Women’s Champion, Layla will defend the title against Kelly Kelly at Money in the Bank in two weeks time it has been announced.
I believe it’ll be the first pay per view singles match for both Divas, so it’s going to be a big night for Layla and Kelly.
The two Divas are no strangers to each other. Both Divas’ careers began in the summer of 2006, coming up the ranks in ECW together as part of Extreme Exposé before feuding for nearly a year.
Money in the Bank airs on pay per view on Sunday, July 18th.

Oh god they really better not allow Kelly to win this title if so WWE really have fallen.

In 2006 they debut and in 2007 they had plenty of matches and I never thought today they would be in a singles match at a PPV, ecpecially for the Women’s Title!
And Layla is still heel and Kelly Kelly is still face like 3 years ago!
I predict Kelly will pin Layla and think she’s won the title while celebrating with Tiffany and then Michelle will get on the mic and tell Kelly she must beat both members of Lay-Cool to get the title. Then Michelle squashes Kelly for the win and all of Kelly’s fans cry bitter tears.
Seriously though, I see that happening and I think it would be awesome. I cannot see Kelly leaving this PPV with the title, especially when they’ve done nothing with Lay-Cool as co-champs and especially since this is Layla’s first title defense.
Then after that hopefully Melina returns to SD or AJ Lee debuts and feuds with Lay-Cool and someone with talent gets the belt because SD cannot afford to have someone like Kelly or Tiffany as champ when the competition pool is so shallow and when she only has like 1-2 women to learn off of. Women like Candice and Trish (when they were green and won the titles) at least had an influx of women to learn off of and compete with in the ring. Kelly doesn’t.
So with that said, GO LAY-COOL!
i really hope Kelly gets some training in before the PPV, i can’t see Layla losing the title just yet, but who knows what could happen

If she wins it, it will be worse than Candice winning the title b’cos Candice was actually getting really good in the ring until her injuries.
Kelly winning the title will bring the pretigous on the belt way down, problary more than the Diva’s title at the minute. It’s like a rookie winning the belt. Im not a huge Kelly fan but she does have some ok moves. But she seriously needs to open up her move set book and edit it with some differnet moves. honestly, i think she is getting a little stale, the crowd love her b’cos of the smiley personality and the blonde hair. I think this match will go for around 4/5 minutes & layla will win clean or michelle will help her win the match. If Kelly wins the title, i will litteraly scream my head off b’cos the creatives must be on crack or something.
Im not bringing Kelly down, im bringing the way that the creatives are pushing her as Smackdowns top babyface when infact i think they should bring someone who can wrestle really good such as Gail Kim & have her fight layla for the title. Now that would be a good match in my opinion.
If im thinking what the creatives are thinking then they are trying to buy time and streching this fued out until they can think of something cough*bring gail to smackdown*cough. If they want to stretch things out, what they should do is put a tag fued with blondtourage vs laycool for the womens title just like they did at TNA lockdown, whoever gets the pinfall or submission, will become the womens champ. i would have michelle win by throwing layla out & getting the pinfall herself then from there, have laycool slowly split & fued.
The WWE are in quite a pickle at the minute b’cos with mickie gone & beth & melina out & with both raw & smackdown’s DD’s sliding down hill, they will have to decide which of the 2 shows needs more help & by melina returning really soon, i think that they should send her to Smackdown & then on raw have eve fued with alicia first, then gail then have natalya & eventually, by this time, beth should be ready to return, so then have beth to Raw.

I really hope Kelly doesn’t win. I just think she would be boring as a champion,however I have a sneaky feeling that she will.

Who would have imagined that two members from Extreme Expose would face each other in an actual singles match in an actual pay-per-view for an actual WWE title. I’m not expecting much though, but I do hope that they deliver. I hope that Kelly brings something new for her first singles pay-per-view match.

Oh god please let Layla retain. This will be her first title defense i believe and she deserves the title unlike Smelly Kelly.
Hopefully either Layla wins by a clean win, Layla wins by a distraction from McCool to Layla, or Kelly Kelly wins… but by disqualification. Either way all of these lead to Layla retaining, I honestly cant see WWE giving Kelly the title, not with them so high on Lay-Cool together at the moment.
A match 4 years in the making(correct me if I’m wrong). I mean I don’t want Kelly to win the title, but I think I’m looking forward to this match. It’s going to show how each girl has improved from their ECW days. Man I hope the commentators stay on topic and maybe mention how long they’ve hated each other. I’m thinking wwe should do a promo to show how their furs developed because this is the longest fued in the divas division right now. Please Michelle stay out the ring give Layla a chance to shine. Probably not going to happen though.
i wouldn’t be surprised if michelle and layla somehow turn it into a handicap match. kelly could then perhaps pin mccool (after tiffany helps her somehow?), thinking she’s the new champion, but of course layla is the real title holder..
whatever happens, i do like how they’ve come pretty much full circle since their early days.

So, does this mean Layla is the official champ? This is so confusing, but I don’t care as long as Kelly doesn’t get the title. Either way, though, this match will be awful. Kelly can’t wrestle, and I really doubt Layla (as much as I love her) will be able to carry her.

It doesn’t matter who comes out victorious, because no one in the audience will win either way. I can’t believe they’re making people pay to see this… another reason why I’ll only watch indies.
Okay. I’ll give both Layla and Kelly credit where it is do. Both of them have come miles since they first feuded on ECW. They’ve greatly improved. I think Layla has really come into her own with LayCool in the past few months, and even though, I may be a little hard Kelly, I will admit that she has surprised me with her ability in the past–it’s not all just hurricanranas, flips, and jumping rope. But are they really ready to have a PPV match? And I currently feel like LayCool is on a roll here and that Kelly possibly beating Layla would hurt the group…unless WWE is planning on breaking them up. They sure do love to break apart tag teams.
On the other had, I am happy to see that there is a Diva’s match at the PPV. I’ll just cross my fingers that they put it get’s a good spot on the card and that it’s not awful.

Meh I don’t care if K2 or if Layla wins the match. Plus I don’t have a problem with Kelly winning the title. Layla has done nothing with it and by the time she defends it she will of had it above 60 days. Although if Layla keeps the title I won’t have a problem.

the divas championship is not for top divas in my opinion i feel like the belt is for the middle class if kelly was champ and gail was divas champ it will feel like kelly is much stronger than gail kim.

OMG, If Kelly Kelly wins the title, I’m going to launch a HUGE explanation as to how Alundra Blayze’s trashing of the Women’s Championship in 1995 is still relevant in 2010 (minus the details of how it caused the Montreal Screwjob).
P.S. I’m not defending Alundra for trashing the belt, just saying how it can be relevant to this day. We all know it wasn’t a smart move (even though it was Eric Bischoff’s idea). Sorry for going OT.

They are equal in WWE. You challenge for whichever title happens to be on your show. If WWE doesn’t consider you worthy of the Women’s title, then you aren’t going win the Divas title, either, and vice versa. Same goes for the WWE and World titles, the U.S. and Intercontinental titles, and the two tag team titles when they were seperate.

Kelly Kelly should be the Womens Champion. She is by far the most talented female wrestler in the WWE. The only way Layla can beat Kelly Kelly is to cheat and have help from Michelle Mccool. Hopefully, Kelly Kelly will be the womens champion soon!!
