Diva Dirt reader, Jay, attended the Raw brand house show in Arecibo, Puerto Rico today. Check out his report below:
Ted DiBiase (with Maryse) vs Goldust
Ted and Maryse generated a lot of heat. Maryse was in her bitchy type of personality and she stole Ted and Goldust’s spotlight as she ripped up a “You Suck” sign post. She also slapped Goldust and hit (or tried to hit) a photographer with her shoes. Goldust won when Ted accidentally knocked Maryse off the apron. Goldust took advantage and used the Last Call.Eve came out and asked a fan where WrestleMania 27 will be held and since she answerd correctly, she got to ring the bell for the Divas Championship match.
Alicia Fox vs Melina for the Divas Championship
An okay match. It was just that the girls took a little bit too much time to get started, as Alicia posed a few times around the ring. Melina got a huge reaction from the crowd. Melina used her old bulldog split for the win.The Usos vs The Hart Dynasty
I was wearing a Hart Dynasty t-shirt so they pointed at me a lot (lucky me). Natalya is very active as a manager as she tries her best to get the crowd behind them. She hit a beautiful clothsline on Tamina when she was going to get involved. Tamina mainly consoled the Usos when they were outside (other than trying to get involved). Dynasty celebrated their win. I liked the match a lot.Eve went out once again to throw some t-shirts.

I really loved it
not shocking Maryse would steal the spotlight, she didn’t do good on Superstars tonight because she kept getting in the way…the kiss made up for it though lol
So, yeah, I don’t like Melina and Alicia in the ring against each other, I’m sorry. IDK what it is either but I hope Alicia maybe turns on Melina in the whole title unification thing somehow. I wish Natalya would be used in the ring and not be a manager. Just saying…I know a lot of people would agree with me on that.

Melina .v. Alicia dont have much chemistry with each other. I think alicia has the most chemistry w/ Kelly & Natalya. Michelle has a lot of chemsitry with almost every single diva on the roster in my opinion except for the Bella Twins.
I of all the few live matches I’ve seen with Alicia I liked the best Alicia vs Gail at wwe superstars in Miami because I loved her sick sissors kick to Gail on the top rope! I have to agree that I really don’t love alicia/Melina chemistry. but melinas entrance is always awesome, even better in live events I’ve only seen her twice on live events

on paper, alicia fox vs melina looks like a great match, but i think that its melina that messes everything up. i just get a vibe from melina that resembles the 2004 heel trish stratus, that she is better than every other diva, except i think melina believes that, especially now that mickie james is gone.

And Melina and Alicia have NO chemistry what so ever. The only divas Melina can work well with are Beth and Michelle… ya know the ones who can carry her through a match.

I got excited when I read that. God I wish the WWE would use the tag team champisonships right!
give them some time. maybe they’ll get better chemistry it took lita and trish a while to have chemistry. so people don’t quick.

As Melina usually gets the crap knocked out of her during Beth/Michelle matches, she isn’t being carried by them.
However, Melina and Alicia just don’t have chemistry. Alicia is not built enough to hold Melina up for moves and Melina’s in-ring style doesn’t work with Alicia’s (which is weird because Melina tends to be the diva that can get a good match out of everyone–Candice (she practically made Candice look like a champion), Maryse (they were short, but solid), her matches with Beth and Michelle were amazing, Layla.
I find it interesting that Maryse is “spotlight-stealing” by slapping people and antagonizing fans, but Natalya is “an active manager” for doing being a good face manager. I’ve actually heard Maryse getting props for her managing on the Superstars match on other boards too.

Actually, that pretty much sums their managing styles quite nicely.
Maryse on Superstars was hilarious. But unfortunately, it was because of how much she got in the way of the match.
Did you guys watch Alicia vs. Melina
on Superstars that were a geat match.
So, they have no chemistry is bs in my opinion.
Jillian and Melina doesn’t have that much chemistry
they only had one good match and it was on a PPV.
Melina and Alicia only had one bad match and
it was on RAW couple weeks ago.
Maryse tried to hit a photographer with her… um… shoes? Sold, man. :) The girl’s winning me over.
Finally saw Teddy vs Goldust on Superstars. It was a great match, Ted actually looked like a heel.
Anyways, aside from when Ted threw Goldy into the steps, she wasn’t that in the way. I love the fact she chewed out Cole and Lawler and was trying to get the crowd to stop clapping for Goldust. Maybe this pairing is finally finding its legs. Speaking of legs, I’d forgotten just how long ‘Ryse’s are.
Someone must find footage of these matches with Maryse “wildin’ out” on fans and photogs.
But if Maryse is doing all that, Ted needs to do something too, like taking hats or whatever from fans and tossing them away or paying off refs or something.
Can I just say that Tamina and Santino is making me throw up a bit in my mouth. Like of all the hot ass guys on the roster… Santino? Did she not watch Santino be an ass to Maria and earn a PhD in annoyance while he was with Beth?
I’m going to say something people will probably disagree, but sometimes Melina just doesn’t connect well with her opponent. Unlike Michelle, for instance, I don’t see Melina as a woman who can carry matches with worst opponents.
Honestly I miss heel Melina. Her best times (charisma wise) was on MNM. SES soon will end. Both Morrison and Joey need someone at their side with charisma. I’m all up for a MNM reunion. She can still get singles matches anyways, like she did. And maybe she could feud with Natalya ;)

The thing is that Melina has carried not so great opponents to solid-to-good matches. Christie Hemme and Candice were not great wrestlers when Melina feuded or put them over. Melina’s short champion vs champion match against Maryse was solid. If it gotten more time it probably would have been a good match. Melina and Jillian have had good matches, when given time.
Melina and Alicia just don’t jive often.
I believe Mercury is injured, but I agree, MNM was awesome.
I have no idea where some of the Melina-comments are coming from, because as far as I can see, the only women she lacks chemistry with are Alicia and Jillian (although this one is arguable). She even had some aiight matches with Maria (shocker), mainly that one the week after she won her first title. And I’d say that Maryse’s best non-SD match was vs. Melina too.
