We’ll let you be the judge, but it seems as though the newly reformed Beautiful People, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky had some choice words on last night’s episode of TNA Reaction, the new behind-the-scenes ‘docu-drama’ which follows Impact.
“We created a group that has been like no other for women in professional wrestling. People have tried to be like this. People have tried to join us,” says Angelina.
A more feisty Velvet, chimed in saying: “For all you wannabe Beautiful People girls out there… and you know EXACTLY who I’m talking about… get a life. You will never be us.”
Meanwhile, Angelina adds: “You’re not cool, by the way.”
‘Cool’? Interesting choice of words…
So, were the original Beautiful People targeting WWE’s Lay-Cool, Layla and Michelle? Vote below:

Its obvious they were talking about them. That is one of the things I hate in TNA. They are always getting shots at WWE. They give them to much free publicity and they come across as jealous cry babies. Besides I think Laycool are way different than TBP. TBP are narcissistic girls with over sexualized movements while Laycool are just silly. Or if you want, TBP are like mean girls from college and Laycool are mean girls who act like children.
They shouldn’t say those things. It makes them look unprofessional and uncivilized.
Yes, but Tna always that shots at the Wwe. Kaz took at shot at the Nexus a couple weeks ago. TBP didn’t create that gimmick as that gimmick has been done way before they did it. It is just that they have been the most successful at it. Since LayCool started that gimmick, they have gotten popular as well and Tna just decided to take a cheap shot at them. You will never see the WWE take any shots at Tna because they don’t care about them. They are their own company and that is all they will worry. Tna should have the same mental idea, but with Bischoff and Hogan running the company, that’s out of the question I guess. Surely, they would know that cheap shots don’t work by looking back at the WCW days. It’s like what Vince McMahon says, “He who laughs last, laughs the loudest.”
I agree with Ana_Nattie_rules. I find it pathetic that TNA always take shots at WWE. It’s most likely jealousy I expect, at the fact that LayCool are far superior! :D

But Laycool was originally WWE’s own TBP but Laycool has just become better than TBP…
TBP pretty much all look a like and and are mostly sloppy in the ring and dress badly… Laycool is better in the ring, promos and you can tell who is who… and they win matches with Grace…. sometimes…

It is a shame that they felt the need to take a cheap pop at WWE AGAIN, but its what they always have done you only have to look at the old knockout vignettes that they used on the knocked out dvd that blatantly blast the wwe divas by saying ‘NO DIVAS HERE’. TBP and Lay-Cool are very different and to be honest I find Lay-Cool a hell of a lot more entertaining than the TBP, they have run thier course now, people wanna blast the divas division and creative at least WWE didnt go off on one about how amazing thier womans division is and that they have a female president backing it all the way to let two has beens come in and mangle it completely!! EPIC FAIL DIXIE!!!!!!!! ( WE WANT ROXIE BACK)
How childish…there have been many teams like this (Vince’s Devils ring any bells?) and TBP are the least entertaining out of all of them. A&V are certainly not the first, were they expecting to be the last? They need to grow up.

Laycool sucks it is nothing but a rip off and michelle mcool no matter how much wwe has tried to push her down our throats still can’t any reaction from the crowd. I do like layla but I have never cared for michelle mcool and no matter how much wwe pushes her at us I will never give a shit about her.
It might have been about Madison (and possibly Lacey is she’s gonna get phased out of the group quietly) rather than LayCool but they could be using reverse psychology just so everyone assumes it’s a shot at LayCool.
The fact is this vain/bad girl gimmick has been done several times: PMS which was quite entertaining; Team Blondage in the indies; Vince’s Devils which I thought wasn’t good at all.
Currently, TBP in TNA and LayCool and Maryse in WWE are doing derivatives of this act but with individual touches. TBP seem the most explicit with their outfits, ring entrance and potty mouths; LayCool is the comedic group; whereas Maryse is the classy take on it.
And people say Laycool are childish. This is the second time Love and Velvet took shots a Laycool. Laycool have far surpassed TBP in all areas, in ring work, look, and promos. And personally i think Love and Velvet are ugly and Laycool didn’t have to act like cheap prostitutes to become popular. TBP are so done, I just lost whatever respect I did have for them, and it was very little.
Like everyone’s stated, TNA takes shots at the WWE every chance they get. There’s no reason to act like you’re five, TNA. There’s much to be said in, “don’t tell me, show me” that TNA doesn’t seem to realize. Getting a cheap pop from a ‘cheap crowd’ because you were so badass and took a shot at WWE doesn’t make you anything than petty. WWE used to do the same thing to WCW back in the day, when they were losing the Monday Night Wars. It was childish then as well.
And its very hypocritical because Tna is always coping WWE. The ECW storyline right now has been done already, the whole Kurt Angle screw job thing they did was copied, even TBP are a copy of VInce’s Devils and previous WWE female groups.
It was so obvious they were talking about LayCool. And they might have even been talking about Maryse too. Let us take a trip down memory lane..remember when Mickie was still on Raw and feuding with Maryse, and Maryse would spray hairspray in her face. Well TBP voiced their opinion about that too. So it’s obvious they were talking about the Divas. But as NT86 said this has been done before, long before TBP ever came along. There was PMS, there was Stacie/Torrie when WCW was feuding with WWE. There was Trish/Lita in between their feuding. There was also Torrie/Michelle/Victoria aka Vince’s Devils. So TBP your not the first, get over yourselves.
Laycool might act like children on camera, but it seems to me like Love and Velvet are children in real life.

