A lot of fans, myself included, were absolutely horrified at the hot mess that was the Victory Road pay-per-view. The Knockouts match had one shit-tastic ending and I don’t know about you, but I made the decision then and there to write TNA off. It’s hard enough to watch it these days anyway, but when you end a title match in such a ridiculous fashion, it’s enough to turn a fan off for good. Fortunately, my Diva Dirt duties require me to watch the KO action every Thursday and wow! I’m super glad I had to do just that this week. In addition to a pretty good match, we got a massive segment featuring the new champ, the Beautiful People, and that not so mysterious mystery biker chick. I know it’s probably hard for all of y’all to fathom that Impact was actually a good watch, but believe me it is. I even double checked it myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. The proof lies within the confines of this Write-Up so stop wasting your time reading this pointless introduction and watch the videos!

The Knockouts waste no time getting down to business tonight. Sarita and Taylor Wilde are shown backstage, and according to Taz, the ladies are scheduled to meet in a street fight later on tonight. It seems like both girls have decided to start the match early, because Sarita slams Taylor into one of the backstage walls. The fight is on and Sarita is basically dominating it. She’s screaming at Taylor that she’s finally getting rid of the dead weight, and that now, everything is going to be about her. Taylor takes several stiff shots, but she fights back hard. She gets Sarita down and begins to punch and choke her. Sarita is back up soon enough and the fight spills into another part of the backstage area. Sarita throws Taylor into several walls, and eventually Taylor is able to muscle Sarita off of her. The ex-Knockouts Champ throws Sarita into a door and takes off. She’s seemingly searching for some type of weapon, but comes away empty-handed. That brings Taylor back to a waiting Sarita. The sexy brunette takes her turn bouncing off the wall, and then gets knocked into a piece of equipment. While Sarita is doubled over, Taylor starts to beat on her. Sarita is able to gain the advantage back and she starts telling Taylor that she has always been better than her, and that everyone knows it. Taylor is thrown into a piece of backstage furniture, and then kicked down to the ground.
Taylor bounces back up and grabs a steel pipe, which she swings wildly. Sarita, thankfully, ducks and the pipe slams into the wall above Sarita’s head. Sarita gets up and kicks Taylor away, but the blonde grabs a chair and starts to smack her former tag team partner with it. Sarita is momentarily stopped by this, but it doesn’t last long. She overpowers Taylor and throws her into the photo shoot area. Taylor has her head slammed into the ground and Sarita gets down with her. She finally locks Taylor into a submission move and starts bitching at her some more.
So of course Impact goes to commercial break.
Upon it’s return, the fight between Taylor and Sarita has made it’s way into the Impact Zone. In TNA land, that makes the match official. Taylor whips Sarita into the stands, then follows it up by grabbing Sarita by the hair and running towards the ring. The momentum carries both women and Sarita ends up flipping out of the audience and landing right in front of the ring. Taylor goes looking for a chair and once she gets her hands on it, she slams it into the ground. Sarita comes flying at her, but Taylor is ready. Sarita ends up taking an absolutely vicious chair shot to the skull and she’s obviously down at the present time. Taylor shows no mercy and gets right up in Sarita’s face. She tells her off and rightfully so. But Sarita is crafty and she reaches under the ring and produces a bottle of water. The bottle of water ends up drenching Taylor, as well as the fans in the front row, and because it got in her eyes, Taylor starts to stumble around. Sarita scurries underneath the ring and when Taylor finally regains her focus, she’s unable to locate her former best friend.
The crowd attempts to help Taylor, but she’s either deaf or ignoring them. She runs around trying to find Sarita, unaware that Sarita has come out from underneath the ring. Sarita stalks her pray, then attacks Taylor from behind. She ends up on the ground and on the receiving end of a pretty decent beating. She’s eventually able to fight back and she begins to wail on Sarita. Sarita fights back and finally takes two handfuls of hair and drives Taylor’s face into the ring steps. Sarita uses the free time she’s created for herself to heckle the crowd and Taylor, and pull up the mat that surrounds the ring. With the concrete exposed, the fight has taken a dangerous turn and Taylor is now fighting back against Sarita for all that she’s worth. Both women take each other down to the ground, but it’s Sarita that’s able to get up first and she brings her opponent up with her. She places Taylor in a position to be slammed into the concrete, but Taylor is able to reverse and brings Sarita down with what appears to be a modified neckbreaker.
