WWE Superstar, Goldust had some less than flattering critiques about TNA’s Lacey Von Erich last night on Twitter.

The Superstar posted several tweets during last night’s Knockouts Tag Team Championship match on Impact. Read below:

* Lacy [sic] has no talent whatsoever.
* She is horrible
* Great family but her no

Goldy went onto deny that he was watching the show. Hmm, sure…

Von Erich teamed with Velvet Sky last night, losing the Knockouts Tag Titles to Hamada and Taylor Wilde.

  1. I like Lacey, she’s adorable. But there’s no possible denying on how god awful terrible she’s in the ring, quite possibly worse than Khali, which is almost scary to think of. Rhodes knows a lot about wrestling, and I can’t help but to agree with him on this matter, she’s almost embarassing to watch, it’s really repulsive.

I love Von Erich, she’s cute and pretty, but she should stick to managing roles, I don’t even know why TNA wants her in a ring at the moment. Kudos to her for trying tho…

  2. it’s no fiction that she’s still very awkward in the ring. i feel sorry for her because people expect blood relatives to all have the same attributes and qualities, the same interests and excel at the same things and that’s so not how the world or genetics work.

even though i partly agree with his comments (talentless is a bit harsh, though), i think he should know better. not only is he somebody in the public eye, but he’s a father and a wrestling veteran. a bit more respect for somebody else in the business (no matter how good or bad they are) should be demonstrated.

on lacey herself, she has a lot of work to do, but the character and the acting, promo work etc she’s had lately has been, as layla would say, “flawless”. she seems to be following the trend of kelly and eve, not cementing the basics before moving on to the more flashy stuff. hopefully she keeps her training up, if only so people like goldust can eat their words.

  3. I hold TNA personally responsible for letting her in the ring to wrestle. People said she’s green but IMO she’s a bit below that level. She couldn’t even sell chops or headbutts last night. TNA needs to take her out of the ring and put her with someone who is willing to take her under their wing and help her. For me, it becomes more of a safety issue rather than putting on good matches for the fans. What if she simply forgets to tuck her chin while taking a belly to back suplex or something?

  4. let her be a valet to a new guy. Lacey is good at acting [for wrestling standards] and could get over that way.

  5. Even though Lacey is not talented in the ring, that gave goldust no reason to be harsh. how old is she like 22 she still has plenty of time to get better. i think with her name being Von Erich people expect so much from her….give her a break at least she trying
@Rashanti i agree she needs someone to take her underneath their wing so maybe she can learn from them

  6. i love her character, but i think now that she is no longer a tag team champion she should focus on training, and keep her as a on screen character and valet until she improves

  7. funny no one told the fink to lay off on eve but then again, i forgot his person of his subject just so happenes to be probably more disliked and annoyed by than Lacey, so never mind

  8. “funny no one told the fink to lay off on eve but then again, i forgot his person of his subject just so happenes to be probably more disliked and annoyed by than Lacey, so never mind”

but the fink didn’t call eve talentless, he just said he wasn’t a fan of hers. which is fair enough as at that time she had won yet another (supposed) no.1 contendership.

  9. @AjLeefAn She does have plenty of time to get better…But that learning curve doesn’t need to happen while she is on national television with a title belt over her shoulder…

  10. Kaledrina: Love your new avatar. And, yes, I agree with you regarding Lacey moving to flashy moves instead of focusing on basics first.

I wouldn’t say she has no talent. I will however say that with the way she is in the ring, she should not be allowed to wrestle just yet since she is a danger to both herself and to her competitor.

People keep talking about how Alicia may get someone in jeopardy. Well, Lacey’s case is a lot worse for her own sake given her size and her body type.

And yes, I still do not get that Moonsault to elbow move granted that she lands on her feet before dropping the elbow. If she was the one who thought of doing it like that in the first place, then that just shows how much she doesn’t understand true ring work.

I do however agree that she is very beautiful and somewhat watchable doing her promos. Of course, until I see her work other emotions than confusion and apprehension, I wouldn’t be too impressed just yet. After all, this is the 21st century… surely wrestling characters can be more than easy 2 dimensional stereotypes. I mean, really…

  11. I don’t watch TNA, but I know what from what I read what kind of character Lacey plays. Is it clear that her screw ups are real, or is there a chance that she intentionally wrestles in a way that makes her look stupid because she’s supposed to look stupid?

  12. “I don’t watch TNA, but I know what from what I read what kind of character Lacey plays. Is it clear that her screw ups are real, or is there a chance that she intentionally wrestles in a way that makes her look stupid because she’s supposed to look stupid?”

I see what you’re saying, but it’s clear that this isn’t apart of her gimmick.

