Serena’s release is just a rumor right now and hasn’t been confirmed by WWE yet. There is still hope.
I agree with seasons-of-love, if thare’s any truth to this, there must’ve been a major incident between Serena and management for them to get rid of her. After that great showing on Smackdown lastweek, something must’ve happened following up to her alledged release.

No! Melanie, hopefully you can get the scoop on this one. Serena is an amazing talent…sigh, so I guess they’re holding off on Tiffanys release too? I mean what do they want? To have LayCool as the only Divas on Smackdown? This is sad news..
3 possibilites: 1- false rumour, 2- she screwed up somehow off-screen or 3- they’re breaking up the SES and “have nothing for her creatively”.

It had to be something serious. Usually when they release someone in the middle of a storyline it’s something backstage.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed. It’s never good to hear someone may have lost a job. Espically since Sereana worked her ass off to get noticed by the WWE. I just PWI is wrong. She’s like the only reason I watch smackdown after Mickie left and Beth got injured.

What are they going to do with the Smackdown Divas now? Move them all to Raw and unify the titles? At this rate, I definitely see that happening.

Maybe I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t impressed with her on SD. Still, kinda odd. But not really surprising when the rumor came out that the only reason she got called up is because she was the only chick willing to shave her head in FCW.
Torrie confirmed that she was in fact released and then WWE changed their minds.

Aww that’s the only reason she got called up? I know its show business but fuck, these people can be so heartless. I mean do they forget their humanity or what? This is very upsetting. I hate it when they fire people in the middle of a storyline. Atleast in a sitcom your written off. In WWE they just never mention you again.

When I read “Smackdown Diva Released” on another website, I thought it was Tiffany lol.
I won’t say anything else until I see WWE makes it official. It really would suck if it was true.

They’ve fired Gail before too when she was about to play Trish’es ally against Lita back in late 04. That pissed me right off. They fired The Kat two nights(Smackdown taping)after No Way Out 2001 while in the middle of a storyline with RTC. She was supposed to seduce Richards and the rest of the RTC guys leading to a break up. But again, she was let go. Jacqueline got fired right after she lost the Cruiserweight Championship to Chavo Guerrero. I forget the year…05? Can’t recall. Ivory got fired when the show she hosted(along with Todd)WWE Experience got cancelled. I don’t know what happened to Stacy..and I hated Candice got released. =(

I specifically remember WWE.com putting up an article denying the report that Torrie had been released because she had been getting calls offering her work when she was actually still with WWE. The article even had a comment from Torrie saying that she called WWE to see if they had fired her without bothering to tell her.
I think this is one of the most absurd things EVER!
Forget to mention this about the Torrie thing, but she was actually off Raw for a month, not just one episode, and it was reported later that it was time off she had requested and was given.

Call me as heartless as the WWE, but I am failing to see how she’s important to the S.E.S. gimmick. All she does is just like hold Punk’s hand and stands in the background for the most part. Umm.. You are telling me they can’t find another diva for that spot?
It took them a while to take down other people’s profiles & MJ’s release was broken by other news sites before WWE.com reported it. We’re not posting/reporting rumors willy-nilly, we waited until confirmation from PWInsider because they’re 99.9% reliable.
Ebmich: Please. Watch Serena’s SHIMMER matches, she is fantastic in the ring. She had to dumb down her skill level for WWE’s pace plus the storyline that she’s only been training a couple of months.

No shit they can all be replaced…the whole point is we as viewers(granted not all of us..)get attached to the characters. Not to mention those who have followed some of these people from the start. Everyone has got their supporters. So yes, naturally its going to upset some of us. Are they replaceable? Yes. But does it make sense to fire someone in the middle of a story? No. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were a writer for RAW. Your logic is as good as theirs….:s
I read a another report by David Meltzer and it said “the firing happened several days ago but word just got out today and its was a disciplinary firing”
