With the finale of NXT season two on Tuesday (vote Kaval!), attention turns to season three, which if last season is any indication, should begin the very next week. And like the first season, we can probably expect the season three rookies to be announced on the second season finale on Tuesday.

Speculation has been mounting since earlier this month that next season will include Diva rookies for the first time ever. According to a report by the Figure Four Weekly newsletter, season three will feature four male rookies and four female rookies. Well, using our super-sleuthing and powers of deduction, we think we may know who is set to be part of the next season. Our clues below…

Syfy cameras at FCW taping: Reported by PWInsider, Syfy had its cameras at the FCW taping on Thursday night, which pretty much confirms that season three is a go. (I’m assuming that Syfy’s cameras were there to film footage for the little introductory video packages that they show.) On that night, AJ Lee, Aksana, Liviana and Naomi Night were part of the taping, as well as Jamie Keyes who already has an announcing spot on NXT.

Friday in Fort Myers: FCW held a show yesterday in Fort Myers which was attended by our friend, Bobby Lea Burchill, who offers up some more clues. At that show, once again, there was a camera crew filming the whole event including a Divas tag team match. Who was part of that match? The same suspects as above. AJ, Aksana, Liviana and Naomi Night.

But there’s more…

New weave, Naomi? In a sign that she’s been made to look ‘(national) TV ready’, Naomi Night debuted a brand new weave at last night’s show which Bobby describes as being ‘more in line with the other Divas’, i.e. the pretty young things on the main roster right now.

And finally…

Babyface/heel switch-up: For those that follow FCW, you’d know that the first ever Florida Divas Champion, Naomi Night has been portraying a babyface, as has Aksana. Meanwhile, AJ and Liviana in FCW, are heels. Last night — without warning — things were switched up. Aksana and Naomi played the heels, while AJ and Liviana were babyfaces. Perhaps practicing their new roles for NXT?

The clues are mounting but of course, until Tuesday night, nothing is official.

  1. Hey i found this diva tag team match on Youtube just tipe in this:
FCW- Diva’s Tag (AJ Lee & Liviana vs. Naomi Night & Aksana) 8/27/10

  2. @Pinky
    Thanks
Hope AJ & Liviana are the heels are NXT not Naomi & Askana

  3. “If SYFY was over at FCW filming then they obviously will pick up the new season of NXT duh. But i read that it will just be moved to a different time slot.”

NXT will air on SyFy in September. However, it was announced in the April press release about Smackdown moving that NXT will be off SyFy after Smackdown debuts on Friday, October 1st, and nothing has been reported about that no longer being the case.

Until an announcement comes out saying SyFy changed its plans or another channel picked up the show (which is unlikely since something like that would have been announced well before the end of August), NXT will be off the air come October.

  4. SyFy’s schedule on their website says NXT will air in it’s normal timeslot of Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. eastern through Tuesday, Sept. 21, which would be episode 3 of season 3. After that…..

Tuesday, Sept. 28: NXT at 11:00 p.m. eastern (episode 4)
Friday, Oct. 1: NXT at 7:00 p.m. eastern (episode 5, right before Smackdown’s debut)

And that’s it. NXT is not listed on SyFy’s schedule after that. It will be odd if WWE tries to do a full season with 8 rookies in just 5 episodes.

  5. I’m excited. I just hope that Naomi doesn’t wear neon colors like those she’s wearing on the photo.

I wonder how the polls will be. I hope the guys and girls polls are separated, or it will be hard for the girls.

  6. @spiffy,

You can’t compare those two. Naomi is
a better wrestler than that guy and a better
talker. The diva who probably be
the first to go is Liviana. If you see her wrestle
    you will know why.

AJ and Naomi are the ones who can actually
    wrestle.

  7. Btw I had like the greatest brainwave ever earlier, well in my eyes. I want to see Naomi Night teamed with Goldust. While that might seem crazy, hear me out. Naomi has a very unique and colourful image, similar to that of Goldust, and an old (now late) manager of his, Luna Vachon.

Whilst none of the sexual props would be needed and whilst Naomi would not be a sick in the head as Luna (that’d a good thing!), I could see the two of them as perfect PG psychopaths. Naomi would be a brash possibly bipolar edgey character who turns Goldust into his old, psycho ways, and he could bring back his theme that he used with Luna. They’d be sick together. And they both use the Butt to the face move aswell. :)

It’ll never happen, but never mind!

  8. @ trisha

I’m factoring looks too, which honestly holds more value than wrestling ability in WWE. To me, Liviana is a lot prettier than Naomi. A ton of people will vote strictly based on looks and not wrestling/mic. Some will even vote to keep a train wreck on the show, like American Idol. Liviana could actually be the next Rosa.

The main thing I want improvement with Naomi is the way she carries herself in entrances. I don’t buy the attitude and hair braid flicks. It just comes off too fake and forced in whatever character she’s trying to portray. But again, that’s just me. Maybe JTG should mentor her.

  9. i would love to see divas on nxt…

  10. Hilarious. Despite whether it is or not — her hair being weave? because she’s black right? So, if we were talking about Maryse’s hair it would be extensions because she’s white? Hilarious. Oh and why should JTG be her mentor because he’s black and “gangsta” or “hood” or “ghetto” or whatever you want to call it and since she’s black, she’ll fit perfectly? And attitudes like that, is why it’s hard for Black women to make it in pro wrestling, let alone be successful in main stream wrestling.
