Well think about it. What other woman in FCW is willing to get all of their hair shaven off? No one. I remember that article someone in Diva Dirt posted about why Serena moved up and it’s all because she stepped up to the plate sacrificing her hair. I’m in no way bashing AJ Lee when I say this but did she even have the guts to put up her hair on the line to move up? I don’t think so. Serena knew what she needed to sacrifice so she did it to move up to national exposure and neither of the other girls didn’t want to do it so she out of the many in FCW stepped up and did what a lot couldn’t have done.
So to amswer your question no they couldn’t have found someone like Serena to do the SES storyline because most of the girls there at the time were too scared to lose all of their hair…. Serena knows how hard the business is and knew she had to make some sacrifices so when she saw an opportunity she took it and went along

@JaviousMcKenzie – I’m sorry to hear that it has bothered you that much. Truthfully with WWE we shouldn’t be so shocked since they pull this kind of thing every year. On the brightside, Serena might be welcomed to TNA with open arms. Isn’t she friends with some of the girls there? Besides that, her resume/work speaks for itself, nobody can deny she’s a fabulous worker. TNA is usually good about recognizing talented female workers. Ofcourse, the way they utilize their talent is another story..but atleast they can pick them. Who knows? Maybe this is a blessing in disguise? TNA is supposedly intent on rebuilding their womens division…with the recent tryouts, the resigning of Tara, and the talks with Mickie James and Katie Lea; Serena might fit in perfectly. It certainly would make for a big and diverse womens division. One we haven’t seen in a long while.
I suspect Serena’s breasts were PG-14. :)
All kidding aside I find it interesting that Tiffany hasn’t been released only getting suspension for a public mis-action, but Serena gets the axe instantly for possibly something less.

I really hope it’s not true, though it may be because of the awkward spots in the Kelly/Show vs S.E.S Match. But, They didn’t release Jackie Gayda after that horrible botch fest so I’d imagine it’s for something else.

…Usually, I’m supportive behind WWE because I remind myself that it’s their company and a lot of their decisions are good from a business standpoint. But right now, all I can think of is WTF?! If this is true then WWE just made one of their dumbest decisions!! Serena was one of their most dedicated workers (men + women) THERE! she was the only diva in FCW that was willing to her head shaved. And beyond that, she had a sex appeal (IMO) to her and she was a good wrestler. This better be just a rumor because they’re really going to regret dropping her if TNA picks her up.

The WWE wouldn’t announce that they had released her until after her last appearance has aired so that means it probably won’t be announced till Friday night/Saturday. If this is true… which I so hope it’s not, I’m praying its like not a permanent release, like its a demotion from main programming. Then maybe she’ll grow her hair back and return later? Ugh. I just hope this is bull. Serena deserves so much better. She should’ve been women’s champion in a year or so! :(

You have to remember this week’s SD! was taped last week. The WWE can’t announce they released Serena yet when she’ll be appearing against Kelly and Big Show in a rematch.

Oh no!!I hope this is nothing but just another false rumour.. :( She is a decent wrestler as well as a dedicated performer(I mean,just look at how she got her hair shaved when she first arrived in WWE)..She could have made a nice face or a bad ass heel and not some SES sidekick.
Sources in WWE are saying the reason for Serena’s release was because she was not “living out” the Straight Edge Society gimmick in public.
:O .. I just hope that this is a rumor. Serena went bald for the company & this is what they do to her. Well Smackdown has gone right down & not just in the women’s division. Tiffany might be going & i don’t see Rosa staying for much longer, they’ll only have kelly & laycool. Thankgod that they are doing divas for the next NXT. So then they can ship of 2 of them to Smackdown.

I think someone has started this rumor and it became increasingly strong. So I will believe when the WWE post her released.
After the news that she was fired from the WWE, WWE has updated they news and not say anything Serena getting fired, the FCW roster also been updated and she still in. And she is getting a big push in FCW.

Could it because of her lackluster match on Smackdown!. The fact they say she isn’t living the S.E.S gimmick in public is because she’s not straight edge. It’s liking say Maryse is not being a bitch all the time in real-life, therefore she should be released. If true, this is a massive shame.

