Diva Dirt reader, Armando attended last night’s double Raw taping at the Staples Center and recorded footage of the segment that will air next week on Raw.
As a reminder, WWE taped two weeks of Raw last night due to the company embarking on a tour of Japan this week. This footage will air next Monday, August 23rd.

oh forgot, it would have been a great story device if Jillian won, after all Melina took Jillian’s title right after she won it, it would have been cool if Jillian did the same
Iffy match, but it was the best between the two.

The match looked quite bad in my opinion, the ending was just blah. Howhever, I’m interested in the Laycool storyline, I wonder what they’ll do on the 900th episode of RAW.
I think the match looks quite deceant. And I wonder if Laycool will ask if she wants to join them or if they want a match for the title OR if they want her to move to smackdown.
That match didn’t look bad at all to me O_o I read the comments first and was expecting sloppy or crapness and never saw any. Unique spots, done well, looked good to me. Loved the segment after with Laycool.
The match wasn’t so bad… there were parts I liked…
I am hoping… like wishing that wwe doesn’t unify the titles… or make the Womens Title into a tag team title…. Its a slap in the face to the past holders…
Just make laycool challenge Melina but don’t give them the title…

the match wasnt bad but jillian missing a butt drop of the 2nd rope then gets up & bends for melina to hit the sun set bomb was kinda lame..
3 minute match & it didnt feel like one.
lay-cool got a small boo from the crowd,michelles voice kills the crowd lol..
This was a good match no botches no nothing.
As for laycool being on raw it’s a shame the writers for raw didn’t put this much effort for the girls already on raw.
I would love for this to culminate in a swap, where Melina goes to SD and LayCool go to Raw. From a creative perspective it would make sense: LayCool have run out of challengers on SD, and they did mention something about that at SS if memory serves. They can’t keep having Kelly vs LayCool forever, so them coming to Raw opens up a whole new talent pool to feud with over titles and whatnot, i.e. Gail, Alicia, Maryse. It would also make sense in getting them over as proper heels- they don’t get much reaction on SD, so see how they do on Raw.
Melina in return would go to Smackdown, possibly to feud with a debuting AJ, which would be epic, or even Beth again. I wouldn’t even mind someone like Kelly or Tiffany challenging for and winning the Diva’s title, as it’s good training title in my eyes, to see how someone gets over as champion. It also leaves people like Natalya, Gail, even Jillian, to challenge for the Women’s title on Raw, which has a bit more prestige than the Diva’s.
Unfortunately, this will probably never happen, and it will just be either unification, which would suck giant donkey bollocks, or LayCool holding both titles, which I’m not totally against, but not really excited for either.
Jillian and Melina are always really good in the ring together, they have some good chemistry and Jillian sells that sunset flip powerbomb like no one else. Loves it.
I hope this isn’t the end of Jillian’s raw air time though ><
so does this mean to Melina on Smackdown? since LayCool said they haven’t seen her since SummerSlam i guess we won’t see her on SD! but this is getting me very excited now, hopefully Melina vs Michelle McCool, i mean 3/4 of their singles matches were unbelievable (the lumberjill match was ‘mehh’)
i guess this also means the K2/LayCool feud is over & hopefully AJ Lee will make an appearance on SD! since we are lacking faces
Damn you, Tiffany! Sometimes I’m afraid of what’s happening next with the Divas…
I REALLY, REALLY hope that they don’t unify the Women’s and Divas Championships, I mean just last night they literally unified the Tag Team championship into one belt for a good reason. This time for the ladies, it’s not. I’m assuming now that the creative team is definitely copying off of The Beautiful People and making Lay-Cool the faces of the Divas division by having them hold both titles. Now this time, I really want Melina to retain. And what are they going to call the titles if they unify them? WWE Women’s Divas Championship (kinda like TNA Women’s Knockouts Championship)? Ugh, I don’t even want to think about it.
Since they are short on Divas, why don’t they temporarily make it into an undisputed championship like the World Heavyweight and WWE titles? That was back when the roster wasn’t as big as now, and when the roster increased they un-undisputed them (is that even a word?).
I still don’t think it’s fair that all the men get to have two titles (except the Tag Team titles, of course) and that the women [will likely] only have one. It pisses me off that either the Women’s Championship will be deactivated for the THIRD time or that the Divas Championship will be deactivated after only two years of existence or simply unifying them into one title.This really bites.

