I always think it’s weird when they say “come to terms” with it. Like they’ve been grieving but now they’re over it.
Adios Serena, we hope to see you return sometime in the near future.
Finally now we can riot…I had my hopes up all week wishing it wasn’t true, but it was and apperantly Serena push for her realeased so I am not going to whine or throw fit because what’s is done is done and I really dont know the true reasons after this. So I wont point at anyone. But like WWE I wish Serena the best in her future. IMO she will be very succesful because she is pretty young and talented. I have to say WWE has let go a lot of female talent between 2009-2010 hope they learn and dont keep screwing up . Now WWE has a very shallow diva roster.
ugh… good wrestlers always getting stick in the butt.
they better debut aj lee soon!!!
**released
So much for getting her head shaved : /
Its a shame it looked like they were actually going to push her as a wrestler instead of just a valet and then this happens.
Nice of them to make official what we and PWInsider broke first on Monday.
Wow…I hope she gets signed back and matures a little more outside the ring. If she were a talentless model I would say that she can be replaced easily, but since she’s probably one of the best womens wrestlers signed in a while I say good luck replacing her WWE. Most likely they’ll just pretend she never existed if this is not part of a storyline. Good luck with that she has a unique look and people are gone to notice.
They SAY they wish her well, but the WWE doesn’t want anyone to succeed unless it makes them money.
I’m seriously becoming repulsed by WWE.
Serena is a great talent who knows how to work a crowd, that can wrestle on the same level as a guy can, and is incredibly good looking. That should be enough for her to stay a part of what is supposed to be the “best” wrestling company in the world.
WWE is constantly making mistakes with their women’s division and I really hope that Serena finds success in other parts of the wrestling world. Be it TNA or back in SHIMMER.
You can’t really blame WWE for this one, I get that most people are upset because she is one of the few actual wrestlers in the WWE. I was mad to when I found about her release until I read the reports saying that WWE officials had warned her several times to quit partying so much and on top of that they were going to give her a big push so it’s not like they released her for no good reason. Most people can’t say they would keep an employee if they kept partying when you had warned them before, I’ve also heard that there was a particular incident that caused the release.
I’m with bxradimus, I hope she goes back to SHIMMER. I’m not sure TNA is the safest place for female talent right now, but I’d love to see her back on the indie circuit.
Completely agree with Ryan1919.
Now Serena can party all she wants. She blew it big time. Multiple warnings from the biggest company in the business, and she ignores it. Don’t blame WWE on this one. Great, she can wrestle. But apparently she can’t hold her liquor. It’s not just about talent. It’s also discipline and listening to your employer. She signed a contract to portray a character. It’s in their right to tell her to tone it down on the road, especially when she reportedly carried her behavior backstage.
TNA, Shimmer, ROH, whoopdidoo. None come close to the stage, prestige, and income of WWE. Serena can only blame herself. I’m sure the next diva they call up will not take their opportunity for granted.
Dave Prazak has stated on the SHIMMER msg board: Serena was never unprofessional, had poor work ethic, or wasn’t punctual when she worked here.
So given that, I find it very hard to believe she’d become a partier upon being signed to the WWE. And it’s prestigious to work for the WWE? You may get paid more, but given the fact their women’s division isn’t taken as seriously as women’s wrestling is on the indies, I’d rather work for SHIMMER than the WWE any day of the week. Pay, prestige and stage be damned.
And it’s a double standard, given the fact that so many male wrestlers have gotten into trouble and not been released. Another example of how men can get away with stuff but if it’s a woman then pssh, they’re expendable.
Spiffy- Don’t slander her reputation because YOU THINK she can’t hold her liquor! Were you there that you saw these incidents? Or did you speak to someone who saw it? I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say you did neither of those things and you simply believe everything you read. Grow up! Serena is bank, too bad that money’s going to profit someone other than WWE. They’ve really fucked up on this one.
@Donnie; Actually, no. Serena really fucked up on this one. Is she a great wrestler? Yes. Is she easily replaceable? Hell yes! She wasn’t with the company long enough to make a name for herself and most people remember and know her for her work in FCW as to in WWE she wrestled only ONE match and will be remembered as a Valet in SES. It’s not like WWE releasing Mickie, Trish, etc. Serena didn’t even get the chance to make a name for herself (which, is sad) so really, Serena fucked herself over. She was working for possibly the biggest Sports Entertainment company out there and she fucked it up. I can see if WWE just released her because they just were growing bored of her (ie. Katie Lea’s reason, I’m sure) but she was released for something she could’ve controlled/stopped from happening. I hope Serena returns to SHIMMER. She’s a great wrestler and I love her work.
@XfrenchTKO – Most people are replaceable. They’ve dealt without The Rock for crying out loud, so I think that’s irrelevant really. We know everyone is expendable. I’ve been guilty of assuming and believing the dirtsheets before too. All I’m saying is, let’s not jump to conclusions and assume Serena messed up because she couldn’t control her liquor. I feel that’s uncalled for. Its very disrespectful and it upsets me to be completely honest. Especially for someone who’s worked so hard and who has a reputation for being the opposite of that. I support her, I’m not her biggest fan ever; but I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt. The real reason for her release, we don’t know, its all speculation and rumors. That’s exactly what it is. So if we don’t know, don’t say she couldn’t hold her liquor and that’s why she got fired because we don’t know that.
