes, even diminishing the Iconography, the mystique of The Beautiful People is an ongoing crime. They built this brand on Angelina and Velvet, and now Madison Rayne is cashing in solo in PPV after PPV, with *CLEAN* wins? I mean, I think that intelligent booking doesn’t necessarily cross over with “hillbilly,” it’s just that many of the people that actually know how the mechanics worked in regional promotions (that had massive competition) are a certain type. The WWE’s incredible market exposure has watered down what booking should be if you’re starting with less, as far as less “cram it down their throats” factor or less “repeat the Drew McIntyre cartoon 40,000 times” and it will get over. That’s not real wrestling and it shouldn’t ever be.

If the past is any indication, failing to capitalize on the hottest arm of the promotion could again be a major Bischoff undoing. He’s done it before with the cruiserweights of WCW, who were generating massive buzz, terrific PPV matches and bridging important ratings gaps with a resurgent WWE. EB ignored them, took away Rey and Kidman and left others to stagnate or be fired, quit their storylines and did the typical “champion and chattel” mini-division routine that ultimately bombed. It’s not rocket science. In other words, do the homework. And they’re not doing that with the Knockouts division at present.

The silver lining is, naturally, that is should open any eyes left to the true nature of the problem. TNA may have sold it’s mortal soul and the results are disturbing to those who even, fairly of heart, just wanted a solid alternative and a more competitive wrestling landscape.

  25. Roxxi showed just how much class she has. She went out there and put on a great match with Madison, she didn’t half ass it. No one would blame her if she had. Kudos to her! And Madison should definitely bear no blame, this is on management’s shoulders.

Standing ovation for this write up Cryssi. Agree 100%. You’d think that with a woman running the company they’d take better care of their women’s division. If anything before tonight showed that wasn’t the case, tonight’s events did for certain. Dixie doesn’t give a flying fuck about the Knockouts. Even though they’ve drawn ratings time and again.

We’ll give her love in Sept at the SHIMMER tapings no doubt about it. She doesn’t need TNA, screw them.

  26. I remember Gail Kim once said something along the lines of, “The WWE killed womens wrestling. Sorry Vince, we’re (TNA) bringing women’s wrestling back.”

Gail was right. The KO’s did bring it back but unfortunately Hogan, Bischoff & Dixie have killed it again…. or are trying to.

I cannot believe what they did to Roxxi. She has been fired thrice now by the company. She seems like such a nice person in interviews & she is an awesome wrestler. She didn’t deserve this.

I will not be surprised if Hamada, ODB, Sarita, Taylor, Rosie or even Daffney get the boot next.

Maybe they are making Madison a “career killer” so they can save money.

  27. we used to have like the greatest women wrestling division ever … and now that !
i hope the “career killer” thing is not Madison’s new storyline ..cuz that would mean that all his SHIT isn’t over !
is it me or is tna trying to be as stupid as the wwe is sometimes !?
    ….well hum ….WELL DONE TNA !

  28. Cryssi…

you took the words right out of my mouth!

I’ve been saying over and over and over again and I’ll say it yet again…TNA is WCW part 2…look who was already there. Vince Russo…now Hogan and Bischoff are there. The same people that were the downfall of WCW will once again be the downfall of this company. The company is going to shit, especially the women’s division.

The only KO’s I even watched were Kong, Gail, Angelina, Hamada, and Sarita…well…let’s see who’s left on the main roster for them to use PROPERLY on here…Angelina…I love her to death but they need to showcase the strong workers too! I personally thought it was a big mistake to bring in yet another new KO when they weren’t even using Hamada or Sarita…and to find out that Hamada was almost fired because she wasn’t working?! Well whose fault is that?!

I hate to say it, but the WWE divas are starting to do better while the KO’s are sinking. Now that’s definitely not to say that the KO’s are not as talented because it’s obvious that they still have the much more talented wrestlers, but the WWE doesn’t pull the type of BS that TNA just pulled with Roxxi. They don’t tell a Diva she’s fired and then make her go wrestle like nothing’s happened.

excellent write up cryssi~ i always enjoy your work :)

  29. I have a lot of respect for Roxxi for how she dealt with the situation, finding out a few hours before your match that your done with the company and still going out and and putting on a show takes a lot. I really am disgusted with TNA and how they are handling their Knockouts but as long as Bischoff is in charge, its not gonna change. Great write up Cryssi.