Taylor plays to the crowd and they sort of rally behind her. She charges at Sarita and nails her with a knee to the gut. After that, Sarita is forced to eat a face full of the ring apron. Sarita attempts to crawl into the ring a few times, but each time, Taylor pulls her down and chops her without mercy. Sarita finally nails Taylor in the stomach with her boot and this time she successfully stands on the apron. She runs and flies off at almost the same time Taylor picks up a chair and tosses it in the air. Sarita’s body collides with the steel of the chair and she crumples to the ground in an immense amount of pain. Taylor brings Sarita up by the hair and whips her forward into the ring post. To make matters worse, Sarita finds her lower back crushed into the guardrail and eventually she flies over the top of it and into the crowd thanks to a Taylor Wilde dropkick.
Sarita is somehow able to find the inner strength to pick herself up and in the process, she jacks some fan’s purse. When Taylor lumbers towards her, Sarita uses the purse strap to choke her former friend and eventually Taylor ends up hanging there and passing out. The referee calls for the bell and the victory is awarded to Sarita. The crowd is not thrilled with this, but Sarita is and she celebrates like she just won the World Cup!

The Knockout action isn’t over either because later on that night, Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich are seen standing in their locker room. Velvet is absolutely livid over something and Lacey is trying to tell her to calm down. Her words fall on deaf ears because Velvet slams some things around in her locker, checks her hair and make-up in the tag team belt, and then gets up in Lacey’s face. She says she will not calm down because Madison, more or less, has been getting out of hand. She doesn’t appreciate the fact that Madison has been all high and mighty lately, and acting like Velvet and Lacey don’t even exist. Further more, Velvet claims that she is furious over the fact that Madison had the gall to bring a fourth person into their group without even consulting them. Lacey, the voice of reason, tells Velvet that they need to listen to Madison’s side of the story because they have been with her forever and they at least owe her that much. Velvet scoffs and says that she will listen to Madison’s side of the story, sure, but when Madison is done, Velvet plans on adding an exclamation point to it. She asks Lacey if she wants to know what that exclamation point is and Lacey gets excited and says yes, of course she does. Velvet screams that it’s going to be her foot right up Madison’s ass and Lacey’s face falls. She knew better than to ask that. Velvet storms off and Lacey trails behind her. Impact cuts away from the Knockouts and eventually goes to commercial break.
When it comes back, former Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne is standing in the ring dressed in street clothes with a microphone in her hand. Madison says that she is out here in the ring to formally protest the decision made by referee Andrew Thomas at Victory Road this past Sunday. She says he stripped her of her Knockouts title. Madison says that the stipulation clearly stated that if either member of the Beautiful People, as in Velvet or Lacey, interfered on her behalf then she would be disqualified and Angelina would become the new champion. Madison pauses before screaming that that didn’t happen. She says that TNA has seven days from right now to reverse the decision and award her back the Knockouts Championship or she would sue TNA for every penny that it was worth (not much, Mad).
The Beautiful People’s music hits and Velvet and Lacey make their way down to the ring. Velvet is already screaming at Madison, and Lacey just looks upset. Velvet grabs a microphone and she basically has a mental breakdown. She gets right up in Madison’s face and demands to know what the hell Madison was thinking by bringing in a new member without their approval. Madison turns her face away, but Velvet jerks it back towards her eliciting gasps from the crowd. Madison screams at Velvet to relax and then tells her that she’s been taking her dumb blonde pills again. Madison, who looks so super short compared to Velvet and Lacey in this segment, says she did what she had to do in order to keep her title. Velvet fires back that Madison must have overdosed on her dumb blonde pills because this is about more than just Madison refusing to consult with the other Beautiful People. Velvet said the bigger picture is about the fact that Madison said she didn’t need the other girls anymore. Velvet wants her to explain that.
Madison gets a snarky look on her face and starts to talk in a valley girl voice. She says that she doesn’t need the Beautiful People and she slams her finger in Velvet’s chest while saying it. Then, in a sugary sweet voice no less, she tells Velvet to pick any of those words and Madison will explain their meaning to her. Lacey looks like she is about to cry at this point and Velvet brushes off the spot where Madison just jabbed her like it was now diseased. Velvet steps back and says it’s fine that Madison doesn’t need her. And since Madison doesn’t need her, how about she just kicks Madison’s ass all over the ring. The fans erupt and Lacey steps in the middle of Madison and Velvet, who are both ready to fight. While they’re arguing, new Knockouts Champion, Angelina Love, comes out to the ring. She looks highly amused by the turn of events and who can blame her?
