  1. I say that they dont wanna deal with 2 titles either, but that really pisses me off. It’s like they don’t realize people actually care about the Divas. There are Divas they could get rid of now and it wouldn’t matter, I won’t name names because I’m sure people know who I’m talking about, but if they unify the titles, even more will be useless and ugh, I don’t know.

PS: Raw freaking sucked, all of it

  2. OMG!!!! i really dont want this unification to happen, its gonna really destroy the divas division :^( (DIVAS ARE THE ONLY (main) REASON I WATCH WWE!)

  3. Hope everybody enjoyed the show tonight…sorry the ending was a little fugly, my computer decided to rise up and challenge the establishment. I blame the Terminator.

  4. I’m going to give my own little prediction on this. I’m thinking Lay-Cool is going to recruit a new member to join their little tag team and I think that the person who they are going to get is going to be Isis the Amazon. Think about it, she just recently got called up just in time for this storyline to happen and usually Lay-Cool cheat on everything so they’re going to go to the WWE Officials and say it’s not in the rules that they can’t bring in a new member and make them co-champion. I think this will be an exciting way to spice up the divas division. After Lay-cool gets Isis to do their dirty work, Isis can turn their backs on them and feud with Lay-Cool. Sure Isis is still really green but this would be an amazing storyline. I’m going to call it and say this will happen.

  5. She recently got signed****

  6. I have a feeling that with the unification of the Women’s Titles, this could also mean the branching out of the Women’s Division to both brands. I mean, it only makes sense. With the shortage of Divas available on Smackdown, and the amount of inexperience that the Divas on RAW posess, it would actually be good for everyone. The Divas could get more camera time, the company could determine who works together the best, and having one Women’s championship, much like Beth Phoenix said on Twitter, it can make the “hunt” even more challenging. Sorry if this was discussed on y’alls show, I wasn’t listening. I’m using Diva Dirt Mobile! Haha

  7. Not to give the WWE too much credit, but they could be biting their time until someone is ready to fill in on Smackdown. If Melina ends up facing Michelle at Night of Champions, she can beat her, but Layla can claim that she is the actual champion, so Melina hasn’t won the belt; therefore, the two belts still exist separately. This could lead to Melina facing Layla in the following PPV, in some dissention between LayCool because Layla has claimed her spot as the actual champion, or LayCool can just get the title back and move on the the next challenger. It would be a way for WWE to get around the stipulation since they seem to book the division on the fly and rarely think where things will be five months from now.

Nevertheless, I personally don’t see the above happening. I see them unifying the belt (keeping the gaudy one), and regretting their decision down the line. If they do unify the belt, the booking of Michelle McCool will be VERY interesting. She has been in the spotlight on Smackdown for years now, and, besides a small period of time when she initially turned heel on Maria, she has been involved with the title since Smackdown got one. They can’t possibly keep booking her that way if they unify the titles.

If the unification happens, it will be interesting to see how WWE will handle booking the girls they enjoy having in the spotlight. Back when there was only one title, it was clear they wanted Trish and Lita on top, so they could handle booking the title around them. However, now they have Michelle, Maryse, Melina, Beth, Eve, and some others they want to give the spotlight to. Something, or rather someone, will have to give… and it’ll be interesting to see who that will be.

  8. I do think that with WWE jumping the gun and firing divas, they just got lazy and have decided to only deal with one title. But the point about not outperforming the guys always brings me back to Melina vs Michelle at NOC in 2009, when after their match they apparently were told that they didn’t wrestle like divas, but like wrestlers and to not do that. It also makes me wonder if girls like Maryse (especially Maryse since she has obvious strengths beyond her wrestling… but apparently she did some cool stuff in her OVW training) were told to not really worry about perfecting the wrestling.

The only silver lining in this is that with the likely paring down of the roster to come, the remaining divas will be able to better differentiate their characters.

OT: Has anyone found a clip of the houseshow where Maryse rips up some signs or of Maryse’s OVW training (I wanna see Frenchie fly)?

  9. Interesting point daemonic re: NOC2009. That show was in Philly and my buddy and I went that night…I’ll have to go back and rewatch that match…I do remember it was a pretty quality match.

  10. I’m using DivaDirt Mobile too so I missed the show..=(

@Melanie – I did send you an email regarding the upcoming film “The Wrestling Women vs. The Doctor of Doom.” Hope you read it.

  11. Great show guys, I am now singing the R Truth theme song, (thanks Jennifer). I have just watched the match on wwe.com. I thought it was boring, sloppy finish. I am in two minds of unifiing the titles. If they book this correctly, it could be really cool if we get some excitement. I also see some releases coming, which is a shame. Also, if they are bringing in some new blood and doing a Diva NXT – then I think that they would start to “trim the fat”.
I loved the tribute to Luna, it was really touching. She will definately be missed. I think it is really disrepectfull that the WWE haven’t even acknowledged her.
Can’t wait to hear next weeks show.

  12. It sucks that fans feel that way about the divas. I miss the the days of Lita & Trish. Matter of fact anything before 2007 are the days I miss. When they actually cared about the division. When they called them ‘women’ and ‘divas’. When they were able to have two matches in one show.

  13. Good show, guys, albeit pretty depressing for the longest stretch there. Justifiably so, though. I was thinking about possible releases as well and I think you basically got them. Rosa and the Bellas should definitely be making alternative plans. Jillian is in danger with her only reprieve being the rumor that Vince enjoys her as a comedy act. Gail I think is safe due to diversity issues both in the Divas division and looking at the roster as a whole. As safe as any disposable female can be, anyway. Eve would be an easy one to toss. Can’t think of a single reason they’d need to keep her, from a management standpoint. The only other person who might be on the chopping block is Tiffany, but she’s married to a VIP and they had the opportunity to release her recently and didn’t.

  14. I’ve just read that WWE are planning to Unify all the belts in the WWE before Wrestlemania next year. HUGE roster cuts must surely be coming.

  15. it was funny when David couldn’t turn the show off lol

  16. Kitty – it felt like the computer from “2001: A Space Odyssey” took over my house. I wanted to rip the machine out from the wall and yell bad words. :-)

  17. Great show as usual. I think I’ll stop watching RAW and just listen to this cause frankly this is WAY more entertaining. I found it funny when you guys couldn’t turn the show off lol. xD
