In what feels like reality mirroring television, PWInsider reports that Jamie Keyes, real name Brittany Beede, has been released from her WWE contract a mere week after being the first cut from this season’s NXT. Additionally, Jamie has been removed from the FCW roster page also.
It had previously been rumored that while WWE enjoyed her work as a ring announcer, they did not see a lot of potential in Jamie as an in ring competitor. With a spot on the Divas roster becoming more competitive, will we see other NXT Rookies released before they make it to the main roster?

I can understand Jamie being released, she was kind of dull and lifeless. I’m not too worried about the other girls though. I see potential in all of them. I love the Aksana/Goldust story (she is like the modern day Marlena), AJ Lee and Naomi are solid wrestlers, Maxine is a good wrestler and great heel, and Kaitlyn is the crowd favorite with a lot of potential.
I’m kind of glad they didn’t give her a main roster spot and released someone like Gail Kim.
The only one remaining that I have major questions about is Maxine- all the others have tremendous upside.
I really hate to hear this as Jamie was once of the nicest Divas you could ever meet. I hope that Jamie truly has a passion for the wrestling business and goes to a good wrestling school then work on the independent circuit to improve her skills. Whatever Jamie does moving forward, this fan wishes her the very best.
Her wresting career only lasted 9 months.
I have to say she was pretty good as a neutral character but she needed alot of training to even be decent, i wish savannah would replace her… i really miss her and serena.
I think this is sad. I thought Jamie could’ve been something in the ring with more training.
I honestly don’t care that Jamie got released, she was the worst person in ring and on mic on NXT.
i would have rather seen Aksana released instead of Jamie, but i guess there is nothin we can do about it

Jamie seemed to have forced promos, and bad in ring skills in my opinion. Even when she came out and tried to do a booty shake she was very stiff. She seems like a really nice lady, but I dont think she was meant for wrestling. the best of luck to her
So sad. She could have been a ring announcer/backstage interviewer.
I know most of you hate Jamie (it’s been proven post after post after post on here), but I felt like she wasn’t given a proper chance to showcase herself like everyone else. Maybe I’m the only one that sees this, but I felt she had the potential to at least be SOMEBODY in WWE. Maybe sticking as a ring-announcer, or returning to FCW and being under the advice of Jillian for a year.
Everybody else either benefited from either already being good on their own in terms of in-ring ability (AJ, Naomi) or WWE has given them storylines to benefit from (Kaitlyn with Vickie Guerrero and Dolph, Aksana with Goldust, and Maxine with Hornswaggle). What did Jamie get? Nothing. Zip. Blank. And her “pros” were of no help either. The Bellas?! And what’s worse, they’ve weren’t even on NXT half the time it was on SyFy. Her and someone like Natalya or Beth would have made a whole hell of a lot more since. Hell, her and EVE would have made more sense than her and the Bellas!

Well…when you hire a person in March, and sparring put them in a match or two, as well as put their focus on something OTHER THAN WRESTLING, then of course you’re not going to see potential. Plus…do they not see who’s on their current roster being pushed? And who’s being held back? I don’t get it; I just don’t get it. I could go a whole lot deeper, in all honestly, what’s the point?
But I know a good deal of you hated her from the beginning, so yes, I’m just ranting a bit. Unlike FCW and WWE, I DO wish Ja…make that Brittany (as that’s her real name) the best of luck. She doesn’t need the WWE to be successful. Best believe.
Billy, Bobby, Jennifer…you mentioned that she wasn’t the best wrestler, but all three of you saw something in her, so I gotta give my props to the three of you should you be reading this. There might be a couple of others, but these three come to mind.
That’s how I feel and I’m sticking to it.
I wish we could’ve seen another match with Jamie to fully get a grasp on how much she’s learned- BUT
WWE, whether I like the new “Diva Division” or not, they are building up their Diva Roster (and Developmental) with a lot of great talent- Jamie was the first voted off, so that is a smart business decision. I thought Jamie had a lot of potential, but I’m glad to see (with a new trainer in Jillian Hall) that they’re going to be able to work on in-ring ability as well as “gimmick” or character.
As long as the Divas Division creates GREAT matches, I can’t complain with what we’ve got.
@C-Ray I TOTALLY agree with you. She got the shit end of the stick- If they would’ve kept Savannah/Angela Fong for NXT3 and made it a feud over the NXT announcers, they could’ve had a crazy feud going (like Savannah getting mad over Jamie taking her place as announcer or something-).

