Divas Champion, Eve Torres will defend the title in a four-way match this Sunday at the new Fatal 4-Way pay per view, it has been announced.
Torres will face off against Alicia Fox, Gail Kim and Maryse at the event.
With only four matches announced so far, cross your fingers for a Layla/Michelle/Kelly/Tiffany match to be announced at the SmackDown taping tomorrow night!

Well first off, it’s about time they started adding some matches to the PPV. It seems like for a week or more we’ve only had the 2 big matches and it seemed like that’s all we were going to have going into this week.
With that aside, I’m glad they got both Alicia and Gail in this match. They should make it interesting since we’ve seen Eve vs Maryse so much already. I’m hoping for one of them, Alicia or Gail, to hold the title coming out of Fatal Four Way, but I’m not holding my breath. I sense either Eve continuing on with her title reign or Maryse getting the title back.
Alicia and Gail are there to add some spice to the match because Maryse/Eves match was not great last time. WWE is buying time until another heel will face off against Eve

I don’t know how good Eve’s chances are after winning clean tonight without Gail’s help. if she was going to retain the title Sunday, why not have one of the heels win tonight?

Ooo…a fatal 4 way for the diva title. When was the last time there was a diva match w/ the title on the line and on a PPV? To my knowledge, last time it happened was in 2003 Judgement Day. It was Jacqueline vs Victoria vs Jazz vs Trish. Loved that match. Being a Trish fan here, Trish took a brutal fall outside that ring that I don’t think any female wrestler would be willing to do. Hope this one could be just as good.

sasyazn-Actually, the last one was in 2004 at Bad Blood where Trish won her fifth title. It was Gail vs Victoria(c) vs Lita vs Trish, and it was actually quite an infamous match during it’s time, and even now!
Oh, whoopey! WWE sticks a Divas match on the ppv last minute with little-to-no buildup at all again! YAAAAY! Whatever. Maybe they’ll do a Melina vs Michelle’ and pull out the match of the year? Oh who am I kidding? There are three rookies, one veteran, and one chick who couldn’t wrestle a solid match on ppv to save her life all in one match! Hopefully it won’t be a tranny hot mess…GAIL FTW BTW!!
Technically there sticking almost every match in the PPV at the last minute.

Tonight all we know is that Alicia kicked Maryse in the face, Eve took advantage, and Gail and Eve want a clean battle. Why should we have a heel win with no storyline advantage, especially with a diva returning anytime soon

Typically, whoever goes into the PPV with the momentum loses. Eve won what was basically a handicap match tonight (since Gail didn’t wrestle) and didn’t even win by a fluke but with a move and clean pin. Usually, when someone is put over that strongly in the build-up match, it’s so they don’t look bad when they lose at the PPV.
I have a strong feeling that Alicia or Gail is going to win.

Not to mention, this match is HISTORY MAKING because it is the first time the Divas title has been defended or fought for in a non-singles match

Michelle never loses, Trish was Trish (and was the best choice most of time), and they were really seriously building Jazz up as a butt kicker everytime she was a title holder. lol
This match really don’t excite me. Multi-diva matches in recent years haven’t been good. Filled with contrived spots and dead crowds, they probably stand out to me for the wrong reasons. lol
Plus, I just do not get the Alicia buzz. She comes across as so forced in her attitude and her look is just odd it me. Not only her face, but her body is just too long and lanky to the point I feel she is going to snap some bone badly at some point in her career. =/

