Developmental Diva AJ Lee worked Sunday’s SmackDown brand house show in Odessa, Texas against Women’s Champion, Layla.

The FCW talent worked as a babyface in the match. Report below via AdamBombOi:

First things first, I have to say that Layla is EASILY the most beautiful and gorgeous woman I have ever seen in my life. Just absolutely stunning.

Layla enters first, followed by AJ Lee (who was billed from Odessa, TX – I’m assuming they’re doing this for all house shows to get the crowd behind her from the get go… which worked immediately).

“REAL TALK!” – Layla cuts a promo about her being simply flawless, and jokingly looks at AJ and says, “THIS, THIS is the best Odessa has to offer? Give me a break!”

The match starts out slow, but picks up, only to get slow again, great psychology from Layla, working on Lee’s head and neck the WHOLE match. She get’s Lee in a headlock with her legs, becomes VERY boisterous with the crowd mocking them to the point of doing push-ups while still having the scissored headlock on. GREAT moment, had me cracking up.

Layla was all over AJ, but Lee did get in a lot of offense, VERY fast paced and a bit of high flying action from her, before being grounded by Layla again, who hit a GREAT low dropkick to the back of her head and neck. The two had great chemistry with one another – the end came when Layla hit her “LayOut” neckbreacker. Again I stress, Layla El is absolutely stunning.

There are a lot of pictures on the blog which you can see here.

  1. THATS MY WIFE AJ LEE :D wow really hope she comes to SD Now

  2. Finally some positive news

  3. Well finally some good news. Looks like there’s hope for Smackdown’s womens division. Its on Life Support now, but AJ Lee is just the woman to make things right. She’s got a beautiful headscissors and is very agile. Let’s get her on TV Creative!! ASAP.

  4. There are a few house show matches on Youtube with Layla. She totally carries herself as a champion and brings so much personality to her matches. I would love to see what Layla could do on her own as the champion. I really would.. But that ain’t gonna happen soon. =/

  5. Well I’m kind of happy now, but I still wanted to see Aj and Sereana fued on Smackdown.

  6. Well this is a bit of good news for Smackdown I hope

  7. One of my girls leave and another arrives…hmm

  8. Well this is a bit of good news for Smackdown I hope.

  9. it kinda sucks because aj and serena have awesome chemistry i love all their matches in FCW

  10. yayyy shes so pretty come on aj knock laycool out

  11. …I just hope that they’re only doing the whole from TX thing for the houseshows as the report says because on FCW it says she is from Jersey, which is where I’m from and rarely are superstars ever titled billed from Jersey and it’d be cool to have a hometown hero from Jersey, FOR ONCE.<3

Anyway, AJ will only be an amazing addition to the Smackdown Roster and it looks like she's going to be a face? Even better because no offense to Kelly, or Rosa – but I think AJ has a lot more experience. Well, actually that's pretty obvs. This is all good news for AJ, hope to see her on TV, soon.

  12. Good, hope she gets a full time spot. Even though AJ is pretty small she’s quick, agile and above all GOOD.

  13. I just hope she doesn’t get lost in the shuffle with Beth Phoenix. It’d be cool for her to debut, feud with Laycool and then after losing a match against Layla for the title bringing back Beth as back up.

  14. I agree with xfrenchTKO

WEEE need a Jersey hometown wrestler. Jay Lethal?? Ehhh

And that is ONE HOT Photo of AJ Lee above. Her face expression just shows…HEEL!!!

  15. As much I <3 her I see her getting the gail treatment !!!

    4 those of u didn't know wwe dosn't like indy talents :(

  16. She will 100% be coming to Smackdown.

  17. I may be speaking a bit too early, but I think that AJ will fill in the void that Mickie left. Not in terms of her becoming the “Next Mickie James,” but in terms of the crowd really getting behind AJ. The fans usually always cheer on the underdog and I think that’s why Mickie, Trish, etc. got crowd reactions because of their height could’ve been used against them but they had the willpower to continue on in matches. I can see AJ having the same luck, either way – management will edit in the crowd cheers, lol.

@DarknessRuler: THANKYOU!<3 Jersey needs someone amazing to represent for them and AJ is that girl. Either way, whether or not Jersey get's ripped off – we all know where our hometown girl is really frommmm.<3

  18. Sounds great.

  19. God, bring her up ASAP, although I’d like to see some of her hype promos. Even though she only had one match, with Serena gone, it looks even more likely that the titles will be unified as Smackdown’s talent pool is so shallow. :(

  20. yes aj lee wooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    congrats girl

  21. I’m still predicting that she’ll be the star female rookie on NXT, with Melina as her pro.

  22. Can’t wait till AJ Lee has her first title around her waist. I hope she debuts before october.

  23. They say that she would debut after Del Rio, so they already working on that. Wouldn’t be surprised to see her debut next week.

  24. Good for her sites are saying that SD is going to get beefed up before their SyFy debut. So maybe some girls will come over from Raw with AJ

  25. After Savannah, Courtney Taylor, Serena and possibly Tiffany, i hope AJ has move luck than her predecessors. It’s been almost 2 years since a FCW diva (Rosa) made a jump to the main roster without getting fired (yet).

  26. Courtney Taylor; I had already forgotten about her. I’m surprised she hasn’t ended up getting a TNA tryout, given her “Playboy” looks and at the very least better ring skills than Velvet. I guess maybe she retired from wrestling when she was fired, one of the many models only in it for the fame.

  27. lets hope wwe started airing her promos & get her to attack lay-cool & lay them out with her high flying moves & give her a good finisher..
