  1. I wish they would have shown Jillian Hall singing California Gurls on TV instead of during the commercial break!

  2. @ ilovelita- I wondered about that too. Maryse and Jillian probably were going to get the biggest reaction out of the crowd and they put them on during a commercial break?

Anyways, I re-watched the Alicia/Melina match. I didn’t find it all that bad. Mel’s offense looked great, Alicia seemed to have an issue deciding on what to do with her offense at times, but they typically figured it out quickly enough. The two spots that were obviously weak were the backbreaker and the Last Call. The backbreaker was partially a result of Mel being rusty (I think she mis-timed the move or something, in an event, she wasn’t quite ready when they did it) and Alicia not being strong enough to quickly help Mel out and not experienced enough to cover. I did think the overhead backbreaker was weird. Alicia quickly looked like she was struggling to keep Mel in it.

The Last Call screw up was much more Alicia’s fault. She didn’t grab Mel’s legs, but was holding her feet and she didn’t just go straight down on her back, she added a twist.

The summer fun match or whatever was confusing in regards to the rules, but they made the best of it. David, Tamina looked hot–end of story :-P.

I doubt Mel’s winning at Summerslam. Alicia is retaining and going into a triple threat at Night of Champions between Eve, Melina, and herself. Maryse may jump in to make up the numbers for a tag match or two and to badger Eve. I’m calling it. I would also like Ted to pay off someone for Maryse and him to get title shots at some point.

  3. They might relese tamina cuz she looks alot like Alicia Fox same thing they did to Lena Yada cuz she looked like Gail.

  4. Wow awesome show!

loving Jennifer’s fire on the show.lol I agree Tamina and santino would be an epic FAIL! Glamorella worked because Beth was already a well established powerhouse wrestler and glamorella was used to show the softer side of beth. I am a huge tamina fan, but to recreate it with tamina would be horrible because she is still very green in the ring and she rarely wrestles so to push her to be that big of a powerhouse wrestler they should have her beat up the bellas and jillian on superstars or something to give her some sort of credibility.

  5. LMAO Y’all got me in trouble for laughing so loud. The lowest point for me during RAW was seeing my girl all sad because of the stupid Nexus.

I kinda liked how you all strolled off topic a bit. It kinda reminded me a bit of a roundtable discussion.

My first death I witnessed as a wrestling fan was Owen Hart, but the one that hit home for me was Eddie Guerrero’s. I still get goosebumps whenever I listen “Hurt” by Johnny Cash.

As for the divas getting their own show and it being successful, I don’t think it would work at this point. In the attitude era, it could of, but back then they invested so much in the Divas as far as storylines and matches go and people actually cared. Now they don’t do that. If they don’t put in the time in the womens division like they used to, then what reason would the audience tune into a one hour show every Tuesday feauturing them?

    Great show everyone!

  6. @daemonicwanderer317, Melina fucked up the finisher. Go back and actually watch it. Alicia did her bump perfectly. Melina landed on her back and fucked it up. Plus she took forever to do the damn thing.

I can just see it now. Melina fucks up and all the blame will pinned on Alicia like it already is despite the fact that Alicia has been pulling out solid performances weekly and despite the fact that Melina has been out for 8 months. This isn’t to anyone specific on her but we get it, Melina is a good wrestler, but she isn’t the best (nowhere near it) and she fucks up as well.

  7. Technically all the RAW Divas appeared last week. Eve Torres, Gail Kim, Natalya, Tamina, Jillian Hall, Alicia Fox, Melina in a 6 Diva Tag Match. Maryse with Ted DiBiase. And The Bella Twins in a backstage segment with Will Farrell and another guy!

And to point out unlike TNA, at least WWE shows all their Divas (most of the time).

  8. Melina always takes a good while to hit the Last Call. I think that part of the landing on her back was because Alicia didn’t grip her shins until the move was in progress, she had her hands on Mel’s feet (every time Michelle has taken it, her arms have been securely wrapped around Mel’s shins). Plus, Alicia did not take her bump properly either. She twisted as she went down and landed haphazardly. Melina had a hand in screwing the move up, but just like in any staged combat scenario, the person getting hit has as much, if not more control than the person doing the hitting. Melina being rusty is an issue, but Alicia wasn’t perfect on the move either and her mistake could have injured both of them.