I completely understand and respect your guy’s points; but even Kaytlin shows alot more promise although she is GREEN. She came in brand spankin new and was thrown on national t.v. despite barely having a few months of training. Even with that disadvantage she seemed to be alot more natural with her movements, and standouts with her personality. Jamie seemed like a robot most of the time, and didn’t even dominate basic moves despite nearly a year of training. Even when just walking down to the ring she seemed so stiff. She could have been used as an anouncer or interview, but not as wrestler in my opinion. For the record I’m not a Kaytlin mark.

You seemed to have missed my point, Johnny. Go back to my post and read it again. Besides WWE chooses who they want anyways. I mean, I wish it was a legit competition with an somewhat equal playing field, but it’s not. Yes, Kaitlyn has the least experience, but again, she benefit GREATLY from having Vickie with her (or against her in her case), but Jamie didn’t get that. And she’s not been training for a year. She was brought in around March and has been used as a RING ANNOUNCER for most of the time, not even thinking about putting her in the ring. The only reason she got that match with Savannah was because Courtney Taylor was released prior to the tournament. IMHO, Jamie did what she could with what was given to her, and despite not being a favorite here, I respect her for that. Maybe I’m a bit too passionate about this because I’ve actually talked and communicated with her beyond just WWE.
I’m not hating on you, Johnny, as I understand where you’re coming from. I don’t completely agree, but I can respect and understand where you’re coming from.
If I’m acting like a sourass, I’m sorry. But this really hurts! Now I know how many of you felt when Mickie, Katie, Savannah, and Serena were released, especially with Savannah and Serena. I mean most casual WWE fans may never know just how talented Savannah or Serena they really are. All they know is Savannah being a ring announcer and Serena being part of the Straight Edge Society and not playing an actual wrestling role until late in the game.
I’m glad it was Jamie, and not the others however I think Jillian could have helped Jamie with her in ring ability.
I feel nothing. That’s the kind of reaction she inspires. I’d also agree that Maxine has a good shot at being released as well.

im kinda shocked they released her since you’d think they’d release rosa who hasnt been used much at all since jamie can get reactions…..wtf wwe wants wrestlers but they hire models & try to get them wrestling…

Thanks, I’m glad someone was willing to give Jamie a chance. I gave Jamie a chance because a personal experience had with Jamie. I was at a house show this year in Tallahassee, FL where Jamie was the ring announcer. I was trying to get a picture of her all night but couldn’t because where I was sitting ring side, she had her back facing toward my side. Right before going to intermission, I tried to get a picture again as Jamie was walking around ring side. Jamie walks past me but saw I was trying to take a picture of her and turn around and pose for me to take a picture. To me that shows that Jamie cares about the fans. Jamie didn’t have to stop for me to get a picture but she did that do me show what a good person she is. That’s why I was cheering for Jamie Keyes during NXT 3.

Your idea of a gimmick would have worked if they had kept Savannah. My idea was to take the nickname that Josh Matthews gave Jamie, “The Terminator of NXT” and run with. Jamie could be nice and sweet outside of the ring then when she enters the ring, become a bad ass with one goal; destroy her opponent. I think that gimmick would have worked but I guess we’ll never know.

All of the NXT chicks do! Thats why i like them they arent just some model chicks but they actually wanna wrestle! Hope to see her keep trainin babe one day u might be in TNA! I couldn’t ever see her as a diva anyway if I’m being Honest! Good luck to her tho, she seems like a lovely girl.
Oh well, life goes on. Although I actually did see some potential in her to become a great television personality for the WWE.

it’s a shame. i think we can all agree that she wasn’t ready for the big time yet, but would it have really hurt just to have her sent back to fcw for longer?
i’m more worried about what current main roster girls will be let go to accomodate naomi, aj, aksana and kaitlyn, who seem like they’ll be making the jump to raw/sd at the end of nxt, rather than what nxt girls will be released. maxine is still questionable.. wwe just don’t seem to care about her.
I agree with C-Ray the wwe pushed Kaitlyn more than Jamie. Its sad but true. The wwe need a new and additional Powerhouse like Beth Phoenix. That makes Jamie so special to the other nxt divas. I´m not a fan of nxt because they dont give them enough time than in the past i think. no one starts as master. I hope she get a new start in wrestling (tna or somewhere else).
Wasn’t ‘Jamie Keyes’ found by TNA? I think she was Kevin Nash’s valet from that valet search. She could very well go back to TNA if they want her.
I agree with C-ray u right she dosn’t need WWE to be successful all she need is maybe go down to SHIMMER’s training school and she well be amizing wrestler I mean look at Jamilia Craft she only trained for a year and look at her now she’s 2 times better than John Cena in the ring.
And at SHIMMER’s school they actully let u do awesome wrestling moves,unlike FCW’s staff all they give the girls is BULLDOGS and FACEBUSTERS.
is Jemma Palmer still with WWE?
