i love angelina.. but being number 2 when she was inactive for like, half the year? is terrible on pwi’s part. it’s a bit like that time when candice and melina both broke the top ten when they weren’t active for nearly the whole year. and where is lacey? lol poor girl.

oh, i know she sucks in-ring, but pwi usually explain their choices as being not all to do with wrestling ability – more with how marketable they are, screen-time, yadda yadda.. and she’s had a lot more of that the past year than say, for instance, daffney, taylor, odb and kong. so even though she sucks as a wrestler, her not being on the list doesn’t seem right to me.

I’m really confused about the Melina thing too.. Angelina was gone for awhile and shes number #2.. Beth, Maryse, Tara, Kong are all in the top 20 when they were not active all year.. hmmm.
Eve is ranked waaaay too high though. This list must have been made up awhile ago??
We’ve known Michelle was placed at number one for a while now, so I don’t know why there would be many more “haters” in here. As a matter of fact I feel like the discussion regarding the article which sought to justify her placement was pretty mature. No disrespect meant at all either, but I don’t quite understand why this is being referred to as “exclusively revealed” here when it had already been posted at a few other places.

WTF?! Eve #5 that’s a joke right yeah she is my 2nd favourite but really!? Dont you think she deserves to be at the end of the top 10 and honestly Alicia has done better than her. Alicia had a better divas champion reign , she is good at the mic also cutting promo’s. Eve only defeated Maryse which isnt that big of a deal. Alicia defeated Gail 2 times and won the first fatal 4 way for the divas championship. Okay PWI has lost there mind! I mean doesnt that mean something you know what im not going to overreact to this at least alicia made it in the top 20. Congrats Michelle you deserve it.

Jazz hasnt really wrestled (much) in 2010 and most of 2009, so she shouldnt even have been on this list at all.
The list still sucks, but i think its more balanced than last year when it was mostly WWE/TNA, and it even had a few retired names on it. The positions of Mecedes Martinez and Madison Eagles at least showed they looked beyond WWE/TNA this year.

Oh, i just noticed that Melina isnt on the list. Well, guess i have to take my words back, this list isnt better than last years. Sure, she was injured for a long time, but she did have 2 title reigns in the #1 promotion, and other women were also inactive. So there is no excuse to leave her out of this list.

Well I’m surprised and very happy to see Mickie James made the top 10. It’s been a really rough year so far for Mickie. Mickie has proven to all her wrestling fans that she still has a passion for wrestling. I don’t really have a problem with the others ranked higher than Mickie expect one; Eve. How in the world did Eve get ranked #5 and Mickie ranked #8? I would understand if Awesome Kong or even Sara Del Rey were ranked #5 but Eve. If who’s marketable is one of the factors then Mickie should have ranked higher than Eve. And here are two good reasons why.
1. Mickie had an action figure released this year, Eve didn’t not.
2. Mickie released a country music album has pretty good success; Eve has done nothing but half ass wrestle.
Like I said, I don’t have a problem with women like Cheerleader Melissa & Mercedes Martinez being ranked higher than Mickie as they deserve it.

Eve was the first diva search winner to hold a championship and the first DS winner to hold the diva’s championship. While that may not seem like much to you, business wise it is. Plus they use Eve a lot for public speaking and has marketed Eve more than they have Mickie. Plus Eve still has her job, Mickie was released this year, which is most likely the deciding factor in why she dropped a few spots.

people need to understand that marketability is one of the deciding factor as well. most of the time we see girls like eve place higher than girls like beth because eve is usually working some kind of event for the wwe, like their china trip, where they could have sent someone like gail or even melina. but because eve is the pretty face that draws attention, she was sent instead.

You yanked the words out of my mouth. :) But anyway, considering how the list was created, it does make sense that PWI picked McCool. I’m not a fan but I can see the logic there.
However, I am very thrilled to see Mercedes Martinez in such a high spot. To me, Mercedes has always been one of those women who are always in the periphery of things, hardly ever in the center despite her skill. I’m glad to see that this year, she had more exposure. And it’s funny because even though I was observing it, I didn’t notice how well she was doing in that aspect. Glad to see that, at the very least, PWI took note of that. :)

Ok, if marketability was such a big factor in deciding the list then why are Mercedes Martinez, Cheerleader Melissa and MsChif in the top 10? They’re in the top 10 because they can wrestle and have wrestled great matches in the past year. Who has Eve wrestled, Alicia Fox and Maryse as main feuds. While Alicia Fox is improving in the ring, Eve having opponents like Alicia and Maryse is not the same say as having Beth Phoenix or Michelle McCool for an opponent. Yes, Eve was the first Diva Search winner to win the WWE Divas title but I think being a 5 times WWE Women’s champion and the second women to hold the WWE Women’s and WWE Divas titles ranks a little higher.
MickieJamesFan07, I agree the Mickie’s release is a factor why she wasn’t in the top 5. Like I said, I’m fine with Mickie being ranked at number #8. Far as Mickie’s album has nothing to do with the list, I disagree. If marketability was such a big factor as people are saying on here, then her album is important. Mickie did several media appearances in New York promoting her album and talk about her wrestling career in some detail. Mickie is still wrestling and has been some great matches out on the independent circuit. Mickie wrestled Mercedes Martinez, back in August in a 16 minute match and on October 1st; Mickie will be wrestling Awesome Kong.

I really don’t think Eve deserves a place in the Top 10. For me, her matches have never been that great, she’s kind of “stilted” in the ring, and there are other divas on the roster who have better mic skills and charisma. I actually don’t have a problem with Kelly’s place on the list. Sorry gang, but she has improved a LOT and she gets the crowd into her matches. People need to stop viewing her from the same lens they used when she was back stripping on ECW. She has had more than handful of great matches in the past couple years, against the likes of Gail Kim, Alicia Fox, Michelle McCool. But then again, I know saying all this is pointless because some people will just refuse to admit it and they’ll tell me the only reason why her matches were “passable” were because of the Diva she was facing.
