The leader in womens wrestling today, Womens Superstars Uncensored (WSU) is proud to announce the signing of a WSU World Title match between WSU World Champion & former WWE Womens & Diva Champion Mickie James, as Mickie will challenge for the WSU World Championship on 8/7 at an ICW show in Queens, NY.
For fans interested, Mickie James will be meeting/greeting fans at the event, on behalf of ICW.
This is a major match for the state of womens professional wrestling. WSU World Champion, Mercedes Martinez, is currently the longest reigning & defending champion in all of womens wrestling today. She is arguably the greatest womens wrestler in the world today and holds the biggest prize in womens wrestling. The WSU World Championship is defended against top notch competition and defended regularly. With already 27 title defenses under her belt in her 18 month reign, Martinez has been a sheer unstoppable force, claiming victims such as Awesome Kong, Angelina Love, Angel Orsini, Nikki Roxx, Rain, Alicia, Portia Perez, Amber O’Neal & many more.

The last year with WWE really messed with her reputation with all those “she looks fat” “she is too sloppy” “she cant wrestle” comments on the internet. Going back to the indies will be good for her. People will hopefully regain their respect for her that they apparently started losing before the Piggie James thing even started.

Mickie James wrestling for a major independent Women’s title, that’s beyond awesome. Somebody better put this match youtube so everyone can see it or put it on DVD. Match is taking on August 7th and Mickie’s no compete clause will be, so they can put the match on DVD with no legal issues. theregoeskitty
Mickie never did wrestle in a hardcore while in the WWE but Mickie does have experience in hardcore matches. Check on youtube for “Alexis Laree vs. Colleen”, it’s from when Mickie wrestle as Alexis Laree while she was in Women’s Extreme Wrestling. The match was a hardcore match with garage cans, canes, and trash lids in a bar. I read up on Mercedes Martinez, she has a damn good resume and about the same amount of experience as Mickie; should a damn good match.

I really hope this comes out on DVD. This is a dream match for me.
As much as I like Mickie, I don’t see Mercedes dropping the title. But I bet these two will put on a very good match.

BTW, these have fought before..back around 2002..and haven’t fought since I believe…now 8 years later, they’re better wrestlers … it’ll be interesting to see them facing off now! Yay so xcited haha

I really hope this match will be put on youtube cause this sounds like it could be a really great match!! And people say Mickie’s lost her passion for wrestling, obviously she hasn’t if she’s doing all these shows for other promotions.

It probably will be, ICW released their last 2 shows on DVD, although i’m not 100% certain that this one will be as well. It’s usually 9 matches, of which only 1 womens match (usually with WSU wrestlers). The other matches are talent from the NY area. People familiar with early ROH (2002-2003) will probably recognize most of them, a lot of them are trained by Whipwreck or Homicide and appeared on the early ROH dvds.

i’m so excited for this, whilst 2010 has been a shit year for Divas & Knockouts, we know we can always rely on the good ol’ indies… Amazing Kong & Briscoe Brothers vs Sara Del Rey & Kings of Wrestling is definitely a match i am lookin’ forward to & also Jazz vs Mercedes Martinez/Mickie James (not sure if Jazz challenges her first, i guess she does)

And the best thing about indy wrestling is not only the wrestler got all out and wrestle the way they want to, They can also work on their other endeavors while taking booking. For Mickie, she can take indy bookings and still pursue her country music career. I mean Mschif does bio-chemistry, Lufisto edits porn, and (mostly on weekends) still travel out to wrestle their best out in the world. And girls like Mschif, Daizee Haze, Mercedes, Melissa, Del Rey, and others, don’t need WWE nor TNA to become a star in wrestling. Because they are stars in their own right, not by prancing around in bikinis and jokier gimmicks matches, but showing the world that they can get in the ring with the best, and keep the sport of pro-wresting alive in the women’s standpoint.

Ha! Mercedes has one of the most lethal chops in the business, man or woman. If you think they sound vicious on video, those sum bitches sound even worse in person. You’d start think welts will appear on your chest after a while. It’s really funny because when you are about to high five her as she walks by, you’d think her hands would be rough ass hell, but they are so soft.
