Last week, Teddy Long ordered Lay-Cool to decide between them who would be Women’s Champion, citing there was only room for one title holder in the SmackDown women’s division. Well, this week, we found out whether it would be Layla or Michelle McCool that would hold the gold. Or did we? Tune in…
Lay-Cool enter Teddy’s office to find Rosa Mendes in her obligatory useless appearance of the week. Michelle shoos her away and we get down to business.
Michelle and Layla try to protest Teddy’s decision but ultimately, their efforts are futile. They argue over who should relinquish their belt and it’s Michelle who eventually does, telling Layla, “You owe me!”
Teddy then makes them decide which of them will wear the sole Women’s Title and another argument breaks out. “There’s no Lay-Cool without Cool,” argues Michelle. “I’m Lay!” fights back Layla.
Michelle shows who wears the pants in this duo saying, “I did all the work. I got you here!” Layla, rather funnily, retorts, “I know!”
Michelle tries to grab the title from Layla, who has a firm grip on it, and the pair end up breaking the belt in half. “OOPSIE!”
Figuring out a loophole to Teddy’s ultimatum, Layla exclaims: “See Teddy, there’s still just one Women’s Title!”
As always, Layla’s childish whining in this segment had me rolling. I find her charming to watch. ♥
Michelle asserting her dominance over Layla, telling her that she pretty much brought her to the dance, shows where things may be headed in a couple of months. It’ll be interesting to see if they play that up going forward.
In all, it looks like Lay-Cool’s co-Women’s Championship reign isn’t ready to end. It’ll be funny watching them walk around with half a belt, which is where this seems to be going.

I’m gonna guess that Teddy will make Michelle and Layla wrestle one-on-one for the women’s title at Summerslam next week. This is what should happen as we all get to see a divas match on ppv and I don’t think that Melina should face Alicia right away. I would build up Melina more before I have her go straight to the title.
I’m really annoyed by Michelle’s earings.. its so big and anooying to see….

wow, the way layla was holding the belt in the beginning made it obvious that it was already broken in half! this segment was pretty funny. layla is hilarious! i wonder how laycool is going to survive! *gasp*

I love Layla, she always has me cracking up. I loved when Michelle said, “I got you here” and all Layla said was, “I KNOW” I’m not ready for them to break up! I think its funny how Michelle said she was the champion, Layla should’ve brought up how SHE was the one who pinned Beth to win the match in the first place…Layla is obviously the real champion…I think they’re gonna fight for it soon which but when they do I know it will be the downfall of them and I don’t want it to happen. Kaval for peacemaker lol

The title Layla is holding is obviously fake and the one Michelle handed in was the real belt.
Let’s just hope we see lay-cool over by the end of Summer Slam because i dis-like lay-cool there funny but i like Layla and Michelle when there in singles competition. The only diva’s that should form a stable are the bella twins -duh- and the newly tag team blondetourage. Michelle was taken more serious when she was pure evil and layla was much better on ECW with the big attitude and aggressiveness. I think Michelle and Layla won’t be a bad match since they have faced off before in the past so i could think that they would bring an 8 minute bout at SS2O1O. Beth will return in 2-3 months, AJ will debut in a month or so, till’ then we’ll have to stick with the same kelly, tiffany, layla and michelle matches. Serena? Rosa? WWE writers can be much creative then that there just lazy -_- or dont care about the SD divas.
although it’s an odd looking replica, um.. the women’s title just got broke in half. destroying a title full of history for the sake of a potential future feud between layla and michelle doesn’t sit right with me. i guess the belt really is nothing more than just an accessory now?

Yeah, um, not their best work. But it’ll be interesting to see if this does actually lead to tension.

True but if it was the real title then at least they gave it more “history” to have to it and that every time they see the crack going down the womens title then they’ll know lay-cool did that ^-^

What is Rosa’s current role on SmackDown? She’s always backstage talking to someone or working out. Give her someone to valet for. Since she’s not that great in the ring, work according to her strengths. She’s a good talker, surprsingly. Any male midcarder could have her as a mouthpiece.
Yeah I agree Rosa should get an on-screen boyfriend. She was good with Ryder.
But atleast shes getting screen time. She could still get semi-pushed. How many weeks did we see Maryse in the bath tub a few years ago and that’s all we saw. And Michelle’s screen time consisted of stretching in the lockerroom when she first started.
I like Layla more then Michelle but I still just don’t buy her as Women’s Champ
if they have lay-cool feud they have to have mccool put layla over to make her look credible as champion & if they do split i hope layla gets a push & not mccool since no one really cares about her….
I have my doubts that McCool would put Layla over, at least clean enough to build credibility. That’s the problem with this scenario.
But we’ll see what happens.

As for the Women’s title the break looks so cartooon-ish. It has the classic perfect zigzag cut.
I can not wait for them to break up! I miss Layla’s old theme. LayCool was interesting for while, but it started to get old quick. I hope K2 or Tiffany or even Rosa start messing with Layla’s head and calling her Michelle’s bitch and just basically messing with her head. Calling her a fake champion. Tat would be interesting and fun.
Seeing as how there is harmony between Laycool now with the pendant style title, I see Rosa getting a title shot pretty soon. Also,I think she might win it or become Beth’s sidekick again when she returns!

i love layla, must admit i would much prefer it if laycool stayed together for the moment. i think teddy will probably make them fight at summerslam but i can’t see that being a proper match. there was not any real animosity between them in this segment and with michelle being so dominant over layla i can see layla lying down and letting michelle win. i think that would lead to a better fued with layla slowly realising michelle is only looking out for herself, and then trying to get the title back.
don´t forget that laycool are still on NXT mentoring Kaval,one of the main rookies there….
okay so finally after seeing all the spoilers play out I am under the impression that they aren’t going to be breaking up as soon as I thought which I am extremely grateful for. I know that a lot of people are super angry about the breaking the belt in half thing but honestly I could careless, I think that this is exactly what LayCool needs and clearly they’re building heat because of it and it makes the idea of “BFF champs” more interesting.
And did anyone else find the comment from Michelle “I did all the work, I got you here” a bit ironic considering that Layla contributed just as much to McCool as McCool did to Layla. I think that’s why I’ll be sad when they spilt up, they just compliment each other so well.
Very funny segment by Lay-Cool. I have a feeling that Teddy will have Layla & Michelle face off at Night of Champions to determine the true Women’s Champion. Knowing WWE they’ll have McCool win it but I’d like to see Layla get a credible reign without the “co-womens championship” gimmick. But I don’t see Lay-Cool breaking up, they’ll continue to team together after they have their match.

I agree they should let it build up as Layla starts to realize that Michelle is using Layla for her reign. I would like to see some Diva’s start slowly pick away and mess with Layla’s head about Michelle using her.
One example (I know old), who caused Beth Phoenix the match against Mickie James? Michelle. Who ended up fighting Beth the week after? Layla.
I want a break up and it needs to happen sooner than later. I careless about them on NXT, by the time Layla realizes Michelle is just using her. NXT will be over. How many weeks left?
