I forgot about Mickie being a random lumberjack that one time lol. I was still excited even though I knew it was coming but I would’ve freaked out if it was live. Like the one time Candice came back…when she distracted Beth so Maria could be in Playboy, not the second time…that was effed up. And, um the turkey thing with Maryse, I totally freaked out because it was really unexpected and I was so stoked she was back :D
I wasn’t paying much attention to the match…I guess I’ll have to see tomorrow because it sounded like it was awesome
I agree with Steven in that Melina’s return would have been sooo much better had it been live.
First of all, knowing it was going to happen a week ago really took away from any excitement I would of had.
Also the crowd didn’t pop half as much as I thought they would have. Maybe it’s because this was the 2nd taping last week and they were tired?
I AM glad to see Melina back regardless – I’m def. no mark for her but there’s no doubt a void in the division when shes absent
Also – the highlight for me tonight was Jililan actually standing up for herself to Alicia!
I remember like a month ago when Maryse threw Jillian out last in a battle royal after Jillian wanted to be “co-winners:” but then they were teaming not long after like nothing happened
Aww. You guys left out The Bella Twins. Lol. That was the highlight of Raw for me seeing them get rejected. LMAO! The guest host did what I’ve been wanting to do since they debut tell them no thanks and send them packing. Lol.
I am really glad that the diva’s were able to show their talent last night. it proved that they can really put on a good show if they are given the time.
I absolutely loved this weeks Raw!! The match was great, the highlights for me were Natalya owning Alicia Fox && Gail’s crossbody on Tamina and Jillian tossing her into the ringpost, she sold it perfectly. A-Fox cut a good promo, loved it….OMG when I heard the Paparazzi music, I did the Melina scream lol. I could just see and feel her excitement to finally be back.

Still can’t belive Melina Perez stole another finisher from SHIMMER, this time from Daizee Haze
To me, Melina is the best there is because nobody on the roster (and I’m talking male AND female) can match her when it comes to combining great wrestling with charisma and personality. I think it was John Morrison who said that she more than any of the other divas has the ability to make you care about what’s going on in the ring. She makes me feel passionate about wrestling for just a short time every week during a period when I otherwise could care less.
You know, it’s been evident since 2005, and she wasn’t even such a great wrestler back then. She has a way of injecting her enthusiasm and personality and passion into the match in a way that IMO the other women can’t do. Mickie was similar, which is why I think the two of them did so well. They seemed like real stars in the ring, rather than just filler. It’s like they have the quality that Trish had.

Oh, and yeah, the match was great. It’s a crime that Natalya isn’t allowed to wrestle regularly. She’s better than most of the guys in there.

All wrestlers “steal” moves (although some ask permission first), or use variations of existing moves. Usually people dont care, but the problem here is, that a lot of people consider Melina to be one of the most INNOVATIVE women in wrestling. But how can you be “innovative” when you consistently use moves that were made populair by other wrestlers.
Note: I’m not 100% certain, but i think the snapmare driver was invented by Evan Bourne (maybe with help from Daizee), so Melina now has 2 moves in her moveset that were created by Evan (he also created the sunset flip, which he calls the “slice”…correct me if i’m wrong).
Melina and John Morison must have a huge collection of indy tapes at home. Both are starting to get a reputation for using other people’s moves. In theory there is nothing wrong with that…just stop calling them “innovative”.
I loved the match. I thought the end spots were really good since for once it wasn’t a “finisher fest” and it was spots we haven’t really seen from them before. Gail’s crossbody and Ring Post moment were insane, and I thought she broke her face in half after the second.
For me, Natalya really brought the match into a new level when she entered, and I never got that impression from a diva bout before. She was on fire, left and right, nailing move after move on Alicia and had no stalling or anything. That double underhook Suplex Pin was incredible, and I need to see more of her in the ring.
The promo Fox did was awesome, and I always knew she had this charisma in her, but it was just up to WWE to do something with it. Even though she’s been left off one complete raw, I think her title reign has already gotten more mic time than any other Divas Title Reign before it.
And then the greatness of Melina. I popped for the music and it was great to see her back. I hated her first return due to the botch in the tron, and I will agree with David in that the return freshens her up. I didn’t care for her face run until she began feuding with Maryse because when she faced Maryse she got that fire and anger that I missed. I’m in general not a big fan of faces as they are always the same to me, but I loved tonight how Melina showed the fire again. She seems to always put little touches on her return, such as the first time when she hid behind the big feathers as she walked out, and this time letting out the big “I’M BACKKKKKKK” scream.
Overall, one of my favorite diva nights on Raw in a long time, and even with it being taped, it was awesome. I hope they aren’t rushing Melina back though. I’m nervous as I feel like they’re going to just put her in a singles match with Jillian next week and I don’t know if she’ll be ready for a singles bout yet, but hopefully they realize the mistake they made in putting Candice back too soon and not make the same twice.
And, Melina is innovative in her moveset. Just because she does a faster version of MsChif’s finisher, and tonight did a cleaner version of Daizee’s, doesn’t take away from the other things she does that we haven’t seen before. Just my opinion though…
Good point re: the Bellas…I think we were so excited about Melina we overlooked them.
Also, I did like when Jillian rolled Alicia back in the ring. Jillian fans have to be happy that at least she is involved more now in the storylines (and she has never looked better.)