I think Jennifer nailed it. The [supposed] reason for Serena’s release was strictly due to her breaking kayfabe outside of work hours. Assuming this is correct, name one male wrestler that has ever been released for the same reason. We’re not even talking illegal drug abuse, steroids, or trouble with the law. Does the WWE have the right to release her? Absolutely. But they have the right to release any male wrestler that does the same, yet they don’t.
And as far as money goes, there’s a heck of a lot floating around other places than just WWE. McMahon’s company gives people the opportunity to become a household name, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone’s getting paid more than anywhere else in the world. Just ask the wrestlers, especially the women.
What I want to know is:
With Serena getting released for not playing her character 24/7 why did Tiffany, who was taken to jail for going crazy on Drew McIntyre, only get suspension?
Its not like Tiffany is the cornerstone of the womens division. She’s just as disposable.
If what jennifer says is true and they did release her for breaking kayfabe outside work I would be uber pissed since they didn’t mind suspending Tiffany for getting arrested (but technically she didn’t break kayfabe since she’s a face and he’s a heel). I think her release was really weird since they said it was a disciniplary measure which makes me wonder if they will eventually bring her back. And like I said before some websites have said that a specific incident triggered her release, so maybe it was something they thought politicians would use against linda mcmahon just like they were worried what brian danielson did would cause controbersy so they released him and ended bringing him back. But with WWE’s views on the women it probably won’t ever happen.

*Controversy
my bad :)
well there go another wrestler not a model
seriously fire the bella twins
Some of the defences of Serena are rather lame. Serena only has herself to blame.
Do some of you guys/gals work in the real work?
Donnie, who are you to say that she CAN hold her liquor? How do you know Serena is bank? Who are you to say WWE f’d up? Were you on the road with her or are you only believing reports of her reputation? Why does it disrespect you that others here post their opinions based on reports that thus far have been very accurate?
It’s not uncommon for any company to have separate standards for different employees. WWE runs their company like a business, not an indy wrestling fan. Serena is at the bottom of the food chain and won’t get special benefits another person would. And if you believe reports (which again have been accurate so far), she actually did get a free pass since she was given multiple warnings and even the glimpse of a push before they were forced to release her.
Some of you kids need to learn just how a business operates, I suggest getting a job and find out first hand that life isn’t fair for both males and females in the work place. Money talks, and if your not making the boss man/WOMAN (yes marks, there are women in the business world that will slit your throat just as fast as any man would) the money they need, your of no use to them.. I.E. Serena up against someone like Orton.
Serena will be as remembered as Cherry or Kristal, though I loved them both. And tbh I didn’t really see her going anywhere once the SES angle ended.
This is just how WWE works things – 1 rule for 1 person and 1 rule for the next. This isn’t the first time a female employee has been treated like this by them and it sure as hell won’t be the last.
To the replaceable comments: everybody is replaceable. However, the replacements aren’t always as good as the one who was replaced.
A lot of rumors about why she was released came out. Honestly if the party to much is true, I honestly think they shouldn’t release her. They should just suspend her without payment for awhile. I’m sure she would learn.
People are going to say that if she did mess up, then she just needs to be released, but Serena was a woman who was so dedicated to her dream of being in the WWE that she tried to become closer to the Diva image by putting breast implants and according to reports she was chosen as the valet of the SES because she was the only one who accepted to shave her hair.
So this women, showed way more commitment than anyone on the development. Maybe they should have released the women in FCW who refused to shave their hair for lack of commitment. But releasing someone who basically abdicated of something that most women worship even more than God (for instance I would never shave it, even though I already used my hair in a very short cut, like P!nk) shows that they really can’t see the ones who truly love the business.
Lets face it. The models they hire are probably there to make money. I honestly doubt that some of these girls ever had an interest in becoming wrestlers. They probably just craved for the TV exposure in order to move on to other things after it.
Serena loved the business.
Serena worked hard.
Serena was one of their few girls who actually was a wrestler before going to the WWE.
They made a bad decision, period.
Personally, I think we should wait until reliable information on the reasoning behind her release surfaces before blaming *anyone*. Despite what a few websites are saying, we don’t know what went down at this point. It’s a missed opportunity regardless, and I’m disappointed that she didn’t get to prove her worth.
@Kerry – Good point. I don’t know why I’m so surprised. They’ve been especially disrespectful to their women wrestlers, I guess Serena is no exception. Serena did tweet something like “You guys are the greatest fans in any universe!” So atleast she knows we feel for her release.
@Spiffy – I don’t believe the reports. And I’m done there.
And @ TDogg is it? I’ve been working since I was 16 and I’m 23 now. So I hope that ignorant question wasn’t directed at me.