After the match: I think Layla should talk from now on, Michelle’s voice is not appealing to my ears.
if i was a part of creative i would use next week to bring up Aj Lee and Liviana as Melina’s sisters and have them fued with laycool on smackdown
That match was good, i think some of you are down playing it because in the past they haven’t had a lot of chemistry but this match to me was fun. it played up Melina’s flexiblity and had some nice spots. The after match promo was fine and built up for aug 30th, which is a big show
i really hope that melina will stay champ in join laycool her gimmick fits the team
the match was quite good. I’m glad alicia didn’t get her rematch TBH, i’m not her biggest fan but she would have just jobbed to Melina for the 3rd time in a row so she actually looks stronger not getting beaten again. I’m quite excited to see Jillian get a singles match. I’m not going to get my hopes up but for the love of god give her a push!
The laycool thing looks interesting, i want to see where this is going. I would love for them to move to raw but we all know it isn’t going to happen so the crossover thing works well for the time being. Much better than Laycool vs Kelly for the 435359th time!
I would rather hear Michelle’s voice than Layla’s high pitched over the top voice.
As for crowd reaction goes the majority of the Raw audience does not watch Smackdown, so of course you cannot expect Laycool to get massive heel heat over night. The over heel in wwe left a couple years ago and that was Lita.
As for the match itself, it was okay i expected more from two experienced wrestlers, Jillian had her chance to shine and she failed. But I did like the surfboard spot when Jillian was riding on Melina’s back.
I hope this push (or at least i hope it is) with Jillian means something because if not they could’ve had a match that didn’t involve the title. I was hoping there would be a continuation of the little bickering between Maryse and Alicia and well i just laugh at the thought of the Creative Team being creative.
The LayCool storyline sounds really good. Then again it is also a potential disaster. I hope they take this storyline into a good direction and not unifying the titles.

I’m confused as to why Melina had to defend it so soon and against Jillian of all people…anyway, I didn’t really like that match, at all…It just seemed like they were just doing moves…I don’t know, and it seemed slow and Melina didn’t do much until the end, when she won…sound familiar? I get so nervous watching her now because it’s not hard to F up your ACL after it has been before. Maybe this match will look better on my TV screen..

Nice match from both considering a lot of their other matches were a let down because of botches. As for the inter-brand fued, I’d love to see another Michelle vs Melina match so I’m really hoping they go that route because they have had great matches in the past.
Suprisingly it was a really good match even though I don’t think it should have happened. Alicia should have got her rematch here. Looking foward to seeing LayCool’s offer.

Me too. It was the only interesting thing the Raw divas have done since Maryse came back for me. =(
wwe has melina less active bekuz she tweaked her lerg at ss and they dnt want her to be re injured which is smart i used to get tweaks all the time wit my acl but they melinas is really minir and she will start 2 get physical again in 3 weeks
@I <3 Maryse i have a feeling Melina might lose the title so wwe are probably trying to make her title reign credible.

I haven’t thought about that. It would be nice if they did. Even though I don’t care much for LayCool. But bringing Melina to Smackdown after she loses her title to a Raw Diva (hopefully Jillian) would be good competition on the SD show. And if Tiffany isn’t released, we could get a new feud. Tiffany vs Melina. Melina could be LayCool aggressor or frienemy or whatever!
This would give other Raw Divas new angles and matches and feuds and so on. :/
I can imagine it happening as LayCool challenges Melina at NOC and the stipulations are: If Melina wins she could stay on Raw and keep the title, but if Laycool wins, Melina has to join them on Smackdown and vacate the title (only LayCool can be the champions and no one outshines them [Layla's words or Michelle whoever]). Of course LayCool wins with Michelle (I’m cringing now) winning the bout and Melina is on Smackdown! There are many things that could come from that.
On Raw we have a Divas Battle Royal for the title and Jillian wins! [SHE SO DESERVES IT!!!] A feud with Alicia (Jillian retains). So on!
But sadly I am NOT a writer for the WWE, so this won’t be happening. BOO YOU WWE!!!
Layla should lose the Women’s Championship. Then Michelle beat the fuck out of whoever beat Layla for it and becomes Women’s Champ. Then, in a handicap match Layla defeats Melina, and becomes Divas Champion. Michelle and Layla are Queens of WWE. Say no more. :)
