@ChrisP – were we all watching the same segment? I thought they had really, really good chemistry.
Anyway. Loved the segment. Was great to see the three interact and by how touchy Maryse and Ted were being, they were starting to remind me a bit of Edge/Lita. Then when Ted made his comment, I swore that a face turn was coming up for Maryse – like Ted was going to kick her to the curb, or something. But, now I’m starting to think that they’re just going to keep her heel and possibly feud Maryse and Ted vs Jomo and Melina (now, that would be AWESOME, in my book)

I really do think Melina is going to SD! Eve is just getting over (granted she is still boring to me… come on Eve, Alicia has screwed you over not once but TWICE. Be FURIOUS) and having Melina return to Raw would just totally cut Eve’s legs out, plus SD! needs her more. In fact, after Teddy and JoMo finish up, I wouldn’t be surprised if they sent him (JoMo) back to Brand Blue too.
Maryse and Ted is still in the formative stages, hopefully WWE doesn’t screw it up.

Gail messed up? Are you insane. All Gaid did was was get in postion yet Alica couldn’t hit it. Plus if you ever seen Gail get to work an actual match and be allowed to show her skills you would know she doesn’t mess up

Yes, we did, and I thought it was terrible. I think a shorter segment with DiBiase and Morrison having a quick brawl without the pointless, unneceesary involvement of Maryse would have been better.

Apparently you didnt see clearly gail wasnt on point she didnt know the right position to get in and alicia was just waiting for her just re- watch the match and you’ll see where gail stuttered at the end.

Damn right. I think the comparison is insulting to Sherri, who could actually get heel heat and never tried to make herself the star over Randy Savage, the Million Dollar Man, or Shawn Michaels.
chrisP- Since it was Maryse’s involvement that cost Morrison the match, Maryse’s involvement made sense. The worst part of the segment was John trying to be funny. He isn’t Cena so the juvenile humor thing doesn’t work for him. He should stick to the artsy intellectual film student thing, it worked better for him.
Plus now we have Maryse’s definition of the relationship (“We love each other, blah blah blah”) and Ted’s (“The Million Dollar Couple is me and the briefcase”)

I said her presence was pointless, not non-sensical. And on top of it, it would have been better without her. Without her, that crappy exchange with her and Morrison wouldn’t have happened. DIBiase could have just rolled out of the way, and bam, no reason for Maryse to even be there.

You claim Maryse makes it harder for her co-workers but never seem to give proof such as a match where she wasn’t on commentary (because the guest commentators almost always take attention away from the match nowadays) that she took all the attention away.

Well, if it has sense to it, wouldn’t that make it have a point of happening? I think WWE was just trying to show that JoMo didn’t forget that it was Maryse who cost him the match, last week. And, idk, I’m glad that they’re using Maryse’s character in the segment, too instead of just having her stand on Ted’s side.
1 – For all the diss Maryse gets for “not doing moves”, why does Alicia get a free pass? At least Maryse can hit her best known finisher/move without it looking horrible. And yea, I heard the excuse about her OVW work.. Well, this ain’t OVW.
2 – Eve is boring. Either she is too nice to show intensity or she can’t act. Prolly both.
3 – Still not getting the buzz about The Wild Samoans 2010 vs The Hart Foundation 2010. It’s just 6 people doing with their Daddies did but without the importance or reaction.
4 – Maryse out-shined Teddy and Morrison tonight. I doubt that is what the WWE wanted. I still like the idea of the Maryse character, but man. Her presence is a bazillion times that of those two guys in that segment with her. She needs to hurry up and steal Teddy’s money and do her own thing. haha
5 – It’s been an okay Raw so far.

As of right now, I expect Maryse to outshine Ted and John… she’s the only one that has been doing something of note in the past few months. Now once this storyline is really set and Ted has an actual feud, not just the skeleton of one, and Maryse is still outshining the boys… then we may have a problem.

My problem with it is that Ted DIBiase would actually be better off without her due to Maryse’s lack of talent at this role. At best, it’s pointless because Maryse has no heel heat to pass onto him, and at worst, like her performance last week, she will end up making the guy into another Marc Mero, a guy who never recovered from the damage done by his valet overshadowing him.

Eve did guest commentary tonight. She didn’t distract from the match while still saying what she needed to say. Maryse seems to be incapable of this.
im happy the divas have two matches at the ppv but i think ill be a little happier when a divas match based on a feud not revolving around the title happens but for now this is great progress from the divas

I thought she did fine. She came off as a little shy and timid, but other than that, she did an okay job.
And actually, I really don’t find guest commentators to be distracting like Maryse last week. Most of the time, I think they do a good job of saying what they need to say while not taking anything anyway from the match.