Angelina has a microphone and she says she doesn’t really know what’s worse; the bitches who act on The Hills or the bitches who are acting in the ring. All three BP members turn to stare at her and if looks could kill, Angelina would have died right then and there. Angelina says that Kim Kardashian is basically an Oscar winner compared to the three Beautiful People. Angelina turns her attention to Velvet and says that she isn’t buying the lies that Velvet has been spinning. Angelina says she knows it was Velvet riding that motorcycle because she would know those big fake boobs anywhere. Velvet is in disbelief that Angelina actually thinks it was her on that bike. She says that she has never been so insulted in her entire life than right now and asks everyone if they happened to see the dumpy ass on that person. Velvet sticks her ass out and motions to it, and says that clearly it wasn’t her. Velvet then throws her hands up and says that it’s fine if people want to believe that it’s her. She points at Madison and tells Angelina that the bitch is hers and gets out of the ring. Lacey isn’t sure what to do at this point, so she finally follows Velvet. Velvet stops in front of Angelina and the two have a heated staredown. Velvet tells Angelina to get her butt in the ring and take care of business and then she disappears backstage. Lacey has paused and is looking between Madison and Velvet, not sure what to do. Angelina stares her down as well and makes her way to the ring.
Madison starts screaming at Angelina to get in the ring and give her back her title. Angelina takes her time and then adds insult to injury by mocking her former friend. Madison starts screeching into the microphone and Angelina tells her that if she wants it so bad, she can just come and take it. Madison lashes out and strikes at Angelina, which catches the champ off guard. Madison stands her ground and tells Angelina to give her the belt back right now. Angelina replies with a spear. She begins beating the hell out of Madison! Madison is full of fight tonight and she gives it back as good as she gets it. The two girls are rolling around in the ring exchanging some wicked looking shots when the mystery woman comes out on her bike. The camera shows Lacey, who is standing there like a pretty little picture looking shocked and confused. The mystery woman gets off her motorcycle and goes into the ring. She picks up Angelina and throws her off Madison. Madison takes off out of the ring and the mystery woman throws Angelina into the corner and starts to choke her. Madison returns with a chair and lays it out all nice and neat. She tells the woman to give her Angelina, and Madison drags her enemy over towards the chair. Angelina ends up planted on the chair via a DDT, and the camera gets a close-up of Lacey’s wide-eyed terror. Madison and the mystery woman exit the ring and ride off together on the bike for the second time in a row.
At least we know now it’s definitely not a Beautiful Person.
The Good: For once, there’s a lot to write in this section and I’m really excited by that! Impact kicked off in great fashion for the Knockouts with the backstage brawl featuring Sarita and Taylor. Like many, I’m baffled as to why TNA seems to be dissolving the KO tag team division but it’s led to increased television time for Sarita and Taylor. Their backstage brawl and fight into the Impact Zone was pretty good. I loved that Sarita ended the match by choking out Taylor with some fan’s purse strap. If I had been that fan, I would have been pissed. But that’s because I carry a Coach purse and it doesn’t have straps, it has handles. But still. I loved that it was a blatant shot at the ‘E, especially when Taz chimed in that in other companies, people get fired for choking an opponent. It was great. Taylor looked completely destroyed at the end and it’s so, so great to see Sarita get this kind of airtime and push. I love her as a heel and this street fight was pretty darn good. I think some spots were slow and sloppy, but overall it was a great match by both ladies. I can’t wait to see them both go at it in an actual wrestling match and here’s hoping it gets a huge build.
The backstage segment between Lacey and Velvet was just a joy to watch. I don’t hide the fact I’m a converted Lacey mark and she just lit my world up on this particular day. She looked stunning on camera and the fact she’s the one stuck in the middle of this feud makes my heart skip a beat. Who doesn’t want to see a Beautiful People custody battle for Lacey? She did her best to calm Velvet down, but like usual, Velvet was wound up and didn’t want to hear it. She got in Lacey’s face and basically declared Madison as public enemy number one. When she shouted that Madison was going to get up with Velvet’s foot up her ass, I cheered! This is vintage Knockout action! (Yeah, I went there.) When Velvet stormed off, poor Lacey had no other choice but to follow.
That led to one of the more memorable Knockout segments in recent memory. Madison took to the ring to demand that TNA reinstate her championship reign. She ripped them a new one and threatened to sue the company. Velvet and Lacey finally made their way to the ring and Velvet turned the tables on Madison and ripped her a new one. What Velvet lacks in ring skills, she makes up for in promo cutting ability. The girl is great on the mic and her acting skills are amazing. I really did feel her anger last night. Madison stepped up her game too. She’s come into her own during this push of hers and it’s been nice to see a new Knockout develop into a major player. Once again, Lacey stood out to me because she had to stand there and listen to this. These are her two best friends in the entire world and the hurt written across her face during the segment was just impeccable. I loved every bit of this.
