At long last, the FCW Watch has finally returned. With all the action going on in WWE’s farm territory as of late, we decided it was only fitting to get back on the ball when it comes to Florida Championship Wrestling. And what a week to do so! This weekend, FCW’s alpha females, AJ Lee and Naomi Night face off in a crown/titleunification match with the entire Diva roster at ringside. Check out the match below:
First out are the FCW Divas, all decked out in their Sunday best. This is also our first look at new Divas Celeste (now known as Ricki Vaughn) and Christina Crawford (Alicia Fox’s sister). Also at ringside, Aksana, Liviana and Raw Diva Tamina.
Next out is the Queen of FCW, AJ Lee followed by the FCW Divas Champion, Naomi Night (HEEEEEEYYY!!!). The top Divas shoot each other a few glares before the bell rings and the match gets underway. The ladies lock up, but AJ quickly gets the upperhand with a side headlock. Naomi manages to whip AJ Lee off and into the ropes, but is laid out with a shoulder block. AJ hits the ropes, looking to capitalize, but Naomi kips up and counters with her patented Booty Call butt bump for a near fall.
The champ tries to keep the heat on but AJ reverses into a school boy pin with the help of a handful of hair. Not to be outdone, Naomi executes a split-legged backslide followed by a few armdrags for another two count. Naomi tries to follow up with a scoopslam, but AJ wiggles out and into a waistlock, which is quickly reversed by Naomi. The champ tries to roll the queen up, but AJ holds onto the ropes sending Naomi rolling across the ring. Before Naomi can get her wits about her, AJ comes charging and hits a vicious Shining Wizard, but only gets a two count.
Frustrated, AJ lays into the champ with a forearm, followed by a kick to the midsection. AJ goes to whip Naomi into the turnbuckle, but it’s reversed. AJ manages to stop herself and tries for a headscissors, but Naomi lifts her over to the apron and sends her sprawling to the floor with a forearm. AJ tries to collect herself, but Naomi hits a flying clothesline, sending both girls down to the floor.
The referee starts the ten count as both Divas struggle to their feet. Naomi gets to vertical base first and tries to climb into the ring, but AJ pulls her to the floor. AJ then tries to break the count, but Naomi pulls her back down. Apparently, the queen has had enough of this game, so she slaps the taste out of Naomi’s mouth, initiating an all-out brawl. Before everything is said and done, both AJ and Naomi are counted out and the rest of the Divas roster has to get involved to break AJ and Naomi up.
I must say, the AJ/Naomi feud has probably been one of the most fun rivalries to come out of FCW (not that there has been that many). These two girls were signed to WWE one after the other, and have been in direct competition for the majority of their FCW careers, much like two well known former WWE Divas. These girls have great chemistry with one another and I would love to see their interaction carry over to the main roster (or NXT).
The thing that impressed me most about this match was the story behind it. Even though the storyline is simple (top Divas fighting to determine who’s the best), It’s so much more than what is going on Raw or Smackdown. Maybe the WWE writers should take a page out of FCW’s book and build up an actual storyline, instead of just giving people random title shots. *coughJilliancough*
The match was really good, but I’ve seen these girls do better with each other. That said, this match was better than some of the Divas matches we’ve seen on WWE TV in the recent months. You would never believe these girls have less than five years of experience between the two of them. I’m very interested to see what will happen between these two in the next few weeks, whether it be in FCW or NXT (fingers crossed).

oh, wow. so ashley has been attending fcw? does this mean she’s been training to wrestle? interesting.
I do not know if she can actually wrestle but at least from what I could see from the video Ricki has the body type of a wrestler, meaning she appears to have enough body mass and muscle to believably pull off the visual illusion of standing a chance of surviving and/or cleanly winning matches against opponents like Beth and Nattie.

I loved the Brawl it was so intense! I also would like the girls to get so promo especially Naomi. I think that Ashley Valence looks alot like Maria. It’s so funny how they put her as heel. She doesn’t look like one! Anyway I will like the Divas vs Womens Title match at NOC end this way because I really dont want them to make one title. What’s gonna happen with the legacy of the Womens title?

