Great Post-RAW Show. Here’s my opinion on RAW tonight.
Alicia vs Gail / Eve on commentary: I felt that the match served the purpose which was to make Alicia look strong. Eve was shaky on the commentary, but really does the WWE ever give Eve time to talk? I’m sure she will get better with more experience on the mic. The match itself was pretty good, anybody else notice that Gail got a rather good pop coming out tonight. The only part of the match that looked bad was Alicia’s finisher, I don’t know what it is, but it just didn’t look right on the TV. I felt that Eve has a reasonable point to get another shot, I mean technically Alicia didn’t “cheat”, but it was like another fluke per say, and plus I want to see these two go in a match that isn’t 1-2 minutes long. I wanna see if they can really put a match together.
Natalya/Tamina: I wish they got some time to wrestle, but I think their match was about 2 minutes long and they had to just throw them in which is sad. But I feel they did that because they were trying to push the title match this Sunday and wanted to focus on the men, not the women.
Maryse/Ted: That segment, whoever wrote it, sucks. John’s translation was not good, Maryse was excellent, and I like her taking this new manager approach.
Overall, pretty good RAW, obviously the matches could have been longer, but it did the purpose. Hopefully Gail gets a push starting next week.
Jordan I do kind of agree with you re: the axe kick…I love it, but the timing was a little off tonight and it looked like she hit Gail in the middle of the back. But she is so villent with the move I just stand up and cheer every time. Kind of like I do for the Glam Slam (shaking head, missing Beth…)
*violent* ugh…time for bed….
imo i like maryse in this role but when she was on smackdown i thought she was a good wrestler but when she went to raw she just went downhill but i think she will be able to pull this managers roll out really because she just has presence and the way she just acts it is amazing. but i am not looking forward to alicia and eve at the MITB because it is just to quick in throwing the match together
Haha David I probably just chuckled for a good 10 seconds. I love the move, it fits Alicia so well because of her height and how violent she is, but I think the timing just needs to be better.
Btw, I really enjoyed the Post-RAW Show, everyone was fun and entertaining to listen to. Jennifer when you said “Damn” I don’t know why, but you had me laughing.
Not to name any names but some of you sound really biased towards A. Fox. Anyways, She was (scripted) to fake an “injury” to win a match therefore she did “cheat”. I think Maryse has done the same thing before and people called it cheating lol but with Alicia its not? Come on!

A blog is biased? Shocking. How dare they!
yall keep complaining about how wwe only focuses more on Cena or another Male superstars i’m sorry wwe wouldn’t be as successful if the only focused on the diva’s i hate to say. WWE is all about marketing and getting this sponsor and that sponsor and most sponsors don’t look to a diva to promote their products.
I didn’t mind Eve on commentary. She was a little timid, but that’s nothing that can’t be fixed as she get more chances to speak.
I’m curious as to why WWE doesn’t think they can have Alicia Fox be both Divas champion and Ted DiBiase’s valet, especially if Melina returns to help John Morrison. I think that would be infinitely better, both for match quality and for DiBiase’s career, than using Maryse.
I just wanna say you guys are hilarious, great show :D
Gail needs to switch places with Eve @ MITB..just sayin :P
Maryse needs something to do, chrisP, hence the reason she is valeting.
I agree with the Post-Raw show crew about how Eve is getting this rematch. Because she was naive and got duped, she gets another title match? Faking an injury isn’t cheating, it’s being unsportsmen-like yes, but cheating? And then Eve didn’t help when she was like “I totally thought she was faking…” so you KNOW someone is faking and you run dead at them? First thing I would have thought would have been “okay, they are faking this and trying to get me to get so pissed I just run at them blindly. so, I’m just going to chill, especially as have this match in hand right now.” Eve should have just said something like “I didn’t really care if she was injured or not. She said she wanted to continue. Unfortunately I let my guard down and she capitalized. Good for her, but it says a lot when you have to resort to faking injuries to win.”
My scenario reminded me of heel Trish’s promo when she demanded a rematch with Lita in 2005 for the Women’s title. “You had to practically break your neck to beat me!”
Jennifer I agree with you they should have a female Money in the back match. I would love to see that. I hated Eve’s dress, I am just not a fun of hers. I predict that Alicia will win which will lead to a Gail fued. Melina will probably fued with Maryse as I reckon she will end managing JOMO. It will be a couple vs couple thing.
“Maryse needs something to do, chrisP, hence the reason she is valeting.”
WWE seems to believe that, but it’s really not true. They’d be able to move on just fine if they fired her tommorrow, so her missing Raws on occassion rather than finding any excuse to give her airtime wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Yeah Sherri Martell was ace as a manager, also Sharmell is pretty cool. I like her whole Ghetto fab image and attitude.
WWE would move on fine if they fired many of the people on the roster chrisP. They could fire Alicia tomorrow or Eve or Gail.
So much hate for Frenchie… tis sad.
Lmao, that was an insane edition of The Post Raw Show, Cryssi finished the show off in awesome style, you really made me laugh. Jennifer though is the comedy standout, you were amazing Jennifer. When you and David mentioned your grandmother, you totally came out with the harshest yet funniest reaction ever haha!
Onto RAW, this weeks show was ok for every part of it, although I hated the JoMo/Dibiase/Maryse segment. John Morrison’s jokes were shockingly bad, whoever wrote them needs to be future endeavoured. Randy’s RKO to Evan was amazing and I also liked the spot in the Gail/Alicia match when Alicia reversed Eat Defeat, looked like that hurt! Eve looked absolutely stunning on RAW aswell, I don’t care what dress she had on, she looked impressive haha.