The leg drop Mel did last week (well it aired last week) was more her fault than the Last Call was. Melina forgot how tall Alicia is and didn’t bend her back far enough. The Last Call was more an Alicia botch than a Mel botch in my opinion.

  9. I will say Alicia’s backbreaker was screwed up mostly by Melina. She seemed to have mis-timed the move and wasn’t prepared to throw her weight all the way around.

I agree with the Post-Raw team, Melina needs to stop using the Last Call as a counter move, it never comes out quite right since Melina can’t be as low on their back as she is supposed to since they are practically standing. Aside from Beth and Michelle, no diva seems to be strong enough to make it work with Mel being higher on their back than normal. It’s like Mickie James, she shouldn’t do her DDT to people who can’t lift her well (Melina, Maryse, etc.) as the move looks like crap. Melina has hit Alicia with great Last Calls before but the one they edited was a counter into finisher.

  10. “They might relese tamina cuz she looks alot like Alicia Fox same thing they did to Lena Yada cuz she looked like Gail”

Uhhh am I the only one that think Tamina looks nothing like Alicia Fox?

Otherwise great show guys! I was a little surprised nobody mentioned Savage & Sherri when you were talking about couples/managers. To me they were almost better then Savage & Liz.

  11. the show was great except for that snuka girl did everybody se luchalibreusa is now running ads for their show on raw a whole 30 seconds

  12. The only person from my generation that I remember died from old age and not from drugs was The Fabulous Moolah and WWE showed the a tribute video on SmackDown! and it brought tears to my eyes because the video was so touching and I knew that I wont see her anymore in that WWE ring and not get to wrestle I think that one match she wanted when she was like in her 90′s!

  13. I absolutely agree that some journalists don’t even care about the Divas.
Like when I was reading the spoilers for a SmackDown! taping and I won’t say the site but I’ll only say LOP site.
But the writer basically said “Rosa Mendes is jump roping so I’m going to take a break.” Then he came back and the segment was over.
But fortunately DivaDirt came to the rescue and posted the SmackDown! spoilers.

  14. When was the last time a Diva turned heel/face?
I think it’s time for Gail Kim to turn heel.

  15. “I absolutely agree that some journalists don’t even care about the Divas.”

They arent real journalists. Dirtsheets are usually run by just fans ;-)
I think there are maybe 3 dirtsheets total that are run by legit (ex)-journalists.

  16. Funny audio show guys, Cryssi is hillarious… Points about tonight

Melina has ring rust, but she looks great and she’ll be back on form for Sunday in her hometown im sure of it.

As you all mentioned Alicia trying powermoves on Melina isnt working, also Foxy needs to watch Michelle take the last call, why would she grab Melina’s feet? she botched that sorry…aside from that her clothesline outside was sick.

TAMINA LOOKED HOT, shes an exotic beauty no questions by far the standout diva for me looks wise, I didnt expect that from her. But the Santino thing is already done with Beth sorry WWE.

Gails obligatory match big bump over the top onto Eve looked sick as did her Eat Defeat to Maryse.

Nikki impressed me tonight, she could actually gun for the title one day with Brie as her Valet lol

    Natayla Rocks as usual!

  17. I’m only a bit of the way through but Jennifer just dropped the F bomb, AGAIN! Lmao!

  18. Just listened to the entire thing and it was amazing, possibly the best edition to date. Everything from Aztecs, Porn, Big Bossman, Woman and Percy Watson’s crappy tag team partnering skills were mentioned and it has made my afternoon. Excellent show!

Btw, for the “wedding” on Sunday, Ohiofan1 should definitely be David’s best man lmao!

  19. i think the powermoves by alicia are working, they even looked better to me than when beth does them. for instance, when beth picks her opponent up and runs into the corner with ‘em, she’s usually struggling to stand up.. alicia didn’t struggle at all. for somebody with such a slim frame, girl got muscle.

  20. @ SoRandy4Rosa, I don’t. Simple things like curly hair makes people think they look a like. People think the same thing with Kelly and Tiffany who look a litle cause they are blondes lol

  21. raw was ok but the post raw show was even better!!!! you guys are so funny.

i thought natalya and tamina were the best parts of raw tonight ;D

  22. isnt melanie a journalist?

  23. whoops, I mean a like lol not a litle

  24. I loved the show guys!

I actually enjoyed RAW tonight. 2 divas matches can’t be taken fro granted, let’s face it. It’s fair to say the matches could have been better. But they got a lot of time.. I guess the Miz didn’t go over his allotted time this week! Woo.