It always suprises me just how over Naomi Night is with the FCW fans. The FCW fans are generally pretty quiet, even when it comes to WWE Divas or Superstars coming down to do special matches. And yet, for some reason, Naomi always gets a great reaction. Even AJ didn’t get the reaction Naomi does when she was face. Good for her.
Good match, I do hope these two are coming up soon.
Ashley’s been doing interviewing and stuff down in FCW. I think she was a heel here just because they needed a heel to fill out the sides (like that time Trinity was a heel during a WWE lumberjill match). Could have been Ricki or Christina- heck it could have been anyone; they all turn from face to heel every week.
steven the last 3 out 4 fcw divas that moved up to the wwe main roster have gotten fired so for noami and the other fcw divas thay might want to carefull when thay answer that phone call from the WWE

I really don’t understand why FCW divas put on a better match than the divas on the main roster. It’s ashame that all this will stop when they hit the main roster. That brawl at the end was sick though.
I think the FCW divas put on (generally) better matches because they get more time to take things slower (the WWE divas usually get 5-6 minutes including entrances and whatever storyline they’re trying to get over) and they have more time to plan out their matches. The majority of the FCW roster live in Florida, so they can spend more time planning out one match. The WWE roster are travelling all the time; they have TV and house show matches so they could be taking on two or three different opponents each week. FCW tapes nearly a months worth of shows in one or two nights, so for the rest of the month they can plan out their next match.
The match was okay, they really have had better work in the past but the brawl is what made this segment exciting and fun to watch! Even though I know they’re playing charters you almost felt a real animosity between these two. The brawl didn’t feel fake or forced. Echoing Stevens statements, I too would love top see this rivalry continue to FCW or carry over to NXT if it happens. They just have really good chemistry which is rare these days. As for Naomi, I’m almost shocked how over she is, she even managed to get the crowd to cheer her name when she jumped A.J. towards the end of the brawl. Kudos to them both.
Ashley Valence has been down in FCW basically since she debuted on NXT, a few weeks after she was at live events acting as a backstage interviewer and also on announcing duties for half of the show, sharing with Jamie Keyes. At this point in time, Liviana has been announced at FCW’s General Manager, hence why she is not involved in the match, because of her ‘duties’. I don’t think Valence has any intention of wrestling, given the fact that unlike Keyes, she’s got experience in sport broadcasting and isn’t filling a void.
I liked the match, I’m glad it ended the way it did, however I do think its about time there was one women’s prestiege on the brand, I have a feeling Naomi may win if AJ gets called up, but then again if NXT occurs, I can see some random match happening with one of the newer girls involved. It’s good to see Christina and Ricki finally on board, though they’re barely acknowledged, good to see Tamina given some focus after her recent FCW Divas title match (which was pretty good) I prefer most of the FCW Divas stuff, I don’t see why whoever books and writes here doesn’t do it for the main brand, 9/10 the FCW Divas have more going on than the main brand, I wouldn’t want to move.
The match was good and I hope you can pull up the matches over the past few months. Naomi Night has really some out of her shell defenidng her FCW divas championship.
Great match; I love both these girls. Plus I love the fire in Naomi; she sure is one of my favorites.
Aj got cat calls as a face that’s about it. She also did a promo I think the week before this match aired and she got some reaction, but it sounded more like a face reaction and a few cat calls. Night is going to be big. She does such a great job in telling stories in her matchs. Aj also is so good at that. Her moves are so fluent she reminds me of a young Gail Kim.
@ Steven, she was the ring announcer a few times at FCW live events & she is also a ringside interviewer, but no word on her wrestling any matches.. yet!
Celeste is hot, really like her look, i do know that she recently wrestled a house show match, in a 6 diva tag team match, and from what i heard she did really good, and i thought the match was really good,

that’s not ashley it’s jenny quinn (Jenny Cash) who was released in Febuary, but it was reported that she was at the tv taping on august 26th
