We have a new Divas Champion! Alicia Fox was just crowned the new champion moments ago defeating Eve Torres, Maryse and Gail Kim in a fatal four-way match.
After Eve hit a moonsault on Maryse, Alicia quickly re-entered the ring, throwing Eve out and stealing the win by pinning Maryse.
This is Fox’s first major championship in professional wrestling. Her only other credit is the OVW Women’s Championship.
Fox — real name Victoria Crawford — joined WWE in 2006 along with Kelly Kelly after being scouted in a catalogue. She spent two years in the developmental system before making her main roster debut in the summer of 2008.
At just 23 years old, Fox makes history as the youngest Diva to win the Divas Championship. I believe [but don't quote me on this] she may even be the youngest Diva to win a WWE championship, period. [Wendi Richter won the Women's Title at age 22].

While I wanted Eve to keep it so that she could prove herself as champ by defending it on numerous occasions (only once…really?) I’m glad because I loves Alicia. That means I’ll be seeing more of her. You. Go. Guuuuuuuuuuuuurl.

Actually Melanie, Wendi Richer is the youngest Diva to become champion, as she was 22 years old when she won the Women’s Championship.

Wendi is the youngest women, in total the youngest champ ever in the wwe was david flair winning the wwe united states championship when he was twenty!
YAY! This is actually a perfect set-up, since Melina should be returning soon. The two of them have had good chemistry in the past, and a feud between the two could do wonders for the title. (Of course, that’s only if the WWE let’s them shine, which is a big IF :/)
wow I saw that coming but I’m still shocked…. idk how well she can carry the belt but in time we’ll see. I mean what an interesting turn haha… It’s funny to think they were going to release her supposedly and now she’s a champ… Congrats!

I think I heard some “boring” chants during the match.
They somehow built to this even less than they did Eve’s win. At least Eve chased Maryse for a month leading up to her win. This was just completely random.
Happy she won, but that was a bad match. All divas was pretty sloppy.

I’m soooooooo happy she won, I LOVE ALICIA ‘fierce’ FOX. Only i am hoping Melina doesn’t return tommorow and take Alicia’s belt, i wouldn’t mind if Melina returned and started a fued but dont let her take the title. I kind of want Alicia to have a LONG reign. But right now i am just happy she is the DIVAS CHAMPION!

I think the unpredictability was the point though. It was to stress the fact that anything can happening in a F4W, just like Miz’s win on RAW. Mainly to hype the big title matches and create interest in a show that could otherwise be seen as tame in comparison to the other gimmick PPVs.
Congrats to Alicia. I’m not really a fan, but maybe she’ll impress me. She and Gail really do have good chemistry.

My girl did it. Alicia Fox is finally the WWE Divas Champion. Now i’m just waiting for all trhe hatin to start like it did with Eve. Anyway i’m so happy for her. The feuds now should be pretty good since she has chemistry with Melina and Gail. She also did pretty good against Natalya when they were in ECW.

Loved Maryse and Alicia interactions! How come Maryse managed to survive three submissions in this match, yet she typically taps in a few seconds of Eve’s armbar? And Alicia ate Maryse’s TKO to the jaw didn’t she?

That match still wasn’t all that great. Too much dead air. Gail and Alicia hit the big spots; Maryse gave same attitude, a hot new outfit, and a few great strikes; Eve… I don’t know she did a few cool things, but since we’ve seen better moonsaults and stuff. But on the plus side, she did seem to actually connect with her dropkicks. Match felt like they mapped out a match that was 2/3 as long as it actually ended up being.

