  1. rosie got screen time this week. guess the campaigning does work! ;)

  2. lol at david. xP alicia was sheerly <3 tonight.

  3. I’ve said it before and I’ll say again; NOBODY has ever cared about Taylor Wilde. We didn’t care when she debut and won the title and we still don’t care about her now. It is sad when The Impact Zone fans that cheer just about everything don’t give any reaction for her. IMO Taylor Wilde was the iceberg that started the sinking ship of the Knockout’s division. Expect me to call on the Diva-Dirt live show to finish my Wilde rant because I’ve alot more to say and I don’t feel like writing it all down.

  4. So now, with nothing standing out, with very little differentiating heel work (the knee was it!), we are racing to the finish to put Alicia over? You’re so far ahead of the crowd you must have went into a time machine. I’m just mind-blown over the kind of flack people used to give MM, when even then she was ahead of where Alicia Fox is now.

Heel mannerisms? Are you serious!? I mean, Alicia Fox is on a positive curve, that’s for sure, at the same time it’s ridiculous to compare here to Maryse or Laycool at this point. She has very little character separating her from the generic under-wrestling attractive woman at this point. A great wrestler? One of the best girls out there? She barely has like three spots! If I was eating something when I heard that, I would’ve choked on it. After all the continuous and often deserved criticism of WWE and their Divas booking, we’re declaring Alicia Fox’s unestablished random arbitrary win, unestablished arbitrary hot heel character with many lackluster spots, as the savior of this? Really? I am just lost as to everyone racing to be “earliest to put over Alicia as the future.”

All of the internet types are racing to have more foresight than the next guy, and are now just reaching into a hyperbole self-headlock of epic proportions. Eve Torres is, right now, ahead of where Alicia is, if barely. Both need a dramatic makeover and amping up of their image and presentation. Alicia still carries herself like a middling-diva and rightfully so, with the type of gravitas in that locker room of Melina, Beth, Laycool, Maryse and Gail Kim as well. I just reflects so poorly on the ‘net commentators that a couple of lukewarm Divas segments with Alicia as champ, plus her completely random and arbitrary title win, are now the “most exciting thing to come along in a while.” If that’s the direction they are going to go, they barely even need to try. Hold them to a higher standard, okay, ANY standard.

  5. Also, yes its obvious that Maryse was pulled away from the main title picture somewhat to work with Ted DiBiase. It speaks to their enormous investment in DiBiase and their plans for the imminent stable of The Fortunate Sons, likely featuring Ted, Maryse as manager/eye candy/female angle tie-in, Mr. McGillicutty, and (cough) “Dashing” Cody Rhodes. Also another DiBiase is possible as well, we’ll have to see. If they can establish and plant seeds for a ‘heel romance’ between DiBiase and Maryse, it would perfectly set the stage for a credible and powerful stable with fan interest. Think of it as Edge and Lita for the cultured set.

If I were in Creative (if they could afford me), I’d be salivating over the initial buzz, particularly the female buzz, for Ted-yse or whatever nickname it ends up being. When the E actually commits to these, knowing the runaway freight train over it can produce (Trish/Y2J/Christian, Edge/Lita/Hardy, etc), they will go all the way and lock it in. If they are doing that with Ted and Maryse (Jury’s still out somewhat, I think there are second thoughts about getting Maryse *that* over), the Divas division will take a big hit. I guess it’s alright, though, since we’ve already decided Alicia Fox is the most exciting women’s talent ever, is such an incredible heel with incredible work and heel mannerisms, is so incredibly over and polished, and the greatest women’s champion in ages. Who will miss Maryse!?

(hint: they already had to bring Maryse back into it, just to add some sizzle to this Grand, Glorious, Epic, Legendary, Precedent-Shattering, Transcendent title run of Alicia Fox the Wedding Planner)

  6. @Prescott, chill out, people have different
    opinions. It isn’t that serious!!!!!

You don’t agree with their opinion. Who
cares? I don’t agree what you said
at all but Im not going to make a big deal out of it
    like you did.

  7. I agree with Prescott. I honestly don’t get the hype about Alicia at all. I think you guys are over rating her a bit.

  8. Alicia doesn’t really have a character, but something else that’s not helping her is how Maryse, her fellow heel, has a seemingly bigger role than ever on the show even without being Divas champion. Not only does Maryse have her angle with Ted DiBiase, but it seemed on Raw like WWE was building a heel vs. heel Alicia-Maryse angle rather than Eve/Alicia or Gail/Alicia.