Angelina’s amusement over the BP in-fighting was spot on. Why would she not love it? These girls kicked her to the curb and washed their hands of her. It’s karmatic justice for Angelina Love to sit back and enjoy the slow destruction of the Beautiful People, one member at a time. We all knew their egos would end up getting the better of them one day. And that finally happened last night. It was brilliant and for the first time in a long time, I’m looking forward to Impact next week. Can you believe this is so upbeat and happy? I can’t! Man, I don’t know what to do right now. I’m not going to question TNA’s booking staff or writers this week. I’m totally gunna brush off the fact that I’m still bothered by Tara aligning with Madison. We all know it’s Tara. Come on now! I’m just going to go with it and maybe, just maybe I will allow myself to have a small, minuscule amount of hope that this type of KO coverage continues.
Come on, JBL Wrestling God! Don’t let me down.

great write up cryssi, i loved this weeks show, the knockouts match and scripting were really good.
OMG finally a good Impact for the knockouts this week. Hogan and Bischoff should stay as far away from Impact as possible because when they are present, the show just sucks. I have to mention the ending of Impact because I thought it was awesome as well. The street fight was fun and entertaining and the RIGHT person won imo. Taylor already had her push and it failed so give somebody else a try. I wasn’t sure about Sarita playing a heel at first, but now I can buy it. She has so much character when she is playing a heel. I also thought TBP/Love segment was well done. Everyone got their time and it made sense this time. I’m really impressed with Madison as of late with her mic skills. At first, I thought she can only play underdog babyface and nothing more. She is alot more comfortable now playing the heel now compared to when she first debuted. Velvet was Velvet as she has the best mic skills overall in Tna.
That segment with the beautiful people must have been one of the best for the KO’s this weeks TNA is a big boost – up compared to the others.
Impact was on point , I ddnt really believe in the Sarita , Taylor backstage segement it just ddnt look real to me but the match was so good , hopefully we can get a hardcore or a ladder match at the nxt PPv 4 these 2…
Velvet Sky I never said this b4 but I absoutely adore her attidude , and I hope I get 2 see Velvet Kick Madison’s ass lmao….I kinda dnt want Velevt to turn face if she is , i rather her b on her own doing her own thing building her wat towards the Knockouts Championship… Lacey eh…she is ookay she is fine where she is….
Angelina looked HOTT as always !!!
And come on we all know its Tara stop doing this mystery women crap no one cares ne more b cuz we all know who it is
Oh yeah it would be so funny so so funny if it wasnt Tara even though we know it is but wat if it wasnt lmao….funny that would b a big laugh 4 Diva-Dirt
This weeks action had me so stoked! I loved the brawl between Taylor and Sarita they both showed so much aggression and I hope their feud accumulates to a PPV match between the two (I can dream.)
The segment between TBP v2 and Angelina was really good. Velvet is so awesome on the mic! Madison has improved leaps and bounds in that department also! Lacey genuinely looked concerned and upset so I give her props for that too.
As for the biker chick I’ll just copy and paste what I said on another topic: I really hope it is not Tara. She’s had her share of the spotlight, sure she is real good in the ring and can put on some awesome matches but at the same time most her matches have been rather lackluster. As for other possibilities, Christy Hemme comes to mind. She can ride bikes and while she has retired from in ring action, she could just be a manager who gets involved in Madison’s matches to help her retain the gold.
I think at this point, however, it is very obviously Tara. I am hoping that TNA throws a curve-ball at us and it turns out to be somebody else.
Great write-up Cryssi, but you forgot the ugly which was Taylor’s outfit this week. I know nothing about women’s fashion but she looked horrible lol.
I have to say aswell that I am glad Sarita and Taylor are getting TV time out of their break-up and so far, the build has been great. The TBP thing is getting a little more interesting aswell thanks to some great acting, but I hope they can move onto a new fued soon as Angelina vs TBP for no reason is stale now.
YES YES YES!!! finally a good TNA show!!! The knockouts action was awesome and reminded me of the good ol days! lol The entire show in general was really good this time around. I think Hogan and Bischoff need to stay away for good. When they are gone the show is awesome!! Glad to see the biker chick is actually Tara. After seeing her in the ring last night it was obvious and apparent who it was. No more debate on that subject! lol
This weeks Knockout action was freakin awesome. Every little bit was amazing and i haven’t seen this kind of stuff in years. I wish WWE could do something like this…obviously not the street fight and cussing but two good segments revolving around two different feuds on the same show. On top of that the storylines actually progressed.