Really good 6 person mixed tag match! Tamina stuck with what she knew and the Uso and the Harts were freaking awesome, that flipping double clothesline from Tyson was hot!!
So glad to have a new champion; especially Alicia Fox- she has been in wrestling the same amount of time as Kelly Kelly and you can definitely see how far A. Fox has come.
I really think there should be either:
two different types of women wrestlers in WWE:
Divas that went for the Divas Championship (Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, Eve, Kelly Kelly, Layla, Maryse, Nikki Bella, Rosa Mendes, Savannah, Tiffany, *Aksana, *Jamie Keyes,*Livianna)
and a New Breed of Women’s wrestlers- the Elite, most dominant women in professional wrestling [INSERT NAME examples: Vixen, Starlets, SuperWomen, Sirens, etc...] (Beth Phoenix, Gail Kim, Jillian, Melina, “Michelle McCool”, Natalya, Serena, Tamina, *AJ Lee, *Naomi NIght) & bring in women like Awesome Kong, Roxxi, women from the past like Mickie and Trish, indy wrestlers, from Japan and Mexico etc…
or
make Divas start out on the Divas Championship path and then move on to- once they’ve earned it…. the Women’s Championship
Then VKM as well as the WWE Universe would have the best of both worlds- Beautiful eye candy wrestlers and Real Women’s wrestlng. It’d would only help ratings and give women wrestlers validity in the wrestling world- I’m tired of seeing people say that Divas Matches “don’t count” or “are just a filler”
According to the WWE, the Divas and Women’s titles are equal. WWE is probably not going to make it seem like one is greater than the other, one is just older. Keep in mind–Melina, Michelle, Mickie and Jillian (who is a wrestler actually) have held the Divas title.
Loved the Tamina, Nattie match up, i would really like to see a singles match, and plus you couldnt even tell Tamina, is green, she was good.

Man nattie was awsome in six tag team she dominated in that. Tamina was good too. Congrats to Alicia Fox. I wanted eve keep it. Eve should won another reign But she has rematch clause. But Gail so deseved more I can’t wait unitil she fueds with alicia now for that chance. Melina will be coming soon Alicia won’t holding that title for long.

Not my particular preference. But, I hope with this result, people will stop complaining because majority was rooting for Alicia and saying how “knowing WWE” *rolls eyes* they wouldn’t give Alicia the title. Well, look! She has it. So hopefully, for once, there will be more positives than negatives in the comment section.
Gail gets treated jus like Lita Did… they use her popularity to get here over more.. they like people getting mad cuz she didnt win! It Makes us want to see her more! and so when she finally wins the belt itll be a night to remember!
Didn’t actually get to see the match but I’m happy.. VERY happy for the result. Alicia is one of the few Models turned Wrestlers who had actually approved a very good amount and has taken part in some good to great matches with the upper rank wrestlers (Melina, Mickie, Gail), So, I see nothing but positive things coming from Alicia’s win. Let’s not forget Alicia has personality and she’s not bad on the mic. People don’t forget she was Michelle’s mouth piece until the diva trade.
I feel like Alicia will be more captivating. Especially if they keep her feud with Gail going. Eve did nothing for me. Not a bash on her, I just was not impressed at all. She’s still better than Kelly Kelly, so I’ll take Eve over Kelly any day.
It looks like they might be grooming for Alicia vs. Maryse though. The kick from Raw, now Alicia pinned Maryse. Maryse would make a good face and that seems like the area they’re heading. I’d prefer Gail vs. Alicia but hey, we got a new champ, I’m down for whatever.

and I doubt Gail Kim will ever win the Divas Championship- She deserves it (arguably) more than any other Diva; however, she’s held every Women’s Single Championship in America (TNA Knockout’s Championship, WWE Women’s Championship), so I don’t think she will ever get that chance unfortunately… (WWE got rid of her the first time for poor reasons… and she’s just there for the amount of money they’re paying her- or else I’m sure she’d still be the face of the KO Division)
but overall- It’s great to see Alicia as the Divas Champion =)
With the pay increase that comes with being a champ, she will be able to get a weave that doesn’t look like she pulled it out of a dumpster and sewed it (horribly) on her head. If you need a headband to hide the tracks in the front, your weave is busted.
lets hope for melina not to take the gold away from her straight off, maybe alicia for champ until september