I didn’t say anything about DiBiase not being over, which is true. I said that Maryse doesn’t have heel heat to pass onto him, which is kind of important if someone is a heel manager.
I don’t understand how people are so quick to point out Alicia’s sloppy delivery of her finisher after the fast paced entertaining match with Gail, and Eve not being angry enough after being “screwed” twice of the title by Alicia, never mind the fact that Eve knew before she entered that ring that the odds are against her since it was a was a fatal four way or on their rematch that she was ready to attack the champ and on a fighting stance before Alicia made her move. Then people praised Maryse when she can’t even do the cardinal rule of valeting: Elevate your guy without being a distraction.
And what was so important that Eve needed to be out there? NOTHING. Aside from having a match announced, which could have been done without her being out there, we could have not even been watching and guessed what she talked about. If we would have known about the match prior to Eve’s commentating, it would have been a different story. It also helped that the cameras stayed on the match more than on Eve, unlike with Maryse’s case when the camera always seemed to cut back to her, even when she was just sitting there.
Maryse was at the table to respond to allegations about her “relationship”… different circumstances. Could Maryse improve, yes. Is she horrible at her job, no. The problem is that I don’t think anyone has really defined what is going on exactly with them. Time will tell.
Maryse has actually valeted him only once (last week)–there are still kinks in the system to work out. Eve is doing something people have complained about many times before, not being convincing. Yes, Eve knew she was at a disadvantage at F4W, but Alicia pretty much took credit for Eve’s work and then cheated her out of her rematch by being a scumbag. Granted, Eve got some retribution, but until the match was announced at MITB, Eve should have been furious.
Tonight Maryse wasn’t distracting. Morrison’s bit with her was awkward, mainly because Johnny doesn’t do that kind of humor really well usually and it just wasn’t funny as it was.
I liked Alicia and Gail’s match. The axekick was off though. It blatantly hit Gail in the middle of her back.

Eve is an angle with Alicia and logically, she would have something to say about what happened to her last week. She spoke of it, yet didn’t distract from the match. Not completely ignoring Alicia was nice, too. Last week, Maryse called DiBiase
“handsome” and that was pretty much the extent of her putting him over.
And Maryse is horrible at her job because Ted DiBiase would be better off right now if he had no valet at all. The only trait of a terrible valet she hasn’t hit yet is that she that hasn’t screwed up or missed her cue on an interference spot.
How can you blame Gail for Alicia messing up? lol. All Gail did was get in her spot (which she did) Alicia totally fucked up that move by herself. As for Eve she seemed to be a littlle nervous but did just fine for doing commentary for the first time. I don’t get why people keep saying she looks too “calm” when she was yelling at Alicia after the match. I mean she shows aggression just not as much considering she FACE.
When it comes to the finish of the match, it was both girls fault. Just simple miscommunication between both girls. Instead of bitching and trying to lay the blame on one girl, actually watch it and realize that Gail was too close to Alicia for Alicia to build any momentum to get her leg up higher so she could strike her.
and @ebmich – Maryse’s DDT barely requires any effort out of her. Alicia’s does.
So Eve’s a face? Melina was a face too and she was not nearly as calm as Eve is in these situations. I think the big issue here is that while Maryse is new to her position, Eve has been in this position as the wronged face looking for revenge before and she still is lackluster in it. The week after Maryse returned, she had a tag match involving Melina. Melina went after her aggressively, they screamed at each other, tossed insults and got into it, how come Eve couldn’t do that with Alicia? Let’s look back at diva-dirt posters’ comments over the extent of the Maryse/Eve feud. One of the critiques that popped up consistently is that Maryse was more aggressive, Eve wasn’t giving attitude right back, etc.
She yelled at Alicia for a few seconds at the end of a match. Yay for her. Alicia showed more personality as champion in ONE NIGHT than Eve did in THREE MONTHS.
Maryse and Ted… I think it’s new, they are working at it, it has great potential
Eve… she has been in this situation before and her weaknesses are still apparent. Even more so since she’s had back to back feuds with women who exude attitude.
BTW: Maryse was not put with Ted because she herself has heel heat to give. She gets pops as it is. The idea was that because Ted is now young, hot, and rich his relationship with Maryse would be the cherry to top off why everyone should hate him. Notice, Ted gets a shiteating smirk on his face whenever Maryse doles out any PDA. And he was positively leering while checking out her butt during her hair flip. I think if Ted had a defendable title, it would help him out.
I love Maryse but when things she doesn’t like happens to her I think it’s so funny because of her reactions. Like, I totally thought “face turn” whenever Teddy said the Million Dollar Couple was him and the briefcase. They’re so cute together :) being all lovey but it’s weird she says they’re in love and he basically said the opposite lol. They have awesome chemistry. The way they were looking at each other sometimes, I really thought they were just gonna start making out right there lol.
I really do think Melina is coming back to Raw to be with JoMo and that they’re gonna feud with Ryse and Ted. BUT i’ve been wrong before. BTW, I love JoMo too, but he needs to stop trying to be funny. It’s not even funny when Cena tries it, so yeah.
I really don’t get why Eve was commentating. Maybe it was a way to build some kind of character in her but it didn’t work, for me anyway. I kinda thought she was getting annoying especially because she kept repeating things. Can I just say I’m super excited there is 2 Diva’s matches this Sunday! AND it’s not Divas who are always in championship matches and stuff. I really hope they pull off good matches :D
I don’t really have much to say about Tamina and Natalya. I’m sorta hoping for them to be involved with the outcome of the tag match Sunday though.