Where has this TNA been?
Best Impact in AWHILE
naww but really what a great nite
i really wanna see Angelina team up with Velvet that would be epic!
really enjoyed impact as a whole last night. even the stuff between miss tessmacher and nash was great.. didn’t think i’d ever be saying that, haha.
everybody played their roles perfectly during the promo. even lacey who didn’t really speak much at all.. she’s got quite the range of facial expressions, it’s nice. angelina has always been nothing short of perfection.. “aww baby wants her belt back” was an awesome line.. and yep, agreed, what velvet does indeed lack in the ring, she brings to the table of promos.
the backstage portion of the street fight did feel a little too rehearsed, but it was good nevertheless.. it definitely stepped up a gear or two when they made it to ringside. as ohiofan1 says, i too wasn’t sure of a heel sarita as she’s always been a bit too flashy (even attire wise!) to be a convincing bad girl.. but she played the part well last night.
being a spiler reader, i’m really looking forward to next week… hopefully tna keep at it when the next round of tapings swing round.
This is the best Knock Outs action in MONTHS!! I loved Taylor vs Sarita. I have to admit that I was scepticle of a Sarita heel turn. I never thought that she would make a convincing heel. Man, was I wrong! And TBP are actually interesting again! Hopefully TNA keeps this up.
Sarita might be getting fired soon for choking Taylor Wilde.. oh wait, TNA doesnt have that dumb rule
holy crap holy crap this is awesome i? love Sarita i hope she captures the title soon comeone TNA she can have a 3 way feud with madison and Angelina btw this action is very good the best in all this year keep this coming! We want more of this
sarita would beat the living hell outta hald the diva roster lmao at Sarita getting the ladies bag and choking Taylor saying” I don’t Care!” “you can’t make me and she’s very over the crowd the crowd loves to hate her now that’s a perfect heel something the (other company) lacks lmao ?
TNATNA make sarita top heel and KO CHAMPION!
and for Angelina and TBP my god one of the best promos of the decade i don’t care if anyone says i’m exagerrating! they all payed ther parts the crwod was into it and Madison get over with alot of Heat that so good she’s a great heel Lacey looks pretty (just the need o say it) her trying to calm things and yep we know its Tara
Good night for the ko’s. Man is Velvet funny Madinson isint to bad herself. The street fight was also well done. Wouldn’t it be funny if the biker chick was Hamada.
great week for the knockouts! The sarita and taylor feud is building up very nicely.
As much as I hate the beautiful people..they did amazing! they are all so comfortable on the mic and actually show emotion. divas…take some damn notice :P
throwing in the towel, huh? I don’t blame you. It’s a hard labor of love, sometimes, though if you do the math you can tell that even WWE has taken pages, sometimes whole chapters, from TNA in terms of the women’s division. The demographic crossover potential, the “my girlfriend is okay watching it too…” factor, is tremendous and a great, even simple place to expand business these days. People want that image and swagger to augment the heavy wrestling in a show like Impact, and the women’s division is a natural source like no other.
Street Fight: Man, wasn’t it suprising? They had hit on something with the Sarita/Taylor thing even before tonight, and it just proved again, fans want action out of the ordinary and they want it to not be PG. A couple of little-investment, high-potential Knockouts, practically no engrained storyline except being partners in some vague squash match you don’t remember, put together for an impromptu brawl. Hooking the crowd a bit? Check. Seeing contrasts with a determined face going hardcore for pops? Check. They’ll be back in random formulaic bathroom matches in under 3 weeks? Check.
Chelsea: I think the clock is ticking down on this one. Her “Fortune,” as it were, was Desmond Wolfe’s fortune. I don’t agree with the depushing of Nigel, though I do think they got cold feet after realizing their fan voting system got banged by auto-voters from a UK public used to spamming it up with internet and fan votes for shows like “Big Brother.” In fact, local pops were orienting Wolfe where he should be, maybe halfway between where he dropped to now and where he was during the odd Chelsea storyline, so they went with that. All after the ill-conceived turn on Wolfe for Abyss, Chelsea now seems less believable and too much a caricature. Since she was an ideal fit with Wolfe, I don’t see an immediate fix there. Nothing other than to just ride it out and have her attitude and hotness be a very background item for Wolfe while he pays dues with interest.