And there’s many examples of the person with the momentum losing at the PPV. It happened with Maryse at Night of Champions, Mickie at TLC, Michelle at Royal Rumble, Michelle at Extreme Rules, and Maryse at Over the Limit. All of them had the upper hand in the feud and/or won a match right before the PPV match, and all of them lost at the PPV.
With the way Eve won tonight, I really think they were just setting her up for a loss on Sunday. Winning by herself tonight, then winning on Sunday would just make it look like nobody is a threat to her.
My Vote Goes To A Fox Since WWE Are Giving There Younger Talent The Spotlight and Are Showing Off The Future Of The Divas Division. Also When Melina Comes Back She Can Feud w/ Alicia Since Melina’s Last AIRED Match Was Against Alicia Which Was A Decent Match Up, Then Maryse Can Feud w/ Melina After The Supposedly Fox/Melina Feud, Melina Is Said To Be Coming Back In Early August, So Gives A Chance For Alicia To Feud w/ Eve,Gail, and Maybe Even Natalya Then Melina Attacks Alicia Leading To The Feud Plus If Alicia Wins It On June 20th Then She’ll Have A Decent Reign and Lose It In Early August. 2nd Vote Gail Kim, 3rd Vote Eve and Last Marysee,Mehh.
Hmmm… The Divas Championship defended in a Fatal 4-Way? Now that sounds interesting. Although I can’t help but wonder how this is going to turn out. Eve and Maryse can barely work, Alicia is so-so, and Gail is the only legitimate wrestler.
I don’t want to see Eve retain her title because the crowd doesn’t care much about her and ring skills are not that good. I don’t want Maryse to become champion again because 1.) she can’t wrestle and 2.) it’s unfair as it is to have her be the only multi-time Divas Champion, let alone 3 times. I honestly wouldn’t mind having Alicia as champ because she’s having some interesting storylines lately and I can tell she tries her best in the ring. But I definitely want to see Gail as champion because not only can she wrestle, but she can make a great top babyface until Melina returns (if they decide to keep her face). Build the Raw Divas’ division around her, just like TNA did with her and then maybe she can get a good reaction from fans (provided that she is pushed properly, unlike Eve).
So that being said: Gail FTW!

They seem to be giving Alicia a push though so she might win.. I doubt it though I’m 90% certain Eve is gonna win. *shrug*

personally alicia or gail should win this and this feud for the title.personally i don’t want eve or maryse with the belt i have nothing on them but maryse can’t wrestle eve is ok but i don’t think that she can connect with the crowed .
@ Melanie i hate to disagree with you but i don’t think sd divas well have a title match unless it was a single match or a handicape match between layla vs kelly or layla with tiffany.or laycool vs kelly or tiffany.because the creative love them and it’s too early to turn them on each other and with the whole co champs .it impossible in fatel four way that that they both well work against each other.
The thing is alicia is starting to botch ;\ , she botched at least twice in this match. Im Hoping For A 10 minute match at fatal 4 way, i want to see some gail jumping off the top rope onto maryse or something. maybe alicia can get more aggresive and throw eve to the steel steps, i hope most of the match occurs on the outside of the ring. there is a likely chance gail will win since melina is said to return soon but if gail wins then loses it to alicia in like 2 months, as long as i see alicia champion before 2011.
I predict that Eve will retain in this one, i see her having a long title reign.
WWE is building her up as the new face of the divas, so winning a match like this will give her more credibility as a champion.
With Gail Kim doing nothing tonight on RAW I do not see Gail getting any closer to that belt than she already has. Eve will retain or Alicia will win … as for Gail Kim … better luck next time.
id say give the title to gail on sunday and have melina return and attack her to make her return……that way they have an actual top heel who can carry a decent match with any of the face divas….i think alicai is still too fresh to have a title reign yet…..and maryse just bores me when she “wrestles” eve is an okay champ but she too is just so boring……im going for gail for the win and melina to return heel….

As for this match, i guarrentee that either Eve will retain or Alicia will win but i don’t see Maryse winning b’cos shes better as the chaser & Gail is well.. just Gail, who always gets the short stick so to speak.
I wouldnt mind Alicia winning but then it’s just another heel going aganist eve,gail & the bellas so i think that they swerve us & give Gail the belt.
However, with Melina returning soon, it’s either she will go to Smackdown as the top babyface or return to raw as the top babyface, so if maryse or alicia win then Melina will be next in line.
As long as Maryse/Eve dont come out as champion I’m happy.