She must have gotten the “Roxxi” syndrome. Heck, Roxxi stayed longer in TNA than Serena did in WWE. Yes, she was under WWE developmental FCW and OVW. But this one was rushed. Serena must have done something bad with WWE staff. They didn’t fire Tiffany, but they can someone who isn’t “a Playboy.” Probably Johnny Ace said, “which one? Oh yeah! The one who isn’t pictoral enough to look at. So I’m going to keep the pretty one.” Foolish man.
I’m honestly starting to think this is all true. But didn’t they announce Mickie’s release before her last Smackdown episode? Besides that, if they really did release Serena for not being straight-edge in public, there are some issues to point out. Serena doesn’t strike me as a person who would rebel or not take a role seriously, because obviously if you’re going to play a straight-edge person you might as well not drink or smoke in public. However, if she did slip up and drank or smoked in public, management should have told her to stop and Serena would have (knowing that she will comply, considering that she shaved her head). But the problem is when management has a problem with someone, they don’t always tell them (example: Mickie stated in interview that WWE never told her they had a problem with her weight and music career, yet they released her).
TBH, I’m starting to think that little angle of her slipping up was based on something in real life and was used to warn her (similar to the intention of the Piggie James video). I feel very bad for Serena for having her dream taken away from her.
We have had several “wake-up calls” of great workers being released, but this is ridiculous! WWE’s management needs a huge reformation because they constantly release people for petty things, yet keep the d-bags and steroid abusers. And if Serena was released due to a tight budget, then it was at the wrong time.
Another thing, what were the writers thinking when they had Joey Mercury join the SES (considering his past problems with drugs and alcohol)? And although he did enter rehab, he can probably slip at any time. But I hope he has the will to not do those things anymore.
Bad news for Serena (if its true), she made a lot of sacrifices to get into WWE, and they usually dont give 2nd opportunities. At least not when you are a woman.
But for her fans it would actually be a good thing. She is in the top-5 of best female wrestlers of the USA, and she already wasted a year in the WWE. I can’t wait to see her back in Shimmer against one of the Joshis, or the many other wrestlers she has yet to face.
WWE might as well disband their diva roster, they will soon run out of wrestlers to carry their models to a descent match. Soon we will only have matches like “Kelly vs Eve”, or “Bella Twins vs Maryse/Alicia” left.
How Sad….But tbh in my opinion she idnt really do much for me in SES , to me she was just their to follow punk around. I would have rather shee debut on SD as a Heel or Face….But I hope this is a rumor as much as wwe needs sum new divas releasing some of the best ones inst a great idea. Mickie , Katie & Serena…Wow wwe we now kno that you rather let the 3 of the greatest female wreslers go but you still have divas that do Head scissors , Camel Clutches , Botching running MooonSault’s , & lets not forget the boring ass swicting gimmick’s and they walk away like its all okay…
The more I reflect on this, the more I get annoyed. Serena shaved her head, got a nose job, and a boob job and moved closer to the training camp just so she could get a job. WWE was her priority, something I’m sure she lived and breathed, something that was the first thing she thought of when she woke up and the last thing she thought of at night. This is a travesty, and the apparent reason is a joke.
I’d be pissed if I had to shave my head for nothing.

This sucks :( If it is because she wasn’t living the straight edge life outside the ring then thats pathetic, who actually thinks the wrestlers act like they are portrayed on tv 24/7? Even the young kids realise that the wrestlers are acting. I’m hoping this is just a stupid rumour that has got out of hand.
I wanted to know what the hell WWE is smoking because they are really putting the nail in the Divas division on Smackdown and the Divas division in general. I can’t even begin to describe the idiotic mistakes they have made this year but here we go.
1. Release of Mickie James & Katie Lea. Mickie James had been the top Diva after Trish Stratus and Lita left and had great feuds with Melina and Beth Phoenix which got both Beth and Melina over. Mickie James was one the most popular Divas in the history of the WWE next to Trish Stratus. Katie Lea is a fine wrestler who was really never given a chance to shine. Katie Lea could have had a great run on Smackdown if they had given her a chance. At least TNA look at Katie Lea.
2. Beth Phoenix is injured during a match with Rosa one month after Mickie and Katie Lea’s release. I know accidents can happen anytime (that’s what they in their “Don’t Try This At Home” promos but I think the chances of someone getting injured is increased when you have someone in there who is still green in the ring. Rosa is way too green to be in ring and needs more training. Beth came at the worst time and the Smackdown Diva division has suffered because of it.
3. Tiffany is suspended by the WWE. Tiffany was one the few Divas to come out of model search who was learning quickly how to wrestle and was improving every week. Tiffany in a year would have been great for a push. Now the WWE has suspended her indefinitely for private incident in a hotel with her husband. Because of this, Smackdown was now to five Divas.
4. WWE shoving Kelly Kelly down our throats. WWE is really smoking something thinking that Kelly Kelly can be the next Trish \ Mickie. For one thing, there’s one Trish Stratus and one Mickie James. Nobody ever be able to replace them. Two and most importantly, Kelly Kelly can’t wrestle. I mean for crying out loud, Kelly Kelly can’t even do a simple dropkick and Kelly Kelly has been in the WWE for 4 years now. You would think that Kelly Kelly would be able to do a simple dropkick by now considering the number of male wrestlers she’s dated.
5. WWE not using the talents of Natalya, Gail Kim, Serena and Jillian Hall who are all great female wrestlers. Gail Kim has an awesome run in TNA as the first TNA Knockouts champion and had great matches with Awesome Kong which we still talk about. Does WWE give Gail a push or a tile run? No, they use her as a jobber to the likes of Maryse. Natalya, daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and niece of Bret “The Hitman” Hart; nuff said. Jillian Hall is the same as Gail, talent wasted as a jobber to the likes of the Bella Twins.
And now they release Serena who was only given a chance to wrestle last week and she had wrestle Kelly Kelly. Hell, the only reason Kelly Kelly looked good in that match was because of Serena. If the release is true; hopefully TNA will sign Serena once her no complete clause is up.
in the grand scheme of things, it’s not that big a loss.
what has she actually done, that’ll make everybody miss her? people weren’t too impressed with her debut match last week and she’s hardly that great of a valet. even though i like serena, i’d rather her not be wasting her talent for wwe.

that’s where you’re wrong. a lot of kids CAN’T tell real from fake. even if they can, they enjoy suspending the belief, as do adults. smarks would jump all over this if serena strayed off character and punk would come off as a hypocrite keeping a member who in any way wasn’t straight edge. the chants wouldn’t end and his character loses all credibility. serena agreed to portray the gimmick whenever in public when she signed up, and that included shaving her head and not be seen drinking. camera phones and up-to-the-minute internet news doesn’t allow slip ups anymore. if the reports are true, it’s her fault. even rey mysterio has to wear his mask everywhere he goes (the unmasked pic out there is from wcw, which wwe revisionist history ignores).

im shocked! How is SES going to build this up?! Well i kind of saw it coming because on smackdown her match was a hot mess she needed sometime but all i can say is FU WWE first savannah and now serena, let’s hope they replace serena w/ AJ.