Miss Tessmacher: I’m just scared at this one. Even more scared that anyone likes her, with that name, bad acting, rather pointless spot given the shambles the wrestling roster is, and ultimately corny if they tie her into the division. So Big Sexy comes by, I wonder what he wants, etc etc. Very cheeseball and even Nash looked a bit embarassed, they ran a better angle with Torrie Wilson and that was pretty bad too (“Samantha!”). If Brooke can work, repackage her and let her pay dues in the division, plain and simple. It’s a classic mentality because it works. There is a hierarchy alive in the fans’ heads… who is number one… who has paid their dues… etc. Paying homage to that will get you places because fans feel more practically encouraged to cheer (and spend) on their favorites. Screwing with it too much turns fans off because they feel like they had little say in how the hierarchy developed.
Posting now while I look at something again…
Crazy good Knockouts action this week. This is all stuff that wouldn’t have been out of place in 08-09. Didn’t expect it at all given what Hogan & Bischoff have done to the division.
for anyone who hasn’t seen it, this week’s xplosion feat. sarita vs taylor has been upped to youtube. just search for “TNA Xplosion 7/14/10″
Favorite new Diva: Abyss’ girlfriend. I thought this was hilarious. It was actually pretty nice writing, in the direction I would rather them go, when Abyss was describing his girl. He was into it in a sick way that conveyed heel while using words like sweet, sexy and so forth, that’s how you do it. There are new people holding the pen these days, or at least being involved with Creative, and they did a pretty nice job with this one. I would like to see Diva-Dirt do a full profile and that Project runway thing, on Janice. What? That would be stupid? Hey, you don’t want to make Janice angry… she has a way of sticking with you, right in the pit of your stomach. Like a heartache that won’t go away. A girl that always has your back, and parts of her just stick with you even when you break up with her. (etc etc, it’s fun.) It’s an ironic nod too because the Knockouts actually once popped the best business in TNA…and they want to try a new, more risky type of approach there and who better than Abyss with dues and TNA-identification and sheer craziness to lead the way. They should be careful, Janice could go over Faceheel, like the Wedding Planner who can’t help spiking the punch!
Angelina/Madison/Velvet: Mixed reviews on this one. A lot of streams got crossed, and it may have dragged for your average fan. It’s a shame too, because this was maybe one of the big crux points for paying off this feud, one that represents what was a prime Cornerstone of TNA’s success with the knockouts. Madison sounded a bit more screeching, no? I’m not seeing her get the nuance of how TBP was pulling heel before, style mixed in, and often looking silly while acting like nothing happened, it was a commitment to the character. I really enjoyed seeing Velvet/LVE come out to the TBP entrance with Madison in the ring, the catty back and forth was alright, though Velvet really needs to be more secure and just let it rip a bit more. “Let her go,” as it were. She seemed tripped by timing a few places where they should have had that go more natural, less scripted and then use edits to clean it up since they’re not even live. LVE in the middle was unconvincing, though it’s basically Velvet’s story to attempt and remake. They were apparently sitting on her pending the contract, so now with it signed, they’re free to test more, push teh envelope, move outside her comfort zones more to see if this engine runs. Comparable to the Kelly Kelly push. It’s now or never. Angelina came out and did her thing, though I think the clustered back-and-forth mic format is really indicative of how this had the potential to be a longer, better storyline and is instead reduced to some shrieking back and forth from the ramp to the ring. I always say, if _that’s_ where your major plot points were figured out, something went wrong. The brawl wasn’t bad, though it was a tough contrast to the Sarita/Taylor all-out war by comparison. It needed a more TBP touch, something more personally insulting. Like the touch of having TBP tie Awesome Kong’s hair braids to the cage in order to win, booking that conveys character and tells a story. That’s why I’m not really that big on Angelina being face, Madison being your main heel, or this Miss Tessmacher thing. I don’t think it plays up the right strengths in a time where the time commitments to Knockouts are varied and in question. In a short-inning game, you use your best pitchers and tell them to throw strikes.
This was probably my favorite Impact of the entire year.
The Sarita/Taylor Wilde street fight was great, when it was in the zone. Backstage it was a little too staged and wasn’t all that convincing, but once it spilled out to the ring it got badass. I’m totally convinced with Sarita as a heel and I would absolutely LOVE a Sarita push. Taylor is meh, she’s good for someone like Sarita to beat on and that’s…pretty much all I really care about her.