  9. I was a pissed off as I watch Gail Kim losing.

  10. I missed it so I don’t know what’s going on. Alicia is coming along, I don’t think she’s all that either, but I do like her. She stands out in this current crop of divas. I think its safe to say that our standards have lowered considerably since the passing of the Golden Age of the Divas. We had to. Otherwise we wouldn’t enjoy watching them.

Personally , I gave up on one day seeing an era where the Divas would play larger roles like they used to. Gone are the days when Divas used to partake in the main events on RAW. No more major Wedding Storylines, no more love triangles, no more buildups to PPV matches. Atleast not like they used to. Nothing is as it used to be. John Cena for example, is a poor man’s Rock. Well that’s how I feel anyway. We had to learn to enjoy and appreciate these models who atleast try..we have to give them that. These are the days of the Candice Michelles, the Kelly Kellys and the Maryses. No more Lita, no more Trish Stratus and no more Mickie James.

With that said, I think ill go off into a local bar, listen to country and down some tequila shots! :p

  11. I’ve just seen the Raw match and I have to say Ms Foxxy was impressive. I think she has come a long way, since her debut. I really think that they need to push a Gail and Alicia fued, however that isn’t gonna happen. Alicia needs to get into some backstage segments now, so she can show a bit more of her personality.

  12. Gail was totally the MVP. The action kinda sucked until she got into the ring.

My problem with Alicia is that her mannerisms just seemed so forced and try-too-hard. It’s like she’s taking things from all the great bitchy heels of the past and is trying to put them altogether, but it just makes her look robotic and unconvincing. In contrast, you’ve got Maryse, who just needs to do the hand thing to get noticed. It’s a telling sign when Maryse does so little and garners a response, yet Alicia does everything she can and gets apathy.

And for what it’s worth, I’m not even that big on Maryse. For me she’s a toned down version of 2005 MNM Melina, which makes things look even worse.

  13. “If they can establish and plant seeds for a ‘heel romance’ between DiBiase and Maryse, it would perfectly set the stage for a credible and powerful stable with fan interest. Think of it as Edge and Lita for the cultured set.”

I’m not going to go as far to say that they could be the next Edge and Lita. Edge and Lita generated a different kind of heat from the audience. Real life heat from storyline that was a real life situation.

  14. To add to my post above:

The majority of the fans who attend WWE don’t read the internet, but the WWE went out of their way to make it look as candid as possible for those who don’t read the dirt sheets.

  15. i think the buffet table comment was Steven referring to when you guys said Tamina looked like a waitress in her attire lol

i agree with the bit about Naomi she’s really impressive and she looks so much better in her new attire, but the color was hideous

  16. We definitely were high on Alicia’s performance last night, but nobody is putting her in the Hall of Fame yet. I felt the team was energized by her performance and viewed it as a good sign for her future. For me personally, the thought process went like this, “huh, she looks like she is working hard tonight, loved that axe kick.” Sometimes it is nice to praise these workers and feel good about what they are trying to do.

  17. Great show! I think everyone was high on Alicia last night, and looking back I think her praise was well-deserved. Although her outfit was a tranny hot mess, I think her work was good. I’ve stated it in the past, but sometimes her selling and mannerisims are overindulged, and all over the place. Her timing in promos needs to be improved, and the sweat forehead thing needs to be fixed.Now.

  18. The show was great. I personally think Alicia is pretty good in the ring. That’s my opinion and i’m sticking to it. Also I can tell the Bellas apart. Besides the tat on Brie I also think Brie has a sweeter looking face than Nikki. Nikki looks like she is ready to cut a bitch lol.

  19. Ohiofan: That’s a bit of a generalization. Taylor does have fans. I’m one. I know others. She’s a great worker, fast paced, good skill set. Next time, remember you don’t speak for everyone. =P

“Edge and Lita for the cultured set”? If I was eating something when I read that, I would’ve choked. Please.

  20. Great show, Cryssi you are freakin hilarious!!

I have to disagree on one thing though, I don’t think the WWE thinks the divas are replaceable as you guys seem to.

Maria & Mickie were released for pursuing music when WWE wanted them to commit 100%. Savannah was released for messing up mic work. There are reasons, whether we like them or not…

I don’t think Melina or Beth are in any danger at all, they are probably the 2 divas with the most “job security” (Along with “Mrs Undetaker” Michelle McCool)
