God this takes me back when candice was in her prime!!
imo 2007 was the best year the divas have ever had
Did anyone else hear that sick sounding thud when McCool was eliminated? This was a decent battle royal.
Beth really did enter the title picture overnight, didn’t she? We really didn’t know anything about her back then, bar the fact that she had some sort of problem with Mickie. It’s great to see how far she’s come.
What I also liked about this match was both JR and King noting the rivalry between Mickie and Melina, like when King said that even if she didn’t win the Battle Royal, Melina would have accomplished at least one goal following this match (that being eliminating Mickie). It was minor, but it was a nice little touch, given that they weren’t technically feuding on screen at this point.
My favourite Diva SummerSlam moment was definitely Melina crying over Mick Foley’s bloody body in the I Quit match vs. Flair. That was when it became apparent that she really could be a strong face given the opportunity. It was great that they had her play such an important role in arguably the most popular and notable match on that card, and it’s a shame that they never properly capitalized on that angle.

The summer of 1998, Sable/Edge vs Jacqueline/Mero…awsome match, gotta love Sable.

After looking at this match, it’s no wonder that in battle royal, the divas don’t go over the top rope. Melina really struggled to get over that top rope. I remember Ashley and the Bellas also struggling alot to get over the top rope in other battle royals.
oh this takes me back, Candice used to be my favorite simply because she worked hard to get where she was at that point in her career and she showed a ton of heart. It broke my heart when she got hurt later that year especially now because that was the beginning of the end of her career which is a shame because she was just really getting started being a good competitor. I guess I can be happy though because she had a nice run and she has an adorable baby girl now :)

the bookers and blockers in wwe need to watch this to show that there can be story prgression and real wrestling in a multi diva match. if ths type of match was done today it would have been a spotfest/clusterfuck. but there it worked so well it was crisp and looked awesome its a shame how much they have fallen in 3 years i just hope they get back to here
i loved this match, but hated when torrie was eliminated. lol.
looking back at this, i’m proud of michelle. she has grown SO much in her time in WWE. like her or not, you can’t deny that the girl is now a top WWE diva.
I remember when diva battle royals were exciting. Now its like bam, bam, bam, winner. Even the Halloween battle royal was awesome. Beth really did rise quickly, and it wasn’t a bad thing and i never felt like she was being shoved down our throats. It was exciting to see Torrie as one of the last three. The best was thing was the minor, minor Melina/Mickie part, as someone pointed out. Awesome match to be honest.
I’m not a huge fan of diva battle royals. But I liked this one simply because it was Beth’s huge win and set up her feud with Candice.
With Madusa being featured on WWE again, I’m shocked that Diva Dirt didn’t showcase Alundra Blayze vs Bull Nakano though from 1994, which is still the best women’s match to take place at a Summerslam. Incredible wrestling and heat from the crowd.
I loved that Torrie made it to the final 3 divas…. and I’m still shocked how Torrie eliminated Jillian but didn’t eliminate Mickie

4:20 maria was sloppy as the reason why i dont & havent liked her…
torrie covering up for mickie & jillians misfire out of the ring was good…i wish they pushed torrie & had her win she looked amazing here..
