People complaining about the idea of Kelly holding the women’s title, look right there. That’s a former women’s champion who won the title in a swimming pool evening gown match. haha
yeah but back then the womans divison had good effort put into matches and this was before the women started raising the bar….
what i mean is divas in the 2002-2007 era had amazing matches but they have lost it nowdays

Did you watch any of the Kat/Terri matches? The Kat going topless? B.B. and her monster breasts? How about Godfather’s ‘Hoes’? Sable and the paint on her boobs? At least WWE acknowledge athleticism nowadays, whereas back then it was practically Jackie, Ivory and Tori to an extent. And Luna, I guess, but she was just weird.
Scratch that…you’re talking 2002-2007. Even so, that was the era of endless B&P matches and bikini/costume contests, particularly on SmackDown. And HLA. And the Diva Search!
i’ve always found it weird how i look back upon the days of miss kitty, terri, debra, puppies, evening gowns, pudding bowls, etc, and feel all happy and warm inside!

Yeah, I never liked Kat. She was hot, yes, but I never found her likable. She was just a slut. And I have no idea why they made her Women’s Champion.
i didnt mean it like nowadays people are hos lol i mean is that there was wrestling but nothing that athletic in a way such as there wasnt no one who was doing hurricarannes ( cant spell) or diving moonsaults or moves that are seen nowdays in the womens division and

I didn’t mind the cat but its funny how some people would put her over a diva like Kelly who is leaps and bounds better than her, Terri and many more divas of that era.

i have to agree. of course the kat was crap in the ring, much like most of the other women from the puppies era, but she was always more a character than a wrestler. just like terri and debra and the other what i guess we can call “old models”. they had personality and unfortunately that’s something that the wwe doesn’t want for the women of this decade.
i feel like i know more about BB the character when she was only around for a month or two than i do about most of the current divas who’ve been around for years.
The big difference that I note about womens wrestling, then and now, is that back in the days the Divas weren’t supposed to be taken seriously, they were all terrible wrestlers, they just had crazy catfights and lingerie matches.
Some years later the WWE Divas were basically divided into two groups, the wrestlers that competed for the title (Trish, Lita, Jazz, Molly, Jacqueline, Ivory, Victoria…) and the eye candy (Torrie, Dawn, Sable, Stacy…), if you notice, the eye candy were all placed on SD! (or at least, most of them), where they had no title to compete for.
That’s the problem with todays division, it’s basically eye candy and wrestlers all thrown together into a ring, you can’t expect something amazing fromt that. A thing that I believe could help the division, is basically get the Divas Title on SD!, the Womens on RAW and divide the divas into two big groups, the actual wrestlers and the eye candy, RAW: Beth, Gail, Jillian, Melina, Michelle, Layla, Alicia, Nattie, Tamina and Tiffany competing for the Womens Title and SD!: Eve, Kelly, Rosa, Maryse and Bellas competing for the Divas Title.
Pedro I so agree with you. The women’s title should’ve never left Raw to begin with. The better wrestlers should be going for the Women’s title and the up in comers should be going for the Divas. I know the WWE sees the titles as equals but I don’t.
I think they kind of screwed up when they gave Mickie the Divas title. Same with Melina, it just would’ve been a lot better to make it exclusive to girls like Eve or Kelly. Michelle wasn’t that good when she held the title, now that she’s improved I definetly wouldn’t like to see her with that fugly butterfly thingy.
Pedro I posted the samething earlier on another site about Melina and Mickie. Those 2 should have never won the Diva’s Title. It just shouldn’t have happened.
I hope it was just for those two to have the “Held both diva belts” tag on them. I really want them to start making it exclusive to the other girls. I don’t mind seeing Alicia with the belt, as she’s not very over with the crowd, she’s really a great worker but I rather see her win the Divas Belt first. I feel like Melina is commin’ and she will win the belt again, which will be terrible in my book, I’d love to have Alicia with the title for a LONG time.
I thought I was watching Kesha for a second there. And she’s dating him?! Wow, talk about a random pair. I wonder what happened in the time that she wanted nothing to do with wrestling to now? Anyway, I liked her. She wrestled better in MCW, ofcourse she was working with Molly and Victoria..but she was doing okay. Much better than when she shocked people on Smackdown by performing a bodyslam during a Battle Royal. Truthfully she wasn’t anything special, she was raunchy..but I still liked her. Maybe because I really enjoyed the attitude era and everything that came with it. The introductions of Lita and Trish, Stephanie as Womens Champion, and even Mae Young giving birth to that man hand lol! I guess Kat reminds me of all that. :)
I still remember her match against Terri at Summerslam and how hard JR was putting there wrestling over. I don’t know if it’s sad to say that their match is one of my faves lol. As for Alicia I do hope she holds the title for awhile. With the lack of women on Smackdown i’m hoping Melina returns there with Gail finally some kind of way

