As we mentioned on the site last night, former WWE Diva, Katie Lea — Kat Waters — was at last night’s TNA Impact taping, taking part in a tryout match against former Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne.
TNA’s Jeremy Borash, on his Twitter page, wrote: “The former Katie Lea Burchill did great in her TNA dark match tonight. Future Knockout?”
Speaking to a reliable source, I’m told that both Kat, who worked as ‘Katie Larue’, and Madison were impressive in their match together and had good chemistry. Furthermore, Kat was said to be ‘well liked’ backstage.
As we noted yesterday, there has been interest in the former Diva for quite some time.
No doubt, Kat is an excellent talent, so it would be great to see her land on her feet (no pun intended) in TNA. Good luck, Kat!

Good, and I hope they use her right. Katie is one of the best wrestlers out there right now. She’s been fantastic for years, and it’s a shame her work with Mickie wasn’t great, because if they’d clicked then I really think she’d be in a good position in WWE right now.

I’d like to see her on the roster, however if it’s under the whole ‘goth’ phase, it doesn’t interest me. I mean Daffney is there, why not use her? And Daffney is way over, yet she’s left off the shelf. I mean it sound obvious, but I’d find Kat more suited to a role within Desmond Wolfe, Rob Terry, Magnus or Doug Williams (then sling Chelsea out) it just seems like they’re pulling her in for her name, when they’re not using what they’ve got.
I’m glad she’s picked herself up, but at the same time it just feels like they could do with building their own talent instead of roping her in. I mean (it’s been said loads recently) why not build a star of their own in Mia Yim? Instead of relying on ‘Katie Lea Burchill’ to elevate Kat into TNA? I’m assuming she worked face for the match?

Im dieing to see something from madison vs katie at least screen captures , i feel like the match was good and i can see them both having alot of chemistry. Katie Lea was my 3rd favourite diva in WWE so im glad she might be going to TNA.
Plus Having katie go up against my favourite knockout is super nice to hear because madison is such an amazing wrestler and will sell katie’s moves right so glad she wasnt put in a match w/ Lacey or Velvet.

Id give her a makeover if I was in charge. Turn her blonde and pair her with her “new boyfriend” Desmonde Wolfe or Rob Terry. She could be a stuck up british blonde very interested in money. She’s beautiful and I think she’d look better as a blonde. The problem with TNA is that they need to know how to use their talent. Such a shame so many people get misused all because these dumb writers can’t come up with jack shyt.
OMFG hell yeah the beautiful Katarina waters one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES will do great i mean amazing i do agree with -Looking Glass and yes Daffney deserves more yet maybe TNA isn’t wise enough to make it on their own. like what i’m reffering to is they more likely focus on former stars than there own and i find it totally unfair but i am UBER-HAPPY for katarina it’s not like she was big in WWE (they were idiotic they didn’t use her to her full potential) she’ll be awesome they can alligned her with Mr.Desmond Wolfe<3! whom i Love plus there good freinds so i hear i always wanted a Chealsea vs Katie feud lmao winnner takes all plus Desmond loser leaves lol but seriosuly i don't think Chelsea will last long i mean she's only a valet (not that they don't last long) but if they do go through this my ideas are katarina will prevail muahahaha maybe i'm going overboard i'm just so happy i HOPE that she gets signed and be THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND GIMMICK! not the Goth queen never liked it i mean i did but i prefer her AS THE QUEEN! lol i hope Christina gets a contract too i like her <3!
But the thing is with TNA, you don’t have to have been BIG in WWE to get a push in TNA. You just have to have been in WWE. Period.
Let’s hope they sign her and actually use her properly. Being an ex-WWE star might work in her favor and maybe that means she wont end up as a Jobber (melissa or daffney), or disappear from tv 8 months/year (hamada, taylor).
And dont turn her into a valet for the ‘new new british invasion’, or whatever they are called.
Im in two minds about this…
A HUGE part of me would be really happy if she joined TNA, she is a an amazing wrestler who deserved so much more while she was in WWE and i’ve always been a fan……..but another part of me feels that her arrival would hinder the other knockouts for example Sarita, Taylor, Daffney and Hamada.
Its obvious that TNA will push her straight to the top, because TNA like to prove points to WWE on showing them what they’ve missed ( not that seeing her on t.v a lot is a bad thing).
The above mentioned knockouts are going to remain under used and there talents are going to be wasted just like katies was in WWE.
If only the knockouts division was what it once was.

I really love Katie,I really do!But I don’t really want to see Katie gets signed by TNA.After all,the sequence is so damn obvious.Initially,they will give her a heavenly push to the moon,then crush her down so hard into deep underground before release her from contract.

Really hope TNA sign Katie AND USE HER PROPERLY. She has talent. The only but is that TNA have a number of KOs at present and with their airtime being sadly and wrongly reduced I’m not sure that the roster gets a full chance. But I’d still sign her and use her mainly a a wrestler..
As for some of the other comments yes I’d love to see even photos from her match with Madison, two decent workers, shame this match won’t appear on Impact. As for turning her blonde well even going back to her European days as Nikita she has never to my knowledge been blonde. But she may not need to retain the “goth” image, just let her looks and talent do the job.
And I’d of thought she could still wrestle for Shimmer if she and Shimmer wanted assuming dates do not coincide. After all Kong, Melissa, Hamada and Madison (Ashley Lane) appeared for Shimmer while under TNA contract – only restriction seems to be that TNA signed workers do not hold Shimmer titles as these can be defended in ROH.
Provided that they start taking the division seriously again, Kat is an awesome signing. WWE really missed the boat with her. She’s talented, pretty AND she can cut good promos.
i hope she signs, i want to see her on TV again. Leave her hair dark though! I can’t really imagine her as a blonde and in any case dark hair doesn’t always equal goth.

Trevor Murdoch hmm? what happened with him used as a jobber, Orlando jordan too,( i don’t want Katie to suffer this) but also Jackie moore,Jackie Gayda etc its not always what you think not because your from WWE jobber/former big star your gonna get big in TNA dosen’t happen that way maybe in her case she will be pushe dheavinly but never predict what might happen because in TNA you get the unexpected Tara kayfaybe fired, then Tara reunite with Madison anyone?