I think that you’re all missing the point. There is nothing wrong with competition among two major entertainment rivals. Some of you may have forgot that WWE did it years ago with WCW. So what’s wrong with The Beautiful People doing it to Lay-Cool? And TBP’s whole gimmick is to be the mean girls of professional wrestling, so they have a right to take shots at whoever.
it probably was a shot at Laycool but i really wish TNA would stop all the cheap shots at WWE. Its just free publicity for WWE for gods sake! Having said that i don’t think TBP and Laycool even have the same gimmick really. Laycool act really childish and are kind of like the playground bullies in primary school, whereas TBP kind of act like popular cheerleaders who think they are better than everyone (when heels anyway). Its not the same gimmick.

PMS were the first female team with the gimmick but to me Vince Devils are the original TBP b’cos the angelina/velvet entrance where velvet goes between angelina’s legs.. candice & torrie did it first back in 2005.

Have some class and not attack other women for a gimmick that has been done wayy before you guys. Vince’s Devils did this gimmick before TBP, come on. I’m so sick of women this week just taking shot at other women. It’s just getting really annoying and sad that women in their 30′s and late 20′s can be so immature when I’m only 18. I wish all of these women who have been taking cheap shots this weak would just grow up and hop off their high horse. They should be more worried about keeping their job than worrying about whose stealing whose gimmick, when in honestly – “The Mean Girl” gimmick has been recycled over, and over. WWE did it technically BEFORE TNA with Vince’s Devils. All gimmicks get recycled. All in all, this really just shows their true character which I’m glad came to the light. All these immature women this weak attacking others in interviews, blogs, etc. Smh, it’s just pathetic, really.

I have to disagree with the comments asserting that either tag team is jealous of the other. Everyone likes looking at an argument between women and deciding based on nothing who is jealous of who. Why does either team have to be jealous?
Lay-Cool is great and in my opinion the most entertaining segment on Smackdown each week. Their matches, while not the best wrestling I have ever seen, tell a good story. The biggest problem I have with Lay-Cool is the fact that they consistently get matched up with divas who are not even close to their level professionally. But the only way to fix that is to make your standard pretty faces take a back seat and let the real wrestlers like Gail Kim in the ring – and for more than 2 minutes. I think some serious competition and a well-thought out story line that actually lasts is the best thing for them.
I do have to admit however, that I am a bigger fan of The Beautiful People. The Beautiful People consistently pull in the highest ratings for TNA Impact (which Lay-Cool will NEVER do thanks to WWE’s treatment of women) and their worst matches have better wrestling than the WWE Diva match of the year. Neither one of these two got to where they were by being pretty first and deciding to wrestle later. Guess who did? And by the way, those of us who watched TNA before the ‘war’ already know that even as singles wrestlers, both members of the Beautiful People had honed their gimmick and started using it. Know what that means? Even if it has been done before, BBP have been doing it since before they were BBP, and before EITHER member of Lay-Cool could wrestle.
Queue the people who are about to disagree with me based on watching WWE for several years and TNA for less than one. Or maybe it’ll be the “WWE is better and I can somehow ignore the wrestling to tell you why” crowd.
Ok everyone, this is obviously becoming a war and the only way to settle it is for The Beautiful People and Lay-Cool to have an inter promotional feud. I can see it now The Beautiful People vs Lay-Cool.
Also, I think both teams have their strengths. The Beautiful People are more established and therefore have more experience. They do have a certain edge to them that has contributed to their success and the fact that they look the same and have a lot of similar attributes character wise help them mesh together the easier of the two groups. Now Lay-Cool are pretty good too but their success seems to stem more them them have more publicity because they work for a more wealthy and established company. In addition to that, because the wwe has more money, Lay-Cool can afford better attire and dress more stylish. Finally, because Lay-Cool individual are polar opposites in a sense being that one is tall, southern, Caucasian, blond, wrestler of the group and the other is short, British, colored, brunette, and character of the group they can compensate for what the other lacks and sometimes being opposites can make just as good as a team as two people who are identical.
All and all, neither The Beautiful People or Lay-Cool should be bashed but praised because these two groups of women represent what women’s tag team wrestling is and they should be respected for that at least.