Loved the interaction between The Beautiful People and Angelina Love. When Velvet snapped Madison’s head back towards her my jaw literally dropped. That was probably the best thing I’ve ever seen lol. I’m really liking where this is all heading. Kudos TNA!
This breaking up of all the teams could actually make the Women’s Division. Clearly Madison could become a tag team with this mystery Knockout (Tara), Velvet and Angelina could get back together and Lacey could skip off and join Rosie Lottalove. There’s a tag team division. Sarita or Taylor could snatch the Knockouts Championship and then they could feud with each other and the likes of Daffney and Hamada. Welcome back TNA Knockouts Division.
I don’t like Taylor or Sarita but the beautiful people segment was awesome all of them looked hot and I wish Velvet and Madison fought! XD I just hope the beautiful people isn’t over. Oh and I felt so bad for Lacey she is my favorite out of all of them but she looked so hot! :D
Yeah the Knockout’s were booked on-point for the Pre-Taped Impact last night. They damn sure deserved it after the pathetic booking from Victory Road. Sara Stock aka Sarita and Shantelle Taylor aka Taylor Wilde were booked in a good streetfight. The backlash is this match should’ve been booked for the Hard Justice PPV. That was a PPV Caliber Match that was given away for free. So where does TNA Creative go from here with this feud ? How do Sarita and Taylor Out Top this StreetFight ? At Hard Justice what type of match do you book these ladies in ? A Steel Cage Match ? A Falls Count Anywhere Match ? A First Blood Match ? A Last Woman Standing Match ? A TLC Match ? Like always TNA Management can’t see the big picture. This match would’ve helped draw more people to buy Hard Justice.
Good Segment with the Fall-Out of the Beautiful People and the continuation of Angelina Love vs Madison Rayne over the Knockout’s Title. So are we going to get a reunion of the Original Beautiful People Angelina Love and Velvet Sky as babyfaces this time ? At Hard Justice will it be a Fatal Four Way Match for the Knockout’s Title – Madison Rayne vs Angelina Love vs Velvet Sky vs Lacey Von Erich and it’s swerve city with a 4 on 1 beatdown of Angelina Love and Velvet Sky was in on the ruse all along ? Where does Lisa Marie Varon aka Tara aka Mystery Biker Chick fit in with all of this and how will she be booked ? Does she stay as Madison Rayne’s Back-Up aka Bodyguard ? Or is she playing Madison for a Fool ? Meaning she helps Madison hold on to the Knockout’s Title by Eliminating her Competition, so when the time is right she can catch Madison Rayne off guard and recapture the Knockout’s Title for the 4th Time and avenge for loss to Madison Rayne at Sacrifice.
If there’s No Original Beautiful People reunion and we are seeing the official dimise of the group where does that leave Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich ?
Personally if pushed and booked right I think Talia Madison aka Velvet Sky would make a great Knockout’s Champion. One of the Best at cutting promos in TNA if not the best. Everyone has been down on Velvet for not being a good in-ring performer, but is this really her fault ? TNA Creative decides who gets put over and pushed and who is going to do the job and be used as enhancement talent. TNA Creative are the ones that have booked Velvet Sky as mostly an enhancement talent and there for she hasn’t been given the opportunity to showcase her full potential. I’ve seen a lot of her indy work before she came to TNA and she can definately put on a great match if she’s booked to do so. With her signing an extension with TNA maybe she will get her chance to shine on her own and shut a lot of haters up.
Lacey Von Erich should definately be a babyface . Still green but if she really has the passion and love for the business she’ll do what it takes to perfect her in-ring and promo skills and carry on the Von Erich wrestling tradition and name.
Didn’t care much the hardcore match. Seemed that forced cliche of “We were best friends and now I hate you!” Yawn, baby. Yawn. Another thing, it is just me or does Taz not like the Knockouts? When Sarita came from under the ring, he could not have cared any less. And that was a big spot in the match. lol
Lacey needs to be face. She is just so dang likeable that it really doesn’t matter how bad she is in the ring. She is a great promo and does spots in tag matches really well.
Overall, I think the promo proved why the Knockouts “were better than the Divas two years ago” like people are complaining. It wasn’t because they put on some bazillion star match. It was because we remembered each one and what she brought to the segment.
I never wanted to be Brooke is bad before that promo. Kevin Nash is still Big Sexy even at 51. haha
Having two Knockout angles running at once would be a positive change of pace. Last night was one of the best Impacts this year.
i love how TNA gave the KO the “set-up” for the Daniel Bryan choking joke. loove it.