Great Post-RAW Show everyone. I for one loved RAW tonight, never thought I’d say that lol. I thought the match was really good for what it was. Nattie in the ring was amazing. That double-underhook suplex; FLAWLESS!! I hope we see more from Nattie in the ring from now on. I really loved the whole finishing spot fest just because it wasn’t a finisher spot fest. It was different and way more entertaining. That crossbody from Gail was amazing. And man talk about pain, when Gail got slammed into the ring post I literally went “OUCH!” I think Eve even a very good baseball dropkick to Jilian & nice clothesline from Tamina. I really wish Eve or Gail could have gotten pinned instead of Nattie but it put Alicia over even more so I’m kinda ok with it. As for Melina’s return I thought it was really needed. I would like Melina to stay out of the ring until after SummerSlam. I think she should wrestle a few shows in FCW if she can. Just to work off some of that ring rust she probably has. I could see her getting back in the ring in late August just in time for Night of Champions next month. I would personally like to see a Championship Scramble match at Night of Champions for the Divas Title. I know they won’t get the 20 minute time limit but maybe a 10 minute match instead. I doubt it but still. Anyway a good night for RAW hope it continues. =)
Last night was great. I really wish the Wwe would use Natalya as a full-time wrestler. That bridge suplex she did was awesome. You guys are right as every time Natalya is wrestling, it is a treat.
Melina return was spot-on as it was much better than her last return lol. She just looked great out there and even though I’m not the biggest Melina fan, I was very happy for her.
I must say that Gail can take a bump. That spot she did over the top and her ring post spot was great.
I have to agree with David about Beth returning. She says she is returning in the fall, but I think that is too soon for a torn ACL. I love Beth and I would hate for her to pull a Candice Michelle lol.
I LOVED Raw. The match was great, and it honestly gave me flashes of the Trish-Lita era. It was soooo amazing. Melina’s return was good, but I realized that after it happened, I wasn’t that excited. It was just like, “Well on to next week!”. I should have still been screaming at the television screen out of joy, not moving on. So the fact that it was pre-taped ruined it for me somewhat. Anyways, it was still a fantastic showing from the Divas, for once.
Mikas-I haven’t heard anyone call Melina “innovative” in a long time, so there’s really no need to bring that up. But, I do think Melina has a DIVERSE moveset, and I like the fact that she uses moves from the Indies.

I loved Melina return, the match was amazing tonight. Love Natalya, loved the story line continuation. I am loving Foxxy more and more. She’s really growing as a champion. I know a lot of people slate Alicia Fox, but she’s really growing. It looks like the Heart Dynasty will be fueding with SES so I can see Serena vs Natalya.