  30. great write up cryssi

wow after the sacrafice that roxxie done to tna being the only woman that got the nerve to get her head shaved bald this is who they reward her by getting fired three times wow this i about how low can you go .and when i heared that tna interested in both mickie and katie got excited and i hoped they would go but after wha happiened i rather see them both in either roh shimmer or even wrestesious roxxie you deserved much better and if those jerk offer you money to come back don’t take it .good luck on your future and god bless you.

@yuri i totally disagree actully wwe not getting better look it this way let start with sd the only interesting thing for the moment is lay-cool for now they well get boring eventually if they well n’t bring a new divas asap.and also vince is so dumb for not actknowledge savannah as a wrestler fcw actknowledge her as one of the best worker not to mention a fast learner and i think that she end up on raw since she was on tour with raw which is dump of vince ”the asshole”mccmahon.since sd brand need divas .you look at raw they have some talent like gail kim jillian hall not being getting a single push .but instead the pervert love to push the blond with the bid boobs cough ”maryse” don’t get me wrong i don’t hate maryse but she is horrible in the ring but she is good a showing her personality .

  31. Roxxi should go to WWE where Gail Kim is making money. She may not get push, but she will be treated more than the crappy management in TNA. She has every right to get upset. TNA treated her badly and the other Knockouts should quit as well. NONSENSE!

  32. You know, when it was announced the return of Roxxi I think I posted a comment where I said if anyone wanted to bet that Roxxi was going to be released. I was joking and I was expecting that they didn’t do this to her. Its just disrespectful. But hey, after releasing her two times, she should have a little more brain before accepting this third return.
She was just the rebound girl while Angelina and Daffney were injured.
It makes me sick. They have there Christy “I don’t do nothing but I get payed more than the other KO just because I was in WWE” Hemme. Why is she still there? So CalVal could do her role perfectly, having actually some tv time and they would actually save some money not to mention the fact that they would look like someone who cares for their original workers and not just for the ex-WWE ones. They have valets who just waste tv time (especially Brooke “Stacy Keibler wanna-be” Adams). And then they release someone as talented as Roxxi? I think they’re on some type of crazy drugs. I really don’t want to believe that a bunch of human beings can be so retarded without taking some shit that screws up their already lacking intelligence.

  33. Real Diva fans have got to be finding this week so deliciously validating. The TNA Knockoffs are all at once nothing but a trainwreck full of wannabes working in an even lower class, horribly booked division on a show with far less worldwide exposure and making approximately 400 percent less dollar bills for the pleasure of doing so. The vindication must taste very, very good at this point.

  34. I started getting dissapointed by the down fall of the Knockout’s division after they got rid of Alissa Flash. The teaser feud they had between her and Hamada could have gone on fa an easy 3 months.

I do have to say that i look foward to Madison Rayne. She gets better and better every week! And Cryssi is right, nobody should hold any ill will towards her.

Im a fan of The Beautiful People gimmick, but it was alot more fun when the “Cleansing the world…” line was jus part of the gimmick :/

  35. a great write up cryssi, I’m very sad about what went down especially given the reports that Roxxi didn’t even know until she turnt up tonight. if this was the surprise Dixie was talking about on Twitter then i hope she kept the receipt

I’m just worried about the positions of Hamada, ODB, Taylor and Sarita now.
i doubt this will end well, and it sucks because TNA has always had a roster full of very talented woman

  36. While it’s certainly possible that Roxxi was competing on a pay per appearance basis, with no guarantee of a full-time contract, her termination at Slammiversary last night is both dumbfounding and truly mind boggling in its ruthlessness and callousness. Roxxi showed just how classy and professional she is as a competitor (and a person) by going through with the match as planned while needlessly bleeding buckets in the process. Informing anyone that they are terminated mere hours before a big match televised internationally via PPV is a highly unprofessional means of doing business. This incident is yet another blatant reminder of how the wrestling industry is riddled with snakes, scumbags and self-serving fools looking for any excuse to further their own destructive agenda at the expense of good people struggling to realize their dreams.

  37. I’m so sorry for Roxxi, fans love her so she could come back after this match….I hope for her….she deserves better…..but all division is dying….I hope things could be better in future….I hope for these girls, they are the greatest women wrestler in TV and they’ve got a bad management, actually WWE bookers are better then TNA bookers….now Divas are good in their shows, not the Knockouts :( but after all, congratulations to Madison….I love The Beautiful People….and I think that tonight Madison acted so weel her role…..now she’s the champion, and tonight she looked like a champion of course….a good heel with the crowd all against her….very good…..I hope for next tapings for see Roxxi :(

  38. All I can say is lucky Roxxi for getting out of this pit of crap.

  39. I am officially done with TNA. They’re booking is awful, Bischoff and Hogan are running the show, and the storylines don’t make sense. The only reason why I like it now is because of RVD and Jeff Hardy. TNA clearly doesn’t give a damn about the Knockouts now. And to think these dummies want to be better than WWE? Did they forget that the KOs are the highest rated segment? I would be interesting they don’t realize what they’re missing until it’s gone. In this case, it’s the Knockouts.