“it is just me or does Taz not like the Knockouts? ”
my respect for taz has gone way downhill since he came to tna. he’s either creeping over the knockouts with his leery comments, or making bad-jokes about them that have nothing to do with the match. what’s even worse, is it seems to be rubbing off onto mike tenay. as annoying and over-excitable as don west was, he didn’t stoop to cheap shots concerning the knockouts’ looks. i even liked his faux-friendship with “vel-vel”.
I think because Taz on SD had someone barking “PUT TORRIE/CANDICE/ASHLEY/MICHELLE OVER AS THE BEST DIVA EVER!” or “THE BELLAS ARE THE NEXT BIG THING! SAY IT!!” In TNA, it is free reign for the announcers.
I understand if Taz doesn’t like women’s wrestling. I totally get it because he is from an older generation, etc etc. However, has a color man, he should at least have the common courtesy to go “!! Where did Sarita come from?!” instead of “Oh. There she is.” Even King can make a comment about their moves inbetween gawking at the Divas.
Ironically, Matt Striker forced excitement makes me want to burn orphanges, spit on old people, punch babies and punt puppies.. There has to be a middle ground in there somewhere. haha
Great writeup Cryssi, have to agree with your points. Impact was actually worthwhile with these two segments. Hopefully next week will keep it up.
And good grief Prescott, do you have to write essays in your comments? And two essay-comments?? Be a little less wordy next time please!
LOL! Did Lacey really say “I wouldn’t wear those shoes” when Velvet says she’s going to insert her foot up Madison’s ass? Hilarious! You go, guuuuuuuuuuurl
Great write up and a pretty darned good show. I loved the street fight… Taylor sold that purse choke like it was death itself! Great stuff!
Awesome write-up Cryssi. I fully agree in that this was the best impact KO wise since at least 2008 imo. The street fight was very well done and I’m excited that Sarita won because she’s finally getting some spotlight on impact and I love her as a heel. The promo was epic. I’m normally not a big Angelina Love fan but her comments had me cracking up, and she counteracted off Madison well. Velvet & Lacey were great as well, but I’m not into the Biker chick gimmick. The crowd completely died when she started beating up Angelina when they were hot for TBP & Love before. Other than that little detail, a great show all around. Hogan please stay away…
I’d taken an extended break from wrestling due to being disgusted/repeatedly disappointed but I haven’t even watched any of this yet and y’all have me excited. Okay, looking forward to checking it out!
*Dang, can’t see the first part. :( Guess I waited too long!
I just watched their Xplosion match, and surprisingly, it was better than the Street Fight.
I didn’t see the show this week so I appreciate the great write-up! I like the match recap and then the commentary.
This was just beautiful. That segment was amazing, and there wasn’t a dull moment. I can’t even fully express in words how great it was.
Biker Chick: Personally, I don’t think that’s Tara. She’s REALLY short, and Tara aint THAT damn short. Her movements aren’t really Tar-iffic either. Eh, I don’t know, but I stopped trusting those dirt sheets a lonnnnnnng time ago.
“Did you happen to see the DUMPY ASS on that person?!” hahahah that was hilarious
I hope Velvet and Lacey stay as a team together. It seems to be going in that direction. They are the KO tag team champs. Lacey is caught in the middle between Madison and Velvet, but I think will end up picking Velvet in the end since Madison is a bitch now. It will suck REALLY bad if there is no BP group after this(I can’t see that happening since TBP are consistently a huge draw for TNA)…I hope there is atleast some form of the group left…Angelina, Velvet, and Lacey preferably.
and I just have to say….DAMN! LVE is hottttttt. She was the best part of the whole segment. Playboy should be knockin’ on her door any day now.
I used to want Madison to turn face and leave the BPs, but as a heel, she’s whiny, irritating, bitchy… AND I LOVE IT. I’m warming up to her bad persona. For a moment, I thought we were gonna see a Velvet face turn, but she’s still as evil as ever :) Plus, Lacey is so cute and innocent. Haha.
Street fight = awesome.
@TheWWEUberfan
Of course the moveset isnt right she dont want to give her a widows peak and expect people to not beilieve its her
Miss Tessmacher is heel?
lacey will probbaly pick velvet over madison and madison and love feud should keep going. if this happens i perdict love will keep the knouckots titl. or we could have a triple threat match for the knockouts title love vs rane vs sky. if that happens sky should win and her and rane feud .or have a fatal four way for the knouckots title lacy vs sky vs rane vs love. if this happens i predict lacy will win and feud with rane and sky for the knouckots title. and like lacy better now after this impact i dont know why but i do.