Well that explains it! Lol.
I was never really a fan of The Kat, and the only reason she was given the Womens Championship was due to her relationship with Jerry Lawler, however the difference between women like The Kat, Terri, BB and other ‘models’ from that era compared to the women of now is that the girls back then were actually entertaining, and the majority of their matches had some sort of sexualized or just flat out hilarious stipulation. WWE was much more risque back then and much more campy and light hearted (even the serious storylines had an over the top soap opera like undertone to them) and if you watch the gimmick type match ups from the 99-00 era, you’ll notice that even though the wrestling is rather basic, the crowd enjoy it and get into the match due to whatever the stipulation was that was attached to the match (I remember Kat & Terri had a ”thong stink face” match at Summerslam where they wrestled in thongs and the first one to stink face the other was the winner) there was plenty of comedic and sexualized spots which covered up the limited ability of the two, also the fact that the much was built up over a fun feud where Terri got stink faced about 3 weeks in a row by Rikishi and Kat made it funny and enjoyable.
The problem with the women now a days is you have girls who are on the same level, wrestling wise as these women back then but instead of putting them in comedic type feuds and match ups to cover up their obvious lack of ability, they’re thrown into one on one match ups for titles and only have their ”ability” or lack there of to stand on. Were supposed to take them serious as wrestlers when they are very basic in the ring, that combined with little to no character build up or progression (back then the women had, often outrageous characters) you get that flat no reaction because nobody really cares. Obviously im not referring to seasoned women like Gail Kim, Jillian ect as even back in 1999 they had talented females such as Jacqueline and Ivory.
Well this is bound to be an interesting one…
The Kat was the first wrestling personality I ever met. She was sweet, charming, so good with the disabled fans – but what struck me was how young she was. Here’s this girl who’s on an international stage due to her looks (and partly because of who she was married to), and she’s barely older than me. I believe her when she says she didn’t know who she was. I can’t stand Lawler but I admire the fact he stuck by her and walked out with her when she was fired.
She seems a lot more stable and steady now, which is good. If she’s happy with Sinn and has a happy life now, then all power to her.
What an odd pairing. I would really like to see her interview. I could care less about Kizarny lol. I’m really interesting in her exit with WWE. That was a pretty nasty battle back in the day lol.
Ewwgh…I coulda done w/o Kizarny, I literally covered his half of the vid..tacky lol And he ain’t no former WWE star, he was on tv for like a combined 10 minutes. Girl please.
Interesting how many shoot interviews are coming out at the same time! lol Can’t say I was a big fan of The Kat, but I’m sure she has a lot of good stories too tell. Tho what was she on about when asked about Terri..”she wasn’t a pleasure to work with, but she wasn’t a problem” – huh? Girl can u clarify on that ass. So she was like a bore? Or wasn’t really in it but never complained? Gotta see the whole thing lol
terri never wanted to wrestle but she was always willing to bump & the kat i love her & her matches with ivory,molly & victoria are me favs since she showed what she could do not what wwe had her do..
why is that guy there hes just awful & cuts her off like wtf she had a career in wwe he didnt..
i dont think she got the title thanks to her then husband she was over with the crowd & she was willing to bare her “kittens” & have gimmick matches but shes still stunning at 40…