And as you’re talking about which women got you in to wrestling.. mine HAS to be Sable. She was the face of the attitude era. And she actually got one of, if not THE biggest pop of the night back in the late 90s. She was the first women to coin the term “Diva” So i truly believe she was the original diva. If the divas want to look up to a past diva for “how to entertain”.. they should look to Sable.

  25. I have to admit I am surprised so many people find Tamina attractive. I think her eyes are a little goofy. :-) Oh well…to each his own. I thought Eric had the line of the night – “why was she in a bathing suit??” Um…yeah, good question!

When I went back and listened to the show again I cracked up when Steven said “You can’t not believe in children, its not like the tooth fairy!” Love it! I’m not sure how Cryssi kept us on track last night and got us through the show, especially with Jen dropping the F bomb all over the place. Glad you all enjoyed! :-)

  26. I thought Melina/Alicia was a good match. I thought they meshed well, just a little off with the finish and backbreaker but nothing terrible. I don’t think either is to blame for the Last Call, it’s just like Eric said, Alicia isn’t built to do power moves like Michelle, Beth, Natalya, etc. But I enjoyed the match and thought it was good.

The swimsuit was good for what it was. I thought the wrestling was done well, and I loved Nikki Bella’s performance the most. About had a heart attack when Tamina came out though and I kinda hope she does start something with Santino because I feel like if she doesn’t, she’s going to be sent to FCW or fired due to creative having nothing for her, and I don’t want that.

The twitter hype was definitely truthful in that this was the best post raw to date. I love when you all stoll off into other topics as it’s entertaining to me. The first death that really hit me was Eddie Guerrero’s, since I started after Owen and just after Elizabeth. Eddie was one of my favorites and since it was the first major death in wrestling for me, it was the worst. Benoit was more shocking to me then sad, even before the aftermath as I was like, he missed the ppv and then is found dead in his home with his family…something doesn’t add up since like you said Cryssi, he had a reputation for never missing shows.

Anyways, fantastic PRS and I ‘marked’ for Jennifer’s foul mouth making its return!

  27. Amazing Post-RAW Show! God it had me laughing so freaking hard.

  28. Totally agree about the Alicia/Melina match. Although Eric makes a good point about why Alicia shouldn’t take the last call, I think that nobody should take the last call at all. I really wish Melina would make her moveset more basic. Most divas on the roster are inexperienced and can’t take those kind of moves.

Hey, if the divas can have a inflatable stage entrance, then why can’t MVP have his back. I miss his old entrance so much :-(

It is sad that I enjoyed a gimmick divas match more than a title feud buildup match. Wa Wa!

Watch the language Jennifer! This is a PG show and kids might be watching ;-)

To death that struck out to me had to be Eddie Guerrero. Since I’m 17, I don’t have a long wrestling history. But that death changed wrestling even bigger than some of the ones deaths you guys mentioned.

A think an all-divas match would fail. Typical male wrestling fans (except me lol) see diva matches as only bathroom/snack break. I can men can’t hold their bladders for at least five minutes :-(

  29. AWESOME show, guys! I’ve been having problems with my computor so I havnt been able to listen to the audio shows for ages, but I’m glad I caught this show (and Jeniffers potty mouth). By far, the biggest death in wrestling that affected me was Owen Hart. Words cannot discribe the shock I felt when I heard the news. Chris Beniot was also an unbelievable shock. Anywho, great show peeps!

  30. I thought Melina and Alicia had a good showing and nice in rig chemistry, It’s understandable that things would be a little botched with this being Melina’s first match on live tv since her injury. Everyone is entitled their opinion but i feel people are overreacting to the botched moves and calling for Melina and Alicia to change their move sets. While and overly botched match can lead to serious injury, i personally like to see a few botches in a match because it aids an air of realism to something that is choreographed and planned out in advance. When you have suspend your belief seeing something happen that wasn’t planned or doesn’t go quite right often allows me to accept it and get into it more. The gimmick match was good as well it struck the right balance of being cheesy and putting forth a solid athletic effort by all women involved. The best thing WWE could do for the Divas in my opinion is either take them all off of Raw and move them to Superstars and SD. The Divas tend to get more time and focus on these two shows, you could use Superstars to test new gimmicks or programs, continue them on SD since both shows are taped on Tuesday in order anyhow, then treat the Divas title like they do the US or IC title, a junior title with the Women’s belt being the top prize. The more realistic option though is to have two Diva segments on Raw, One hour a serious wrestling match for more devoted wrestling fans and a light hearted silly gimmicky match during the second hour for the casual fans, seems simple enough and you broaden the fan base.