Poor divas new divas the golden era divas they had street fights, hardcore match, steel cages, hell there was a elimination inter gender table tag match.
Melina better than Gail |facepalm|
Cyndi R – interesting comment about the differences between the men / women within WWE. You’re 100% right, the men need to be the focus of the promotion and get the majority of the air time, merchandize, etc. Our hope is that for the time the Divas are booked they are given smart storylines with interesting feuds. That is not too much to ask. I actually think RAW is moving in the right direction and has been consistent the past few weeks with the girls. I don’t think Alicia cheated last week, she was “smart” about faking the injury and Eve got “caught”. Oh well…at least it got us all talking!! :-)
I couldn’t agree anymore with Cryssi. The Miz is the most overrated person in wrestling. He does he get all of these pushes? He just doesn’t have the main event look for me. I can’t buy him as a world champion. As far as Raw goes, it was pretty good. While Eve sucked at commentary, the Alicia/Gail match was good imo. Plus we got a ppv match at of it, so I’m not complaining. I never have cared about the Hart Dynasty/Uso’s feud and still don’t. All I care about like most people here is Natalya and Tamina. Say what you will about Tna, but there tag team division rules with MCMG and Beer Money. I’m really liking the Maryse/Ted couple storyline. I totally agree with David, Maryse should only be a valet. She really does not need to be a wrestler because she is better than this. I really wish Velvet Sky would do the same because I think she would have better success. Maryse/Ted is personally my favorite couple since Glamarella. Although the ending sucked, I thought they were a great couple and very entertaining. I actually think this helped Beth’s career because this storyline showed me she can play a face too. She should have been the one to turn face at the end and not Santino. I like Beth as a face better just because she shows alot more personality.
The match was nice as usual , Alicia and Gail delivered a awesome match even if it was short..It made Alicia look stronger , and I said it b4 and I say it again Alicia to mw has been the most exciting and entertainig Divas Champ so far yes even more than my Mickie & Melina! Eve was kinda weak on commentary but what do u expect she hardly gets the mic , well expect for SD when she was a interviewer…btw eve looked more excited to get another divas title shot then she did when she win the divas title lol
“WWE would move on fine if they fired many of the people on the roster chrisP. They could fire Alicia tomorrow or Eve or Gail.

She’s not over as a heel and the babyface reaction from the crowd that she sometimes gets is very small yet given how rarely she isn’t used on Raw, she might as well be John Cena or Cena’s current rival.
So, no, it’s not hate. It’s just WWE thinking Maryse is way more important (especially compared to talent who are on her same level of signifcance to WWE that often get left off TV for weeks) and popular that she actually is and me wondering why.
We’ve all got our biases, thats the way humans are wired. And a lot of people like Maryse, for different reasons. She must be doing something right for the WWE to put her in high profile angles and keep her on her tv. For my money, there’s no such thing as too much Maryse. =X
“She must be doing something right for the WWE to put her in high profile angles and keep her on her tv.”
WWE clearly likes her. It’s just that, based on the minimal to non-existent crowd reactions, the audience doesn’t like her nearly as much as WWE does. Why WWE feels she has to be used every Raw as if she is one the top people in the entire company, female or male, is beyond me. She deserves no better treatment than any of the other Divas or any low-mid carder because she is no more important to WWE’s success than they are, regardless of how badly WWE wishes she was.
Crowds aren’t a good way of judging anyone’s real popularity. All the ‘E has to do is scan the web to see how popular Maryse is.
absolutely i dying for a good feud i would love for Eve or for the E to let Eve to come out her shell i love her look she is so exotic and i love her green eyes. Thanks for even taking the time to responding to my comment Mr.G
“Crowds aren’t a good way of judging anyone’s real popularity. All the ‘E has to do is scan the web to see how popular Maryse is.”
You’re joking, right? Online fans generally hate John Cena, yet he’s WWE’s biggest cash cow, bringing in millions of dollars from sales of his merchandise and getting incredible crowd reactions that only exist for Maryse in her dreams.
Depending on when a mid-card superstar or diva comes out on the show/card, the crowds reactions vary. Look at WM 18: you had Rock vs Hogan which zapped the crowd. Then you had a 3 way dance with Jazz vs Trish vs Lita, the latter two being insanely over with the crowds. But that match (which, as I recall, was pretty good) got barely any reaction, despite how popular Trish & Lita were. Because the prior match had drained the crowd. Sometimes, where a person is booked does make a difference.
Besides that, she may not get a huge response, but Maryse does get a reaction, heel or face.
“Besides that, she may not get a huge response, but Maryse does get a reaction, heel or face.”
In over two years, I can remember one time when she was actually booed on television.
The problem with the babyface reactions she gets is not only the fact that she’s an evil, bitchy heel but the fact that it’s a small reaction coming from very few people in the crowd, so it’s not as if the fans are just dying to cheer her and want her to turn.
I agree managing is a lost art in professional wrestling that needs to be revitalized. Much like Cryssi, I want to be a manager, except I don’t know how to become one. I really think I could be a good manager. I’ll admit I’m a bit shy but I think my weird and silly personality could get over well if I learn how to use it to become an effective manager.
We get it chrisp, you don’t like Maryse. But guess what? Some people do. Not everyone likes pizza, or chicken, or broccoli, or the color magenta. If we all liked the same things, the world would be boring. There is no use in raining on someone’s parade simply because you don’t like the same person they do.
I’m sure whatever diva/knockout you like has people who dislike them.
