Awesome report!!!! Love the pictures.
match looks great
What an ego blow this must be for Mickie. Why hasn’t she signed with TNA yet? Her music career obviously isn’t going anywhere if she has to wrestle in front of 50 people.
Great pictures! Can’t wait to see this one!
justbringit: When you love to do something, it doesn’t matter if you perform infront of 10 people, 50 people or 10,000. She loves to wrestle – ergo she’s willing to perform anywhere. It’s not about how many people are in the crowd anyways. She was wrestling Mercedes Martinez, one of the best in America today. Maybe she’d never faced Mercedes and wanted to do it no matter where? And maybe she’s happy where she is now, wrestling on the indies and focusing on her music. She doesn’t have to go to TNA if she doesn’t want to.
Wrestling on the indy circuit isn’t the end of the world. 9 times out of 10 you get better matches there.
Jennifer: I respect passion, but you have to be smart as well. Her “star power” is hanging on by a thread right now, you’d think she would want to be on TV, especially with an album to promote. This isn’t a 20 year old Mickie trying to break in to the business anymore. This is a 30 year old woman that is no longer at her peak, and is trying to get in to a very competitive music business despite not having that great of a voice, and not being as famous as some people think. TNA will treat her like a star, and is the only viable way she has of promoting her album to a national audience.
Just my opinion.
It should be fairly obvious that she’s not doing this to promote her album. She’s a Professional Wrestler and she’s doing it because she wants to. If she just wanted to do country or just do wrestle for TNA I’d bet she could. She’s not. She’s not a model WWE hired and turned into a diva that quits the business as soon as the future endeavor comes. She is Mickie James, Professional Wrestler.
John: Exactly. This isn’t about her album, it’s about her wanting to wrestle. If she wanted to focus only on her singing, she would be, but it’s obvious she still has a passion for wrestling, so she’s going for it, wrestling people she hasn’t wrestled before.
justbringit, how can you say that Mickie’s star power is hanging by a thread? Mickie’s star hasn’t shined brighter than it’s shining now. Mickie James fans interested more than even in what Mickie is doing. Jennifer & Johnhype are 100% right, Mickie is wrestling because she still has the passion for wrestling and is wrestling for her fans. Saying Mickie is past her prime is an insult. Just because Mickie is 30 doesn’t mean that Mickie is past her prime. Mickie wrestled a 16 minute match with Mercedes Martinez. Hell, the majority of the WWE who are 25 or younger who can’t wrestle a 16 minute match little along a 5 minute match. Far as Mickie’s music career, yes Mickie does have her work cut out for her but I think that Mickie has done great job considering that Mickie had never professionally sang before she made her album. I’m not a country music fan but I love Mickie’s album. If you look at the pictures from her concerts and you can see that she’s having fun and enjoying herself. Speaking only for myself, I would prefer that if Mickie is going to sign with TNA that Mickie wants until next year when Hogan & Bischoff are gone from TNA.
I have a question for Justbringit: I respect your opinion, but would you say John Cena is past his prime? He’s 33. Trish was 30 when she retired, and I thought she was at her peak. I’ve always felt wrestlers hit their stride in the late 20s and early 30s because they learn the business but are still at or close to their physical peak.
I think Mickie is a smart woman. She did not burn her bridges with the WWE, although I doubt she’ll go back. She has an open dialogue with Dixie Carter, and would be a huge signing for TNA. And besides her music career, she’s taking some matches which will help keep her in ring shape if she does make a move. Plus she grew up on the indy scene, she probably had a great time.
TNA is interested in Mickie, not vice versa. If she REALLY wanted to join TNA, she would have no trouble getting a job with them. Mickie is obviously where she wants to be. She is choosing to work the independent curcuit , which obviously means that she will not always be in front of thousands of people.
Mickie James, former Diva, current Professional Wrestler. Respect it. While a lot of those other former divas dropped out of wrestling after their unexpected, release women like Mickie, and Gail, and Jazz continue to wrestle and entertain their truest fans on shows big and small because that’s what Professional Wrestlers do. Look at the current WWE roster, what other women do you see doing that? That’s who you should be supporting the most. The divas who, deep down inside, are actually Professional Wrestlers.
I want to buy Mickie this shirt, as I’m very proud of her: http://www.aiwrestling.com/colt/
Honestly, Mickie probably did it because they paid her enough. SImple as that.
seeing these pictures, they just burn a whole right in my heart. being a 16 year old lady myself, i look up tot hese divas. they are my role models. they all seem so passionate about wrestling. as i am. and mickie james in my opinion is one of THE best female performers of all time. i know she’s having a good time wrestling mercedes martinez. but it kills me knowing how much mickie loves wwe. knowing how much she sacrificed and threw away just to get a tryout for the company. how can vince fire someone who was so passionate and loving of the wwe? there really was no good reason either. mickie deserves much better than what vince has given her. with that whole piggy james storyline. it was so degrading and humiliating on mickie’s behalf, and embarrassing for both sides. i dont see how mickie is “fat”. i think she is very beautiful with beautiful curves. unlike other divas like alicia fox who is straight like a board. vince is so ungrateful. all he wants is 100 pound blondes with no wrestling ability. he doesnt care about true wrestling any more. mickie deserves to be in wwe just as much if not more than anyone else. and it kills my soul seeing someone like mickie who is one the best performers male or female in the entire world, wrestling in gyms in front of 50 people when she should be in wwe wrestling in front of 90,000 people at a wrestlemania battling for the gold. i know mickie is on the indy scene because she loves to wrestle, but it hurts me seeing a woman who put so much on the line and being THE most popular diva of her time, being fired for no reason and having to wrestle back at the indys. mickie deserves much more. not that im saying there is anything wrong with the indys but mickie deserves to be treated like a real star in wwe just like trish was. thats all im saying. i love trish too. but wwe made her seem like royalty. when mickie was just as good, but since she wasnt blonde, or built like trish, she got treated like “piggy james”. i find it disgusting and sickening to my stomach seeing how vince treated mickie. vince = jack***
I feel like Mercedes deserves to work Mania.
