Northeast Wrestling has announced a blockbuster match-up between one of the most popular WWE Divas of all time and one of the most popular TNA Knockouts of all time.
Former Knockouts Champion, Awesome Kong will face former Women’s Champion, Mickie James for the first time ever on October 1st in Waterbury, CT.
This is probably the biggest women’s match that could ever be announced right now, with both women such hot free agents. This is a PPV caliber match, for sure.

Wow, that IS a pretty f-ing big time match for CHIKARA. How surreal would it be to see a top, former Diva Vs a top, former Knockout? It’s great to see Kong and Mickie both getting a number of good indy bookings since leaving their respective companies.

Awesome Kong vs. Mickie James, HOLY Sh@t Batman dreams do come true. Somebody has got to post this match on Youtube or somewhere so wrestling fans can see it. Wake up WWE & TNA, you going one hell of a women’s match wishing you had (WWE) not release Mickie and (TNA) paid Kong more money. I’m cheering for Mickie but even if Mickie looses, I’ll be happy because I’m sure that Kong and Mickie will put on a great match equaling or if not even better than Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong. The biggest matches used to only be possible in the ‘big time’ wrestling companies. This is just another reminder to turn off the big 2 and start tuning into the indies. This is very good news, and hopefully an indicator of things to come.