  13. “Is it clear that her screw ups are real, or is there a chance that she intentionally wrestles in a way that makes her look stupid because she’s supposed to look stupid?”

LOL that would be so cool if it was the case, which i don’t think it is. we often get the women playing the dumb role character-wise backstage and in promos. seeing it play out more prominently in the ring would be awesome.

and thanks, the crying light, i quite like it too :)

  14. @stchick I actually took the Fink’s statement as a booking criticism more than a criticism of her as a wrestler. I think its pretty clear that I am the biggest Eve fan on the staff and I remember saying on the Post Raw Show that I agreed that she shouldn’t have been number one contender.

There is no way that Lacey is wrestling “dumb” in order to play up to her chracter. Its ok to be a mark, but a true fan is able to criticize their favorites for their shortcomings. In Lacey’s case, it means pretty much everything to do with a wrestling ring.

  15. I love Lacey, but TNA really need to get their priorities in check. I hope that the backstage segment leads to her being taken off TV in order to properly train, because I do feel she is improving with her moves, she just needs a lot of work in the selling department. I respect that she is atleast trying to show some type of moveset, but TNA need to never let her have that much time in the ring, especially against someone like Hamada who isn’t used to working girls on Lacey’s level.

  16. Unfortunately he is right. She has been with TNA for more than 10 months and she still cant do the basics. I’ve seen indy girls with less then 3 months of training put on better matches. But the fault lies with TNA, they are the ones who book her for matches and gave her a tagteam title (what were they thinking?). They should’ve only used her as a valet. She is goodlooking and is somewhat funny, so she makes a perfect valet. Just dont let her wrestle.

  17. ^^ agreed. Kelly is a much better wrestler than her and she didn’t even join a promotion. Lacey is a disgrace to her wrestling family.

  18. About the Fink/Eve thing IMO it was all uncalled for. Seeing how that wasn’t even a no.1 contendership match to begin with. So him saything that makes him look stupid now. I’m never a fan other people calling out their coworkers is just shows how unprofessional they are. Which isn’t really the case here, although he could of worded it differently.

  19. “Its ok to be a mark, but a true fan is able to criticize their favorites for their shortcomings.”

That’s true, and that’s what fans here seem to be doing. I asked if it could be intentional because I know very little about Lacey. Like I said eariler, I don’t watch TNA, but based on some of the responses, it seems like even people who like her are willing to admit she’s bad in the ring.

  20. hahahahaha lol

  21. Ai-ya… been seeing people talk about this today. And Mo Chen had to comment. Obvious is the concern for her safety and whoever she’s work with. If she truly not ring-ready, then someone can get messed up – bad.

So, TNA let ODB, Kong and Roxxi go – three girls who can work. Work hard and work well. They just no look like a model. But, there are enough indy girls out there who do the work, and look sharp.

Not to say that Lacey good no be a big asset to them… but as soon as Mo Chen see that first big mis-cue, I got worried.

  22. Note:Hulk Hogan is high up on her thats why she been succesful so lately.

  23. Goldust is right. Lacey is terrible. She needs to be taken out of the ring before she injures someone or herself.

  24. Eh. I don’t mind people saying Lacey isn’t great in the ring. I get that. But what bothers me is that people bring up her family. I didn’t know wrestling ability was found in DNA. Further more, how many people actually know that she didn’t grow up watching wrestling?

  25. Ouch if it was a rookie or some who hasn’t been with the company for longer than 5 years she probably wouldn’t care but coming from someone like Goldust damn her feelings must be hurt or they should be and I agree they do need to stop mentioning her family wrestling ability isn’t found in DNA and the women doesn’t even have that much wrestling experience.

  26. At first i wasn’t to keen on TNA signing Lacey (other than the fact that she was drop dead gorgeous)…but shes grown on me…i am a Lacey fan!

Now while i agree that she does need a lot of work in the ring, that gave Dustin no right to verbally attack her! He needs to remember, he was new to it all at one time…he didnt just jump in the ring and start off on expert level! And coming from a wrestling family himself…he of all people should know the pressures of trying to live up to the family’s standards! Total disrespectful on his part…i’ve now lost some respect for him!

But yes, Lacey does need some work…but i give her credit for not giving up…she goes out each time and does what she can! And to those sayin she puts ppl in danger…NO SHE DONT…becuz she recognizes her lack of skill and doesn’t try anything that could be potentially dangerous to her opponents! The only one she puts in danger is herself!

  27. ebmich wrote: “how many people actually know that she didn’t grow up watching wrestling?”

In various interviews she said that after her dad died, her family kept her away from wrestling completely.