Ofcourse Serena was at the bottom of the foodchain. She wouldn’t have been if the writers would actually put effort into using their women effectively. Watch some of her matches in SHIMMER and then you tell me she couldn’t have made something bigger of herself if given the time and effort by creative.
At the end of the day, Serena’s only 24 and she’s a great talent. She’ll make it back into the WWE when she’s sorted out her ‘behaviour’ problems – this is what WWE do with a lot of the young stars. They give them a few years to grow up, then bring them back in when they think they’re mature enough to handle their strict rules. Serena will be back in WWE one day, I have no doubt of it. Even if she isn’t, like I said, she’s a great talent and she definitely won’t be short of work for a while to come. Everyone just calm down. :P
@ Ana_Nattie_rules
You are 110% right. The models the WWE hire only cares about the money and TV exposure. Do any of these girls wrestle on the independent circuit when the WWE releases them, no. But where are Mickie James & Katie Lea at after the WWE release them? They are both on the independent circuit kicking ass and taking names. I know a lot of people bitch about TNA and how they don’t pay good. Well, TNA is not as big as the WWE and their talent are allow to wrestle independent shows in addition to working in TNA. That’s something WWE doesn’t allow their talent. Hopefully TNA will look at Serena when her no complete clause is up.
I’m afraid that i’ll visit divadirt tommoro and fined natalya or tamina relesed.
Whats up with wwe firing divas that not a modle ?
wildsnorlax: The difference between Natalya/Tamina and Serena is that they have their family name. I honestly doubt that either of them would have been hired if it wasn’t for that.
I love them both, but its true.
@ donnie darko hardly ignorant just the way the world works regardless what some fanboys or young people who dont know better think.
She was warned about her drinking both on and off screen. She should have heeded their warning. Little sympathy here.
@T-Dogg – - What do you mean I don’t know better? Its all politics. Because as previously pointed out, people like JBL, Undertaker, Orton, among others have gotten away with a lot more shit. But sure….fire the girls because nobody gives a shit about them, replace them with more tits and ass and problem solved. I’m done here too. Think what you want.
Where did I say YOU dont know any better?
This has little if not nothing to do with politics she was asked to curb her drinking around shows by her employer, she didnt. Her lack of self restraint has nothing to do with politics.
Conversely, what about the “Lack of self restraint” among the male wrestlers who have gotten away with much more? The fuck it has nothing to do with politics..sure buddy.
When your employer tells you to do something within reason you comply as an employee.
She made a choice on something she was told what the consequences are if she did it again. End of. Once again her personal choices had nothing to do with politics.
I’m not going to go in circles with you. So let’s agree to disagree.
No as your point makes no sense in this issue Serena had the CHOICE of staying in her hotel room and drinking or doing something that didnt involve her drinking or getting into trouble with her employer. But she chose the option that would get her in trouble, not for the first time either.
And again T-Dogg, you know this how? Oh yea, you were there right? My bad, I forgot your usually center stage when someone is committing an infraction in WWE. I forgot you didn’t read it on some website. No ofcourse not, you were present when the alleged incidents transpired. You saw Serena drinking with your own eyes. Righto, my mistake.
You are losing the argument so you are sifting the goalposts here. lol
You’d swear you didnt make all those other posts in here previously where you made comments about her firing despite not seeing her drinking.
Post Fail
You lose. Because obviously your going by heresay, you can’t prove Serena was indeed drinking, resulting in her untimely release from the company. Your FACTS are derived from unreliable sources. Your going by what you’ve read on some internet dirtsheet.
Whatever dude, I’m done with you. Have a nice day.
I dont understand how I lost exactly as Im not the one who changed the argument as they could counter my points nor Im the person who says they are done.
Again you are acting like you didn’t make the posts you previously made. Serena wasn’t just released you for drinking. Additionally your point that I didn’t see Serena drink therefore I can’t comment is rather silly given that she was due “to continual issues with her behaviour on the road after being warned to curtail them” it was not one single incident.
Explain how the Torch, Observer and PWInsider are unreliable sources? What would you consider reliable sources then?
Unless they were there, then yes, I consider them unreliable. And if you want to hear that your right and I’m wrong, ill say it as long as this discussion is terminated. Your right T-Dogg. Your points are valid and I don’t know what the hell I’m saying. I’m wrong. Happy?
Have a good day.
So their collective track record on being right has nothing to do with their reliability then? Simply amazing.
I sure she was framed multiple times donnie darko due to politics in the back. Im sure Vince McMahon was the bar tender too.
Alright, using your reasoning about them giving Serena a couple of free passes to straighten herself up(No pun intended); then why weren’t Randy Orton or JBL(at his time)fired for their reported(in the HardyBoyz book and the ever so accurate websites you swear by) multiple infractions at one time or another? Because they’re men? Or because somebody’s watching out for their boys in the back? Or maybe the rumors are true that McMahon has somekind of homoerotic fantasy for big guys? Take your pick. Not everything’s black and white Dogg.