I don’t want Roxxi to go to WWE. They have to many problems backstage and with management. I would hate for her to limit her moveset just because of the Divas and PG rating policy. Even if the Divas are doing better on television, it doesn’t mean that it’s doing better backstage.

As a matter of fact, WWE and TNA should get rid of women’s wrestling at this point because they are always poorly booked, giving championships to people who don’t deserve it (why in the blue hell are LVE and Eve champions?), and are treated very poorly backstage. If Roxxi continues to wrestle (I can’t blame her for taking a break right now), she should go to SHIMMER, AAA, or maybe even Japan. I’m sure she’ll be much happier there.

  40. Ok . . .

Why’d they bring her back for like 2 weeks?

Did she know she was getting fired before the match?

    :S

SPAM DIXIE’S TWITTER WITH SEXIST COMMENTS (As in you’re Women’s Wrestlings Worst Nightmare, You Are A Fail Of A Woman) etc.

    @TNADixie

  41. i always thought wwe has a non-human management but man TNa proved me wrong…my love to wwe makes hate tna sometimes and its great time for me to take advantage…all i can say to roxxie “girl u have to go to wwe”i wish they contact her she is a great talent and she fits wwe style in a good way she can be the new molly holly or something since they repeating the golden era style sometimes…
and for madison like i said before she is (TNA’s kiss of death)..i love the girl she is unique ad i dont blame her like cryssi said its all scripted and she must play her rule or else she will be the next to leave in a filthy way

  42. Wow!! TNA have gone overboard with this, I don’t understand why they treat all their Knockouts like dog’s shit, Roxxi is talented & they just decide one day, let’s fuck with her & release her

So to sum up; TNA sucks

She was already announced for the next Shimmer tapings yesterday.

  44. I am VERY dissapointed, the reason they rehired Roxxi was b’cos Angelina was set for the fued with Madison but since Angelina was injured, they gave it to Roxxi.

When i heard this morning that Roxxi was gone, i wasn’t shocked really b’cos like Madison said, she has come & gone from the company. But how the company delivered the news to Roxxi, i was very ashamed.

The match itself, that hit with the microphone.. OH SNAP! i felt that myself & she was bleeding.

    Madison”Career Killer”Rayne, kinda goes (:

I wouldn’t be surprised next if on the next set of tapings Hamada or Sarita win a battle royal then get a title shot aganist Madison either after the match or the next PPV & it will be another Title vs Career match.

  45. What the hell is wrong with TNA? What they did to Roxxi is unconscionable. I hope that it is a blessing in desguise, and Roxxi shoulod never go back to the TNA. On New Years Eve, The Knock Out Division was at the top of their game, six months later, they are going down the tubes. It is not the women’s fault, but it is Management’s fault. Dixie Carter needs to take back control of TNA. Bishoff & Hulk need to go. I hope that this situation is not Tixie Carter’s nice surprise as seen on Twitter.

Cryssi did a great Editorial on this bad situation.

  46. AND ROXXI WOULD DO GREAT ON THE INDEPENDENT CIRCUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  47. I still can’t believe I read the comment Eric Bischoff gave a few days ago. Lol. Maybe he and Hogan were secretly sent by the WWE to destroy TNA from the inside. :) That would be lame.

Either way, I’m pretty much done with TNA. I think that all this started when Gail left the company. Of course, she left because she wasn’t getting paid what she deserved as someone who really brought a pathetic promotion a few notches higher than what it was supposed to be.

Not only does it maltreats its employees as talents but it also seems to maltreat its employees by people. The funny thing is, if this company goes bankrupt, the wrestlers would most likely be able to find other jobs in the industry. But what about minds behind its downfall? What of Dixie and her old-school boy-toys? Good luck. ;)

  50. i’m still waiting on some sort of comment from roxxi herself before i react too harshly.

how do we know that roxxi didn’t know she was only going to be there temporarily and that this was tna’s plan from when she came back last month? also, i prefer the story of madison retiring her, rather than having roxxi just get released quietly later this week or next.