  28. Honestly, the people to blame are TNA management. It’s obvious that this girl doesn’t belong anywhere near the inside of a ring. I can understand the need for eye candy. Just make her a ring girl or valet. But the last place we need her is in the ring, where she can get herself or someone else hurt.

  29. In fairness to Lacey, her acting is better than her wrestling. She is trying which is obvious and TNA don’t really have a developmental for green talent. I think that TNA are doing the right thing by having her wrestle sparcley and giving her a character for fan appeal.

  30. Shelly Martinez just said this about Lacey today on twitter, “Why the hatin she plays her role so well there is more to becoming a star in the biz than just wrestling u can always learn the moves and tighten up ur game but either u have presence or u dont-she does in my opinion”

  31. Totally agree with Shanti. If she gets hurt, thats on TNA for putting her in the ring too damn soon. And Goldust, as a father himself and the son of a ‘legend’ himself, should keep his mouth shut. It’s apparent Lacey isn’t good in the ring. But the character she plays, her promos and backstage work are really good. She needs to be a valet until she’s more comfortable in the ring. I could definitely see her being a great manager/valet. God knows the woman’s under enough pressure as it is, being a Von Erich. Blood doesn’t always make a person a good wrestler.

  32. Lacey is adorable and I love her in backstage things with Velvet but she really does terrible in the ring. I think she needs to pull a Maryse and be someones manager/valet.

  33. Give her a chance, with more in ring practice she will get better. She’s hardly the first girl to be on tv that has a great look, & gets over with the fans but has limited ring ability. That would pretty much describe a good chunk of the Divas their year or so on tv.

  34. Lacey is wwe’s kelly they do flips but they just awful….

  35. lol! im glad someone that actually know’s what their talkin about has finally said something! we all know how terrible Lacey is! i know your all trying to defend her because she’s pretty and ‘funny’ but at the end of the day that doesn’t make you a wrestler and people like her do not belong in wrestling! i’d say she’s 1 up from Maria based on looks.

  36. April Hunter agredd with Goldust on her twitter saying, “LOL-Goldust said Lacey Von Erich is talentless.Hard to disagree w/ that. Saw her coached 998x on how 2 do a clubbing-& still got it wrong.;) “,

so i guess Goldust aint the only one that feels that way,

  37. I really enjoy watching Lacey but not in the ring. She did horrible last night and it really showed that she is extremely green in the ring. The thing is I don’t think she’s really trying to improve. I could be wrong but she just doesn’t show much improvement. But I do admit she has improved since her debut. I would be ok if they just kept Lacey out of the ring. She reminds me of Maryse a little. Not so good in the ring but shines outside of it.

  38. April Hunter isn’t exactly great either, she shouldn’t be mean like that. Given the fact that she’s a(was?) pro wrestler herself.

Lacey should make an effort to train more if she really wants to be a wrestler. But to be honest, I don’t see it. I don’t see a passion for wrestling from her. I could be wrong but perhaps she enjoys playing a character more than the actual wrestling aspect itself. I don’t see her lasting very long unless she sits down to watch some old tapes of women like Sherry, Lita, Trish and others who left their mark. Perhaps then she can see what being a true worker is all about.

  39. “April Hunter isn’t exactly great either, she shouldn’t be mean like that.”

Maybe not “great”, but still a good wrestler, much better than people give her credit for. She can also pull off powermoves many other women cant due to her sheer strength.

  40. “Is it clear that her screw ups are real, or is there a chance that she intentionally wrestles in a way that makes her look stupid because she’s supposed to look stupid?”

“LOL that would be so cool if it was the case, which i don’t think it is. we often get the women playing the dumb role character-wise backstage and in promos. seeing it play out more prominently in the ring would be awesome.”

It would be worse if that were true. There’s no problem with playing the “dumb” role in the ring, there are plenty of wrestlers that that done it pretty well over the years. But, it’s a problem when you make the people in the ring with you look just as bad.

  41. It is so easy to attack someone who comes from a wrestling background,If Shane and Stephanie McMahon kids wants to become wrestlers would we attacking them , whether or not they are good in the ring.

  42. Personally, my issue has nothing to with her bloodline, it simply has to with the fact that she’s bad in the ring. She’s been in the business since mid-2007, and she doesn’t even have the basics down. People can try to defend her if they want, but when WWE can take models and turn them into better wrestlers than her after just a couple of months, something is very wrong. TNA needs to take her out of that ring so she can buckle down on her training, if it even matters at this point. And as for Lacey, she either needs to start taking her training more serious, or she needs to reconsider something other than wrestling, because there are plenty of women out there who deserve that TV spot a lot more than she does.