This is like her 4th title shot, I thought 3rd time was meant to be lucky, haha, well she may be looking at her 7th or 19th time even.
I’d say this would be the perfect oppertunity for Gail Kim or Alicia Fox to take the belt home. This could work really well if they take a few trips down memory lane and see how the divas have worked the fatal 4way match in the past :).
With Maryse looking to be the #1 contender again following last weeks match-up, I’m glad they decided to involve G&A into the title picture for this event – They couldn’t have just ended Maryse and gave it to Gail or Alicia so this seems the perfect way to spice up Raws Diva Division again :D.
Can’t wait for the match :D.

I’m pretty excited, and I’ve got a feel it might be Alicia that walks away as champ.
I’m feeling like Alicia or Eve are going to win. If Eve wins it would be to solidify her as a dominant champion and Melina is cleared to return as the Latina addition to Maryse and Alicia’s “former models with prima donna attitudes” group and be the top heel (which we all know she works well as) and challenge Eve (and probably win the title from her). If Alicia wins, I’m thinking Mel is going to SD! since she would steal Eve’s fledgling thunder if she returned as a face. With the Diva’s Champ being A. Foxxy; Eve, Gail, and even Maryse (who could flip out even more now that her friend has the belt and not her) could challenge.
Gail could win, but I’m really thinking that she is going to be used to train whichever diva (Maryse or Alicia) is not feuding for the title with the new top babyface Eve. Speaking of the Notorious E.V.E, I do wish she would find a finisher, she’s been wrestling for too long and winning to not have one. And it better not be that broke-down overdrive neckbreaker/Moonlight Drive she pulled tonight. She could let it be a moonsault, those look great. Maryse needs to switch the French Kiss and French TKO as primary and secondary finishers.

as much as i hate eve i have a bad feeling that she will win… maybe with a roll up on maryse while shes flipping her hair and she’ll do her signature scream,,,, another 10 sec matches…..
SHOULD be a great match, seeing as all four divas are excellent in the ring, IF given enough time; however some struggle in fast pase matches, i personally do no see Eve Torres loosing the title, and i do not have a problem with that but they need to start giving her some promo’s / storylined fueds to build her character, because when given the chance to do promo’s Eve is very good and shows some sort of spunk. I personally want to see Alicia Fox as champion but i dont see it happening.
Also this match would have been ALOT better if there was some sort of build to it, but we can’t have it all can we, Eve vs Alicia vs Gail vs Maryse should be a good match, thank you wwe.

i dont think gail will ever win another title with wwe…..jillian has a better chance. divas match i dont care who wins as long as they are awesome champs i hope that a womens fatal 4 way will not happen. its to early to have layla lose her title or fued with McCool. but if they do have a womens 4 way Lay-Cool could pin the other divas at the same time and become legit co-womens champs

i think eve will win because it will make her look impressive as she beat 3 other divas…..ill be shocked if gail won but in a good way as she has mainly been on superstars and not raw or maryse can become a 3 time champ but i would either love eve retaining or alicia winning the belt will look good on her…another reason is that i dont think gail will win because its rare to see a babyface champion pass the belt to another babyface they need a heel…..
I too would love to see Alicia Fox to win, I think she’s improving greatly. Her character is good too – she needs to be given more mic time/better storylines (but don’t all the diva’s). I don’t think she will win either tho. I think you’re right in suggesting Eve will retain the title – unless there is a women’s championship match at Fatal-4-Way too and Lay-Cool lose their respective titles to a babyface (which i think is unlikely).
i am hoping Fox or Kim come out as the winner, then Fox can feud with Eve or hopefully Natalya or possible become face, although i doubt that saying as they are lacking heel Diva wrestlers on RAW!
Gail Kim is my second vote, she deserves a title reign, i mean she is an amazing athlete & has not received a title run since returning to WWE!
i would like to know why a person in her perfect mind would want to see a Laycool vs Tiffany and Kelly in a PPV…..and even for a title match…