Actually WWE was the first to create this kind of team which is the Vince Devils. Like @MiPMafia said they stold there entrance so what TNA put in a thing or two there so did Lay-Cool. Apparently they are jealous of lay-cool because they are what 1.0000 times popular.

Actually its obvious the beautiful people are jealous because there not as popular as lay-cool are and they claim they were first to make a team like that but flash back the vince devils.
I remember the Vince Devils, of course. Put the Vince Devils, Lay-Cool, and TBP in an hour long match. Who would still be standing at the end?
Sorry, but I don’t know of ANY diva that could last with TBP. Even Gail, and that’s a shame. Maybe if they you know, let her get some TV time. maybe.

Sure, Angelina is decent, but lets face it, Velvet is terrible in the ring. And I mean terrible in a Maria way. Michelle wrestles better than Angelina and Layla is better than Velvet. The only thing is that TBP has more charisma.
And honestly I think that not only TBP, but also a lot of the Knockouts have reasons to be jealous of the WWE Divas.
Rosa Mendes probably gets more money than TBP just to jump ropes and do some ocasional photoshoots.
So even if all WWE Divas were worst than the KO, they get payed a lot more and have way more fans.
It’s probably important to remember that if you choose to be in TNA rather than trying to be in WWE, that’s a wrestler who doesn’t wrestle for the money. So I’m not going to waste time speculating on that. Velvet needs work in the ring but sorry no knockout is Maria or Kelly Kelly bad in the ring. I actually laughed out loud at that.

Hello, this is my first post here even though I have been visiting this website for a long while now. Anyways, back to the topic at hand. I have read the comments above and agree that the BPs are not the original for this gimmick but i am siding with them. I think those who are bashing the BPs are fans of Lay-Cool which is find but I am a fan of the BPs. When it comes to wrestling ability I think that the BPs are better because they have more experience . When it comes to Mic/Promo Skills, it is no competition. Velvet is gold on the mic every time and i am entertain every time by the BPs. While Layla is good on the mic and Michelle sucks, I find myself being bored and annoyed when they talk. So to conclude, I think the BPs are better at every aspect than Lay-Cool. So if they want to take shots at them then I say go ahead, they deserve it.
I think everyone needs to take a chill pill and quit being rediculous and taking personal shots at people and calling them classless for comments that their mean girl characters on TV made. Remember that it it just entertainment. It may not have been the personal decisions of Velvet and Angelina to make those comments, anyways.

I feel that we shouldn’t even be discussing this topic. The Beautiful People want others to stoop to their level. But it won’t happen because Layla already spoke about the subject matter. I don’t even understand why they’re comparing themselves to LayCool. Yes both groups have similarities; however, they’re different in so many other ways. To me, TNA just wants WWE to have a comeback. I think both groups are great. But in my opinion, LayCool is the better stable and will always be.

Who cares! That is my question. It’s not like Velvet and Angelina were ‘shooting’ on anyone. It’s scripted. They are told what to say 90% or more of the time when they are on tv, it’s all bs, so to blame them for any of this is silly. Even then, if they did say it on their own, there is no originality in wrestling. No one is innovative anymore, everyone is a rip off of someone else, and trashing one another is bound to happen. Wrestling isn’t a business based on friendship, it’s competitive and there is crap talking. Be it in a company or from one company to another, it doesn’t matter. Velvet and Angelina get crapped on because they say this stuff on tv, just imagine what everyone else is saying behind the scenes. It’s silly to care so much about something so petty. Neither group is better than the other. Both are pretty lousy in the ring and have zero mic skills.
I don’t see why it has to be one or the other! I like Laycool and TBP but like i’ve said before, i see them as different gimmicks, albeit similar ones. I wish TNA in general would stop taking shots at WWE, it makes them look weak whereas they actually have some really good wrestlers, male and female, could possibly do with new bookers though! As for who copied who, there are tons of girls who have had similar gimmicks to this and if they just mean the bad girl “i’m better than you” attitude, your talking about 99% of heels quite frankly! Laycool probably did borrow some ideas off TBP but TBP borowed some stuff off Vinces Devils and they probably got their stuff from someone else. Most things in wrestling are recycled.
Well, if -if- The Beautiful People were taking shots at Layla and McCool, then they stole that ‘mean girls’ crown right off of their pretty little heads. LayCool can’t go around acting all high and mighty like -omgawd they would never copy anyone-, then call somebody ‘Smelly Kelly’ which they may as well have copied from a first grader. TBP keeps the catty-fierce bitch crown, LayCool can keep their childish antics.