  31. I miss Erin on these post Raw shows! Anyway, I feel that they should have at least waited 4 weeks to actually put Melina in a singles match but instead they should have placed her in tag team match because if they did that her skills would improve much faster. I remember back in 2003 when Lita returned she wasn’t placed in a singles match for almost a month I believe. I wish wwe would take the time and build a storyline between the two ladies instead of forcing them in a match. Its sad!

  32. loved the show, I always laugh so hard

  33. The McMahon-Helmsely Era really got be into wrestling. I always loved Stephanie as a character, she was so good at being a bitch it was amazing. She can play a good face too because I loved her feud with sable, their cat fights were so heated, intense, and vicious, and her feud with Trish was really nice too. I find it surprising that Trish vs Stephanie is one of my favorite womens’ wrestling matches ever and at the time they weren’t really considered real pro wrestlers. I guess that proves that storyline development, character development, story telling, and ring psychology sometimes is more important then simply being a good athlete in pro wrestling. Basically acting > athletics at least when the character and story are good anyway.

That why if I ever get into wrestling I want to be a manager/pure onscreen character because I’m not an athlete by any stretch of the word but I believe I have a certain quality as a character that could get people’s attention and even win some fans over. Jennifer called me creepy when I wrote that one response about Kaval and me. That was one aspect of my personality that stood out and was different than most people because I really am in my own world and I can be very over the top naturally when I do open up to people because I’m just weird like that.

P.S. – I think Yugi’s outfight reminds my of some weird dominatrix costume with the whole belt around his neck thing(u see weird, random me strikes again). Also, I started watching this anime called Higarashi no Naku Koro ni and the show is pretty disturbing but the opening though is pretty cool though(2 strikes for me gosh I’m strange oh well HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!).

  34. About the 1 hour diva show, you guys missed out on the main draw for the show. The women. There are fans of women’s wrestling, and there are the rest of the wrestling fans that love to “watch the divas.” They complain over their wrestling skills, but they love to watch the divas. A one hour Divas show will at least get better ratings than Superstars. They could bring in Kong and a few more girls to spice things up and they would have a great weekly one hour show.

  35. @ohiofan1 They say that as a joke, but how many of them do you think really went to take a piss during the match? If they always did that, then they wouldn’t know any details of the match. They always say the “piss joke” then go on to say details of the match. They love to watch the divas, they just say jokes about their wrestling skills.

  36. I’m 99.6% sure I could book an interestingly weekly show given the current group of girls. I like the idea of bringing in occasional stars like Kong (almost like an indie show) and I think you could bring in Miz, Jericho, etc. from time to time. A solid tag title division and a Women’s title division, plus a talk show (where is Abe Washington??) and a catchy theme song and I think we are golden. Oh, and Beth would be the champion and ruler of the world. So there is always that. (Gasp! Did I just mark out?!?)

  37. “They say that as a joke, but how many of them do you think really went to take a piss during the match? If they always did that, then they wouldn’t know any details of the match. They always say the “piss joke” then go on to say details of the match. They love to watch the divas, they just say jokes about their wrestling skills.”

The “piss break” comment often doesn’t include the person saying it. It just means that the person witnessed other fans leaving their seats during the Divas match. Sometimes it does include the person saying it, and that’s when you get reports that are nothing but the result of the match with no details.

  38. Chryssi I am with you. I love the Nexus and if I could be in the WWE’ I would love to manage them and be an occassional aggressive wrestler.

I think with the right bookings. An hour-long All-Divas show could happen and work. Start the show off with a few good gimmick matches build the divas up and as the show progesses start to have regular matches more and more. Invite a few male superstars (some from FCW too as well as females) once in a while.

I miss how the WWE used to invest time in the Divas. Even before Trish and Lita, the divas had invested time. Now it’s just like they care but don’t have the time. I do believe it is a lot more Divas on RAW than SD and that could have something to do with it. If they moved some divas to SD then maybe they could invest sometime.

I want a fued with Gail Kim and Kaval. Don’t know why. I hope he comes to Raw. That would epic.

This is my first time listening to the show and I loved it. Good job.
